The hotel staff were fabulous. Very friendly and helpful. Our room looked out to Massimo Teatro, which was beautiful. It's a very lively area.I was traveling with a friend and requested twin beds. The beds were a little stiff for my liking. Even though our room faced the main drag, once we closed our balcony door, the room was quiet. I would definitely go back to this hotel.

The advertising pictures are totally deceiving. Old dirty carpet throughout the facility and in the room, unclean bathroom with previous client contact-lens stack to wall, non draining shower, cracks in wall, had to disconnect desk lamp to have any power at the only desk in the room. 1) to go from the street to the lobby guests have to walk up 12 steps, which is not an easy task when one has to carry luggage.
2) before checkout, there was no electricity. The hotel was deprived of hot water and light, to name a few issues.

Hotel was well placed near centre. Staff were helpful, although had to phone from home to get parking instructions as emails went unanswered. Area was noisy until midnight and music started blaring at 6:30am in the morning. Hotel was reasonably clean but needs an upgrade Overall this was not a 4 star hotel based on others in Sicily.

The hotel is centrally located between the older, scenic part of the city along via Maqueda, where there is a multitude of shops, street vendors, restaurants and small bars. The Massimo theatre is across the street and was a lively place to sit and people watch. In addition to opera and other shows hosted there, the view of the building is quite beautiful in itself. The slightly remodeled section of the city is to the right of the hotel coming out of the front doors which leads to a completely different feel of the city. Although Palermo can seem a bit rough around the edges, do not be afraid to walk the streets of the older side, that’s where you will stumble upon the magic. Longer daytime walking of 15-20 mins here and there will lead to some of the most spectacular architectural wonders. If you can look beyond the crumbling cascade of post WWII damage and appreciate the dichotomy of old and new, you will find the real beauty in the complex multiculturalism, lightheartedness in the people, and a ton of hidden gems.

This hotel was a small, quaint hotel. Breakfast included, was delivered to your room daily. Convenient walking distance to the markets, beautiful Cathedrals, train station, the pier, and plenty of shops and dining experiences. The area reminded me of a New York (Manhattan) vibe during the day, and on the weekends at night, in New Orleans, I would stay here again. Make sure to ask the staff for restaurant suggestions for dinner in the area, their recommendations were so good.

We had a wonderful experience the two days we stayed. Employees always attentive to our needs. An older hotel very well kept. Only drawback were the stairs we needed to climb to reach the reception.
The included breakfast (served in the room) is great, don’t miss it!

The staff was very helpful, they made the stay feel like being at home. The hotel is located at the best place in Palermo and at the intersection of two areas - on the left is the crowded old town, ramshackle, on the right is modern, clean with great shops and some lovely cafe's. The staff guided us to great restaurants and the best pizzas at Freida Pizzarea

All reception/front desk personnel extremely willing, able and happy to assist us with theatre reservations including discounted tickets, and must add, on a very short notice,
recommended interesting and important sites to visit, restaurants, shuttle service and even scheduling and securing an on site visit from a laboratory to collect sample for covid test, we are very grateful with the entire staff, their professionalism, their attention to our needs, they made us feel at home, additionally, the property is located just a few steps from the theatre and all major importatnt and must visit sites.

The hotel entrance was located on the first floor of the building up a steep flight of stairs, and our room was on the same level overlooking the Piazza Verdi and the Theatre Massimo. This was lovely and convenient but very, very noisy as people socialised loudly all and every night. However, the staff were friendly and helpful and the room was lovely.

This boutique hotel has an old school and we felt at home in our room. This hotel is probably one of the best located hotels in Palermo and provides plenty of options around the city within walking distance. There are plenty of neat restaurants and cafes and shopping to choose from.

The room was clean with high ceilings and the bed was firm and comfortable. The free breakfast was a nice touch and better than expected.
We will be recommending this place to our friends and family on their future visits to Italy.

Great hotel. Location was great, unless you are seeking to gain access by car. We had a car, and were flummoxed by the pedestrianized location -- did not know where to go with the car or how to unload luggage (which we had a lot of). We blundered into a nearby paid parking lot; found the hotel; found out that the lot was where we were supposed to leave the car in the first place; and shuttled the luggage through the streets to the hotel and up the flight of stairs. Departure was easier, because the staff brought the car to the hotel and loaded it (wish we knew this beforehand). Aside from the parking snafu, the hotel was comfortable; staff was super friendly and helpful; it was clean and adequately furnished (including bathroom). Parking was extra but reasonable. Very European. Breakfast was good, but because of the small breakfast room size, we were encouraged to have it brought to our room at no extra charge.

Decent hotel - certainly not a 4 star. 3 at best. The staff, while very nice, slightly feels like they’re doing their jobs as oppose to providing you with a service.

Compared to other boutique motels- such as Hotel Ducale in Taormino -they need:

1. an overhaul in appearance- it is tired, especially the carpeting. ☹️
2. Our shower had mold on it from lack of attention & detail. It’s kind of like you had ONE job to do and yet...
3. Their breakfast is abysmal at best- pre-wrapped from the night before or longer- dried Swiss cheese & salami & ham-COMPLETELY lazy in my opinion on their part. The fresh fruit is delicious. The yogurt paltry. The obligatory Italian sweets okay- nothing special.

Basically they need a refresher course on how to make ones stay enjoyable & with an explanation of what that area has to offer in terms of tourism.

On the bright side they were very accommodating when I was unsatisfied with my first room and they switched it the next day one that had a much better feel to it.

Overall- I’m a happy go lucky person who enjoys getting to know the staff & appreciate when staff makes you feel welcomed. It’s not like they didn’t...it’s just seems like they were doing thier jobs.

Once again- a lot to learn from other boutique motels like Hotel Ducale in Taormino.

Great location in Palermo. Staff was great and very helpful. If you have a car, follow GPS directions as close to the hotel as possible. Walk to the hotel and one of their great staff will dive it to the parking garage. You will be so happy for them to do this. The hotel is directly across from the Theatre. Breakfast was very nice in room fresh orange juice and coffee of your choice. would say here again with out any hesitation.

We were unable to stay in our original hotel due to electrical issues... however, they walked us over to a sister hotel ((Hotel Palazzo Poeta). The staff was amazing, our room was lovely - very modern and HUGE. I have celiac ( as does the owner) and I had the best gluten free breakfast pastries of my life! Again, can’t say enough about the staff. A rocky start turned out to be just our luck!

We had a spacious room with a terrace facing the main piazza, directly opposite the Teatro Massimo. We appreciated the large comfy bed, the in-room espresso maker and the breakfast delivered to our room each morning. The staff was very friendly and helpful, handling restaurant recommendations, taxis, requests for irons, etc. The location was surprisingly fun. We came to Palermo simply to see the opera at Teatro Massimo but there was so much going on in the piazza in front of the hotel that we were entertained just hanging out and being part of the action. The location is also very good for restaurants and shopping and within walking distance of many of the attractions of the city including the open air markets, the cathedral, etc. Would definitely stay here again if coming through Palermo in the future
