The hotel has many good facilities, but guests are not informed. Consequently, I had to go out and obtain most of the things or facilities that were easily available and accessible to guests. Additionally, there should be a clear explanation of the room facilities on the booking page for guests' convenience.
The cleaners are doing a great job. They take good care of the room, and the gate security was very vigilant. The receptionists are also friendly.

The maids did not always knock at the door before entry towels were not always ready one time there was no bed sheet to cover myself the table had woodworm breakfast was not always available ontime and we had to vacate room by 12 which was not good

They serve the same breakfast everyday. There was no television in my room in time or relaxation in my room. They were asking for 200 dalasi a day to hire a fridge. This is something that should be provided for guests to keep our drinks cold especially in the heat.

I do not think I will book that hotel again.

Great, if you are planning a budget holiday.

It is a good standard for a 2* hotel. Good customer service. Breakfast could have been more varied, but overall food is acceptable here. Badala Park is surrounded by lush vegetation and is nice and quiet. If you are looking for somewhere quiet, clean, away from the main tourist hub but in easy reach of it, and on a budget, this is the place for you. However, do not expect all the benefits of a 3 or 4 Star hotel. I have been coming to The Gambia for work and holidays for 24 years and this is acceptable standard for me with not much to complain about.

A great location, 5 minute walk from the beach. Breakfast same most days but enough choice so very good. Most of the staff very pleasant and hardworking, especially Lamin in the restaurant and the pool guy, name might have been Paul?? Room was spacious and recently painted, adequate for the job. Looks like the management are doing a overhaul, which would be beneficial. Overall a good experience, I would recommend.

Not a bad place to stay. My standard room consisted of two single beds pushes together, a fan and a toilet ans shower. No shower gel so get your own. Got a balcony where i did my workouts in the morning.
WiFi hardly works in the E block i was staying and i had to come to the bar by the pool to use it. Somedays it was completely down.
However it is strategically located. The Bertil Harding highway is up the road and you can be by kairaba avenue traffic lights in minutes abd senegambia strip in the opposite direction in minutes as well.
Ill recommend staying here. Just don't bank on the wifi!

Generally mediocre for a lovely site. Most staff were friendly apart from a couple of rude ones. Ok if your looking for cheap accommodation and monkeys running across your roof in the morning waking you up.

This is a great place to come if you are package tourist on a budget as the rooms were very basic. I got to room & there was no mosquito net or fan so I had to back to reception to request a fan in which a maintenance person then needed to come to my room to install it. The beer prices were good & the food was okay. Very close to the beach.

I have stayed at this hotel several times only because of the staff. The rooms are very basic and in need of an upgrade and coat of paint. Facilities are non existent there is one bar open eleven hours and one restaurant open for breakfast only. Lunch and dinner is available but in the form of bar snack only. That said you have to remember that you are after all in the missle of the jungle with wild monkey running across the tin roof of your room being your early morning alarm call

Badala Park is a short 300 walk to the beach. The rooms can be quiet dark as the complex is surrounded by palm trees. You also get great wildlife, as you eat your breakfast you may see a monkey or 2. I was in B Block as the monkeys could be heard though the night running abount on the roof, especially if tou are on the upper floor - but you soon get used to it. Breakfast is ok where there is fruit, beans, sauages, mushrooms, toast, porridge and freshly coomed eggs. Mosquitoes were quiet active this time of the especially if you get some humid nights...take repelent. For eveing meals, I ended up next door as JD'S (Jim, David and Sharon) lovely family run restaurant with great food and entertainment.

We where moved from this hotel seeing how they were still refitting it after a 2 hour delay at the airport and then to arrive at the hotel all in darkness we at to find taxis to take us to the new hotel if we had bern informed beforehand we could have travelled straight there without ibcurring further costs for taxis

It's ok for a brief stay but too much smoking!

Too much smoking in open areas despite a smoke free law in The Gambia. Very weak and slow internet. Plenty of small crawlies in ground level room.
You pay for everything - AC, TV even room safe!

My Experience At Badala Park

We arrived at the hotel a day earlier and had to pay for the night that was not part of our earlier booking via Expedia. That night was terrible. Air-conditioning attracted extra payment, no fridge in the room and to provide it, one needed to pay extra. Even TV was not provided and to get one will attract another charges. The toilet was blocked and to get us to use took it multiple visits by the plumber. The room was infested with mosquitoes and when we asked the receptionist to arrange to spray the room with insecticide, we were told it was not part of the deal. That if we wanted to spray the room, we should go to the shops to buy the insecticide and spray the rooms ourselves. We managed to stay a night there on the 22nd of Dec and the next day when our booking was to take effect we had to abandon the hotel for another hotel along the same avenue. We contacted Expedia and complained and David of Expedia took our call but could not reach the hotel because their phones were not going through. David told us that he would try again and again to get hold of the hotel manager and after he would contact us for follow-up but never did. I wanted to cancel the booking on the 23rd Dec but was advised by David not to do so online for we would lose 100% of money due to late cancellation for he would intervene to help switch us to another hotel but that did not happen. We paid for another hotel for 13 days and still there is no hope of getting our earlier payment for Badala park back.

OK ............................... but only just!

This place is fairly cheap so I was expecting the world but although overall I've said it was ok so many things let it down. Examples are:

* No wifi the whole time we were there. Every day I was told that someone was working on it and it would be fixed by tomorrow; it never was.

* On 4 out of the 7 days I was there I came back to my room late afternoon and ready for a shower only to find that they had taken my towel and not replaced it. I then had to tour the hotel to find the room boy to get a clean one.

* One day we were on a trip so needed to breakfast early. They advertise breakfast from 7am - 10am but when we got there at 7 it was deserted. It was 7.30 before they had set up, too late as we needed to go.

* Breakfast is a very limited affair with bread, cheese, ham, tomatoes and cucumber and omlettes. One day I was there just after 9 and the man in front took the last cheese and ham. I asked for some and the girl behind the counter said it was finished; when I asked her to get some more she said, 'when it's gone it's gone.'

It's not the most pleasant place you'll stay in, the room wasn't very clean, breakfast isn't great, but at this price you can't complain.I was just here for my first night, then moved on straight after breakfast, so it was fine for me.

Thehotel was adequate. The staff very friendly but not well organised. Breakfast should start at 7 a.m. but never ready on time. The power was more often than not off during the day despite the hotel having 2 generators which seem to be broken.. A disadvantage is one cannot pay by credit/debit card.

We reserved 2 rooms for 3 people but the next dauy the manager said we had only pre-paid for two people. We had to show him the expediate papers.
They have no internet.

The Hotel is laid out in blocks A-J
The mosquito netting is badly maintained and the door locks stiff or hard to turn
It is heavily staffed - Staff are very friendly - frequent 5 dalasi (20p) tips seem to be expected - and you should budget £2 / day for this (cleaners gardeners, Security etc.)
They are very poor people and these tips are more than their meagre wages

Rooms don't have TV but there is one in reception with BBC news channel
The paper seller outside the breakfast room sells used UK papers for 100 dalasi = £2

Nothing was stolen, no tummy problems and wearing long cotton clothes after sundown with Deet spray sorted the mosquito problem.

The days are hot 35 and the nights cool 15-20

The Bumsters at the gate sell (apart from Taxi trips + wood carvings) marijuana, native girls and also themselves.

there is a bicycle rack outside the front gate (50 D / hour)
AVOID the expensive green taxis - use the cheaper yellow ones

Es gibt nichts was für den Preis pro Übernachtung gegen das Babdala Hotel spricht !! Das Personal ist freundlich und zuvorkommend und aufmerksam . Ich möchte anmerken das man nicht mehr erwarten kann , ich werde es wieder buchen wenn möglich !!

Rent och fint men fruktansvärt otrevlig personal och chef. Personalen hävdade att min betalning i samband med bokningen inte gällde utan alla gäster måste betala på plats. Chefen informerade att personalen inte visste ”systemet” och att han inte hade för avsikt att informera sin personal om det. Chefen hänvisade attt det var Hotels.com som har ”sitt system”.
Min vän som bodde i annat rum hade inte fått handduk och filt. När hon sade till om det vägrade personalen först att ge henne det innan hon hade betalat en natt för rummet. Efter diskussion fick hon handduk och filt (som alltid ligger på sängen när man kommer).Städ-och poolpersonal var mycket vänliga och bjöd på leenden.

Ok hotell med fina uppträdanden 6dag/v!

Vi bodde här i 2 veckor. Det är en låg standard på rummen och uselt wi-fi. Men ett plus att rummen städas varje dag och man får då även nya handdukar. Stor och bra golvfläkt vid sängen. Balkong som vette ut mot poolområdet. Lite tråkig pool för småbarn om man är kräsen. Serveringspersonalen var lite si och så, en del mycket professionella och en del som hasade benen efter sig. God mat och det finns personal i serveringen/baren hela tiden. Det finns en scen vid poolen där det är uppträdanden och musik alla kvällar utan söndag. Det anordnas även tävlingar, bingo o dyl där. Mycket trevlig eventpersonal!

Vissa dagar spenderade vi bara på hotellet, men hälsade oftast på släkt/vänner i närområdet och besökte även marknader och krokodildammen.

Rommet var av det enkle slaget og det var tydelig gjort noen akuttløsninger i forhold til \"oppussing\", og det var OK - alt fungerte greit, bortsett fra safe og at dørlås måtte skiftes. Men oppholdet i rommet ble preget av malingslukt, som ikke var særlig behagelig! Sengene var forøvrig dårlige, med fjærer som ga seg til kjenne, dog uten å ødelegge nattesøvnen!

Prepare to be hassled

The area (Kotu) is hostile towards tourists. Tourists were hassled constantly, even inside the hotel by some staff members. The breakfast didn't last for every guest. The cleaning staff kept knocking the door until I opened. That happened multiple times. The staff tried to overprice taxis.

\"Aufregend\". Das Personal war immer freundlich und bemüht - der Service o.k. Leider war am großen Swimming-Pool jeden Abend Party. Nicht etwa von Gästen sondern vom Personal!!! Das machte die Nächte sehr kurz und anstrengend. Ansonsten für den Preis alles weitgehend in Ordnung.

Hotel recommandable pour un court sejour

J'ai été surpris de constater que les chambres n'ont pas de télé. il n'y a de climatiseur non plus contrairement a ce que j'ai lu sur le site hotel.com. Mais la cour, la piscine et l'animation sont très bonnes et j'ai beaucoup apprécie. Le petit resto Petit dej est aussi super et le petit dej est bien fourni.
