Nice buffet breakfast with beach view. Loddy is spacious and warm. Only 2 lifts up. Wait times during check in and check out were a little long. Nice outdoor heated pool. Room was great, no complaints. Friendly cockatoos visited our balcony upon arrival. Cant order room service after 10pm via the QR code, and they only had 2 things to order on the sleepwalker menu. All staff were lovely.

Room was clean, view was lovely. The attitude of all except two of the staff was below hospitality standard. Lack of friendliness, interest in the guest, no bend over backwards approach. I have run many hospitality venues, from restaurants to having the directorship of an island resort in the Pacific and to me the only ingredient missing from your hotel is engagement with the guest, a smile, a how are you, an interest in the person in front of them. The only person I encountered who was truly hospitable was a young male barman.

A very enjoyable stay.

The hotel is well located with great access to beaches, cafes and restaurants, and a short walk or free bus trip to Wollongong CBD.

The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient.

Fabulous outlook from my ocean facing room with balcony. The room was clean. spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was also good.

The only negative is the onsite parking charges! Plenty of street parking available close by.

My husband and I have been staying at Novotel north beach for over 25 years and I have never had a more disappointing stay.
Everything from the check in to the price of parking, the breakfast, to the filthy glass on the balcony, the entrance steps alone are putrid. I request late check out at 12 and at 11 two women bash on my door asking when I am leaving... at 12 as requested!
I think the current GM is doing a horrible job, the past two GM's, Walter and Steve kept it beautiful and treated the guests with care and kindness, made you feel special but nothing is the same as it was, Novotel is nothing special anymore.
I think it's time for us to find a new place to stay in the gong!

The view was more roof top than beach, but you can see the beach from the room.
Great comfy bed. Fantastic shower. Restaurant and bar staff we all lovely.

Outdoor terrace area had a lot of cockroaches running around and the carpet in the hallways smelt pretty musty.

Disappointed that parking wasn’t included considering how expensive the room was. We had to park a couple of blocks away and it was absolutely pouring with rain.

Walkway around driveway/reception entry extremely slippery when wet.

We enjoyed our return stay at Novotel. As always, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was spotless and we had a beautiful view from the lounge and balcony.
In-room dining was easy to order online and tasted delicious and breakfast was relaxed with plenty of choice to choose from.

Great quality hotel with a very clean and comfortable room. The reception staff were extremely helpful and welcoming from check-in. The hotel is across the road from the beach, but could not see it from our room which was basic, modern and clean, but not worth the money.
We asked for fresh towels, but never received them.

Absolutely Pathetic, booked room with two queen beds but was given single and then provided sofa paid. Paid extra but no refund available for the difference. No apologies just told they dont have room available for my category even though I booked it! I have stayed here many times and yet very unhelpful reception staff. Also, breakfast is no way never what it used to be.

Location was perfect. Easy quick check in, room was clean, comfortable soft bed, the bathroom was old with stained bath and basin, floor tiles were dated and found hair from previous guests. Used the heated pool at night, it wasn’t that clean, a greasy layer was floating on top of the pool. In my opinion the hotel deserves a 3* however the buffet breakfast was very poor. Too many guests for the amount of food served. I literally couldn’t find any eggs, also no pastries, most of the plates were empty and for a long time. People were looking for places to sit. It was 8am on a Saturday the restaurant was full. Will I visit again maybe but for sure I won’t purchase breakfast included.

Staff were courteous and faculties are kept clean though a bit dated. We appreciated having beds made every day and all supplies topped up as needed.

The room could use an update to smart TVs.

Buffet breakfast spread was decent but the dinner a la carte menu was overpriced for the choices and portions.

We were unfortunate to have a very noisy and inconsiderate neighbours so we barely slept last two nights with their yelling at each other, kids screaming and doors slamming well past 2am. The hotel security promptly addressed them after we reported the issue to the hotel reception on the second night which helped a bit.

All staff were lovely and attentive.

The location and parking was fantastic however unfortunately it was missed on our booking that my 2 year old was travelling with us, I had asked for a room with a fold out bed which it had, however housekeeping hadn’t set it up and no spare sheets were in the room, by the time we got to our room at 9pm it was too late to have someone come up as my toddler was all but asleep.
Air conditioning also needs attention, granted it was the middle of a heat wave however the room stayed hot and stuffy all night making sleep very difficult and uncomfortable.
For the price I don’t know if the stay was worth it

Room smelt damp. When we arrived there as a large wet patch outside the bathroom. The fan in the bathroom did not seem to work. The button to flush the toilet was broken as was the light above one of the beds. Despite staff looking at the tv, we were not able to purchase any movies.
Carpet in common areas needs to be dry cleaned or updated as it was quite dirty and stained. Pool is too small for such a large hotel. Pool area, north bar and reception need more staff on in busy periods to tidy or serve.

Danielle room services/cleaner on level 8 . She was extremely amazing . Her services was excellent. Her smile was exceptional lovely. The way she talks too my kids was so friendly.

Charlotte the girl on the front receptionist was extraordinary. Her service was top notch . Her smile and welcoming and departing was the best ever .

Dora the desk relation . Her service and information regarding the hotel and surrounding was so amazing that mostly the only reason why i would return to the hotel . She was so friendly and so so great with my kid . She was full of laughter and smiles . My kid was saying i cant wait to go back and visit dora . Well done...

As for the hotel itself. Was spot on. Family friendly . Clean room . Room service was prefect . Managment really do care . Its just a matter of feed back for them to fix any issues. .

We were very happy with the look of the room when we first entered however down the track we realise that the shower was difficult to get to rite (regarding the temperature & flow) and made a terrible noise the whole time we used it; further to that we found the bed extremely uncomfortable. We are literally sank into the bed and it felt like a water bed ..way too soft to be comfortable. When we asked for a small extension to the leaving time we were refused. So all in all; our experience was not exceptional but I would write it as average.

The downside is the parking. Too narrow and too low in height. The car was scratched even while opening the boot which managed to hit the low roof.

Check in and out was very easy, staff and room service were helpful , Room was nice and clean, most rooms are ocean view however if you sit on the balcony you will be able to see all other rooms and vice versa so no privacy. breakfast was ok but didn’t have a wide variety and no enough seats so you had to wait for a while to be seated. Pool was clean and nice not very crowded, parking is available but for $39 a day.

I had a mixed experience during my stay at this hotel. The room had an old TV with only free-to-air channels available, and the air conditioning was quite weak, which made the room uncomfortable at times. The side view from my room was mostly blocked by a roof, so the sea view was only partially visible.

I was also disappointed that the internet and parking were not free, considering the price of the stay. Additionally, there were no basic amenities such as dental kits in the bathroom.

Another drawback was the noise from the pub downstairs, which made it difficult to sleep at night. The corridor carpet was also very worn and gave the hotel a dated feel.

Overall, the hotel has potential, but several improvements are needed to make the stay more pleasant and comfortable.
