Clean room, great breakfast.
Sheila
the room was clean upon arrival. Breakfast was good and appreciated.
Kyle
An excellent place to stop over for a night on a long road trip. My two teenage sons and I found the beds comfy, the breakfast adequate, the staff kind and helpful, and the area great for food options.
Holly
My grandson and i stayed here for 2 nights during a baseball tournament at Marshall Park. This was a great places to stay! Very quiet and close to everything you could possibly need. 10 minutes or less from Marshall Park. We will definitely be staying here again if we’re in the area.
Michelle
Very clean hotel rooms were fantastic!
Sarena
Hotel is older but seems to be renovated or being renovated. Not horrible but not the best. Breakfast was delicious and staff was kind. I will stay here again.
Kristi
Extremely courteous staff, great breakfast!
Patrick
We only stayed one night and the total stay was about 14 hours as we just wanted to visit Shawshank Prison while passing though. But it was a great hotel. Clean, safe, great staff. It is 10 min from Shawshank and near so many other things. Bathroom was clean, shower was great, breakfast was great. Free parking, pet friendly. Just a great hotel and a great experience for us staying here.
Kathleen

Very convenient check-in experience. Very nice and clean and comfortable room. Very adequate breakfast buffet.
Jackie
The room was very clean, the staff was nice especially the lady in that served breakfast.
kathy
when we returned to hotel later at night there was no parking left. we had to park at the applebees
Donald
Good breakfast.
Chris
The staff was friendly but the evening staff person tried to close the pool an hour early until other guest started complaining and then he changed his tune and he left it open till 10 like it was supposed to be instead of closing it at 9 like he was trying to. So there was that. But there was also the day staff who thankfully called us after our daughter had left her iPad in the room after we had checked out the housekeeping staff found it in the room. The front desk staff called us and let us know and we were able to go back and retrieve it. Other than the first night it was a pleasant stay. Would I stay there again and would I recommend…… yes I would!
Kathleen
we liked the location , we enjoyed our trip.
James
It was ok.
Cynthia
Room was very nice, bed super comfy, and breakfast was excellent. The only drawback was the TV - the guide wouldn't display anything, just 23-1, 23-2, etc. but no description of what was on each channel. I finally figured out how to turn the volume up and down, hold down the button while pressing up/down. Boy, it shouldn't be that hard to find a movie to play.

Unfriendly
William
Was extremely dissapointed in the service. Book multiple rooms for a lomg stay for a business group. Immediately after booking realized each room was booked for an extra day. Called within 10 minutes to get it corrected and neither hampton or expedia would fix it duebto it being booked through expedia. Will not use either company expedia did a poor job trying to fix it, and the hampton inn s customer service was absolutely terrible. The employee basically laughed about it and said it was our loss. Mind you the rooms were rented for 2 weeks later and the hotel was saying it was full would have been very easy to release the rooms and rebook them. Just very dissapointed with the lack of care for their customers. Also lots of construction going on dust everywhere in the halls and the room.
janet
Hotel is being remodeled and several parking spots were filled with construction equipment.
Clark
Never again
We booked thru hotel.com. BIG MISTAKE. Our “spacious” room turned out to be about 10’x 10’ room next to the elevator. Noisy thumping all night. The Hampton hotel was under construction. More noise, no pool and no hot tub. After checking out the room, we were told to contact hotel. Com because they do not allow cancellations. We ncontacted their customer service and were told we would get a credit to use on future bookings with hotel.com. Guess what! It never came. The front desk told us hotel.com books the cheapest smallest rooms on site. We will not book through them again. Very disappointed.
Randy
Great Hotel Stay
Despite the construction, the hotel still looked great. Our room was clean and looked great. Every employee we dealt with was friendly and courteous. We will definitely be staying again when we're in town!
Donna
A place to lounge other than my room.
Crystal
Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Good experience at check in
Michele
Undergoing renovations....we had nice new carpet. Bed was a bit too firm for my liking but I slept ok. Room was clean. Breakfast was great!!!
frederick
Hotel is under construction they started awful early. Might stay again, but even when they’re finished.
Gary
It's ok 👍
Stay was good i feel the breakfast could have been better but overall good place to stay.
Jennifer
Great breakfast. Very cute eating area decorated for holidays. Loved the hot cocoa bar
Amanda
Worth the stay
We have stayed at this hotel multiple times. It is an older building so it is a bit run down but nice overall. The breakfast is not great, but the bed was very comfy. Water pressure in the shower is lacking but everything was clean. Also the staff is very friendly and helpful.
Adrianna
Great coffee, hot cocoa bar and breakfast bar!
Larry
The whole experience with expedia was horrible, 30 degrees out stuck in parking lot cause the booking that i paid and made took over a hour to check me in .. had no where to go was 10 hours away was stuck in the parking lot. Would never to this again being out of town check in did not go smooth at all
Jimmy
Only diwn sude no tv with apps
Brenda
Very nice and clean. The staff very friendly and informative.
Stacy
I stayed there for four days during Christmas. I was greeted with a smile and kind words each time I was in and out of the hotel by Sabrina and June. Breakfast was wonderful as each morning Debbie or Sheila greeted me with a smile and made sure I had everything to my liking. The pool was clean and my granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed swimming. Although I didn’t partake an extra cleaning during my stay when I needed extra paper products, Emily happily provided them.
Polly
Clean spacious rooms with friendly staff, easy check in and check out. Quiet rooms great breakfast, everything works well
Chelsea
Breakfast was very good
Linda

Lynn
Easy in and out from highway.
Stephanie
The staff was amazing. Excellent service.
Karen
Very nice area
James
The front desk staff was not trained very well. Had an attitude. Mr had a large divot under the carpet right as you walk into the room. Probably not a big deal for most , but when you are handicapped and have balance issues it can lead to a very serious fall.
michael
It was a stop over on the way home from Canada. Great location to food and shopping. Guest services were super friendly and the fall decorations were so cute!!
Daniel
It was clean, which is most important aspect. The road accessing the property is severely dilapidated. Large potholes.
Patti
We had a very enjoyable stay. Our room was clean and ready for us. The people we talked to at the desk as we were checking in and out were very polite and efficient. Breakfast was delicious!! Great variety!!
Mary Pat
The rooms did not appear to be sound proofed.
Breakfast was a disappointment - grocery store packaged muffins.

After reading some reviews I thought maybe I should have booked elsewhere, however the hotel ended up being very nice. For an older hotel it had been updated nicely. Breakfast was very good for a hotel. Only downside side is the pool is small and the hot tub doesn’t work.
robert
All was good ! And great mattress and pillows !
David
Staff was friendly and helpful
Cynthia
Convenience to my event
Julie
The bathroomhad a sticky floor. The room was cold and I could not change the thermostat. I told the desk clerk in the morning. She was very apologetic and said she would let maintenance and housekeeping know about my concerns.
Dawn
This is our third year staying here while visiting for a Shawshank Hustle race. The staff is friendly, the room is clean, and the breakfast is amazing! Thank you!
Richard
Everything was superb. Staff was exceptional and the hotel was convenient to everything you could possibly need. Applebees next door, several dining options within walking distance
Lisa
Property needs some updating!
Steve
Clean and comfortable place. The fitness room is small but functional. It is a little noisy being in a busy road and near the highway.
Dr. L. Jay
Workday projects completed!
We were staying at this hotel to be able to help our parents complete projects at their home. It was very hot (90+) and it was nice to have a cool place to relax and sleep. The tile floor was dirty and needed to be cleaned. Otherwise, no issues.
Breakfast was hot and fresh.

Old style furnishings
Hotel was fine, clean, but the furnishings need updating: there was not a single USB charge port in our room, although the furnishings were fine, they are state of the art circa 2000?
Cortney
It was a great spot, easy and close to everything..
Alfred
Check-in was so easy, efficient and friendly.

Racheal
Not a bad place for the price. Very happy with the speed of my check in and the room cleanliness
Evan
The staff was amazingly kind and helpful
Angela
Well maintained with a very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Crystal
Some suggestions
It was mostly nice but we wished the windows would have better insulation to drown out all the highway and street noise. With many cars and trucks that are loud we had 2 sound machines and ear plugs and still could hear all the outside noise. The room didn’t look like it got vacuumed and I think there should have been bigger trash cans in the rooms.
Patricia
Staff was outstanding!!!
Terry
A little dated in furniture and carpeting.
Susan
Clean. Good location. Close to the ohio Reformatory. I would stay here again
Kimberly
Easy Check in nice staff clean property free breakfast would stay again
Bryan

Kimberly
Everything was fresh and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Terry
Nice stay
I would like to commend your room cleaner Jen, who saw my wife and I coming down the hall, and held the elevator for us to get there, was extraordinarily friendly and gracious, and who subsequently found, and reported that I had left my rain jacket hanging in the closet. We were both very impressed with her friendly and helpful attitude, even before she turned my jacket in. You should be so lucky as to have an entire staff as professional, courteous, and friendly as Jen!
Tiffany
Comfortable Stay
Very comfortable stay, had a great dinner at the restaurant right next to the hotel so that was very convenient. There was some room noise, I was woken up around 4am to what sounded like a garbage truck outside, I was on the 2nd floor. Front desk very friendly and helpful.
Jodie
It was convenient for what I needed it for
Juliette
Just passing thru.Great stay.
