The setting of the hotel with many rooms looking out onto Grand Harbour make it an exceptional place to stay which is further enhanced by the rooftop patio where one can enjoy refreshments whilst soaking up the exceptional ambience.
The staff and service are excellent and the hotel is maintained to a very high standard. Whilst close to the centre of Valletta be prepared for quite a few steps and slopes.

Small hotel but Great location and views of the harbour/across the bay, we upgraded to a harbour view as people had said it could be noisy the city side in hotels in valletta, not sure if this is true or not.
We had two extra enclosed balcony areas, one for luggage and the other looking over the bay with a table and 2 chairs, were we could open the windows and sit with our drinks watching the ships/fireworks (it was a bank holiday)
Never seen such fantastic fireworks.
The breakfast is help yourself but a good choice of cereals,fresh fruit,yogurt, pastries, ham & cheeses, scrambled eggs, bacon,sausage beans, tomatoes & toast.
Would recommend and was surprised it was only a two star.

This place is just lovely! The stag was nice, it was clean and updated but authentic. It's in a perfect spot if you want to catch a ferry or go for a harbor cruise. We even had a amazing view of the harbor!

We loved this hotel. It has a great position overlooking the Grand Harbour and our room with a wrap around balcony gave us a great view of Vittoriosa, one of the three cities across the water. Being in the centre of Valletta it is ideally placed to explore the city with everything within walking distance.

Hotel was in a perfect position wonderful view and 5 mins from shops, food and the sites to be seen in Valletta. Only price to be paid was a little noisy at night but we stayed for 2 nights so not a problem if longer maybe a quieter spot.

Loved this privately-run hotel. It's a great price for Valletta, especially since breakfast is included. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get a harbour view room, so had windows but no view.
I was on the 6th floor, just a few steps from the lovely rooftop terrace which overlooks the Three Cities.
You'll get fit here - there are quite a lot of steps up to the main drag of Valletta.
Take the ferry to Birgu for a wander around and to see Fort St Angelo. Upon return to Valletta, you can take the Barrakka Lift - it's only a euro each way if buying a ticket, but is included at no extra cost in the ferry ticket.

For what we paid bedroom and bathroom was tiny . When we bookedvit sait bathtub which there wasnt . Reception area a let down fir a grand hotel but views were amazing . Stayed in better rooms for less money . But iver all place is clean breakfast adequate and easy reach for Valletta.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and it was good for our 3 nights. The room was small but comfortable. For older, less able, folks it was a steep walk up to the main streets of Valletta. The best features of the hotel were a good breakfast (included) and the amazing view from the roof-top balcony.

The location of this hotel is amazing. We booked a harbour view room and it was just wow! Views across the Grand Harbour to Fort St Angelo and the three cities. Some of the best views of Malta from our room window. Staff were very nice. We would definitely recommend.

What a nice little hotel in Valletta. I booked for the harbor view and it was amazing. Our first time in Malta and this part of it is breathtaking. The room was large and comfortable and the staff were all so nice. It was so convenient to walk to everything in Valletta. There’s a rooftop area with a 360 degree view as well so take advantage of it! Breakfast was included and was great. This is a really nice hotel and you can’t beat the views!

One of the best cities in the world.
We have stayed here a few times because of the location,(amazing harbour views), close to restaurants and bars and central to everything. Valletta is stunning, great architecture and amazing artwork in the abundant churches. People everywhere, bars, restaurants, cruise ships, shops, church bells ringing, Carravagio paintings and the list goes on. Very safe place, not many maltese around though.

My only criticisms would be
1. The WiFi is tempermental and not really \"superfast\"
2. They dont really make enough of the roof terrace that gives fantastc views over the Grand Harbour...its hardly advertised in the hotel. Would have thought it would have made sense to have the small hotel bar up on the terrace rather than down by reception.

Great location. 8 minute walk to bus station. Good food and atmosphere right outside your door. Moldy room and cheap uncomfortable mattress. Breakfast included was just okay, not a wide variety. On our last day the elevator was out of service and we had to carry our bags down 5 flights. Uggh

This is a very unique place to stay in the heart of downtown Valletta. Great walk ability to the restaurants and shops. A great view of the port. We were lucky enough to be there for the fireworks. You couldn’t ask for a better view. The staff were beyond helpful. It is an old hotel but they have maintained it very well.

This hotel is in a fabulous location with probably the best views of the grand harbour in Valletta. The decor is a little tired and old fashioned - they should really get rid of the cushions in the beds - but everything is spotlessly clean and in good working order. The staff are very helpful and friendly and go out of their way to assist you in any way they can. The breakfast is fresh and plentiful to set you up for the day. Our room was huge with a wrap around view out onto the harbour - simply wonderful although it would have been nice to have a nice comfy chair to sit and enjoy the view rather than a table and chair. The hotel is based very closed to lots of great bars and the main Merchant Street strip. This was our second stay and I know we will definitely stay again.

The Grand Harbour Hotel.
This Hotel is in the perfect location to explore Valletta. We had a room overlooking the Grand Harbour and could see the ships and boats come and go. It is a short walk into the Old Town with shops restaurant and bars. It is also a 5 min walk to the Gozo Fast Ferry from the hotel and you can see it arrive. Also the gondolas that take you to the Three Cities go from there.

An amazing location, close enough to walk up the steps to the main area in Valletta, took 3 mins but also very quiet. Amazing views over the water to The 3 Cities. Would definitely recommend, ask for a harbour view .

Ok…biggest problem were the windows. It was a very windy day (not hotels fault) but the windows were very old (catches loose & falling apart) and drafts were coming through resulting in a high pitched whistle ALL night. Curtains were moving due to draft. No sleep at all. If the windows were not so old and all properly sealed, this would not have happened. I have a video of this taken at 4am!

Second time staying at this Hotel. Can NOT beat the view! Our room had the traditional Maltese balcony on one side, and a nice terrace on the other. Ate breakfast buffet 4 days out of 6. Love the breakfast. Service is great as well. Area around the hotel is beautiful as well. If I ever come back for the third time, I hope this hotel will be available!

Property had a magnificent view of the busy harbour and was opposite to Gozo fast ferry. Bus station was not far away and hotel was a short walk away from the centre of Valleta. Was also an easy walk to cruise ship port area where several good value eating establishments presided. (and no steps to get there!!) Breakfast was tasty and great value. This is superb location to see Valletta with amazing views over the harbour.
We were fortunate enough to have one of the rooms that had its own terrace, but the terrace on the 7th floor, which all residents can use is fantastic.
If we ever visit Valletta again, we will strive to get the same room.

Grand Harbor Hotel
The room I had, #101, is the room with both the balcony and the classic Valletta box-bay window that you can see in the picture at left at lower most left corner of the picture. There is a large diversity to the rooms on offer. There is no gym, the bar is small and the breakfast is 'full-english' and while it is a modest spread, the food was good. The room was all tile and marble, ~13' x 13' plus the walk in box-bay area, ~3' x 7' and a small walk in bump out to access the balcony via french doors. The bathroom was large with a long tub and shower combo. There was a hotel sized desk, coffee maker, iron, blanket, extra pillows and with the box-bay and french doors and even a window in the bathroom the cross ventilation was excellent as was the A/C. Hotel's claim to fame is its views which were excellent in both the daytime and the nighttime. It is very centrally located just two blocks from the cathedral, however the elevation up to the main part of the city is ~ a 200 foot climb. So be prepared to climb some 70 to 100 stairs up and still have some more incline to reach level, main city ground. Staff was very friendly. Many good eateries and places for drinks nearby one right outside the hotel with an alfresco terrace (drinks not dinner) and several even as you climb those steps. Very good value for the price. I would consider staying again.
