close to what you see in the photos. Very deceiving. Staff was nice. Our room bathroom smelled like poop, Just fan, no AC, it is a charge to have AC. There were LOTS OF CATS while eating breakfast. Our son was terrified as he doesn’t like cats.

There was no hot water, the light was intermittent, the television didn't work throughout my stay and the front desk staff were all quite inept, clueless and borderline rude. There were ants everywhere in the room.

The facility, people, food, views were excellent. We would definitely return. Only drawback was that it is isolated; no places to walk to/around. But the rest of the stay made up for that.

The linen was not changed in a timely manner. That raises questions about hygiene.
The toilet was not cleaned with sanitizer or bleach solution leaving the toilet with a discernible smell of urine. We had to purchase sanitizer from outside to clean the toilet.
There were large ants crawling in and out of the room through gaps in the doorways. Again, we had to purchase insecticide from outside to take care of the pesky ants.
Mr Drammeh (the tall one) and the restaurant crew did the best under the poor management that they find themselves in.
The level of management at this hotel is woefully inadequate. We wouldn't stay at this hotel again for even $5.

Restuarant and room staff brilliant. Reception staff made me extra money for a room already paid for and was taken to two rooms without bed being made or towels literally bared rooms as they were not expecting guests and the room was booked in advance

No-frills lodge

Budget lodge located at the western end of the Senegambia, near Turntable. Property is a bit worn, but the hosts are lovely and very friendly. The room would be better if air conditioning was included, but it comes at an extra charge. Also, no towels or soap are provided in the room. Mosquito net was large and covered the entire bed. Lovely wooden doors and furniture. Breakfast was OK, but it was a bit messy with drippings all over the serving trays - they should have someone there to clean as people are serving themselves. Wifi worked well. Overall, it was a reasonable stay.

Arrived early and was told by receptionist room hadn't been allocated. She gave us the intro to the hotel, told us about meals, breakfast and facilities etc. We were told to go to the beach and our room would be ready in a couple of hours. Having not moved from the beach, we returned to find we had been relocated to the next door hitel. No apology, discussion or any communication, just done and not even told about it! The reservation lead had done it and left for the day. The receptionist then denied telling us anything and said we would be relocated(one person didnt want to help and went on break!)
She then lied about coming to find us when other members of staff at the beach vouched that we were there and she hadnt come looking. The constant lying , changing stories, poor service and comminication was an awful experience (especially when this was known beforehand). Asked to speak to the manager, nobody around. receptionist was rude, confrontational and mismanaging the situation.
Totally understand at being overbooked, if we were told at the start that they were overbooked and we may be moved, no problem. The fact there was no communication(despite knowing this situation had arisen) is appalling service and client management.
Stayed at the sea view apartments next door, cannot have had a better stay. The staff were amazing, friendly and open, spoke honestly and empathise. Bigger rooms, nicer apartments, friendly people.Will return tothe sea view apartments for sure!!

Lemon Creek Hotel Gambia

Lovely hotel, friendly staff. The hotel was clean and tidy. We loved the location as it was a peaceful holiday that we were after. The hotel grounds are nice and it is close to the beach. Would definitely go there again. Thank-you Lemon Creek.

Good for vacation, not business travel

The staff was friendly and helpful as much as they could, but inconsistent with their policies and not very accommodating with some business-related requests the team had. We needed documents printed, quick meals, stable internet, etc. However, these were not always available.

The rooms are a little tired, the shower didn't have hot water in the mornings and the towels and sheets didn't always smell very great.

The location was good and near the airport.

I would recommend people stay there for vacation, not necessarily business-related travel.

The Gambia is known for its bad road but the road leading to the hotel is one of the worst but the hotel ground is beautiful. For an area full of fresh fruit to offer the hotel only had bananas. breakfast wasn't restocked but they due offer made to order omelets if there are any eggs left. The pool area looks great but the pool itself was more like a Stillwater it seems to lack a cleaning pump and filter. they cleaned it but it always had a lot of debris and bugs. My hotel bathroom was infested with ants. No compensation was offered when I brought the issues to their attention. The best thing about the hotel is its friendly staff.

Wish I could remember the name of the front desk man who personally drove us to the bus station before dawn. He went above and beyond to help us and did not request payment. Enjoyed talking to all of the staff at the hotel. Mediocre room with cold shower. Too many locals on the beach approach trying to sell something where it seemed to me this was better regulated at a different hotel where I also stayed. Beautiful views of the ocean. Overpriced for the type of hotel and location.

Quiet, close to beach with lovely waiting staff.

Pros: Location/ views/ quiet and food was nice.
Cons: Restaurant could be more reasonable/ don't use hotel taxi just walk to road and get a regular one for half the price and ignore the hassle from them.

Could be paradise

Set in a wonderful location with amazingly helpful staff this could be paradise. Sadly the few pool side loungers are all broken and no real tables to place drinks. Gorgeous beach with tatty plastic loungers and no hotel service.
Oddments of chairs and tables in grounds inadequate to sit and enjoy surroundings. Breakfast is a bit of a non event.
However the restaurant meals are excellent along with all the staff.
Such a shame the owners don’t seem to be looking after this lovely older style spacious hotel.

Perfect location, beach front.

The hotel could do with a major refurbishment. Towels and sheets have seen better days and every door and window has gaps. Very good and friendly staff who are very helpful. Breakfast was ample with eggs cooked to order although don't ask for one sided cooked eggs fried as they will be raw or over easy as they are hard !!
Reastaurant food was disappointing in the evening, snack lunch menu was better value.
All in all a budget hotel and was exactly what I expected it to be for the price I paid.
Would I stay again ? Probably not until it's had a refurb.

Excellent wild life - monkeys visiting hotel for nuts and birds to name just two. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms cleaned to a high standard and sheets changed every day. Great proximity to beach with tight security in and around the hotel. Downside was hotel did not offer local cuisine, but assisted by a local we were able to eat at a renown local eatery in Senegambia where food was fantastic. Hotel offered live entertainment from singing and piano playing, drumming and acrobats - excellent! Hotel good for solo travellers and families alike. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to those travelling to The Gambia on a reasonable budget this hotel.

Landing strip to beach in under and hour!

I found Lemon Creek on Hotels.com as a stop over on the way from Banjul to Senegal but we enjoyed it so much we decided to incorporate the resort into our holiday and spent Tobaski there on the way back to the airport. The staff go above and beyond to accommodate all your needs including free room service, towels by the pool, and a secluded beach area. I highly recommend Lemon Creek - put your bathing suit on top of your bag because you'll be on the beach within an hour if not thirty minutes of landing!

Just brilliant

This was a great hotel. The website really doesn't do it justice. It's right on the beach, and the accommodation itself is brilliant. The staff are very friendly and the accommodation is all kept super clean. The pool is fab and every now and again you can spot a monkey or two playing in the trees nearby! It's a great location from which to get to other tourist attractions. The local guides and taxi drivers are brilliant too. I'd definitely head there again with the family.

Lovely hotel close to the beach

We stayed at the end of May which is off the holiday season. We had no problem with checking in very late at night and we were informed that if we didnt like the room, we could move the following day when the day staff were around. We were shown a room in one of the new blocks which we preferred so we moved. And we were not disappointed. It was clean, larger and had ocean view which was lovely. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and we will definitely stay here again, much, much better than Senegambia Hotel.

T.L.C NEEDED to make this resort accepable again

A lovely setting with attractive gardens,although a little remote.The apartments were very tired, the condition and the facilities in the room were poor i.e very little storage,kitchenette were falling apart and the shower room was far from perfect,but did function.The catering breakfasts/diner were great and the staff were helpful and friendly.\"it was really ashame about the accommodation condition\" Poolside bar good but needed more than just one umberella

Lovely find, with peaceful gardens to beach

Great little find, big rooms, advise don't pay the extra for a studio with kitchen as not req. They provide you with a fridge in the standard room and the rooms are big. The food was lovely and above all staff were always polite, helpful and smiling.
Onlyy 300 dalasi return into the strip. But many other hotels and restaurants walkable. Fatou , fruit lady gave great portions and Babu juice man was very friendly and delicious juice.

1- For some emrgency I asked to check out one day earlier.Hotels.com sent email to thr hotel.Hotel informed me they will send approval to Hotels.com
Unfortunately they didn't
They had money for three days whereas I stayed two.
2- Room towels only one and look not clean

Les employés à la réception n'était pas très sympathiques mais ceux du restaurant et les de l'entretient étaient beaucoup plus amicaux. L'hôtel est bien. Par contre, il fallait payer un supplément pour la climatisation de 10 euros par jour et aucune mention à ce sujet.

Et IT- og Wifi-mæssigt er sort hul.

Hotellet ligger perfekt vid Atlanten, med milsvida sandstränder och för dem som vill roa sig lite mer finns Senegambias utbud några minuter bort i taxi. Städningen är mycket bra och maten i hotellets restaurang är bra.
Personalen är vänlig och tillmötesgående om du behöver hjälp, men det saknas en portier på hotellet. Hotellområdet är kuperat med stenbelagda gångar och det saknas en kärra som kan transportera bagage eller andra tyngre föremål mellan reception och hotellrum. Det saknas också kryckor och rullstol om olyckan skulle vara framme.

Ett inslag som många tycker är trevligt är den lilla apkoloni som finns på området med jämna mellanrum. 10-15 gröna makaker som tyvärr matas av obetänksamma turister. Det gör att du kan ha en apmamma sittande på balkongräcket när du minst anar det. Hon är först och främst ute efter bananer eller annan frukt, men vill det sig illa kan du bli av med mobilen om du lämnat den ute på balkongbordet.

Överlag ett trevligt mellanklasshotell med fördelar och nackdelar.

De accommodatie was in feite OK : rustig, mooie kamer, goede ligging, goed ontbijt . Wat alles evenwel kapot maakte, was dat er 1000 euro uit onze kamer 61 gestolen is . Vermoedelijk door poetsvrouw omdat enkel zij toegang tot de kamer had . In dit verband ook heel arrogant behandeld door de general manager Jim . Bovendien weigerde hij elke tegemoetkoming of ondersteuning . Wat begon als een sprookje is geëindigd in een nachtmerrie !
