This hotel has seen better days and isn't as clean and fresh as it used to be. I requested a renovated room based on other reviews, and while the room was not particularly dirty or in need of immediate repair, it just felt dated and kind of blah vs. what the rooms used to be like when we stayed here constantly 6-10 years ago. Room also didn't have a terrace which was disappointing. Pool area was still great, as was the restaurant. Would come back once all rooms are freshly renovated.

I’ve asked for a call back multiple times from a manager or general manager. Nothing!!!!

I used to stay here often years ago, and booked this last minute after being stuck in LA an extra dust due to a blizzard. Unfortunately, this property has gone downhill. The woman at the front desk was not very courteous. Everything felt a little dingy. A coworkers room had a very dirty shower. All four pillows on the bed were the same (it’s nice when they offer two firmer and two softer pillows, as most nicer hotels do), also the exterior door on the upper building gets stuck and remains open. This is not safe at night when it is supposed to only be accessed by keycard. Also noticed stains on some of the pool towels we used. When we ordered lunch to the pool, they completely forgot one of my coworkers entrees.

Fantastic hotel. Beautiful facility, friendly staff and the rooms are HUGE! (And I mean huge.) in another hotel, this room would have been a suite. It was awesome. The breakfast in the restaurant was excellent and the location of the hotel was great. The ONLY criticism I have is that the pillows were possibly the worst I have ever slept on. It was like laying on a bag of garbage and definitely caused some neck pain. Other than that, this hotel was really fantastic. I would book here again for sure… I hope they order new, better pillows but worth bringing my own next time. Lol

Love the Luxe. No complaints except for the TV system used to cast streaming services like Netflix. Although a number of other rooms came up for me to be able to stream to, my room wasn't on the list. Front desk advised that I wiggle the cord or make sure that it wasn't loose. That wasn't an issue. The cord was secure. I finally gave up.

Sort of odd place. The lower building is old looking and the room gave me creepy vibes. The upper building is better but I wouldn’t stay here again.
To begin, they didn’t lock the upper building at night and so anyone could walk right in. There’s no devotion at the upper building so the only security is a valet person who may or may not be present. Why couldn’t they close and lock the door to the building? Very unsafe feeling. It’s tucked away off the road and feels isolated.

The bathroom had hair all over it. It wasn’t mine yikes .. Ola lot of extra costs that are surprises parking for $50 for one night which is crazy then some other resort fees a $25 credit for room service or food and I got the chicken Chinese chicken salad and it was terrible and it was more additional cost her of course.

The hotel is old and tired, but the biggest issue was the cleanliness of our room. Our dog found a blue pill on the floor and also sniffed out some chips near the sofa. The worst part was not knowing if he had ingested anything. It was a terrifying morning as we debated whether we needed to rush him to the ER. Thankfully, it appears he only found the one pill, but this should never have happened. I keep thinking about the “what-ifs”—what if he had eaten it, or worse, what if a child had found it? What a terrible experience.
On top of that, the hotel didn’t really do anything to address the situation, and we ended up with two sleepless nights. I’m genuinely surprised that no one from upper management has reached out.
In addition, the hotel is very loud, with interior doors and car doors slamming throughout the night. Expedia should pull this hotel from their site.

Positives: Large room; location was perfect for my needs; friendly staff; quiet; my room was nice and dated 70s/'80s, which felt nostalgic, not bad; pool was very nice; HVAC controls in the room was very good.

But, the room was not made up twice during the 5-night stay; parking $$$; no attendant at upper parking lot twice late at night, so I parked myself and got yelled at the next morning by the attendant that was then on duty; bartender missing from bar for long periods of time on 2 of the nights; Sunset Blvd is a nightmare at rush hour, it took 45 minutes to drive less than a mile to return to the hotel at 5 PM. The bathroom was fine, but it should be updated from 70s/80s.

Overall, I'd stay at Luxe again as the price (except for parking) and location were optimal for my stay.

The room is large but there is no where to sit , one chair in that whole
Room. The mattress was uncomfortable,,the pillows were old and the filling ballled up, the room was warm and don’t really cool off. Ambiance was really bad, and didn’t look anything like your website, especially the bed frame was twice the size of the bed.overall ugh -sorry.staff was fine, didn’t really have much interaction besides the bar tender who was lovely.

One of my favorite properties to stay at in West LA. The location is tucked in and close to everything you need on the west side. My only grump is that you have to use valet if you stay there and that does not work if you want to leave the property before 5 am.

Amazing stay after plastic surgery!

Our stay and room were absolutely perfect. The front desk lady was incredibly kind and accommodating. She even went above and beyond to find us a room that was perfect for our trip. Since my birthday is today and I had plastic surgery yesterday, I requested a room away from the hustle and bustle so I wouldn’t have to deal with crowds.

To my delight, she found us an end unit with a beautiful view of the trees and birds chirping. It had everything I needed for my recovery, including a relaxing tub. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

This was easily the most unfortunate experience in a long long time - maybe ever.

We were checked into a room that hadn't even been cleaned yet. The condition of the room was shocking.

We were ' upgraded ' to a another room. One with peeling wallpaper, a shower door that did not close properly and consequently flooded the bathroom floor, a tv monitor way too small for the room which made watching a $25 movie unpleasant, two full beds - when we paid for a double queen. Unreal.

The pool area was sad... furniture that looks like it came from a yard sale.

The landscaping is sad...

The staff was understaffed and overworked.

This property must be on its last legs because every turn - from the physical condition of the bulidings to the lack of staff and really terrible cleanliness - would confirm that...

Definite NO GO.

This property is okay if you need a location close to UCLA. The property is dated for starters. Our room was large, but the \"bar\" area was essentially un usable space. The bed was comfortable, but eh pillows were lumpy songy things.
We were told when we checked in that we had a $25 foiod/beverage credit that was available. We had gone to dinner outside the property, but thought we would have dessert using our credit. The restaurant was deserted, and we were told to sit anywhere. The dessert options were; cheesecake, chocolate flourless cake, chocolate or vanilla ice cream and creme Brule. We sat down and ordered creme brule and cheesecake. We had to send them both back. the creme brule was watery, and the cheesecake was chalky. So we tried the chocolate and the vanilla ice cream, thinking that was a safe bet. Nope! We sent them back also. The chocoate ice cream was ICY, and the vanilla tasted like it was sugar free. How does a place have such horrible desserts? We had to just walk away wanting...
The staff was good at checkin, and the valet was good.

Huge empty area under shelves in room, looks like a couch was taken out and not replaced. Can see shower plumbing access plate on wall because of it.
Coffee maker on tiny side table in corner of room between 2 chairs. Seems like it wasn’t originally suppose to be there.
Ice machine impossible to find, map on room door incorrectly shows ice machine location, and location on room key folder is not accurate. Ice machine actually outside of building.

The hotel was very pleasant and clean. All services were spot on. Housekeeping changed the sheets every day, which I did not expect.

I asked for extra water, and they left it for me each day.
Room service was exceptionally prompt. The food was good, although better in the restaurant.

The bed was so comfortable, I asked housekeeping the mattress brand, but she did not know.

I highly recommend this hotel.

While the room appeared clean, there was a horrible smell in the room. The smell resembled a shelter or nursing home where people might have accidents frequently.
The staff was very rude and unwelcoming .
The food/ room service was expensive and yet it was so bad that I couldn’t really

Overall, I am very disappointed in this hotel.
I’ve stayed there before and never had such a bad experience.

The Luxe is a gorgeous property nestled in the Brentwood hills, hidden behind lush hedgerows. I love it.

During my recent stay, Chris at the front desk took awesome care of me, Joshua the sales director also made me feel welcome, and Abel the bartender mixes the most perfect dry martini.

Loved how quiet and clean my room was and the pool area is really relaxing and pretty. Cute gym, too.

Dislikes? When I walked my dog around the property I noticed hotel staff did not pick up trash as well as they should. There was a whole pile of junk, including a toilet plunger, sitting in a big pile against the hotel for three days. Come on, guys.

But I will be back. This is a unique property with friendly, professional staff.

Great Hotel, But Breakfast Was a Bit Confusing

I had a great stay at this hotel! The staff were genuinely friendly, and my room was impressively quiet — something I really appreciated. The view looked directly onto the hillside (as in, right against it), so not much to see, but it didn’t bother me since I was out exploring most of the day. The only confusing part was breakfast. We had paid in advance, so it was technically included, but only certain items on the menu were covered, which felt a bit misleading. Still, overall, it’s a lovely hotel and I’d happily return.
