Avoid at all costs

I work all over the world and have stayed in hundreds if not thousands of hotels, and this is by far the worst I have ever witnessed.
Outdated, filthy throughout, terrible rooms, and a really really unsafe feeling throughout.

I did not stay here, I checked in, and after seeing the state of the place immediately left and found an alternative hotel.

Clean but very dated. No tea making facilities. No hair dryer and no air conditioning. Bed was comfortable.
Breakfast Ok but staff not attentive to the buffet refill needs.
Bathroom facilities not very good, shampoo empty, but was replaced when requested, tissues empty, threadbare towels were replaced on request but after three showers. The shower/water direction lever very old and shot off if pressure too high.
Definitely not worthy of the Wyndham name but a cheap overnight stay.

Great hotel nr Dortmund, relaxed and accommodating

I have stayed at this hotel twice in 2 years now and both times have been brilliant for what I wanted. The hotel is in a great location, and very close to Dortmund if struggling to find anything central, you would need to drive/public transport to Dortmund centre but only 10 mins away. The lady on reception was very welcoming and had amazing English for us. Rooms are spacious enough and the hotel Is all in good condition, I will stay again in the future no doubt.

Smelly and cramped and rude staff.

We booked this hotel by mistake as it shared the same name with another hotel in Dortmund. We waited 20 minutes to check in and when finally served the man decided to start checking in another couple which was rude. We paid the city tax upfront and then we’re asked to pay more when we checked out. We weren’t given the WIFI code either. The hotel was small cramped and smelly and despite the no smoking signs it smelt of smoke constantly. And despite having a do not disturb sign on the door we were woken up early by house keeping. The local area isn’t very nice either but there is a few local supermarkets.

At check in my booking could not be found. At checkout they wanted a extra days stay saying that I had on
Y paid for 2 nights not 3 even when I showed them the hotel.com printout. Room was not cleaned properly and staff very unfriendly as if they doing you a big favour. Did not have breakfast there as it looked terrible with tables full of dirty plates and staff not bothering to clean tables. Sparse breakfast with items finished and not being refilled.

Services nearby, barely functional rooms

The good bits about the hotel include how accessible grocery stores, a train station, and an ATM are from there. Each is not only nearby but very easily found. I have to commend the staff for answering my email asking about how to get to the venue I was visiting since Google Maps failed to specify the public transportation I had to use. (Oh, and just be pre-warned: the ticket machine by the station only accepts coins. This is obviously not the hotel's fault but I want to spread awareness to avoid awkward situations.) This help was very much appreciated. There was also free wi-fi.

Now, onto the bad bits. The hotel's hallways reek of cigarette smoke. There is only one elevator and the blueprint of the place is simple enough but needlessly convoluted. My main issue is how there was no light source in the main room. The only lamps were in the bathroom and by the entry. This severely limits your enjoyment of the room and the activities available to you when you get back in the evening. The next point seems to be the standard in Germany from what I gathered but you also have no fridge to store any drinks or spoiling consumables. The church nearby rings its bells every hour throughout the night and the windows also fail to insulate other sounds from the streets. In all likelihood, you will have water overflowing when you take a shower and there is even an extra towel to accommodate this.

Pretty good hotel, comfortable, quiet and very safe. The train station is 5 min walk away. The breakfast is a traditional continental style. Staff are pretty friendly and helpful. Restaurant, coffee shop and giant supermarket all nearby

We have only stayed 1 night, unfortunetely there was really strong, bad smell on the corridoors on 1, 2 floors. Hotel and equipment clean but dated looked far better on the pics than in reality. Thin walls honestly we could hear someone snoring in another room! No soap or shower gel in bathroom had to request those from reception but only received soap bars. OK breakfast and bed comfy.
For the high price of 80euros per night (+extra 5euros on arrival for some taxes??) unfortunetely We do not recommend this hotel, we have stayed in much better places for half that money,

Hotel dirty and under construction

I was situated on a floor where most of the rooms still seemed to be under construction. I had to complain repeatedly to be moved into an actual finished floor and even then the standard of the room was extremely poor. There was no soap/shampoo provided in the room, 1 unbelievably sinky pillow for the bed and dirty floors. Hotel reception seemed to disappear at random intervals which led to me spending an additional 2 hours on arrival going back and forth to find someone to assist. Would not recommend!

I would have liked a mirror on the wall in the bedroom to see myself fully.
The breakfast was stunning and we liked the complimentary water in the room, the fresh fruits on the reception counter and Easter eggs to be able to take on the road.

Very reasonable hotel.

I stayed 4 nights and found the staff friendly and all spoke english. The room was reasonable, plain and simple. Free wifi was a big plus for me. I would come again to this hotel.

We booked the hotel a year in advance with a view to visiting the Dortmund Christmas market, we requested a non smoking room and specifically asked for double beds in the two rooms that we booked. On arrival we were given two single rooms with a worn out chair bed to turn them into twin rooms, the rooms were also smoking rooms that reeked of stale cigarettes. On complaining about the situation at reception we were told no other rooms were available and were offered free breakfast as compensation, the receptionist admitted it was the hotels fault but could do nothing to change the situation. I would not recommended this hotel to anyone.

Cheap but you get what you pay for

first experience at the hotel in march was good but my experience last week in December was very bad. firstly the rooms are functional at best but I don't mind because the price is cheap. the attitude of the staff and their efficiency however was horrible. my room did not get cleaned during my stay of 3 days. the bathroom did not have soap. the parking garage was closed so there was no free parking and when I asked the person at reception in the evening if I could park on the street he shouted back saying I am not a parking attendant.

All in all a horrible experience and I will not be going back no matter how cheap the price is compared to other options.

You get what you pay for

The hotel overall was pleasant and the staff helpful. However, the windows of our room were facing the main road and even at night we could hear the traffic noise. Our double bed was on one site against a wall and I had to climb over my husband to get in and out or shuffle down to the bottom of the bed. The pillows were the lumpiest I have ever come across and the room had no full length mirror or hairdryer. Even with the low price we paid I would expect better facilities.

Excellent VFM Hotel

This was an excellent experience and overall the staff was wonderful. For the price this one of the best hotels I have stayed in at Dortmund. The rooms are nice but small so expect what you pay for. Actually much more than what you pay for as I have paid almost twice this at most other hotels in Dortmund and the service here was much better. Hence the overall 5 stars. If your expecting the same as a 100 euro hotel you will be disappointed but for a sub 50 Euro hotel it is great!

Not the best advert for Days Inn

Small hotel, small rooms, no food & no bar. Only one restaurant in the area and not the best selection on the menu. One window in the room was broken and could not close properly, had it been winter we would have changed hotels never mind room. Stayed in plenty Days Inn's in USA and thought this would be similar, wrong. The photo on the Hotels.com site do not reflect the poor state of the hotel. Never stay there again

Went to breakfast there was no hot water , no bread, only one side of the toaster was working , run out of ham , the eggs were microwaved to death, didn't clean rooms on sat sun as don't do it at on a weekend , no clean towels , only one pillow was available to sleep on, bells at church ringing every morning at 7am, no food available , no restaurant,, we booked for 7 people 2twin rooms and called to make sure they were separate beds , we were told yes, when we got there they said they don't do separate beds it's a double bed with two quilts single , which is not acceptable when two ladies who don't know each other and two men who had never met had to sleep together, the ladies got their room changed , they also said they didn't do single rooms,

No twin rooms!

I had booked a twin room for this stay only to find on arrival (at 1.05am) that the hotel had allocated a double room. This was not suitable for myself and my travel companion. Turns out the hotel does not have ANY twin rooms they are ALL doubles. If this is the case the option for a twin should not be showing against this hotel. This caused problems for us and also some other friends also booking in at the same time. Having said that, the night porter gave us another room and we sorted it all out with the morning receptionist, who was really lovely and helpful. However, it has to be said that some other staff members do need further training in customer care!!

Very bad hotel, faraway from Dortmund attractions

Is not even close to a 3 star hotel. I had a single room, with one bad. I barely had place for my luggage in that room. It was like a baby room. And the personell is a nightmare. Not even english speakers. We arrive after midnight in one of our days as guests. The door was closed, the night ring bell was not working and we were forced to stay about 45 min in front of the hotel. Not even calling on the reception phone number worked. Finaly, when the employee saw us, he was the one angry becouse we arrived so late!

This is just a rundown, terrible hotel. The lobby seems nice, and the hotel staff was very nice, but the room is awful. All night I could hear people snoring in nearby rooms, the TV's blaring, and even people going to the bathroom. The mattresses are uncomfortable, and overall, it was a terrible night sleep.

It was cool and my experience with this particular staff was awesome. She helped me got phone chargers because the European charging pin is different from British charging pins. I can't imagine staying without my phone and this lady helped me organised chargers for my phones.

The hotel staff is extremely pleasant. A typical German 3-star hotel a bit off the beaten track. Great little breakfast buffet. Rooms are very well maintained but tiny by American standards.

If you need wireless Internet you are out of luck. That was not working - a problem for a business traveler like me.

De kamer is echt aan renovatie en isolatie toe. De mensen in de kamer naast je, kun je woordelijk verstaan. De badkamer is in zeer slechte staat: voegen zitten los, schimmel, enz.
Kamer wordt niet schoongemaakt. Personeel (1 persoon gezien) was vriendelijk. Ontbijt was simpel, maar goed genoeg. Die laatste 2 positieve dingen, geven de 2 sterren.

Es stinkt im Hotel unerträglich. Das Zimmer war völlig runtergekommen und im Bad hat es fürchterlich gerochen. Das Inventar war sehr alt. Ich habe mir in einem Geschäft Badelatschen gekauft, um bloss nicht mit dem Fussboden in Berührung zu kommen. Das Personal ist recht flapsig und ungepflegt. Im Zimmer lag noch ein Handtuch vom Vorgänger auf dem Boden. Die Lage war ok. Das war aber auch das einzige.

Schlichtes aber praktisches Hotel

Ist alles schon etwas älter, aber soweit ganz ok - insgesamt etwas einfacher als ich bei Wyndham vermutet hätte. Das Hotel ist aber gut organisiert, und das Personal ist freundlich und kompetent. Großer Parkplatz. Gute Lage - angenehm ruhig nachts und nah an der Zeche Zollern.

Ich fand das Hotel ziemilg grottig. Alles wirkte wenig einladend - insbesondere die Gänge zu den Zimmern und einen großen zu durchquerenden Saal. Beim Frühstück viel zu viel einzeln in Kunststoff abgepacktes Zeug.

Ich kann viele negative Bewertungen NICHT nachvollziehen und auch nicht bestätigen. Die Zimmer sind sauber und alles Nötige ist vorhanden. Auch das Personal war sehr lieb und zuvorkommend und das Frühstück war ebenfalls völlig in Ordnung. Ich habe mich dort wohlgefühlt. Im Vergleich zu anderen Hotels ist der Preis auch wirklich noch sehr human. Es ist vielleicht nicht das modernste, top-renovierte Hotel, aber man kann dort sehr gut übernachten.

Willkommen in den späten 70ern.
Hier scheint die Zeit stehen geblieben zu sein.

Vorweg: die Betten waren sauber !

Zimmer sind recht verwohnt und der Teppich strotzt vor Flecken, barfuß laufen mag man hier nicht riskieren.

Das Zimmer lag zur Hauptstrasse und trotz geschlossener Fenster, war es sehr laut.

A pros pros laut :

Die Zimmertüren haben sehr grosse Schlitzmaße, ist der Flur nachts beleuchtet, scheint das Zimmer es auch zu sein. Geht jemand am Zimmer vorbei, könnte man denken, die Person steht neben einem.

Das Personal war sehr nett, dies wird mich allerdings nicht dazu bringen hier erneut zu buchen !

Nicht gut!

Ich war mit Freunden unterwegs und habe drei Zimmer gebucht. Fahrstuhl wurde erneuert und deshalb konnte man ihn nicht benutzen. Zimmer waren sehr klein, man konnte die nicht richtig abdunkeln und in einem der Zimmer war der Fernseher kaputt. Wir haben reklamiert aber gemacht wurde nichts.

Das erste Zimmer was wir bekommen haben war sehr dreckig, hat sehr gestunken und im Bad war die Dusche kaputt. Darauf hin haben wir ein anders Doppelzimmer bekommen, aber selbst das war dreckig und sehr eng vom Platz.

Séjours agréable.

Personnel très sympa, lit confortable mais je pense que l'hôtel aurait besoin de rénovation/grand coup de nettoyage (il y a des trous dans les dalles du plafond, des grosses tâches sur la moquette etc...). Facile d'accès avec les transport en commun. Prix correct pour 2 nuits.

Rezeptionistin freundlich und zügig.
Hotel entspricht überhaupt nicht den Fotos oder den Beschreibungen.
Das Zimmer und das gesamte Hotel ist alt, sehr dreckig und heruntergekommen.

In unserem Zimmer, vor allem im Bad waren noch Haare der Vorgänger*in.
Überall Schimmelspuren in der Dusche und Dreck im Zimmer.
Wir werden dieses „Hotel“ definitiv nie wieder buchen und nicht empfehlen.

Geen rekening gehouden met invalide persoon , lift was defect.
Kreeg kamer op 2de verdieping. Kamer was heel klein. Personeel receptie onvriendelijk, bij klachten zeggen zij ik kan niets doen. Kamer worden niet verschoon, terwijl ik de kaart hang op de deur wel schoonmaken. Alleen Vuil geleegd, daarna kaartje omgedraaid niet storen. Kortom verblijf was niet leuk.
Geen aanrader.
Geen rust in kamer, kerk bellen gingen.

Fleckiger Teppichboden, Reinigung wäre dringenst nötig oder gleich tauschen!!
Im Badezimmer die Fugen neu machen, Fön mangelhaft. Hinweis auf das zuschalten des Warmwassers !!! Dauert ausserdem 1/2st bis es warm wird 😳😡

Für Übernachtungen super geeignet

Für mich war der dreitägige Aufenthalt super. Ich kann mich nicht beklagen. Das Einzige, was ich mir gewünscht hätte, wären schalldichte Türen, denn wenn jemand draußen auf dem Flur herum geht oder sein Zimmer öffnet, war das doch dezent laut zu hören. Sonst sehr empfehlenswert.
