Beautiful resort like hotel with great staff and service. It wasn't very busy during our stay, which made it seemed a bit weird but at the same time we appreciated the sereneness and peacefulness of the place. Welcome fruits and housekeeping was top notch.

Front desk lady was not nice

The front desk lady was not nice. When I asked if the hotel can help to call a taxi tomorrow morning to airport, she simply stated no such service. During the check-in, never saw her smile feeling you are not welcomed to this hotel. The next morning, the gentleman in the front desk helped me to call a taxi easily.

This is the trade off when it’s cheap. I stayed again in this hotel within 6 month. This time it’s for 2 weeks, everything has happened
- forgot my breakfast order the first morning
- asked me to change room at 11PM because their hot water pipe has broken
- new room is smaller and cranky and it smells
- AC stopped working after a week so the room is like 26°C after shower, I had the WORSE sleep. And their explanation is that they keep the central AC at 24° after the temp drops below certain degree but comm it’s a tropical city how cold can it be?

I stay here all the time. The service changes from day to day. Food is better if you are in the new building or the connecting building. The remote buildings have a smaller kitchen and only offer limited of food, usually cold. Beds are FIRM / HARD. Pillows are wonderful. I lay on them for my back. Utilities are good, internet can be tricky. Holidays are not quiet, usually weddings, or other events.
Overall, good review. I've tried others.

Close to airport; nice property - allows you to wander the grounds and get some 'leg stretching' if you would like. I personally like the pool area, although I wonder why there's no proper gym, as in most hotels these days there's a fully updated gym. It's a nice place to stay - I'd say a solid 3.5 stars to 4 stars at the highest (for the 7 story place), but for the price it's above value. I've been staying here for over 15 years when it's gone through different ownership and pretty much consistent attention.

The staff was very accommodating and let us check in early!! The fruit in the room was a nice gesture. The water massage therapy pool is AMAZING...wish we would've checked it out earlier. The shuttle back to airport was full and we used all of our yuan on snacks...so the Manager of hotel arranged for one of her drivers to take us..so thoughtful. Wish we can bring the 5 star level of service back to USA. We will definitely stay here again and even recommended the hotel to a few friends.

Facilities and service both very good.
The only drawback is that the bungalows are generally for VIPs as I understood so may not be in full use hence a bit \"smelly\" from long locked up when first entering.

Decent hotel, but wouldn't stay there again.

For the price the hotel was good. The room was kind of dingy and the maids didn't wipe the counters and stuff down each day. The room was straightened but I was not impressed with the cleanliness. The room was non-smoking but it still smelled heavily of smoke. It was a cheap room and the hotel staff was amazing, but overall wasn't too impressed.

Hotel offers free shuttle from airport to hotel, we called to schedule and they never arrived.

The WiFi didn’t work, and the Room temperature was hot.

The staff is not friendly

We ask for our money back for the transfer and they did give to us, but not friendly at all .

Hotel is a well maintained top level 5 star hotel in this city.
The room was very comfortable and had all the needed accessories.
Breakfast was very good.
However, it's location - though quiet and good neighborhood, is not within walking distance of restaurants, stores or such - only a short drive from such places.
Best hotel I have stayed in Xiamen so far.

OK, but not my favorite in Xiamen.

The hotel is above average. We arrived very late due to \"air traffic control\" delays and the room we booked was in \"another\" building which would have delayed getting to bed even further, so we had to opt for an \"upgraded\" room in the building where you check in. Nothing in the reservation information mentioned that our reservation was for another building \"next door\" and that you needed to take a golf cart to get there. I prefer a more straight forward one building hotel without the rigamarole of needing to go to another building for either check in or check out.

Nice, comfortable, clean hotel

I stayed in the C&D for 6 nights, and it was a very pleasant experience. The rooms are well-maintained and clean, Staff is courteous and helpful. Their English is highly variable and sometimes there can be a little difficulty communicating, but there is usually someone with better English who can be called. The breakfast was very good in my opinion, with lots of western and Asian selections. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience at the C&D and I would book with them again.

Great traditional hospitality in XIAMEN

One thing I have to complain is that a guest was smoking in the non-smoking lobby and I didn't see the staff trying to stop him. The tourists' quality does vary a lot in China and the hotel staff needs to enforce the rules.

Nice hotel near airport

I stayed only one night because I had a long layover. I called the hotel to book a shuttle. My Chinese is poor but they had someone on staff that spoke some English. We were able to communicate. Sure enough, there was someone at the airport when I arrived. The check-in process went smoothly. The entire staff was friendly and I felt welcomed. The room had western accommodations and room service (I arrived too late to eat at the restaurants). Over all, I enjoyed my experience.

Good old-fashioned service remains at C&D

This hotel itself is showing some age (31 years). However, the interior is renovated well enough so I don't have big complaints there. The bright spot of this place is the people and services. I was able to interact with the cleaning staff, counter staff, service manager, security guards, and operator during my stay. In all occasions I found them well trained and are able to communicate with me courteously in a relaxed manner. This really is rather rare in mainland China. Even large/new resort hotels can't necessarily train their staff with this style. I was told that this is the first high end hotel in Fujian and used to host visitors of the State. I guess traditions does remain and it shows. Highly recommended.

I thought I'd get an upgrade this time. I selected a \"deluxe\" room rather than the \"superior\" room I've stayed in in the past. Well, the rooms are much older, plumbing older, etc. They are in a different part of the campus and the breakfast area isn't as efficient as the previous location. I selected to walk to the other location and eat there. All in all, good place for the $. The A/C doesn't work in the winter, had to open a window to get some cool air and air out the place. Stuffy when I arrived. Booking thru here is cheaper than thru the hotel or thru a China agent. I'll be back, next time in a \"superior\" room. Enjoy your stay.

If you asked me, I would say this is the best hotel I've visited by far! I travel very frequently due to the nature of my work, and this hotel totally won my heart in every aspect! From the pick up from airport, to the frontline service staffs, to the room, everything was beyond what I had experienced before, and I would declare its better than the 6 stars hotels that i been too. Good job guys! I'd love to stay there again even though its off the city. Fantastic place!

An oasis in Xiamen worthy of a stay.

Beautiful hotel surroundings, garden and lake, made this stay really nice. A small peaceful oasis in the middle of Xiamen. Hotel room furniture was a little dated but comfortable and clean. Included buffet breakfast was very good and ample variety. Very pleasant helpful staff. For the price and the beautiful grounds I'd definitely stay here again.

Got a room upgrade by actually a downgrade

We booked a Deluxe Bay VIew Garden Room from 15 - 18 Aug 2015 (2 adult and a 2-years-old child). Suppose the check-in time is 14:00. Due to the flight delay, we arrived at the hotel at 15:30. However, we were told that there were no rooms available and have to wait for 1 hour for the room. The staff told us that they have upgrade our room type to a Suite. Yes, the room type was upgraded, but the bay view (or garden view) was missing. We can only see old residential building thought our room's windows. It was actually a downgrade. We are quite disappointed about their arrangement. Besides, the Bay View Room should be located at a newer building (Xinyue Building), but we were arrange to stay at Tianfeng Building, which is an older building.

We requested a crib upon booking but no crib were arranged (It was expected as we got an \"upgrade\"). We requested two more times and finally the crib arrived.

Especially say thank you to HSKP staff as they responded to our requests efficiently. During the stay, they made some animals by towels every day. Don't know it is the hotel policy or what, HSKP staff do not take tips.

Children playroom are well equipped. Children will have fun inside there. The gardens in the hotel keeps very good condition, it is nice to have a walk. Not much mosquito around the hotel, good pest control.

Must try the Chinese Restaurant. Their food are extremely delicious. Room Services are also good and both price are reasonable

Enjoyable stay in C & D Hotel

Stayed for 4 nights in May (two nights each at Haiyu Building and Tienfung Building). We found the hotel staff to be friendly, polite and helpful. All staff from the guest services managers, bell boys, cleaners, swimming pool attendants and shuttle bus drivers were dedicated to serve the customers energetically and professionally. There is a spacious garden area for the hotel guests to relax and jog. It is suitable for stay for the whole family from young and old. We would like to stay in this hotel when we visit Xiamen again in future and would recommend it to our friends and relatives as it is good value for money for choosing this hotel.

I arrived late and was annoyed that I had to go to another building but the shuttle was quick and the payoff huge. The room was massive and well equipped. The staff wouldn't let me lift my own bag and were reluctant to take a tip. The breakfast was very good and checkout a breeze. I had mentioned my flight number when I checked in, the staff found me at breakfast and had their shuttle waiting to take me to the correct terminal. My only complaint is that I didn't get to stay another night.

Exceptional staff and service. Hotel grounds beautifully maintained and quite large, with a number of buildings surrounded by gardens. Hotel has morning shuttles to major tourist spots and the ferry terminal, making it very convenient. Room was comfortable. The food in the Chinese restaurant on site was good except for a soup which tasted a bit odd, it was exchanged for a better tasting dish.

The best thing about this hotel is the staff and the surrounding park and gardens. In particular Jimmy at the reception was exceptionally good in helping me arranging my excursion trip to the Tulous. You can go out in the morning for a nice walk around the parks and gardens surrounding the hotel.

Great pool, unbelievable gardens - wonderful room.

Arrived on a holiday Monday and had business on Tuesday but could not get a flight arriving Tuesday so had longer in the hotel that I would normally.

I was upgraded to an Executive Suite in the upper building and the room was great, as was the selection of drinks and treats in the lounge, great coffee.

What I found astounding about this hotel was the gym, the fantastic indoor gym and the on site private botanical garden which I went to twice. I was able to arrive early, get a ton of work done, work out twice and swim in their incredible pool. Great staff. The location is a bit far from where I usually stay but it worked out very well and I would look forward to staying there again.

The hotel is not as close to the \"downtown core\" but the hotel provides shuttle bus to Zhongshan Road and other tourist spots; you will have to take taxi or public transit to come back to the hotel though. fantastic hotel with high service standard

Honestly I didn't expect much of the hotel when the booking was made. However I am surprised at their service everyday during our stay. The staff, whether receptionists or janitors, received proper training on how to serve the guests the best. They greet us in the hall way, help to arrange a golf car to take us to the garden(btw it's a must visit for jogging lovers and for couples during the night as well), show us the way when we appear to be lost down at the lobby...etc. I cannot thank enough how much they have taken care of us and helped proactively. BTW, the hotel buildings are sparingly distributed so you will never get the same feeling if you stay in a modern business hotel branch. The whole point is to get away from the city buzzes. The buffet breakfast offer a good range of choices and overall very well done.

Great Hotel

My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night while stopping over in Xiamen. The facilities were great, and the gardens were beautiful. We had a wonderful morning walking around the gardens taking in the scenery, it was like we were in another world. Also, the breakfast buffet was amazing. I have never been anywhere, seriously, where there was more of a selection at breakfast. We could have stayed there for two hours and continued to go back and get new things to eat. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Xiamen.

The best hotel ever!

If you have the opportunity to travel to Xiamen, China, this is the place to stay! The price was excellent through Orbitz.

I have had a lot of experience in China, and this is by far the best hotel ever in all of China. The building is amazing, the on premise Japanese and Chinese Restaurants are AMAZING!

The courtesy of the staff is at an amazing level. They speak excellent English and Japanese. They will do anything to make your stay comfortable.

On a return trip back to Xiamen, I booked online. But they had no rooms, but the booking went through. They did everything they could to find me a room, found me one in the Tian Building (this hotel is actually 3 different buildings), upgraded my stay, and did not charge me any extra.

They took me to the airport the next day, and had a boxed breakfast waiting for me since I had an early flight, and could not make their normal breakfast.

There are too many great things about this hotel to list. I highly encourage anyone to stay here. You will have a great time.

(Trust me, they think of everything here, and will do it before you even think you need it!)
