Comfort on Thonglor

Nantra de Comfort is a small hotel, located on a quiet side street, in the Thonglor area off Sukhumvit, ~15 minutes walk from the BTS. Service at the hotel is barebones, but your linens, towels and daily water ration will be refreshed at your request. The staff are detached but friendly if you need anything. A simple breakfast of cereal and toast are available in the morning. There is a terrific little coffee shop called 'What the Cup located right across the alley, which serves one of the finest cappuccinos in Bangkok.

Nantra de Comfort

The Nantra de Comfort is a minimum service hotel. The staff are friendly but detached, for example you are entitled to 2 bottles of water/day but you will have to seek them out as well as fresh towels. The hotel is located in a quiet side street off of Thonglor ~ 12 minutes walk from the BTS.

Clean and very quiet hotel. Really convenient for food and fun and grocery if needed. Great location. Easy to get to from airport. Rooms are not the most luxurious but if you're on a budget and don't want to stay in a hostel this is the place. Budget but good.

Cheap and nasty

This hotel is cheap but it should be cheaper. It is situated down a dingy alley and is hard to find, my taxi driver drove past it 4 times before I spotted the sign in the alley. The alley itself has litter in it so your first impressions are not good, and this is not misleading.
The staff at this hotel do not know what customer service is. They know how to take your money when you check in and how to take more money when you check out. Then they immediately lose interest. They don't speak English and they don't smile. I tried to engage the staff a few times by saying hello (Sawade khap) as I went past the front desk, but at best all I got was a puzzled look. Most times they don't even look up, as if they want to pretend you are not there. The cleaning woman was miserable and a bit aggressive. She just scowls and mutters \"Room!\" and then gives the room a cursory wipe - but only if you remember to put the \"Please clean my room\" sign on the door. If you forget to do that, no cleaning for you!
There are no balcony's for the rooms. There is a space where a balcony could be, but instead that space is taken up by a neon sign and an a/c compressor. You have a view of this sign and the compressor from your window. That area was filthy for my room - see the picture - with trash and dirt over it.
The hotel generally is rundown and depressing, I have only ever stayed at one worse hotel and that was in Paris. The staff at this hotel should take a holiday in Bali to see how to run a hotel.

I booked this room because of $14 price and it was too much for condition of room. I have stayed in places in Cambodia for $10 to $15 that were much nicer than this place. This was built in 2009 and they have done no upkeep and the ceiling and walls in bathroom were covered in mold so whole room smelled bad, had to leave windows open all day just so I could sleep. Just behind this hotel is small alley and when the people who work in the businesses get off work at 1am they make all kinds of noise for about an hour each night before they go home

This hotel does NOT accept credit cards. Booked a standard room with a queen bed. Room was not available and was upgraded to a \"better room\" in the main building. Room had 2 single beds, the cover in one was torn in a couple places. Room and the hotel are old, dated and not very clean. Dirt marks on the wall, and were mosquitos had bee squashed. Shower area had a broken towel rack. Towels of low quality. Tv useless, full of static. Staff did nothing when told. Place is in an alley far from Sukhumvit road, very long walk to BTS station. Many restaurants around- mostly Japanese. Was in a room in the back and could hear noise from the alley behind far into the night. There is a computer available if you need one. Had to ask for clean towels and water. There is Not a safe in the room or one available in the hotel.

AVOID THIS ONE

This hotel, try to get customers by displaying a false advertising. In photos the place looks adequate and clean, but the reality is quite different. Travelocity should be more cautious before promoting this kind of hotels on its website, cockroaches showed up from the beginning , it is disgusting to deal with this kind of problem. The first night after a long flight from New York, all I needed was a deep sleep, but during the early morning my dream was abruptly interrupted when a filthy cockroach walked on my face.
This is one of the most disgusting experience anyone can have in your life, this was not a shelter, it was the hotel that I got through Travelocity.
Later when I placed the complaint, staff only said that the cleaning ladies will spray insecticide in the room, what I realized was this is a problem in the hotel and they have been unable to resolve it or they don't care. Also they told me that there is no refund on my booking and the rest of the hotel is full booked....

Affordable Option in Thonglor

Gets the job done if you're looking for affordable accommodation in Thonglor. Check in is at 2pm. Room gave off old impression but was clean. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from Thonglor BTS and is surrounded by tons of great restaurants, bars, cafes and clubs.

Need a room for the night so I booked their smaller room. Was greeted by a very grumpy lady and a more congenial young man. After checking in I was informed that my room was in the adjacent building.

After immediately entering the building I noticed dead bug on the floor, paneling from some space under the stairs revealing mildew covered walls and a faint stench and no lift. Be sure to duck when walking up the stairs or be prepared to smack your head.

Room had space enough for a bag and the bed. Five minutes after entering I had to go for a walk the room was so depressing. Don't leave even the slightest crumb of food laying about or it will be invaded by little bugs that appear from nowhere.

All in all in staying there the only thing I could think about was getting out of there and spending a few bucks more for something that's habitable. Checked out early the next morning and ran to my next hotel.

Someone was asleep on the floor behind the reception whilst we were being told about our room. The room was next door on the fourth floor and as soon as you walked in to the building you could smell sewage. Really grubby entrance and we carried our cases up the four flights smelling the stink all the way. Towels and pillows on the landings.
The bed was clean and comfortable enough but the smell was awful. We put tiger balm on our noses to mask the smell. Towels were torn.
We would have gone else where but it was late at night. A really bad experience on our last night in wonderful Thailand

The staff seemed indifferent. I'd arrived 2 hours early and they told me no rooms were available yet despite not having checked my reservation to see which type of room I had reserved and if somebody had already checked out and the room had been cleaned. They gave me a key to my room but not to access the other entry. But the sheets were clean and the wifi sufficient.

Used this place as a one night stopover before taking the bus to Pattaya. Having stayed in many low budget rooms across Thailand I can say with some confidence that the one I was allocated was below my expectation, compact and rundown albeit functional.

Not easy to find

It took the taxi a long time to find this place as the address in Thai was not accurate. Finally arriving at the hotel, they gave me the same rate as a walk in. I did explain that it was book before from the website and that it was supposed to be a different rate and I had to pay full price to get a normal size room.

The first room was having a humidity smell, very small and the second room, that I paid extra, was decent. The breakfast is consisting of toast and instant coffee.

The location is quite good after you did find the place for the first time. It was walking distance to many restaurants and 1 km to the BTS.

Left Early

Initially couldn't find a taxi driver who could locate it. When I got there, staff were ok. Room was clean, bed comfortable and reasonably quiet. The problem was the size of the room......three sides of the bed are tight agaist a wall....on the remaining wall is a sink with approx 18 inches fom the bed. No room for more than a place to drop your bag/case. Obviously no wardrobe. Thats an upside down towel rail on the ceiling!!
The good bits....enjoyed a good nights sleep......the staff didn't charge me for the days I booked, just the 2 nights I stayed.
For some people, I can understand why they they rated it higher than me, as it may well have been considered good value for money.

Upgrade from a hostel

I recently returned to Bangkok for a 3 month stay. I had read mixed reviews online about the Nantra de Comfort hotel, but having some familiarity with the Thonglor area (which is nice) and noticing that the price included an inexpensive option for breakfast, I decided to book a short trial stay. I opted for the budget room, so I can't really comment on the other types of rooms.

Pros:
1) Breakfast is served between 7 and 10 am. Coffee and water seem to be available 24/7, though I didn't avail myself of this.

2) The hotel is in the middle of things just off a busy street. You can easily walk to and from the BTS, even with your bags. (I did so twice with two large rolling bags.)

3) It has a nice TV in the room, if that's your thing. I rarely turn the TV on, even during a long stay.

Cons:
1) The room is so small as to be claustrophobic. With the exception of the little nook where the bed is placed, the room is less wide than the length of the bed.

2) There is no closet, only a small bar by the bed to hang clothes. I would say it is perhaps 2 feet (60 cm) wide. There is no dresser so you are forced to live from your suitcases. And unfortunately, there is no floor space for your suitcases.

3) The aircon, which is cold, is located at the foot of the bed, so it's blowing in your face all night. I didn't like this, and solved this problem by reversing my bedding so that my head was under the aircon and it was blowing on my (covered) feet.

4) The toilet seat was broken, so that you had to sit v-e-r-y c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y to avoid sliding off onto the floor.

5) The towel rack was broken, so whenever you used it, it would fall apart. It could be manually fixed, but every time you removed your towel, it would fall apart again.

6) There is no window in the room--except in the bathroom. Be careful leaving that one open, however, as mosquitoes will join you in your room.

7) The walls need repainting.

Now outside the room

8) The breakfast is only toast and cereal and fruit coffee, tea and water. The first day I woke early and went down thinking breakfast started at 6 am rather than 7 am. I sat down at a table to wait and watched them finish setting up the breakfast before 6:30. No other activity before 7, but I had to wait. (Though I didn't ask if I could start early. However, the receptionist also didn't invite me to go ahead and start.)

9) The receptionists don't speak much English and haven't been properly trained in customer service. When I checked in, they gave me two key cards, but didn't tell me what they were for, so I had to try to figure it out for myself. (One gets in into the separate budget building and your room. The other enables the electricity in your room.)

I tried to figure out who the \"target audience\" is for this hotel. I decided that for backpackers, this would be a perfectly fine upgrade from a hostel. For most people, however, there are better options out there.

Budget Motel

The price justifies what you ought to expect - a compact room with basic amenities. Located on an odd numbered soi, with the Pan Pacific right across on the even numbered soi, it's kinda wedged in a little alley. On the corner of that alley, appears to be some kind of hostess lounge; although it feels a little dodgy, I had no problems nor did any of the ladies attempt soliciting me.

Check-in went ok and the front desk was quite friendly. However, 20 mins later after I took a shower I noticed some little vermin scuttling across the floor. Mentioned the roaches to the front desk and they didn't seem too surprised, but very apologetic and offered to change room immediately. Refund however, was not an option they were agreeable to - my proposition was that I check out right there and then, and they simply refund the 2nd night I'd booked.

New room on a higher floor, at the end hallway - guess it was a corner room. No roaches, slightly bigger than the 1st room. Airconditioner worked fine, complimentary wifi and 2 bottled waters. In-room safety deposit box worked fine as well. Bed wasn't too comfy for me but I'll put that to personal preference as someone that prefers soft mattresses and pillows.

Short haired woman works a lot of shifts, she wears a hoody most of the time and is very rude. Not that warm Thai hospitality I'm used too. Apart from that, cleaning of rooms stops like before lunch, who the hell wakes up before lunch in BKK. Room wasn't cleaned for 5 days. Asked for extra towels, got told to collect from the reception...

our room was clean and neat, private bathroom A/C . It is close to the sky train, about 5 min walk. Even though it's is not in the so called touristy area we loved it. Taxi is cheap anyways. We ate right here on our street the food vendors are great.
Staff doesn't really speak Englishman but they are friendly.
We found it a great value deal for those who like to have a clean a quite place .

the worst hotel ever

is located in a dark ally, to find the hotel was very difficult because like a said is inside an ally, the room is so basic, that you dont have a closet, or draws to place your stuff, if you want to work on your computer do it standing, because no chair to seat, in the toilet not even a place to leave the soup while taking a bath, no windows in the room, if you like to feel inside a walking closet while you travel, then this is the perfect place

This was already the second time we stayed at this hotel. I made an online booking for the Economy room and when we arrived we were given one of the larger rooms. This was a pleasant surprise which we enjoyed. Towels and sheets were clean, so was the bathroom. The room could use a paintjob as some of the walls look worn. It takes about a 1.5h to get to the Suvarnabhumi airport by public transport (trains).

I aaked for another .I was moved to 4th floor of the building with no elevator.When asked for help with my laguage , I was told their was none because I booked an economy room. The hotel is quite expensive considering what we have played where else in Thailand, saying that its in a good area with lots of restaurants and massage places- however ..... All the restaurants around there are quite expensive- until we visited over places jn Bangkok we didn't realise how much more it was in that area. The hotel staff refused to call us a taxi to the train station even though we aske several times and were just told to wait on be corner and flag one down, the problem is the station we were going to was quite far so we were waiting for about 15 minutes until a taxi said he could take us tere. It was really noisy at night time considering it was on a back alley street, a generator or something like that was next to our window. I would recommend this hotel for max 2 nights as that is what we had... But no longer- wen we booked we got a discount from Expedia, if we didn't I would not be happy. Staff apart from tht incident were lovely.

Let down by condition

Warning: Unclean and drainage problems.

I don't like to grade down hotels, as you get what you pay for and this one is in a great location and value for money at Bangkok rates. However the room we stayed in was in desperate condition. They need to sort out cleaning. Pile of hair in the corner when we arrived. The sink drain stinks like nothing I've ever smelt. So bad that we left and booked another room rather than put up with it for another night.

Management, if you read this: please sort it out. I love your hotel in ways. All it would take is a little follow up on your house keeping, and someone to sort out that drainage problem!! Sleep in room 205 for a night and you'll understand.

Drains Smell

Great location, buy let down by a complete lack of cleanliness. Booger attached to headrest with hair hanging from it was the highlight. Drains smell very bad at night, excerbated by the fact that the sink is 2 feet from the bed. Unbearable smell kept us up all night and in the end we opened the windows to let the hot air in instead.

An affordable hotel in soil Thong Lor, around 8-10 mins walk from BTS. Many dining options in the area. The hotel is clean and new.

A few things to be noted;
-there is hot water machine but still, we only get lukewarm water. No hot water as expected
-'standard' room means 'economy' room. We didn't receive some amenities mentioned in the booking website. For example no kettle and tea/coffee in room.

This hotel is 15 minutes walk from BTS Thong Lo. Nothing really much to see around the area. There are however lots of Japanese restaurants and 24 hour BK and a starbucks. This hotel is at a cul de sac, however i think i got the room closest to the main road so there was some noise, but this did not affect me much as i had earplugs. Room could do with a little touch up in places, but it was spacious, and the air-conditioning was cold. Only complaints are the floor could have been swept more, and there was no hot water! Staff were helpful and friendly, especially the main guy at reception (you know who you are). Overall I would recommend this place as it is good value for money. It has free simple breakfast, free wifi ( although this was not the most reliable), all for a very reasonable price. If you don't fancy the 15 mins walk to BTS station, taxis in bangkok are cheap.

Look forward to my next visit

Room was tidy, limited cable channels, a/c worked great. Liked how the space was maximized even though room was smallish. Didn't get room to hang out in, but to have a place to sleep and clean up. Location was good. Actually very quiet in little side Soi off busy Thonglor soi 55. Easy walk to BTS and only about 30 minutes to many other areas.
Staff was informative and there was a continental breakfast. I had concerns about a after 1am check in but the front desk was staffed and waiting for me.

Very inexpensive and clean.

Will definitely stay there again.

Excellent location and great value for the money

We booked 2 rooms for 6 days during our week long stay in Bangkok. The location is just fantastic. Its 5-7 min walking distance from the Sukhumvit Skytrain station. And if you are planning to sight see Bangkok use of the skytrain and metro is highly recommended (because cabs get stuck in the notorious Bangkok traffic jam and you can get overcharged). There are plenty of eat out places around, Starbucks, Burger King all 2-3 min walking distance. The hotel was really neat and clean. I was bit hesitant while booking since some reviews reported cockroaches in the hotel. But it was spot clean. Restrooms were very clean and shower had hot water. Beds were comfortable. Only things that go against a 5* rating for this hotel are 1. Front Desk service 2. Breakfast. The front desk is managed by young Thai boys/girls who are super friendly but almost dont understand or speak English. Its impossible to get directions, any tourist related info from them. The breakfast was decent but just regular bread, butter, banana and some very ordinary juice. These two aspects could be improved. So overall you get excellent value for the money.

Good and comfy hotel a bit of a walk from the stat

The hotel and the staff are very nice, the breakfast is good enough which came as a good surprise because previous reviews complained about it, basically is continental with orange juice, tea, coffee, toast, butter & jam and fruits. Perfect for us.
The distance between the Thong Lo station BTS (metro) is a bit longer than expected, so about 10-15 minutes walk, which is OK if you dont mind walking, if you do then you will find is a bit too far. Its no too easy to find but the location in a little alley is pretty good to avoid the noise of the city. There is complimentary wi-fi in he rooms and also in the hotel with PCs.

Great place to stay in Thong Lor(Dining and Night)

This hotel and it's location made me want to stay in the area longer.
Clean, great TV channels, wi-fi in room.
The rooms are bright and have a nice layout.
There are personal computers for use on the second floor although they are a little slow.

Location makes up for lackluster hotel

The location of the hotel is great, which makes up for the fact that the hotel itself isn't notable much. It is located down a dingy ally with a seedy karaoke bar on the corner. Breakfast is bleak, so do not pay for it if it is not included. Internet is slow, but free. Hotel itself is a bit worn down, but provides the essentials. Don't recommend more than a couple of nights.

Basic facility in a reliable and comfortable hotel

I stayed here for two nights in October 2012 (had previously stayed here a few years ago) so I knew exactly what to expect. The facilites are basic but clean and comfortable. The hotel is located about a 10 minute walk from Thong Lo BTS and down a small side Soi that most taxi drivers dont know - so bring a map or a card from the hotel. The breakfast is fairly basic but better than nothing. The rooms are small but have all of the basics / essentials. This time I was in an economy room in a buidling adjacent to the main hotel but the formula remains the same. Good value for a budget conscious travellerand in a good / upcoming area

I asked the manager to change a light in the room,I asked him 3 times but it never got done,This was the only thing that I found wrong with our stay but it was great otherwise.Breakfast was included,but we didn't find out about it untilwe were reaady to leave VJMacNichol

Nantra de Comfort - Comfortable and Affordable

Clean, cosy rooms in the heart of Thonglor. The hotel is walking distance to many great/popular restaurants, clubs, and bars in the Thonglor and Ekkamai areas.

If you want to get into the center of town (Siam BTS station), you will need to walk 15 minutes to the Thonglor BTS station and then go 5 or so stops down (about 15 minutes).

The free continental breakfast is OKAY, but there a ton of roadside stalls just outside the hotel.

Free WIFI in every room, too.

I stayed here March 2010 and was very happy here, the location is great as its not as full on as Sukhumvit but only a 10 minute walk from the Bts with plenty of eating options and supermarkets.The staff are friendly, rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast is adequate plus free wi-fi and computer use. For the price in the Sukhumvit area its a steal.

Overall not bad for this type of pricing ... If you plan to travel by taxi it will be a good choice to stay in Nantra ... Unless you would like to keep fit then you may go for Bts ...

Within the Thong Lo street (Sukhumvit

Within the Thong Lo street (Sukhumvit soi55). Famous fast food chain nearby. 8 minutes by walk to BTS. Rooms are clean. Most have two singel beds. Bathroom is pantrylike, no door but OK. All rooms have WiFi. Stuff very friendly and all the quetsions and problems I had were treated perfectly. Morning have a small breakfast, coffee all day for free.
I higly recommend that smal and nice hotel. Many Greeting to my sweet friend Moddie:-)

I really recommend this hotel.

I really recommend this hotel. The stuff always friendly and offer a great support. Coffee, tea and fresh fruits are all day and night for free available. Breakfast is included. The rooms are in a good condition, only the view is close to another building, but to get contact to the neighbourhood could be very interesting. The offer also a bonus system, stay 9 night get one free. I will come back here again.

Tucked Away in an Alley

When I arrived, the Internet was not available - as a business traveller, stable Internet is a must, thankfully I was able to borrow WiFi from somewhere nearby and the day was saved.

The hotel is located in an alley, helps with the noise from the street but the views are not spectacular.

Its quite far from the BTS station,but

Its quite far from the BTS station,but if u can walk then no problem. The room is not sound proof , u can hear noises come from everywhere.Breakfast only offer bread and fruit. Limited tables and chairs for breakfast so got to take turn. No facility at all, once u are back ,u straight to your room.The only good point is the hotel and room is very clean and new.

not bad if you wanna go near siam area

the place was ok. clean and quiet. but the location was about 15-20mins walk from thonglo BTS station not far from siam area but miles away from khaosan.no much things to enjoy near neiborhood and breakfast was pretty poor. only bread, juice, milk,jam and tea was on the first floor, it was self service.

This hotel has opened for a few

This hotel has opened for a few months but it's surprisingly dirty especially in the bathroom. It's so cold when you take a shower because there was no bathroom door, only the thin glass between the sink and the shower. I found a lot of hairs on the sink area and there was no toilet paper. However, The hotel staff were so helpful and friendly and I found this hotel very convenient. It's so close to the market place where you can get burger king, star bucks coffee and all kinds of food near by. It's close to Thong Lor station but not right next to it as it shows on the map. It's a pretty long walk considering the pollution, the hot and humid air during the day. I highly recommend the hotel called the center point on wireless road. It's located right next to the BTS station, center of everything and it's very clean. My parents and I really enjoyed staying there and we'll definitely go back again.

朝食付きの部屋を予約しましたが、コーヒーのみでパン、ジース、ミルク、フルーツなどの朝食はありませんでした。以前にも利用していますが、以前は朝食はありました。

いつもの定宿。もう今年の年末年始も予約しましました。トンロー駅から少しは歩きますが快適に過ごしています。朝方向かい側から騒ぎ声が聞こえて起きてしまいましたが、タイらしくてマイペンライかな。

バンコク定宿

家族4人で二部屋宿泊しました。アーリーチェックインも二部屋で1.000バーツ支払い、ゆっくり市内散策できました。駅から少し距離はありますがコスパはあります。また、バンコク滞在の際には利用します。トンロー界隈の屋台がなくなったこととBTSカード購入時にパスポートが必要、レジ袋が有料もちらほら。時代の流れでしょうか。ブルーラインはかなり重宝しそうです。

숙소사진은 이곳에서 올려진 그대로이면서 좀더 낡았음
여자홀로 묵었는데 위치는 정말 최고, 현지어 가능할경우 완벽함
방에 벌레나오고, 불안켜지는 부분, 청소미흡 등은 아쉬우나
가성비 좋아서 홀로여행이라면 다시 묵을 마음있음
불친절한 직원있다고해서 걱정했는데
일주일묵는동안 그런 느낌의 직원은 단 한명이었음
나머지는 항상 웃는 낯으로 반겨줌
