Very central; nice room. Next to a church so one wakes up at 7:45 with the church bells - that's expected in central Valletta with so many churches anyway.
Some minor issues with shower (couldn't switch to overhead shower) but nothing major.
Staff were super friendly and attentive: they left a bottle of wine in the room, invited us for cocktails on the rooftop (we couldn't attend unfortunately), there's port and whiskey available in the lobby, and they brought us some chocolates to the room on Valentine's day!

Location was superb, being minutes away from bars and restaurants. The room was well appointed and spacious. A complimentary bottle of wine, bottled water daily and a wide selection of teas was welcomed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A good continental breakfast was included. Terrific Value in Valetta

The hotel is wonderfully located, staffed from top to bottom with helpful and friendly people, clean, well laid out, and comfortable. The breakfast has a lot of options, the roof deck is wonderful for a morning coffee or an evening drink, and the rooms are very spacious. I truly can't stress enough how friendly and welcoming the staff was - everyone seemed genuinely invested in making sure we had a wonderful stay ... which we did!

Excellent property located centre to the restaurants and waterfronts. The property is very easy to find and walking distance to alot of the attractions. The hotel arranged a tour of Malta \"FREE\" on a classic bus, which was a delightful surprise. The staff are incredibly accommodating and a special mention to \"Oge\" who helped us with a very small issue. Definitely one to recommend.

Could have been perfect but...

Great location, great suite, lovely brrakfast and really lovely staff.

Really disappointed with the rooftop hot tub which is the thing we were looking forward to most. It isn't heated and clearly has had a lot of use. The jet controls are very worn and no longer work, so no bubbles! And it had grit/dirt in bottom which was slightly off putting. There was a considerable leak coming from the base of the shower floor (not caused by overflow - room 202). The bathroom floor was soaked and a bit of a slip risk. These two things really let what could have been a perfect stay down. So, avoid room 202 until the shower leak is fixed, forget the roof jacuzzi and settle for it being a cute roof terrace with fab views (which it still is), and you'll be grand. We left really early for a flight and didn't get chance to report the leak. Love valetta, such a beautiful city.

A personal touch

An excellent boutique hotel with wonderful staff who go above and beyond- especially Nicole who was a marvel. Some minor design flaws with electrical point and light location for functionality and the smallest dining room imaginable for breakfast but otherwise a brilliant place to stay.

Highly recommended!!!

Wonderful guesthouse. We ad the standard room. It was spacious and comfortable, with everything you could need. King size bed, microwave, small hob, fridge (no freezer), plates, bowls, cutlery, a couple of pans. Also robes, slippers, hair dryer, large walk-in shower, and lots of thoughtful extras - herbal teas, nespresso machine, seed bags to heat in the microwave.
The staff were all so very friendly and kind, and so eager to ensure you have everything you need.
They will give you a bottle of mineral water every day.
Breakfast is included and has cold meats, cheese, lots of different breads and pastries, coffees, teas, fresh orange juice. I have coeliac disease and they provided gluten free bread and brought me a separate plate from the kitchen so I didn't have to worry about cross contamination.
There's a little, well stocked, supermarket just around the corner.
The location is superb. Everything in Valletta is walking distance, but you are not on the main two roads, so it is fairly quiet. Don't panic when the bell on the church next door rings. It is VERY loud - but only rings a few times in the late afternoon!

My friend & I have just checked out of here this morning. Absolutely loved it. Big room with v comfy bed and kitchenette. Staff were absolutely lovely, couldn’t have been more accommodating or welcoming. Location is perfect for a city break, loads of bars & restaurants on your doorstep. Jacuzzi on the stunning roof terrace also great! I would note there is a church next door and it seems they have tours & let people ring the bells pretty frequently ! We’d stay here again and will be recommending.

Avoid if you want to sleep...and have clean sheets

Bring heavy duty earplugs or you'll want to move to a different hotel!

Imagine being awakened to the sound of drilling and pounding at 7am every morning, not ending until 8pm in the evening. Unfortunately, no one told us there is construction happening across and next to the hotel, nor how noisy the streets are with cars and buses honking rudely. I've seen other hotels include a disclaimer about construction and though the hotel can't do anything about the construction, they could and should warn guests. We stayed in their junior suite with a balcony in room 202 and tried to move rooms but they were fully booked.

Pros: great location in the center of Valletta, staff are pleasant and responsive, nice room size with a separate loft bed.

Cons: very loud construction early in the morning, street noise around the clock, cars honking/motorcycles blaring, the bathroom door is totally jammed and cannot be closed or opened fully (which is super embarrassing because you're essentially showering in front of your travel companions). When I talked to the staff about it, they obviously knew and said you can't fully open or close the bathroom door....guys...just get this fixed. Also, I don't know if the staff didn't change our sheets but I had to deal with smelly sheets/bedding despite me asking them to be changed with new sheets for 2 nights. Finally on the last night, they provided clean new sheets (though I had to actually ask the staff to smell and they agreed).

Nice stay but… be ready for an early wake up call.

We had a lovely 3 night stay at the hotel in October. The location is perfect and the staff are very helpful and pleasant. However, there is a church right next door and we were woken up by their bells around 4am then random intervals thereafter. They seem to stop after 7am and not start again until early evening. This was very frustrating as we were on holiday and looking forward to some restful sleep. Also the mirror in the bathroom was tinted dark so it was difficult to do your hair or makeup because you couldn’t really see anything clearly. I’ve stayed at hotels with bad lighting but never with a dark mirror.

Great location just round the corner from the pedestrian only Merchant St, within walking distance of Valletta’s main attractions.
The room and public areas were spotlessly clean, good breakfast selections, and friendly, professional staff. Tanya deserves a special mention for all the extra attention that make guests feel welcome and cared for.
Comfortable bed and spacious, well appointed apartment. A couple of points that could be improved: I would have liked the kitchenette area to have better lighting as it was difficult to see when making coffee. The small couch was a sofa bed and not comfortable to sit on. There are no outlets in the bathroom to plug in the hairdryer.
All in all, a very pleasant stay in Malta.

Super cozy hotel with huge rooms! From the outside it looks small and petite but the rooms are the same size as a apartment. The bed are very comfortable and a well equipped kitchen. Small balcony on a quiet street. The smell inside the hotel is amazing. Small rooftop terrace that has a nice view and jacuzzi (not open atm). Nice and small breakfast served in the room. Only thing missing was coffee. Easy access with codes to main door and room. One of the best hotel experiences we had in Malta!

You won't sleep--churchbells just outside all nite

Bells outside the un-soundproofed room nearly wrecked our stay. The hotel can't turn off church bells, but they can and should soundproof the rooms. Hotels dot com should have done better telling us this is a \"self-catering\" hotel, meaning there's no staff or assistance at the hotel most of the time. We were unable to enter the hotel and, eventually, our room, upon arrival, even though it was the middle of the day. No employees were there. The breakfast was cheap and disappointing.

We have just returned home after spending 4 nights in this amazing unique hotel. Although there is no reception, all was organized perfectly. We received 2 days before our arrival the code for the entrance and our room. The room was very large and clean with full kitchen amenities for those who don’t want to eat in a restaurant. There was a bottle of complimentary wine on our arrival as well as bottles of water which was an added bonus. On the downside: although there are 8 rooms there are only 4 small tables for breakfast which was a problem when one morning a 5th couple arrived for breakfast. Although we had finished eating, my husband had been served another coffee so we got up and went outside. The breakfast is simple but for us it was sufficient. The waiter in the morning, who was kind and polite and booked a taxi on our last day for the airport was the only staff we met apart from the cleaning staff who were also friendly. The location was amazing and even though we had read about the bells, and we were concerned it would bother us, when hearing the bells in the morning, once at 6.45 and then at 7.45..it added to the atmosphere of this wonderful town in this beautiful country. We would definitely visit again. Thank you all at PJP for making our long weekend a wonderful experience. We recommend highly.

Great place to stay in Valletta. Very centrally located and well appointed. It is a small apartment. Cold breakfast wasn't expansive, but adequate. If you are looking for a friendly front desk, this is not the place for you. An independent traveler will be pleased. Only negative was too many pillows, none which were soft enough for sleeping!

We really liked this hotel; our suite was a surprise, didn't realise it would be so large, great facilities, well-stocked kitchenette, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed with top-class linen. Loved sitting out on balcony looking down on Valletta street life - Palazzo is in a great position, right in centre of the old city, loads of interesting sights, cafes and restaurants on your doorstep. Staff were very friendly - helpful and professional. The only slight problem we had was with the lighting - switching was a bit confusing . . . didn't detract from overall impression though. We loved Valletta, fantastic place and the Palazzo was the ideal base to explore it - we'd recommend highly!

We had the penthouse suite. The view was amazing and the location perfect, however if the weather is good and you have a late flight you can stay at the rooftop area after check out, but if the weather is not good there is no place to stay. The breakfast was poor and the room did not have a safe box. The jacuzzi was not heated and it was not possible to adjust. The cleaning lady by us room #401 was making a lot of noise at 7am with no respect for sleeping guests. For the price you pay you should receive a better treatment (especially for renting the penthouse suite, the most expensive suite). Not a good value for the money.

Beautiful property that has gone through a complete renovation so everything feels brand new. Upgraded by the lovely owners to the Penthouse suite. Very comfortable and spacious with excellent bedding and towels. The hotel is a short walking distance to restaurants, bars and tourist attractions. Loved our stay at the PJP. It ticked all the boxes - location is perfect, clean, room and building is beautifully renovated. Kitchen was well appointed, if needed - but with some many great places to eat nearby we didn't use it much. We would definitely stay here again.

Das Zimmer war sehr schön und stilvoll konzipiert. Die Mitarbeitenden waren immer sehr sehr freundlich und es war ein Highlight, dass man sich das Frühstück kostenfrei aufs Zimmer liefern lassen konnte. Leider war direkt gegenüber eine Baustelle auf dem Dach, was zum einen natürlich laut war und zum anderen einen etwas unwohl fühlen ließ, da bei Benutzung des Whirlpools ständig die Arbeiter rübergestarrt haben. Auch die Sauberkeit des Zimmers hätte besser sein können und es gab ein paar Mängel (der Spülkasten der Toilette war lose und die Klimaanlage hat eine ordentliche Wasserlake hinterlassen), auch die Ameisen, die im Zimmer waren, waren etwas lästig. Sie müssten eventuell auch was an den Balkontüren machen, da diese sehr rudimentär sind und dementsprechend keinerlei Lärmdämpfung bieten.
