We made reservations for 2 rooms to be next to each other with connecting door as we were with 4 children and told them ahead of time but when we arrived they could not open connecting door until next day which was upsetting. Rooms are outdated. Property is beautiful and in very lively part of town. You can walk to restaurants and clubs.

Firstly, I was upgraded to a larger room with was so kind of them! The room was cosy, very spacious, and most importantly clean. I hate bugs lol and this had very minimal bugs.

Breakfast was good, they have chefs making you fresh items such as eggs. This is also the only place I’ve been able to have sausages as they did chicken ones - thank you. Nice juices on offer and a wide selection of pastries, fruit, etc.

Staff are friendly and attentive. Water was hot all days I stayed other than the last morning.

The only downside is that the hotel is a lot better than the photos used on the website. They are definitely underselling themselves. There is a gym, a tennis and paddle court, a little playground for the kids, and the beach is fab.

I’d recommend Senegambia hotel and the onsite beauty salon is affordable too. I had a full body massage there which was great and had my pedicure and gel nails done too!

The location is good, you’re right on the strip (sometimes can be noisy but not that deep) loads of good restaurants around (I’d recommend Reos or Sallys 24 for good Gambian food, 3Chicks for British food or Casa Afriq for a nicer dining experience)

All in all, I enjoyed my stay. Thank you for making my 30th a great one!

A very enjoyable stay

The hotel is in a bustling tourist area but not as noisy as I feared. Easy to get around. Taxis are cheap. Lots of restaurants and cafes immediately outside. Very good breakfast selection. Helpful staff. Very clean room and clean around the hotel and grounds.

Second time staying here and it was just as good as the first. The service is impeccable and they really take care of their guests and the property.
The tiniest bug was that last time I rented an apartment that included a kettle for heating water. This time there wasn't one in the room as they're only in the apartments and not the other rooms. The staff found one for me so no issue at all really, just to let you know if it matters.

The staff make this hotel enjoyable. They are friendly, kind and helpful. I hope management pays them well because without their friendliness, I would rank this property lower. Generally, the property could use a refresh. My room was dark and the furnishings were old and chipped. The curtains should have been replaced years ago. The landscaping and pool areas are lovely, though, good job there. The breakfast is plentiful.

The rooms were nice and quiet. The walk to the beach is quick and the food selections was good. The only problems I had was the treatment from the staff. The staff treated me like I was not there by attending to other guest more. I went to lunch by the beach and the table was dirty and I asked to have one clean and I was told that after he finish cleaning the other tables he would clean mine.time went by and he forgot about my table, but if he wiped my table when I asked it would have been done. I had to ask a second time to someone else. The cleaning staff went unto my room early while I was at breakfast and said am I checking out, but I just checked in that night with a 2 day stay.

I have stayed at the Senegambia Beach Hotel many times before and it never disappoints. The staff all around the hotel are friendly and polite and can’t do enough to make your stay an enjoyable one. Jarra and Kemo at the beach pool are amazing guys who take care of everyone around the pool and are happy in their work. The breakfast is a various array of delicious food with egg and pancake chefs, you will not be disappointed! Can’t wait to return!

Beautiful tropical hotel with monkeys and vultures roaming the grounds. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Service at Oasis pool bar was very slow during the day, sometimes due to understaffing and sometimes due to staff talking not working. All in a terrific hotel right on the beach with it's position on the Strip there are 30 bar/restaurants, 5 shops, 20 money exchangers and 6 ATMs within 10 minutes walk. Highly recommended.

My only suggestion is that with the housekeeping staff as many tourists come to the hotel they may or may not need a housekeeper to iron some shirts at a moment's notice therefore more people need to be hired so that the housekeeping can have attendants offering a 24/7 service

I liked the location, because it was close to so many gift shops and restaurants. The room was clean at first glance, but the bed sheets were stained, the shower leaked terribly, and the towels were stained. Thank Goodness we brought our own towels and wash cloths.

I liked the location. It was easy walking distance to ATMs, mini-markets, restaurants and the Craft Market.

I didn’t like the room they gave me at check-in. And getting it changed to a more suitable room was a chore. I felt like they gave me the runaround about changing the room. I had to demand to speak to the hotel manager, who was the Operations Manager before I got my room changed.

The door to the refrigerator fell off or was propped up.

The TV didn't work.

I found two large cockroaches in my room. One was inside my shoe as I was tapping them together to knock the dust off, another dead on the bathroom floor.

The handicapped ♿️ bathroom was not to my liking. The bathroom mirror tilted downward and I couldn't adjust it to my height.

The front desk tried to convince me that this was an upgraded room from the standard room I booked. Regardless, even a standard room deserves cleanliness free of cockroaches, and working amenities.

A beautiful setting with friendly staff, who couldn’t do enough for you. We had a fabulous 10 days of relaxation and seeing the wonderful sights of Gambia.
The hotel is looking tired and unkept in parts but you can see where they have started to paint and revitalise the place. The hotel wasn’t full and therefore some bars and areas not open. I suspect they have been hard hit in the last 2 years and hopefully will be at full capacity next year.
A lovely breakfast and I will just keep coming back to see such wonderful gardens that are immaculately kept. So many staff keeping it spotless. A great holiday.

After a 30+ year gap I returned to the Senegambia Beach hotel for a visit.
It brought back happy memories of lovely stays there in the past.
The hotel and grounds are lovely and a tropical paradise.
My room was clean and comfortable. The daily room attendant service was very good.
The swimming pool by the reception is quiet and very well appointed.
The pool area by the beach is excellent too with a good range of snacks and drinks available until 6pm currently.
I prefer the beach but was shocked to see the sea erosion and a barrier of rocks to keep what is left of the sand there.
The hotel staff always say hello and are generally friendly.
I will definitely stay here again.

Due to the Pandemic no food or drinks are available at the hotel after 6 pm. The store in the hotel is closed. The restaurant in the hotel only served breakfast and lunch. Reception services are limited or not available. Security is very helpful and kind, especially if you need to leave the hotel to buy food and water.

Lovely hotel and we enjoyed the fact that it was quiet due to Covid with parts of hotel closed and very few guests staying. I don’t think we would have enjoyed it so much in high season if full as we tend to prefer a quiet hotel. We enjoyed the beautiful gardens, watching the birds and monkeys by day and the fruit bats at night. The room was comfortable and very clean. One restaurant was open for breakfast and the pool restaurant was open until six pm. However the food we had was good and there are plenty of restaurants outside within short walking distance. Staff were friendly and attentive. Parking was in a secure private area next to the hotel which was kept locked. Our car was cleaned by the staff every day.
The only thing to note is that there are many signs stating various rules throughout the hotel, in the gardens and around the pools. We understand it is necessary to inform guests but just felt it was a bit over the top

Many problems with the room (shower didn’t drain, no hook for mosquito net, safe didn’t work), and I had to request help four times before finally demanding they switch my room. Neighboring room told me they had to change rooms twice. Location is very convenient, and having two pools available was nice. Staff smiled a lot and were generally friendly, but supremely unhelpful. Beware that there are very loud poolside shows every night until 11pm. Hotel bill had to be paid in cash (even though room was booked with card), which was not advertised anywhere. Laundry service got done in one day, but cost US$30 for maybe 8 items. Overall, I don’t think I would stay here again.

This is a very good choice for a relaxed peace vacation in Africa. No other Americans at the resort but lots of Europeans. High standards, good food, Acres and acres of beautifully kept grounds. Excellent swimming pools. Ocean beach frontage. Ask for a garden villa unit, not one in the main lodge.

Breakfasts were very good, staff always eager to help and genuinely friendly. Gardens are beautiful with local birds including vultures and 2 species of monkey's making regular appearances. 2 pools is a great plus the one nearer reception is the quieter one, where as the beach pool is more lively with food and music.
Downsides - showers barely got above lukewarm after running for about 10 minutes. And as it was off season we were constantly bothered by beach sellers. Like people interrupting us while doing photos or having a conversations. It gets hard to be polite when it's the 20th time in a day. Maybe have an area at the end of the property where sellers can set up tables so unless you want to buy you don't keep getting hassled to buy another bracelet, necklace, watch, nuts, fruit, take a trip, horse ride,have a massage, sponsor someone's deaf school fees etc.

The hotel and its staff were very helpful and friendly - there was nothing too much for them to ensure that you enjoy your stay. A special 'well done' to the chefs and catering staff. The spreads put on for the festivities were amazing. I would certainly spend time there again. Also the entertainment team should be congratulated on the quality of the performers chosen. If you want a resort where nature is around you all the time, then choose this resort. Yes, there are sign posts everywhere but I still managed to lose my husband on the way back from the beach! It is huge!

Nice hotel within walking and taxi distance

I was overall happy with the hotel. I did not like the clause in their handout restricting visitors from being able to walk to your room. I was also not happy that I did not have a telephone in my room. I was told it was being updated while the hotel was in its off season.
