Car parking is available and cheap. Checkin was efficient and quick. Cleaning could be better though. We found dust, rusty nails & dead bugs behind toilet and wash stand, dirt marks and hairs on tiled walls, grease marks on curtains, lots of holes in sheer curtains etc. Lots of rust and marks on front of dishwaher, which I cleaned for them using what I bought with me, but otherwise OK. Not enough milk or biscuits provided for our 3 night stay, had to ask for more after we used up what we bought with us.
Everything was well decorated, could do with more pictures on walls, and missing paint chips redone.
There is building work next door, so we were very grateful that they placed us high up on the other side of the building. They now provide breakfast ingredients if needed, as there is nothing nearby. A Sushi shop has opened one block down, which is handy.
Otherwise good value for the money, and close to the hospital. We stay here often for medical proceedures.

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. The room had an unpleasant smell, the fridge was not working, and the carpet was very dirty. The cabinets were outdated and the overall condition of the room did not feel clean. The air conditioner was located only in the hallway, so both bedrooms were extremely hot. The area was also very noisy, and we were unable to sleep properly. Because of the cleanliness concerns, we didn’t feel comfortable using most of the facilities in the room.

The room was completely run down, carpet stained all furniture beaten up, bed had huge dips in it. The entire room was a disgrace. This is not a nice hotel and should be rated 2 star at best. I cannot believe Mantra leave it in their portfolio. The staff were wonderful and helpful but the hotel is in appalling condition.

This is a very run down building that was purchased for complete reno inluding new beds and air-conditioning and painting, none have been started , bedding and air-conditioning was unacceptable for paying money(422)$ This a fraudulently behaviour on behalf of Mantra and hotels .com because they sell you a room with air condition but the hotel owners know that it doesnt work. So I ask you ? Isn't this selling something and getting paid but not honouring the commitment? The bed is ready for rubbish tip..ask the owners . They will tell you what they are doing .

Normally Mantra rooms are clean & modern. Mantra Wollongong was unfortunately very grotty from the time we entered reception to the time we left. Foyer needed a good sweep & mop, as did the elevator floor. Rooms were specious and beds comfortable, but lounges were stained, benches and furniture in need of a good wipe down, tiles in bathroom mouldy. The whole place needs a good refresh. I didn't realise the property allowed pets...saw 4 groups with large dogs taking them in and out of their rooms. We probably won't stay again unfortunately.

Not worth the cost at all and was very surprised that Accor would have a property at this low standard. Only one old air conditioning unit in the living room, and old fans from kmart in the room which were damaged.

Room was dirty. There was built up thick dust on the TV cabinet. Bed was uncomfortable, The balcony looked like it hadn’t been cleaned ever, there were multiple red back spiders and cob webs along the balcony edge which my toddler almost grabbed, the lift kept breaking down and would take forever.

Everything is old and in very poor condition. The carpet smells like sweaty feet, the microwave is yellowed and doesn’t even work, and the fridge is damaged.

They even have on-site parking and still dare to charge us per night.

This property is very disappointing. Has not been maintained or cleaned. Ripped curtains throughout old furniture with scratches dirty bathroom. No breakfast facilities. Charging top dollar. Not up the Accor standard. Makes me think twice about booking any of their other hotels.

The 2 bedroom we had for the night was comfortable and well maintained. Although we could see marks and scratches on the furniture, the unit was clean and the carpet seemed new. Best of all, it is a pet friendly hotel which is rare in Australia, sadly. Our baby Shiba loved her stay. Thank you for being so accommodating to families with pets. We will be back.

The elevator takes a very long time.

Mantra need to update their proerty listings. I knew I would be checking in late, so looked for properties stating extended reception hours. The Mantra page advertised reception being open until 12.30am... only for them to advise me late the afternoon of my booking that they were only open until 9pm. This meant having to wait on the phone for a call centre operator to give me instructions on how to access my keys... the last thing I wanted after a 14hour work day at 11.30pm.

This is really more a 2-3 stars property. In general the property is run down and looked tired and worn out.

It was previously an apartment block that was bought and converted into a ‘hotel’.

There’s wall patches that wasn’t properly done and paint coming off the joinery. We noticed a spider in the toilet and the vents sound like a machine.

The rooms are not air-conditioned which isn’t up to par given the price and 4 star rating on Google.

I think it here needs to be a lot of adjustments (lower) to reflect the true quality/value/type of the accommodation.

We wwre put into the wheelchair accessibility room, which meant oue shower had a shower curtain which are extremely unsanitary. They stick to yori body when showering and I absolutely guarantee they arw NOT washed between guests. The shower setup means water goes absolutely EVERYWHERE throughout the bathroom so I had to ask for a LOT more towels to contain thwn water. It would bw good for staff to check if this setup suits a customer prior to them staying. The ret was otherwise good.

The Mantra is convenient to everything and check in was easy. Unfortunately the unit was very rundown. The lounge was very stained and the furnishings and carpet very worn. The carpark is quite tight to exit if you have a large vehicle. I also was placed in an accessible apartment which was fine however if I’d been in a wheelchair there is absolutely no way i could have accessed the bedroom as the lounge was only about 50cm from the door. There was also a strong smell of cigarettes in the apartment and no tea towels.

It is on a main road so the surrounds are particularly picturesque but it was quiet and had plenty of street parking. The pet friendly unit was absolutely great! All rooms/bathroom/balcony very spacious with separate lounge area. A nice view out to the distant mountains and not too loud from traffic and quiet. Loved the fully equipped kitchen and also bathroom had a washing machine/dryer with plenty of room on the balcony to dry items on a rack provided also. Can walk into the Centre of Wollongong to all of the main shops. Everything very nearby, perfect for us as we were meeting up with family in the area. A very acceptable price also that we were very happy with. Only issue is you do need to walk your doggie down a few levels in the lift and there is not too much grassy areas for them to relieve themselves so you need to walk along some side streets. Parking is limited and you need to pay $15 per night undercover on property and there is a $80 dog fee per stay that I did not realise at the time until I got there. All in all very happy with our 5 night stay there.

I booked apartment with full kitchen, very limited utensils, only one pot which was gravey size, two non stick frypans in bad condition, damaged Teflon so not safe to use, no serving bowls or spones, Rangehood broken, TV didn't work and tolit seat broken.

By far, the best value hotel I have stayed at on this trip!
Great room sizes, comfy beds, amazing shower water pressure, full kitchen and so clean with freezing cold air con

Reception staff, two younger ladies - both where exceptional in there service and heard someone else compliment them as well

Parking - onsite, safe and secure!

Definitely will be booking there again in the future

I walked into my room, found some type of disgusting stains all over the lounge and cushions. The property smells, is old and dirty. There is one lift that takes forever to get up and down. The room itself is awful. Bare and old with very little in it - just large open void. I left the property immediately upon walking into my room and changed to another hotel. A definite hotel to avoid. Looks nothing like the photos online.
