66 Saint Paul's is set in a recently restored and modernised 17th century palazzo, located in Malta's capital city of Valletta. This beautiful property offers, personalised service and luxurious accommodation, in an architectural gem of a building.
All bedrooms have been individually designed in a classic contemporary style. Where possible, and particularly in the older part of the building, the owners have tried to retain many of the original features, and there are many!
Consequently, all rooms are slightly different both in size and character. Each is perfectly appointed with a writing desk, flat screen TV and Nespresso coffee machines.
Larger rooms have the added benefit of traditional Maltese balconies or private sun terraces. Bathrooms are modern, and all come equipped with a walk-in shower or bath and Molton Brown amenities.
Within the central courtyard, guests and visitors can sit and enjoy the majestic features of the Palazzo whilst savouring a light snack, a glass of wine or a warm cup of coffee. This is an open air courtyard, however boasts of a retractable glass ceiling for duller days.
The breakfast room is located just next to the courtyard, so guests can make use of this space whenever they wish.

Overall a well-positioned and smart boutique hotel in easy walking distance of a lot of Valletta’s attractions. Breakfast was great and the pool was often quiet and not crowded. Unfortunately the shower in our room was not properly sealed, causing a leak each time we used it. The room could have also benefited from additional storage space. Staff generally were friendly, polite and helpful.

The fire escape route from room 501 takes you into a spiral stone staircase which is very narrow, dark in places and blocked near the bottom by bags of rubbish. This was reported to the hotel Guest Relations on the day of arrival but when checked the next few days, nothing had changed. This is a death trap for anybody who uses this fire escape route as per the instructions in the room folder and the fire escape plan in the room and corridor outside the room.
I provided this feedback to Expedia mid-stay of the holiday and they said this would be passed to management at the hotel, but nothing happened to the rubbish blocking the stair It is disappointing that nothing was done.
This gave me sleepless nights for the weeks stay, If anybody else is going to stay at this hotel, I would not recommend not staying in this room or 502 or the Penthouse above.

Brilliant location for walking to centre of Valletta or to ferries . It is also on a city circular town bus if tired at end of a day sightseeing. Very friendly staff who went out of their way eg to heat up some water for an evening Lemsip! Very good breakfast. Would definitely stay there again.

We very much enjoyed our stay at 66 Saint Paul’s. Maximillian, who was working when we first arrived at the hotel, could not have been more helpful. He made wonderful restaurant suggestions as well as gave us a concise history lesson, guiding us toward which sites we shouldn’t miss. The look of the hotel is elegant and grand, even though it is not large. We enjoyed the quality and variety of the breakfast selection and the servers were lovely.
The roof top pool is a wonder, given the age of the hotel/palazzo building, and the view from the pool patio unsurpassed, especially as the sun was setting. Thank you for a memorable stay!

This is the best hotel I have stayed in for a long time - beautiful inside and stunning views. amazing staff, delicious breakfast and nothing was too much trouble. Edwin even paid for my taxi from his personal wallet as I didn't have any cash on me. that is service. we will 100% be back to this hotel. the roof top pool is just stunning and the location is absolutely perfect and the hustle and bustle of the city at night time is just superb.

A wonderful boutique hotel in the heart of Valletta. The staff are beyond helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. They fall over themselves to help their guests. The room (601) and building were clean and comfortable. And the location of the hotel is ideal for getting anywhere you want to go.

We were very disappointed with the “ courtyard view “ room . The courtyard refers to the hotel reception / lobby which is what you would see if you left your room and looked over the rails . It was impossible to open the shutters on the windows as this meant you were in full view of any passing guests and also we were facing the staircase for anyone to see straight into our room through the clear glass . We had to stay in darkness with no natural light or fresh air . The aircon is not allowed to be used at this time of year due to local laws so we got very little sleep as it was hot and claustrophobic . The shower leaked and flooded the entire bedroom when used it.

Our 5 night stay at 66 Saint Pauls & Spa was fabulous. Greeted by Maximilian and a glass of Prosecco in a beautiful building far exceeded our expectations! Our room was beautiful and we had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay in Valletta. The daily breakfast offer was plentiful and delicious. We had a fantastic week staying at this lovely boutique hotel. The room was very comfortable and well equipped with a great view of the area. We enjoyed the breakfast, the helpful staff and the rooftop pool. The spa was a real treat. The area is very convenient for exploring Valletta - everything is easy to walk to. We hope to be back.

My husband and I stayed here for four nights. Our room was amazing! We were in room 601. Stunning view and the room was extremely spacious and very clean. We sat on the terrace every morning and enjoyed the view and had our coffee. The breakfast had a nice selection. All of the staff at the hotel were very friendly and always helpful with any thing we needed. The location was also perfect. Many restaurants and cafes around the corner. All of Valletta is walkable. The ferries are close to see many sights as well. This was our favourite boutique hotel in all of our travels.

Overall, a lovely stay in this small boutique hotel in Valletta. Service was friendly and attentive throughout and the location was great for access to all the sights and restaurants. The breakfast was excellent with a good range of food for a continental buffet. The owner has overseen a fantastic job in creating a beautiful hotel from the remains of an old palazzo.
A few minor items of feedback to improve the customer experience:
- the water in our shower did not drain quickly enough and could flood an area of the bathroom floor
- the sun beds and umbrellas on the pool deck need replacing as two of the umbrellas (of 3) were broken and there were issues with some of the beds.
That said, we had a lovely experience overall and would recommend

The staff could not do enough for you and were always friendly and courteous. Room was slow to be made up each day but otherwise service was good and friendly. Nice choices for breakfast. Excellent spa. Would recommend. Some street noise in city facing room, so be aware if early to bed or a light sleeper.

Had a 1 night city stay during our holiday to Malta. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we stepped foot into the hotel which continued throughout our stay despite only being there for a night. The room was very clean and we enjoyed a quick swim with the sunset enjoying the view of the port. The location of the hotel is perfect and even allowed us to leave our bags after check out to enjoy exploring the city without carrying our luggage on a hot day.

My stay in 66 St Pauls was brilliant. I have never been to Malta before, so when a business meeting in Malta happened, I took the opportunity to stay another 4 days there. It is always difficult finding a hotel in a place that you have never been to; where do you go? what sort of hotel? will the area be good? will there be local restaurants around? will the staff be friendly and knowledgeable? will the place be clean? After careful consideration, I chose 66 St Pauls and was not disappointed. The hotel is on an typical Valetta street, long, straight, with tall buildings. A small entrance opens up into a grand atrium. Stone walls, marble floors. Immediately greeted by friendly staff, offered (gratis) coffee, and a general chat. Shown to my room, air conditioning and other controls demonstrated. The room was spacious, well decorated, clean. Large clean bathroom with high volume shower, always important. My room had no views, which didn't matter to me. There are amazing views over the grand harbour from the small pool area at the top of the hotel. Breakfast is the only meal the hotel provides, a wonderful continental style breakfast (including cold meats and fish), always beautifully laid out every morning. The hotel is 200 yards from the main street of Valetta (but you don't hear a sound from the street). There are dozens of good restaurants in the immediate area. And lots of Valetta and Malta to explore. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, and will stay again next year

This is an exceptional hotel. We had booked room 601 because of its wonderful views from the balcony. The view lived up to our expectations and the room itself was spacious and had room to relax after a busy day of sightseeing. We received an informative welcome from Max at checkin and this friendly approach was received from all of the staff at the hotel. We would say the 66 St Paul’s is in the ideal location for an extremely enjoyable stay in Valletta and if you are lucky enough to get room 601 you will be well rewarded.

I absolutely loved the hotel. The staff were so friendly from the moment we arrived until the second we left. Our flight was delayed so we arrived at the hotel later than expected. As soon as we walked through the door we were shown to a seating area, offered complimentary drinks and left to take in the surrounding. All too often you have to stand at reception to go through the booking in process, not here, far better.
The breakfast was excellent with freshly made pastries, fresh bread and all you could want for.
Staff were so helpful and friendly, giving advice on places to visit and booking what ever you wanted.

The building itself has been in good company over the years – Palazzo Carafa next door was home to Knights of St John Grandmaster Gregorio Carafa, and this early Baroque palace was used to accommodate his key employees and friends.
Our namesake, British poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge, also stayed nearby, and wrote extensively about his time on the island.
