apparently, we got a kind of upgrade on check in. The room was comfortable. The location was excellent...easy access to the center of Valletta and the ferries. The staff was wonderful and very helpful!

Really lovely Hotel, our room was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful. On arrival we were given a list of restaurants and excursions that we could book and the best ways to get around.
The breakfast selection was extensive, better than most places I have stayed and you could book the Spa for your personal use for an hour.
We had a couple of Spa treatments, which included exclusive use of the Spa for an hour after.
Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

We had an exceptional stay. Arrived early because we had to check out of another hotel and were given a very warm reception, welcome drinks were a lovely surprise. They agreed to take our luggage and deliver to our room once it had been prepared. We were very fortunate to be given an upgraded room with balcony which was perfect. The individual room/group access to the beautiful spa pool and steam room was a fantastic experience. All staff were very professional and hugely helpful. Great central location. Highly recommend.

Nice hotel, great location, very welcoming staff. Worth noting that some rooms only have a bath tub, no shower - and our tub had a large stain which was a bit off putting.

Our towels weren’t changed at all for the first few days of our stay, and there wasn’t much room to hang them to dry - but then they were changed daily on the last couple of days of the stay so perhaps they were just overlooked on the previous days.

The built in hairdryer in our room was broken, so they gave us a spare - but there were no plugs near any of the mirrors, so my wife had to use the reverse camera on her ipad instead which made things difficult.

Breakfast was very good. We’d stay again, but not in the same room.

Nice hotel - great location

Nice hotel with great location. Noise from lobby can be heard in the rooms as they face inwards. Woke us up in the mornings as breakfast was being set up. Pastries at breakfast seemed to be from a packet rather than a local bakery which was a bit disappointing for this standard of hotel. Not very appealing. Staff very helpful.

A hotel packed full of history. Rooms full of character in a beautiful 400 year old building. Fabulous location a short walk away from the sights of Valletta, many bars and restaurants and the fast ferry to Gozo. The staff were incredible - so helpful and kind at all times. Highly recommend

My wife and stayed here during our first visit to Malta (November 2023)
I was in communication with the hotel staff by email prior to our arrival who were very helpful to arrange transportation to the hotel from the airport.
They were also very helpful to arrange and book a tour to the islands of Gozo and Comino. (Highly recommend)
What we liked about this hotel was that as a boutique hotel it was well maintained and the breakfast included was very nice.
I cannot stress that the wonderful staff made us feel comfortable and welcomed.
There are multiple restaurants within walking distance as well as the harbor.

Gem in a beautiful city

What a find! Beautiful boutique hotel in Valletta. From the moment that we arrived we were greated with smiles from all of the
hotel employees. Nothing was a problem.
Highlights include the spa with hot tub in the historic cistern and steam room (private as you book an hour slot ach day); lovely rooftop pool and terrace area for drinks and sunbathing, birthday breakfast treat. Room was comfortable and kept the charm of the traditional maltese style.
Teens were treated like adults and really enjoyed their stay. We loved the location just off the touristy street but close to beautiful restaurants - we loved the red door restaurant around the corner. We also ventured out of Valletta to Birgu and Mdina and arranged a boat trip to see the coast - all brilliant days out and easily navigated to.
Hopefully we will make it back sometime. I would certainly recommend this hotel!

Perfect gem of a boutique hotel

The only thing I would say is I didn’t realise our room had no external window so quite dark but saying that we did not spend much time in room and lovely roof top area to sit with beautiful roof top pool, great spa as well which you could book for couple use, we had a lovely stay!

Most importantly, the entire staff was excellent. We were going to list each of them, but unfortunately lost the sheet on our return to the US. We are very experienced international travelers, and this is just the kind of hotel we particularly enjoy.

I booked this hotel based on the many wonderful reviews, and sadly, I was disappointed. While it is a beautiful building, inside and out, beauty does not equal comfort. I had an 'interior' room, which per the other reviews here state, have no window and felt like a beautiful tomb. Very little light, claustrophobic, etc. Furthermore, the AC unit is controlled by the front desk and apparently controls the entire floor. The temps were in the 60's, and the hotel had the heat on, making my room hot and stuffy. When I asked to turn the heat off and AC on, I was told that they usually cannot accommodate that since it controls the entire floor. Somehow they managed to make the switch to AC, but in the middle of the night, the night manager must have switched it back to heat, as I awoke in a sweat and had to go downstairs and ask for adjustment once again. I was told it 'would change the temperature for everyone on the floor,' and I felt as though I should not have even made this request. Lastly, from these interior rooms, you can hear absolutely everything from the main floor below, so mornings started early as the breakfast room as set up. Instant alarm clock! I was so uncomfortable in this room unlike any other hotel room, and yet I kept feeling as though I should find this place 'exceptional' like so many others. Perhaps it is just me, but be aware that these interior rooms offer no glimpse into the outside world, are extremely stuffy and have no soundproofing.

Chic boutique hotel in downtown Valleta

Beautiful and chic hotel renovated 5 years ago in central historic Valleta. The location is not only convenient to all the major sights but it is a beautiful one indeed! When we walked in, we were welcomed by the manager, Tony, and he introduced all the amenities to us including a private jacuzzi and massage area that guests can book. I’m not sure if the is private service is available during high season since it’s low season now. The hotel’s lobby is beautifully decorated with a retractable roof that closes when it rains.

The rooms are so unique and each room has a different theme, thus the different names of each room. The room floors are hardwood and the rooms are spacious with a comfortably padded. The hotel also provides complimentary water, coffee/tea, refrigerator, spa robes/slippers, and plenty of closet space.

Tony, the manager, is very friendly and has plenty of suggestions on what we can do around the area. We are traveling around low season so it was raining one a few days. No worries tho since the hotel offers umbrellas and a spa to keep yourself busy if you are limited in outdoor activities.

The only downside I would say would be the loud fan that you need to turn on if you get one of the interior rooms. The Interior rooms are more spacious but also get less ventilation so the fan was turned on quite often which caused difficulty in sleeping for me. Otherwise, friendly and impeccable grounds, staff, and amenities!

Good and bad at this lovely Valletta Palazzo.. First the good - the staff were delightful, very friendly and helpful. The rooftop pool was small but lovely, nice views around and plenty of space to sit and relax. The building is quirky and has some beautiful features and interesting decor. The less good - the spa is so-so, it is underground in a unique cave like setting and has the potential for greatness, but unfortunately it needs maintenance and a staff member to attend to it and make sure things like the steam room are ready for booked guests. The bad - our original room had no shower which is odd and for us it was inconvenient, however it turned out not to matter as we had to switch rooms due to no hot water in the original! Breakfast was also a bit dismal.. the food is an ok selection but you are not allowed to serve yourself either the hot or the continental. This means waiting around for a staff member to come and serve the hot, one person at a time (whoever goes first has cold food by the time the other has been served!) The food is also not very hot, not well cooked and left out too long in chafing dishes. The continental you can't really see what is on offer and we ended up having nothing from it which was annoying. The lift is tiny and could only take one of us with our luggage, we mainly used the stairs. The staff did treat us to a lovely fruit platter and bottle of wine to make up for the little problems, which was very thoughtful and much appreciated.

A mixed review. This hotel is in a great location just off the main area. The building is well presented inside and outside. Reception staff were excellent ,very friendly and Helpful. The night reception fixed a problem with our TV and was very attentive .
The facilities are good for a very small hotel .
Breakfast really was the only issue. The writing on the menu card so small it is unreadable to me. I was ordering from a buffet that I couldn't see so had idea if I wanted anything .why not just put the buffet behind a screen like other hotels so we can ask for what we want. So I ended up with Tomatoe not mushroom,fatty soggy bacon not lean crispy, bread not toast, no butter no marmalade. The waitress took no notes and was just guessing.
Apart from that this is a very nice hotel .

I absolutely loved staying at this property. I was offered a very warm welcome even though I had quite a late arrival, was given a welcome drink and very well taken care of from the start. My room was spacious and had all the amenities I would expect to have. The rooftop pool was gorgeous. The breakfast in the morning was nice and the staff was also very friendly. In general very pleased with my stay here, all the staff working here showed lots of care in what they did and would definitely come back again!

Fantastic property and staff. The photos don't do it justice. This is a 450-year-old property (!) that has been beautifully updated. Loved the extensive breakfast buffet, sitting in the open courtyard, and the views from the rooftop terrace/pool. Staff were uniformly helpful and friendly, including Reena at the front desk and the breakfast staff. The location was also great-right out the front door, up one block, and you are on Merchant Street with many restaurants.

This is a great little hotel in Valletta walking distance to many sites. Our room was spacious and well appointed. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The breakfast has a wide variety of items--from the classic bacon and eggs to fresh fruit to meats and cheeses. There is a nice indoor pool for the winter months--it's small but then not a lot of hotels of this size actually have a pool so enjoy it. Only comments would be the to control the temperature we had to go to the front desk. Also there was a desk in the room but none of the chairs worked with the desk.

Amazing staff willing to help with all and very friendly. However the hotel itself is in need of some updating. Their tv system was complicated and in 2 nights we couldn’t get the music to play. There is a lot of sound transfer between the rooms also and the spa is not normally set up for guests so you have to wait for the steam room to heat etc. There also seemed to be a lot of moisture in the rooms and the spa. I was covered with damp towels during a massage making it rather cold experience. There was also some water damage on the ceiling in my bathroom which looked like it had been there for a long time. The hotel looks beautiful and when I was moved form my windowless room to one with a window I definitely enjoyed my stay more despite these other issues. The breakfast was great!

It is undoubtedly a lovely property on which a lot of money has been spent and it shows. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful - cleaners, serving breakfast, reception. Biggest disappointment was that our room did not have a window. We prefer bathrooms to have doors not curtains for privacy. Smaller furniture in the bedroom would have allowed a seating area. More thought could have been given to the positioning of things in the bathroom such as lighting the mirror above the basin, placing the toilet roll holders within easy reach. Could not fault the breakfast

Everything was excellent from the moment we arrived - staff welcome, beautiful room and all very boutique. All facilities and the breakfasts were also extremely good. Would highly recommend as central for exploring Valletta.

The property was beautiful! Rooms were unique, spacious, comfortable beds, huge bathroom. Staff and service was first rate! A full breakfast was included. The roof top pool was lovely and was a great way to cool off after a long day of sightseeing. Location was also great. Easy walk to restaurants, shopping, local museums. Loved it here and would only stay here on any future trips to Malta.

We had a wonderful stay here,the concierge and all the staff were very welcoming and helpful and provided exemplary service. The hotel is beautiful with a very luxurious feel, each room is unique and thoughtfully designed. We loved the rooftop pool and indoor jacuzzi pool. The location is perfect, central but quiet. The breakfast was excellent. Highly recommended

The architecture of the building was stunning. The room was spacious. The only issue we had was that a curtain was separating the toilet and shower from the bedroom!
