The entire resort was spotless. The bed was comfortable and we had a beautiful view of the mountains. The rooms and sitting areas were all beautifully appointed and inviting. At check-in, we were not acknowledged, received no orientation, and no assistance was offered with luggage. At the on-site restaurant, although we were seated on time and ordered promptly, our table was largely ignored. The appetizer soup arrived about 40 minutes after we placed our order, only after we asked about it, and it was served cold. Overall attentiveness was noticeably lacking compared to surrounding tables.
Additionally, basic in-room requests were not accommodated. For water or simple essentials such as toothpaste, we were told to go to the front desk ourselves, and nothing was delivered to the room. Management did follow up with an apology, which was appreciated, but no meaningful effort was made to address or make up for the experience.

Staff was friendly, but certainly not to the extent I would have thought in this Resort. Room was nice, but it came with a price of $600 per night for the suite…..nothing out of the ordinary for the price. Breakfast buffet left little desire for the appetite for the price of $27 adults and $15 for kids. Dinner at the hotel was very overpriced for the meal….almost in every category. 3 ice creams and a 2” sq chocolate cake was $60, ouch…took over 45 minutes to get it served, unacceptable! No simple coffee/danish option in the main lodge…..had to go out in weather to go 1 mile away. And there, the service was very slow and it was pricey as well for no table service. Overall, I would seek other options for my next visit. We had better expectations!

Burned out lightbulb and no wand for the blinds in the door to allow us to close them. Placed call to housekeeping around 5:00pm, voice mail said they would get back to us. Never did. Reported it to the front desk and even brought the burned bulb with us. Said he would place an order. When we came back from dinner around 9pm, nothing had been corrected. Called the front desk again, was told he had put in an order. When I asked if someone was still around to fix, said \"let me check\" then came back and said they had left for the day. Did not contact them again the 2nd day, and when we returned to our room that night, nothing had been taken care of. Very disappointed in their handling of the issue.

Spectacular views! Wonderful accommodations with photos of the Von Trapp family throughout. Excellent offerings on the History of this famous family. Dinner was superb and again, breathtaking views. Unfortunately we did not have the allotted time to take in all that the resort has to offer guests in tours, walkabouts, etc. I would definitely recommend and we will return.

The room was quiet for the most part. The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is that the heater was noisy. It woke me up every time it came on.

The property is very nice and clean. The room was bigger than expected. The only negative comment I have is we went to dinner in their higher end restaurant. We needed to order a gluten-free item and our waiter told us that we would piss off the chef. That comment alone almost made us leave. But we stayed in the meal was adequate but not worth the price. Overall, the hotel was fantastic.

The lodge was very nice, food was good and the area is beautiful. My only complaint is that things just didn’t seem to be organized. You need to sign up for tours, but they were all ful before we got there. The sugar house was a point of interest for one tour and it was locked up. We arrived on October 24th and were about a week too late for the peak foliage change. Overall it a very nice place.

The resort is in such a beautiful area, and our room was very nice with an amazing view of the mountains, we could sit just outside our room and take it all in. The bed was great and the shower nice as well. The staff was quite unfriendly upon arrival - front desk and concierge were very blah. Our room was very pricey and I'd think for that price they would go out of their way to be friendly/nice/accommodating. Overall I'm glad we stayed here, but for the price would not stay again.

The Von Trapp Lodge was idyllic. The entire area around the lodge is filled with hiking trails and quiet nature. We especially enjoyed the sheep and Scottish highland cows in the pastures on the property. We also took advantage of the family history tour. Everything was exceptional.

Unfortunately the outlets on either side of the bed were not working(3 out of 4 outlets weren’t working). We fell in love with Vermont! This hotel was high on my bucket list as a life long Von Trapp/ Sound of Music fan. The resort is itself is so cute, well maintained, amazing views and has tons of things to do. We went on the historical tour and got to meet Kristina Von Trapp, the granddaughter of the Captain and Maria (definitely the highlight of our trip). We definitely plan on returning.

This is our second time here and it’s wonderful! There is plenty to do on the property and also in Stowe! A must see if you are a fan of The Sound of Music!

The buffet breakfast is quite nice. The place is full of “Sound of Music” lore. The wine tasting (Wednesdays and Saturdays) is well done and comes with five wine, cheese, crackers, and fruit. Don’t miss the “history” lecture with a trip to the family graveyard. Really enjoyed the entire stay.

A beautifully maintained property with extremely courteous staff members. If you are a Sound of Music fan -- you will love all of the photos displayed around the resort. There are so many cozy rooms to spend time relaxing or playing traditional board games. A great lodge feeling in the mountains with beautiful views. Make sure to check out the stars at night and to watch the documentary about the real Maria von Trapp.

Suite didn't have ventilation in our bed room if our suite. We had to leave the door open between the living g space and the bedroom to receive air. Our daughter slept in the couch pull out it was fair, not too comfortable. Many activities were on the list are added charges and the charges were not listed in the posting in the lodge. Only the rsvp and charges were listed on a flyer given at check in. Cable TV list and the actual Tv channels are different, this needs updating. The pianist was excellent but to sit and listen you had to dine in the formal dining room and pay a very high charge for dinner. The room was not prepared for the three adult guests . Not enough towels , soap , shampoo ect . We had to call for these items. The facility had the three adults staying prior to check in and the room should have been properly set up for the number of adult guests. Not very attentive to details . Slightly disappointed with the stay!:((
