good service from smiling staff seems a thing of the past, but not at The President hotel, excellent staff, excellent service, clean, comfortable, good food all this means we will definitely stay at this Hotel next time we are in London.
We have already recommended it to some friends.

Very disappointed with this hotel. Booked a twin room with 2 beds, the actual room layout was completely different from the pictures in the “select rooms” from Expedia’s website. There’s not even enough room to open our luggage. We have to lean one side of the luggage against the wall to have the other side of the luggage lay on the floor, and the opened luggage took all the space - it’s already touching the bed and the wall - we have to jump over to walk in the room… and we have to close up our luggage every morning - considering room services need to walk around the room to do their work.

No air conditioning in the room. No air/fan circulation in the bathroom either… The windows can only be opened a little bit. Very uncomfortable staying in the room with the humidity level and the hot temperature. Woke up many times during sleep… Never had one night of good sleep.

Breakfast is 17.5 pound per person - very expensive. Not worth the price. Would rather go to Pret next to the hotel for breakfast/brunch.

No lobby or lounge in the hotel.

Cleaning services was great though.

Location was great - walking distance to British museum. Lots of restaurants around in walking distance. Train station is one block away. Liked the neighborhood.

Not worth the price. Not a great staying experience for 7 nights.

Excellent location, central, underground just around the corner.
Staff extremely helpful, provided items we had forgotten to bring with us. Shout out to Yolanda, excellent customer service.
Breakfast was delicious, lots of items to choose from.
Would recommend a room away from the lift as can be noisy.

The location of this hotel is great. It’s 5 mins walk from Holborn and 20 mins from Kings Cross. The room was nice but very hot. The room had a fan but it was noisy and I couldn’t have it on at night. Also there’s work being done out the back of the hotel and this started at 8am making it difficult to have the window open.

Don't let them talk you into staying on the top floor! The rooms are tiny and the sound bleed is awful. They didn't tell me this and co winced me it was nicer and quiet. I was woken up repeatedly by the room next door. The fan in my bathroom also sounded like an airplane taking off.

The President Hotel was very nice. We arrived an hour early before check in and we're given the opportunity to choose the room. We had a view of Russell Square park. Staff were very friendly. It was very close to the amenities we needed. Would stay here again

Staff was very nice and the place was clean with a good dining room. The room was tiny, but the beds were comfortable and the shower was good except that the water comes out all over the floor with just a partial glass side. The hardest thing was the fact that the room was very warm and there was no air-conditioning so we just opened the window and tried to cool it off. It might not be so good in the middle of summer.

Room is small no space to keep the luggage. No body lotion found. Found dust around door corne. The shower area is quite small. Water leaks out of the shower area due to an inadequate shower screen. There is no power outlet near the bed for charging mobile devices.
Overall experience is not that bad for couple of nights not great but ok.

Room have no AC the windows dont open very far and there is no mechanical ventilation. Even the week after a hot spell when the outside had cooled the room stayed hot and uncomfortable to sleep. A fan was provided and I managed to plug it in near the window but the back of the hotel is surrounded by other buildings and seemed to retain heat.

I am in London for 4 weeks but I have moved hotels for the remainder. There are plenty of hotels in the vicinity and I have found one with AC for the same price which also includes breakfast (it was extra at The Presedent) At these high prices that is the least I expect.

I had no problems with the hotel other than that but being uncomfortable at night and not sleeping well due to the heat was a reason to switch hotels.

Location wise - Great property, On the outside in the public areas, it is nice, in the rooms, Okay, not the best.

The rooms don't have AC, and we were given a fan and earbuds in the room to counteract the noise from having the window open overnight, which inherently risks letting bugs in.

Another complaint is that upon arriving, we were greeted by a receptionist who needs a reminder is basic customer service. We arrived at 9am, and dropped off our bags, which was great, and we asked them \"is there any chance of a early check in\" and we got told abruptly, No it's 2pm.

We then popped back at 11ish and asked \"if there is any chance there's any rooms ready early\" and again, was rudely informed \"no, come back at 2\".

Working in hotels, my partner and I know how rooms work, and we had hoped that one room would've been ready early or at least sharp.

We checked again at 1pm, and told the same, and we eventually got in around 1.50 however the receptionist still wasn't helpful at all

In the end, the hotel looks amazing and has potential on the inside, but the staff and rooms need a bit of work, as it felt like their performance of Fawlty towers at reception and in the rooms, rather than the High quality the style of the hotel should have.

The room was clean but it was right next to dumpsters. This meant a six am wake up call when the dumpsters were being loudly picked up. Beware room 160.
If you are a perimenopausal person with hot flashes you may want to skip this hotel in the warmer months as there isn't A/C. They do provide you with a fan, and a window that opens a little. In my case a window next to fragrant garbage. Lucky me!!! Bless room 160.
Still, the hotel is near transport links, and restaurants.

A perfect location, near St Pancras and access to Eurostar etc. lots of public transport options. Very walkable area, really lovely. Restaurants, parks, museums nearby, including a good spot for breakfast right on the corner. Room was very nice, and enough room to unpack and move around. I'd stay here again. Love the whole area. Staff very pleasant.

We honestly had such a terrible experience at this hotel. The first room we got had a leaking toilet which was absolutely disgusting and seemed like an odd thing to not check for. The second room they moved us to had a little bug fly out of the bed when I pulled the covers back. I called the front desk about it immediately and they seemed to not believe us (were extremely rude) until we went down and showed them a photo. There attitude changed significantly once we had showed them the photo but at that point we felt so disrespected. The final room was fine but to move us 3 times in one night and not offer any sort of refund, consolation, or upgrade was honestly unbelievable and unacceptable. There was also terribly loud construction going on right behind the hotel and the walls were paper thin (you could hear the people next to you as if they were in the room) and the hotel definitely know how bad it was as they offered free ear plugs…Will not be staying here or at any of their other hotels ever again due to this extremely disappointing service and experience.

Stayed 2x on our trip, six nights total. The rooms are ‘city small’ but smartly laid out and organized. The two of us were very comfortable. Strong, hot shower and comfortable beds. Onsite restaurant is just fine. So convenient to everything. We’ll be back.

Enough friendly and efficient staff to operate a slick check in without queues, similarly friendly and efficient staff in the breakfast restaurant. Excellent breakfast. Comfortable beds and quality linen, towels etc. Room and public areas clean and fresh.

The only negatives were the lack of air conditioning / cooling though there was a heat wave, small rooms and narrow beds and the corners of tables in the breakfast restaurant were damaged and splintered, strange and not encountered before!

On balance thoroughly well organised and operated with competent, professional and friendly staff.

Great location but otherwise nothing special about this hotel. It’s generally quite stripped down, whether in the common areas or the rooms - my room didn’t have aircon or a fridge, for instance. It’s a place to stay near Russell Square but is otherwise very mid.

Perfect location close to Russel Square tube station, an old pub, and a bakery. 10 min walk to the British Museum. Go directly to Russel square station from the airport along the Piccadilly Line which takes 50 mins or so.

Breakfast buffet was well stocked and staffed. Rooms are tight but clean and all one would need. Would stay again on my next trip.

The room was very clean and there was ample room. There was some counter space in the bathroom but not plug-ins as we found out was normal in England. There was no air conditioning but a fan was provided and the windows did open which helped with air flow. We did not eat at the hotel because it was located close to local restaurants and pubs. It was in a nice location, close to the tube and a park. It was nice that they would hold our luggage until it was time to leave for the airport after we checked out.

Did not eat breakfast there because they only had a buffet for breakfast. The bar was out of Chardonnay and olive brine and olives we could not have a glass of wine that we liked or a dirty martini. We stayed for six days and the day we were leaving was when they were getting everything back in supply. Not very good planning on their part.

The President Hotel is within walking distance of the British Museum. The tube station is nearby. The room was small, but not unexpected in London. We had a terrible breakfast at the hotel and opted to go to coffee shops thereafter. It is walkable to the theaters and a long walk to Trafalgar Square, but a nice walk.

The location of this hotel is great - we walked from King's Cross. it is reasonably priced. Bed was comfortable and shower is a step in (good for older people like us). We needed more electrical outlets than we got (we both use CPAP machines) but with an extension cord we made it work. Staff are very friendly and professional. Many restaurants within a short walk. Lobby has a nice atmosphere.

The President is a decent and affordable hotel handy for Euston and king’s Cross, close to Russell Square and the Tube Station, lots of restaurants, cafes and bars and it’s an easy walk to thectheatre district. It’s not fancy but you tend to just sleep in the room when in London and my wife and I really like The President Hotel.

I struggled to rate this hotel fairly. It is a nice hotel. The rooms are clean. The location is perfect. It is surrounded by restaurants, shopping, and about a 20-minute walk to most theaters. The reason I won’t stay here again is that the walls are paper thin. I could hear every conversation in the room next to us, and it seemed as if they were speaking in a “regular” volume. We could hear every room in our vicinity’s doors closing in the hallway. Also no air conditioning so you will most likely need to sleep with your window open. One night, there was a car alarm that went off for a long time. The hotel does leave ear plugs next to the bed, so I am sure they are aware of this issue.

Great continental breakfast with good selection of hot food, breads and pastries.
Location is fantastic at close walking distance to tube station. Overall condition is great and the room size is decent with good tv selection, inclusive of Netflix and YouTube.
Only downside is the lack of AC so you will need to open the windows to ventilate and there isn't temperature control. A heater is present though.
