Nice people and Best location hotel in Eilat with amazing view but unfortunately poorly maintained to an extreme level: dirty public areas, including lobby/pool toilets that can't be used, garbages overflowing and not emptied from the prior day and tables by the pool so dirty- never cleaned for at least 2 weeks - I was there twice to witness. outside my room there was food left I call There was nobody to help when you arrive with the car, with the parking or suitcases. self service for everything. In The room:old and not maintained, minibar was empty and no water were offered! in 45 degree Celsius, The price of 5 starts , but the hotel worst then motel. except the view.
random towels service in the room, sometime missing face towels, most time no leg towel, one day no towels at all -when we come back from the beach .
under my balcony we had small roof full of cigarette buds cans and wrappers. I had during my 2 visit 3 rooms and it was true for each room. they charge us $500 for first stay and over $600 for my 2nd stay, outrageous as we expected 5 starts hotel for that, not hostel.

it's an older hotel but it's super nice and fun and free. great stay away from all the busy hotel strip. feels very much like a vacation. and while breakfast could have been more upscale and cleaner and some renovation is in place, I still loved my stay there.

We booked a standard room which was nice very nice and quiet, but we expected a balcony with a view. It had a balcony but not the view. Not to worry the manager upgraded us to the Royal room the next day. Best room we ever had with a beautiful view and exceptional amenities! The breakfast is very good and the location of the hotel is perfect, withing walking distance of other good restaurants, check out the last refuge, and one of the the best aquariums in the world, with underwater viewing of the red sea marine life! Beach is just a short walk for outstanding snorkeling. Highly recommend this Hotel and I plan to return!

The hotel setting is uniquely beautiful nestled in the ancient hills of the Sinai dessert. Your view from the pool Imagines a Charleston Heston leading the Israelites out of Egypt. Unfortunately that is where it stops. While the rooms and amenities are okay the staff draw a big fat zero. None of them seem happy to be there and in some they are outright angry. For anyone who travels to Israel will know that service is not in its top ten and things to be proud of. Overall a unique experience if you can do without the warm, welcoming, and accommodating smile of the staff who will take care of you throughout your stay.

Very disappointed from this hotel, the staff are not friendly, zero in customer service and willing to help guest! after I checked in and got my room 25 minutes after another couple came to my room to check in as they gave them the room like mine. we booked 3 rooms and I called the hotel few times in advance to make sure all our rooms will be next to one another as it was my family and father who is sick and has dementia and can stay in a room only next to me. once we checked in we were told only 1 room ready but our rooms next to one another which was again wrong after we checked in another 2 couples came to check in, in the rooms next to us. I called the reception to ask why they are doing these mistakes and I was asked to come again to the reception and they asked to move rooms again which I refused, I never saw in my life such Insensitivity trough my father sickness, that's after they promise rooms next to one another. the reception manager was rude to us which she transferred us to her manager and another manager I just felt that I want to check out from this hotel ASAP. outside the room was dirty a trash that wasn't clean full with dirty dippers, they only came to clean it after 30 hours since we checked in. our room was in bad condition, the shower wasn't locking, dirty wall, broken wall, even the following day when a cleaner came to clean they didn't clean the balcony which I was shocked! I took pictures and video of everything, terrible! I recommend not to book it!

We had a great stay in this hotel. We were a family of 9 adults staying in 5 rooms, siam luxury rooms and superior family rooms. both types of rooms are similar but the siam had a better view. this hotel is made up of cabins on the mountain, far away from the noisy laguna area of Eilat. it is mostly for people who come to relax. we went to the laguna area to eat and see the boardwalk but were happy to leave and go to our quiet hotel for the night. the rooms were clean, the beds comfortable. the rooms have a rustic feel, more like a ski resort and less like a shiny modern hotel. we liked it. the breakfast was very good. the rooms are higher up on the mountain and you get there by a golf cart. we preferred to walk it up and down. it took just a few minutes.

A pleasant stay

Very well situated with a gorgeous view on Eilat, Acaba and and the Gulf of Acaba. In the morning we saw sunrise from our bed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was a little bit dilapidated, fixing electrical sockets, switches, taps would certainly be a good idea.

The hotel is located far thr city center but we didnt mind becauss we had a car.
The room renovated and nice, big balcony that could be amazing it they had put sun beds.
There was a lot of construction noises and we called 3 time (even though it was the weekend), the wifi didnt work the entire stay.
Overall the hotel was nice and had a great vibe.

I am really frustrated originally when i booked the booking said its a hotel and when i arrived they told me it was a villa and i specifically only booked because it said it was a hotel so i went to the orchid hotel across the street and they called this orchid and they said its fine if i stay in the hotel instead of the villa and i should pay the orchid hotel and they wont charge me for the villa then when i looked on my credit card statement i saw a charge from the hotel and from the villa???!!! so i told the bank what happened and they refunded me the money for the villa and now the villa is denying the story and wants to charge me for it???!!! This is stealing and not right and very deceiving???!!! You cant write on your website that its a hotel and when its really a villa and you cant lie about a story and try to steal money this is horrible!!! i am really upset about this please can you tell me what you can do about this? Thank you!

In overview this hotel was great. A broken pipe caused a flood in our room. The hotel staff fixed the issue but did not clean the room afterwards even though we asked them to do so multiple times.
The pool surrounding was unclean.

Nice hotel feels like you are away on a tropical island. Away from the action nice and quiet. You will need a car to drive to the centre of the city. Hotel staff could be friendlier. Most visitors are Israelis and the breakfast is great! I would recommend this hotel.

Second time I stayed at Orchid in Eilat! First was seven years ago and since that nothing changed! It needs a bit of upgrading now! Good value for money though! I requested two beds but one was upstairs that you had to reach with a ladder! The only option then was to bring the mattress down to sleep on the floor! Fridge was not working - needed to be plugged in! Air con not working and they came to clean the filters but forgot to plug it in again- by second day all issues were sorted! Tuk-tuk service to and from room was excellent. The breakfast was amazing considering no meat! Kitchen staff was also good.

This hotel is made of many interesting bungalows with Red Sea view and transported by golf cars. The food is fantastic and service people are nice. It is directly cross road from the nice aquarium. Highly recommended!

Only disappointment was that the lady who checked us in, when we said we wanted to go to Petra the next day, said it was too late to book (next option according to her was for after we checked out). After she left, the next person at the desk arranged it for us. Giving business to the preferred travel agent was more important to her than making her customer happy. Glad the second gentleman was there.

My favourite hotel in Israel

Situated at the far end of Eilat this hotel is a true fairy tale place. All stuff was very helpful and polite and they have tried hard to make our stay as pleasant as ever possible. Reading some feedback from other guests I do not understand what other people could have done to get rude response, if you smile - you always get a smile back.
I was staying there with my mum so it was really important to have quiet and relaxing stay that we definitely had. A bus stop is very close so you could get to the city centre easily if needed.
Sea beaches just minutes away so I went to a swim every morning and afternoon and we enjoyed a hotel pools and spa during the day. The hotel was full of local Israelian people with kids (well behaved and joyful) that is always a good sign for me. Breakfast was great with good choice of food and fresh.
I have already planned to come back next March with mum and sister and hope to come back every year.

More quiet place than in town, close to wild beach

Worse than was before and less service even being out of season.
Had to request towels be back each time returning to hotel.
No shampoo and got it on 3rd day only by stopping luckily the cart what got 2 of bottles.

Looks there were no daily wet cleaning and glasses in my room were smelling beer upon returning form the beach.

Avoid staying over weekend - too noisy even after midnight as your neighbors do parties and invite others.

But, room was just to sleep - and being on wild beach near by. So, happy enough :)

Every time I came to visit Eilat, I would look at the Orchid hotel from the outside and tell myself that on my next visit I will stay there. But I have to say, even though the staff are nice, the hotel does not worth the money you pay.
The rooms are old and dusty, you have spider webs all over the ceiling, the bathroom is so small, you can't place anything around the sink. The balcony looks poor- I mean, I could spend the same amount of money on hotel that perhaps does not look on the outside like a luxurious Thai bungalow, but is way more renovated, modern and is clean.
The AC is old and makes a lot of noise, the doors do not close properly.
The breakfast buffet is poor and twice I found hair in the \"fresh\" salads section (I mean, Come on!). The pool's suntan beds are old and have stains on them (gross).
DOES NOT WORTH THE MONEY! Save yourself from the disappointment

I stayed at the Orchid Hotel Eilat towards the end of June 2017. It was quite a way out of the city centre and was self contained, which was annoying as they wanted to charge a ridiculous rate for evening dinner. The main pool area was good and was a good way to while away a day, it was mostly packed with families and couples.

The idea of the hotel is good, thai villas on the hill etc. It all looked nice on the pictures. In reality it is rather disappointing. The cleanliness: we had no room cleaning for 2 days and we had to call for it though we had put a sign on the door saying \"Make Up the Room\". The patio is always dirty, lots of dust on the chairs. The hotel has decent restaurant and pool. The problem is that if you're non-smoker you can't be anywhere near the pool, people smoke there openly and nobody asks them not to, moreover even the staff smokes in the designated \"non-smoking\" areas. In our last day a person came over at about 9am and knocked on the door. I was going to open it when he already opened the door and was coming in until I called him not to. First, he didn't speak English, second, he was smoking at that moment! Hardly we understood he came by asking what time we're gonna be checking out. Why not to just call and ask it or why at all they do ask for it? In the restaurant waiters discuss some personal stuff aloud. They look unprofessional and more like seasonal workers. The room service person doesn't speak English.

The front desk staff was horrid. They gave us a piece of paper and said eveything we needed to know was on this piece of paper. How to turn on the heat was not shown. The water from the shower ran onto the floor because there was a huge gap between the shower lip and the shower door. They did not seem to care that I could fall. The TV did not work and neither did the fridge.

This used to be one of the best hotels in Eilat, the location and views are still some of the best. However it seems hotel maintenance isn't as good as it used to be. The bathroom was not well maintained, furniture etc. looked old and quite dirty. The staff were polite and very helpful. Breakfast wasn't the best I've had at this hotel but was fine and had a good variety. All in all it was a pleasant stay and I would happily stay here again.
For those who want to get out of the city and enjoy a quiet vacation by the red sea, this is the hotel. Great for snorkeling lovers and just across the road from the underwater observatory.

Initially, there were a few hiccups. The website doesn't have an email address, so a few weeks before arriving, I faxed them about their airport shuttle with my flight details. I left a responding email address on the fax. I had also requested twin beds as I was travelling with my adult son. After waiting 1/2 an hour at the airport, we opted for a taxi and upon entering our room, we found 1 king size bed. After complaining, we were upgraded to a family room overlooking the Red Sea. Also, found out they don't have a shuttle from the airport.

The most beautiful hotel we've been to

We came on a week day for a single night, after the holiday season in Israel, so the prices were already lower. We had a good deal for the simple room, but when the golf-cart driver dropped us off at the room, it turned out that we were upgraded -- as a courtesy -- to one of the best rooms they have. The view was breath-taking (as it is from all the rooms in this hotel), the village (it looks like a village built on the side of the mountain) was gorgeous, the staff was helpful and kind, and facilities were wonderful. This is by far the most beautiful hotel we've been in, located perfectly in the outskirts of the city but next to the most beautiful beach, the underwater observatory and near supermarkets and restaurants. We wish we could have stayed more!

Room was well maintained.
Except for the occassional cats meandering through the grounds, it was a very quiet and restful experience.
Our cottage was about half way up the mountain and we needed a shuttle service that was not always very prompt in arriving.
The dinners were overpriced and because the hotel is on the outskirts of the city, there are no other options within walking distance. We ordered pizza online from a pizza company, but it arrived cold because of the travel time. Also the delivery charge was excessive because it is out in the middle of nowhwere. If you are looking for a quiet get away, this place will be perfect. We spent quite a bit of time getting to shopping centers and local eateries. So we are not going back to this part of Eilat ever again.

Disappointing experience

Booked for last week of October to be outside of main city to relax in quiet place next to wild beach.

1. It is not quiet at all - situated on the side of the high hill hotel provides transportation by golf club cars of which they are half electric and half petrol. And having roads virtually next to your door you hear everything outside.

2. Beware, there is no privacy
- hotel gives your room number, name and country you came from to sales agents. One stopped me one day and knew I made bookings form the UK and my name.

- on second day we were back from the snorkelling the door was opened and very smelly inside. Few minutes after we found the worked using epoxy glue in the bathroom. Obviously it was leakage somewhere but I would not expect your room door wide opened in Israel.

3. Breakfast is nearly the same every day and on high load stuff just stopped making proper coffee.

I would better to book Crowne Plaza again next time having better service and selection of food for cheap.

Excellent!!!

Awesome is the best way I can describe this experience. the staff was very friendly, they upgraded our room from deluxe to Villa for no extra charge because we're newlyweds. the only ding was they didn't clean our room the second day. but that's not too big of a deal.

service was very disapointing

I learned we would only get to the hotel around midnight. Therefore i called to inform and make sure they save the reservation and ask if can check out an hour later. Took very long for them to answere. Said they could only tell me about late checkout when cheking in.
When we check in they said only in the morning.
In the morning when i called from the room they said they will get back to me.
That was not too helpful. Its onlt an hour so we got up and checkout on time.
Which is ok but not what you would expect not to menyion no is also an answere.

Very Unusual hotel!

Overall, very nice stay. Really lovely staff (Ricky, on check in, was so welcoming and knowledgeable)....rooms lovely, very unusual, little \"bungalows\"....ours was quite high, so had a super view, lower ones may not have such a good outlook. There is a little mezzanine floor in the bungalows, with another bed. The ladder up is really steep, but my children would have absolutely loved it when they were little. The public areas were just lovely, pool, sunbathing terrace etc. Although a little outside Eilat, its just beside the large aquarium, and only a very short taxi or bus ride to the centre of town.

Nice hotel, need some up date, clean. The cabins on shoulder of high hills that for young guys it's ok, not for older people, the hotel providing golf cart to take you to your room any time. Nice cozy view, when I was seating near the pool and having breakfast .Good food .. I had only breakfast .

We were so disappointed when we arrived. The hotel is aged and unkept, the staff have no training- it seems to be run more like backpacker rather than 5* hotel.. Tuk-tuk are cute idea but it stops being cute when you are waiting to get to your room for 15 minutes and when asking what is going on you get attitude from staff that its not her problem.. The pool area gets overcrowded and there is no service.. People trying to squeeze everywhere and only bottom part of swimming pool is guarded. The top part for kids- it's your responsibility... Overall very disappointing and we'll certainly never come back. Especially for the 5* price we paid $500/night :(

Unique Thai environment

We enjoyed the resort. Grounds were beautiful and we had a porch that was great for sitting with a lovely view. The massage was wonderful! The buffet was crowded, busy and the food was mediocre. We ate our dinners at other hotels most of the time.
