The hotel staff were polite and accommodating; however, our overall stay was very disappointing. The electricity fluctuated frequently, and the generator kept overheating, which caused the air conditioning in our room to stop working. Unfortunately, my son and I both developed a high fever during our stay, and the lack of proper cooling added significant stress and discomfort.

I requested at least a partial discount due to these issues, but the hotel did not coordinate with Expedia and never provided any update or resolution. Because of this experience, I will not choose to stay at this hotel again when I visit Boracay.

A great friendly bar. Staff were the best.
Breakfast buffet was very Filipino based, nothing for foreigners. As a 77 year old I found it difficult to walk adjacent to the pool towards my room. Staff did their best to keep walkway dry but you can't stop kids from splashing

Stay away! Waste if money.

Terrible hotel, incompetent housekeeping personnel who do not know how to clean the room...just sweeped the floor and left, didn't refill the toiletries or made up the end or washed the coffee cups. The management tolerates liquor drinking and smoking infront of guest rooms until midnight with people shouting and laughing like it's their private place, your room will smell like cigarettes especially the row of 1009-1017, 1008-1016...in the morning, the area looks like a dumpster of trash left behind people.

Hotel is situated right in front of the beach which is brilliant. Excellent staff. Very clean room and we’ll maintained pool. Food’s good but lacking fresh fruits. Some of the residents are quite noisy at times.

They are not helpful in time of need

There wasa tyhpoon and we had to stay extra night went to front desk they wanted to charge me 4800 peso anight as a walk in i went online and got the room for 2700 peso anight i asled why so exspensive they said i was walkin i didnt even check out of my room yet so they dont care about you just money and also the Chinese had cheaper rate than me for walkin i cant prevent the westher but they should help you not gouge you i spent alot of money there but i will never go back December 4 2019

Air conditioning was not working well. Told the front desk. They said they checked it and it was ok. Room never made it to a comfortable level. Room was booked with a free dinner. Hotel only honored dinner for one night not the two nights booked. At checkout they tried to charge us for the dinner. We had to remind them. Room was noisy till 4:00 am. Hard to sleep.

We were in Boracay recently and booked our stay with Golden Phoenix. The first room offered to us had two single beds. The picture used on this website is quite misleading as I was told there are very few rooms in the hotel with a king size bed. Also, the room seemed to have been cleaned but one of the beds had a lot of sand on it. After speaking to reception we were finally given a new room with a king bed. The wifi system is quite annoying as well. At the front desk they display prices for wifi usage but we were given free access, only thing was we had to get a new code every 24hours. The breakfast mainly offers South-east Asian cuisine and nothing to write home about. The hotel is located in Station 3 but if you are a family or a want to get some sleep at night, I would recommend Station 1 or the end of Station 2 closer to Station 1. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The money is better spent elsewhere.

The check in was okay , but was disappointed with the room , as no view just cement wall outside the window , had 2 single beds instead of king bed , safe not work had to get another safe . the bed was hard , so not good sleep !
The breakfast was very disappointing , not much choice . Hotel in need of repair as lots of rotten wood

Not worth the money.

Checked in nice and easy but soon discovered the "free WiFi" didn't reach our room on the 4th floor. It was Christmas so we wanted WiFi to stay in touch with family. No one seemed to want to help us with this and one employee was very rude.
Our air conditioning dripped in the night and got fixed on our last day. The water went off on the last day too, and no explanation was given. The bar sold very few drinks and breakfast was always busy, maybe due to the time of year. It was nice and clean, but I am sure we could have stayed in better places for the price.

Some staff like reception staff are not friendly or smiling. It would be nice if they have a warm smiling faces not sulky. But the rest of the staff are polite and friendly. Pool area slippery dangerous, witness a kid slipped and hurt herself bleeding nose and lump on the head. Staff no clue how to give first aid. No incident report at all which is the management to take the necessary responsibility. No action except ice for the head that's it. Never reported to parents the incident. That's really bad. Room is smelly and leaking Aircondition. Food not bad. Buffet breakfast is limited choices. Building needs some upgrading and improvement. Overall I rate is 2 1/2 star. Please improve floor area on the pool. Make it anti slip flooring.

The rooms either have no view at all (looking straight in to the wall of the neighbor building), or looks down on to the neighboring slum neighborhood. Some of the staff were quite friendly, though most don't speak good English, and some are outright rude and unprofessional. The hotel was not cheap either, so all in all it provided very poor value for money.

We arrived before 1 pm which is over an hour before check in. A staff helped us keep our things first and brought us to the restaurant which is right at the beachfront. Welcome drinks were immediately serve as well as we were waiting for our room to be ready. I was hoping to get checked in early, apparently we had to wait until 2:30 pm before we finally got our room key. Staff were really helpful and pleasant so that made it up with all the wait. In my opinion, this hotel had the most genuinely pleasant and well mannered staff I've ever been so far. We got a family room which is of relatively good size for 4 persons. I'm in fact happy with it, 4 twin sized bed, all the furniture were good, and most importantly they have a safe and the heater was working perfectly well. My kids enjoyed the pool so much and i'm really glad that it was well maintained. There is barely anyone utilizing the pool which may be the reason why there isn't any pool attendant at times. The view was great from outside as you look towards the right side of the beach. Won't beat station 1 beachfront though. Station 1 is about 25 mins to 30 mins by foot and approximately 15 minutes walk to Dmall.

Disappointing

Hard to get to from the street. Don't believe Southwest Tours when they tell you they'll drop you off at your hotel's front door. This was not the case with us. We had to lug our baggage through unpaved back streets through market stalls ourselves. The hotel sent 1 porter who carried 2 out of the 6 luggage we had.

Check in was slow. Despite arriving past 3pm, our rooms weren't ready. Our 'welcome drinks' was cheap Tang. Family rooms are spacious but no luggage racks available. The 1 lift constantly reeked of mould due to the wet plastic flooring. Breakfast spread is dismal and caters for the high number (>95%) of Korean/Chinese guests. Wouldn't be surprised if they served dinner leftovers from the night before.

Toilet clogged up on third night and we were told not to flush used toilet paper down the toilet. Disgusting. Definitely not staying here again.

Good for the Money.

Couple in our mid twenties, stayed for 7 nights. The hotel is pretty much what we expected. Easily a 3 star hotel in Europe. The breakfast is oriental but their was still cereal, eggs, toast and pancakes. The hotel is quiet yet a 20 minute walk to dmall. The dinner menu is on par with the rest of the island and the happy hour was well priced.
My only criticism is that the pool is kind of cold.

Beware of henna, fake tan stains ect. The hotel will charge about 40 usd for each sheet, towel ect stained.

Reading all the bad reviews about the place, you don't believe it.
But, I can concur with what everyone has said.
Armed guards stop you if you look like you are checking out. The reason is, when you finally do, the guard stands next to you while reception tells you owe them US$150 for a stained 50cent towel.
You ask if they offer any help with booking activities on the island. They just obtain a dodgy vendor off the street who rips you off.
No activities information available in the hotel.
Room not so clean and the bed is very uncomfortable and gives you a week or more of lower back pain after stay.
Bed sheets stained and/or dirty.
Breakfast food not so good.
Good thing is the location.

near to station 2 and overall ok.

The hotel is quite clean and overall ok. But was wonder why the reservation staff are never reply the email. I was email a few times to hotel reservation to arrange airport transfer. But no one reply the email. Until called to hotel and was informed by one staff that I should call to reservation which is another number and refused to transfer the call. Then no choice called to another number and the staff told me that they received the email. Ok let it be and I booked the transfer for 2 ways. But when we checked in the reception staff told me that we never book the transport for departure. So I booked for the departure and the staff told me will call to the room and inform us the time. But until last night they never inform us the time and we have to go and check again. They confirmed the departure time as 9:30am. We checked out at 9:00am and wait until 10am but no one come and pick up. I think the receptionist never confirm the transport with their agent and at the end the agent come and fetched at 10:15am which is last minute arrangement. We sure will not choose this hotel again.

Great couple getaway

We enjoyed our stay at Golden phoenix. The staffs are great and friendly. One thing that bothers me is that the smell of our room no. 3011 is not good because of the refrigerator leak. Maybe they should clean and check it out first before the guest check in. The mini bar light are busted, i asked them to change it, they say YES but then on our 4days of stay they even dont remember to change it. The food is good, the pool is really great.

great room nice comfy bed but fairly hard .... balcony had no view as they have built an extention infront ........ the hotel is aimed at the Chinese/japanese market ...... we went else were for breakfast ....... they say room service finishes at 10 pm but the kitchen closes at 9pm !!!!........ if u check in with a filipno gf and u come back at night the guard will think u have picked her up and get u to go to reception and register her even if already done so ..... unless they have seen u go out together .... the gaurds are not friendly ..... the porters are very friendly ...... would i stay there again NO

A little disappointing

There was inconsistency in the service provided by staff - particularly at the front desk. Housekeeping staff were always polite and were receptive to needs. We needed to ask for things that were missing eg. kettle for the room, room service menu (and we were in a suite). Things like an ironing board and iron had to be borrowed from housekeeping and when we asked for our sheets to be changed (after 5 days) it looked as though they didn't have any more double bed sheets so we had single ones put on instead.

Great Location & Staff, Rooms need Improvement

I recently stayed at the Golden Phoenix during the last week of October. Overall, the trip was great, the hotel was decent but definitely overpriced considering the quality of rooms. Here are the Pros : Great Location, Great Service, Buffet Breakfast is included with your stay, Awesome pool. Here are the Cons: Rooms aren't truly cleaned daily ( Just beds made & floors swept), Worn out furniture in the Angol Suites, poor drainage in bathroom tub, and overall poor quality tub fixtures ( constant leaks)

Bad location and dirty surroundings

It was a bad experience staying with this hotel. First the location is away from the main road. The road is flooded and bumpy and is about 10-15 minutes walk from main road. While your walking you will see a lot homeless sleeping in the talipapa market at night. My room has no AC, no screen window, my view is garbage, no nose tissue, no cap shower, very old scrapy furniture, broken chair, very hard bed mattress, two tiny smelly towel. I suppose to stay 3 nights on this hotel but I did not want to ruin my vacation. I decided to check out next morning and transfer to Discovery Shore Hotel.

Not your best option in Boracay

The hotel is recently built, but doesn't always show it. We visited on a rainy weekend, so there was water everywhere, in the restaurant, hallway and in some of the rooms. We had the deluxe room, which has nothing 4 stars about it, try to get one of the better ones. Breakfast was Another problem is the access to the hotel from the street. All cars and tricycles stop 300 meters away from the hotel and you have to walk that distance through a dirt road (that becomes a pig puddle during rainy days).

Terrible Management of Nice Property

Reserved 2 rooms... both oceanfront at high cost per night ... was promised in-room internet which I have come to expect from any quality hotel and which I need for business when I travel .. 1st room had no working air con so room transfer was necessary .,.,. 2nd room had no internet service and hotel technician's remedy was to open my windows letting in mosquitoes to pick up wifi from Pita Hut down the beach which had virtually no signal ...we had late flight so I requested 1 hour additional time to check out and was denied for both rooms ... at checkout was charged for broken ashtray and so requested credit for no internet service ...again denied 100% ... big patio on ocean but only 2 small hard chairs and tiny cheap table...the only thing management did was play the Korean flute in the afternoon ... would never stay there again ...

The area is lively and convenient with many people staying there. The hotel is cheap but offers value for the price.

Хороший бюджетный вариант на первой линии, прямо на пляж выходите из отеля. Очень удобные кровати, чистое белье, приветливый персонал. В наличии все нужные услуги в номере: сейф, холодильник, чайник и чайные принадлежности, телевизор со множеством каналов, кондишка сплит система, бассейн, хороший спа салон при отеле, шведский стол. И я это перечисляю не просто так, потому что для Боракай в отелях средней цены это большая редкость. При бронировании обязательно просите номера 3-4 этаж будет посветлее. Во всех номерах отсутствует вид из окна, от слова совсем, окна выходят на стены соседних отелей и номера очень темные, дневной свет не попадает, балконов нет. Есть люксы с видом на море и с личной террасой, в количестве 4 шт на весь отель. Нам понравилось в целом, отелем довольны.

L'hôtel est bien situé, tout près de la plage et en plus il y a une piscine.
Les wc ne sont pas équipés de douchette et en plus il ne faut pas jeter de papier toilette dedans sous peine de les boucher, aussi il faut se doucher après avoir fait ses besoins.
Le wifi était en panne et le réseau téléphonique de Boracay aussi.
Les fast-foods de Boracay sont bruyants et il y a plus de monde que dans ce de Manille. Je ne retournerai plus jamais à Boracay.

立地はそこそこだが不安の多いホテル

チェックイン時、旅程表は印刷して持って来ないと困ると言われた。
Wifiが滞在中壊れており二日間使用出来なかった。謝罪の一言も無かった。プランにwifiは含まれているにも関わらず利用料を追加されそうになった。無料は1人1コネクションまで。追加は別途だった。部屋では快適にwifiを利用出来なかった。
朝食は毎日ほぼ同じ内容。6時台はまだ良いが9時台になると品数も減り冷たかった。
掲載写真と実物が異なり、かなり古くメンテナンスされていない。(1階のプール側のトイレは便座が無い物まであった。部屋のコンセントも少なく一部壊れていた。)
滞在客はほぼアジア系。近隣の新しいホテルから深夜まで音楽が聞こえる。ほとんどの部屋が窓を開けると横の建物の壁。
チェックアウトの明朝、空港までの送迎をお願いしたが前日までに予約しなければならないそう(事前説明無し)。
金庫が開けれないトラブルがたまたま発生したところ、ハウスキーピングがあっさりと開けれることが発覚。スーツケースに貴重品は入れた方が無難。
唯一深夜のセキュリティのスタッフとビーチ沿いのバーのスタッフの対応には好感が持てた。

첨에 예약해놓은방이 이미 나갓다고 해서
더 업그레이드 된 방을 받게 된건 좀 개이득 ㅋㅋ
위치는 스테이션 1이랑은 좀 멀어서 아쉽지만 바이크 타고 다녀서 상관없엇네요~
아참 여기가면 1층에 있는 마사지샵 완전 강추 ㅋㅋ해변에 있는곳보다 100페소정도 비싸지만 매우 훌륭 힘이 다르더라구요 굿굿

Organise pour des groupes de touristes chinois ou tout est organise par le tour operateur.
Pas de connaissance pourr organiser le transfer de nuit vers l'aeroport international le plus proche (transport terrestre, bateau, puis transport terestre). Attitude attentiste sans aucune initiatve.
Hotel ne convient pas pour des touristes individuels
BAr hors de prix comparativemet aux bars autour de lui (3 fois plus cher)

Wiederholter Auftenthalt im Golden Phoenix

Das Hotel wurde zum zweiten Mal gebucht und wird immer noch bevorzugt von chinesischen Gästen besucht und ist darauf auch eingestellt. Das Zimmer ist sehr schön und sauber. Der Pool ist sehr sauber. Das Frühstück ist immer noch sehr auf die chinesischen Gäste eingestellt aber schon vielfältiger als beim letztem Besuch. Die Lage ist sehr central am withe beach.

主路到酒店的路是碎石子路对于拉行李箱的游客很不方便。游泳池的水不是很干净，房间是国内三星标准。

밤에 가기에는 무서운곳

새벽에 도착을 했는데 들어가는길이 너무 무서웠습니다
호텔앞에는 길거리 아이들 몇십명이 바닥에 나열되어 누워 있었고 길은 울퉁불퉁하고 ㅠㅠ
정말 공포였습니다
새벽2시쯤 도착하니 문은 닫혀 있었고 한참 지나서야 직원이 문을 열어줘서 들어갈수 있었습니다
그외 직원들은 상당히 친절했으며 패밀리객실은 생각보다 넓었습니다
대체로 가격대비 만족했습니다

Poorly maintained Chinese hotel in Boracay.

Stayed 2 nights. Typical Chinese hotel poorly maintained. Owner Chines, mostly occupied by Chinese grouptravellers.
Really bad that securitybox wasn't working. After waiting 3h they informed that they had lolst the masterkey....
Would not stay here again.
