We really enjoyed our quiet stay at Marala. It was very clean, the room and bathroom were large and the entirety of the front of the resort offered amazing views. The restaurant and bar offered great selections! ALL the staff, front desk, waiters/waitresses, kitchen, housekeeping and bar tenders were kind and courteous. We would stay again!

One of a kind property. It was a lovely room on the second floor with the hot-tub for two and the swing and dinette. The shower had great water pressure and monkeys would tap on the windows. The views were amazing. Lots of wildlife to watch all over the property. The food was fabulous. It is a short drive to many attractions and beaches. The pool was perfect.

This hotel is a piece of paradise…the grounds are beautiful and pristine. The food and drinks, top notch, rooms clean and comfortable …but it’s the people who work there that make it even more special. Everyone there was polite, professional and absolutely helpful…one in particular was Tina. She made our stay absolutely wonderful…from booking tours, procuring taxi rides…something as simple as providing us extra towels…because of her we will absolutely return to Costa Rica and book The Marala Hotel.

Constant Road Noise

The Marala is a lovely little hotel--almost a boutique hotel really--with good service, comfortable facilities, and good food. The problem is that there is constant road noise from the highway below including engine braking from semis. So whether eating dinner in the open-air restaurant, enjoying a drink at the bar, or lounging by the pool, excessive road noise is a constant accompaniment to one's stay. Jake brakes from semis forced us to cease conversation momentarily every time a truck passed by. As a result, I can't recommend this hotel nor will I be staying there again.

A very cute, chic and modern boutique hotel. The hotel itself only has about 11-12 rooms and then they have a lodge a little further down the property.
Nice infinity pool & free breakfast every morning was awesome with nice selections as well.

The Marala Hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel with incredible views, an amazing restaurant, fantastic bars, and two gorgeous swimming pools. The sunsets are something that you see in movies. The staff was so kind and went above and beyond to make our stay so special. There is a troop of Capuchin monkeys that would come through the property at least once a day to eat fruit from the trees. They were great entertainment.
We got to visit a sister property for a day on the beach, called Marenaz Oceanfront Resort, which was lovely, with a nice pool, restaurant and bar.
We would definately stay at the Marala again.

We stayed 3 nights. One trash can only in the bathroom was for toilet paper since TP can't be flushed there. Water from the tap came and went. Never offered fresh towels. When we asked for fresh towels they said their dryer was out of service.

The Marala Hotel was a beautiful location, with a lovely pool and great service from very helpful staff members. The food was tasty and they had enough suitable vegetarian options. The rooms were comfortable, and clean.
It is quite close to the main road, so you can hear some traffic especially large trucks, but it didn’t really affect our overall experience.
Beautiful beach nearby as well for walks.

The staff were wonderful! The restaurant served so many delicious choices and the chef was very accommodating to tweeting our needs. Full service bar. Gorgeous view of the ocean from the beautiful pool. We liked being away from Jace which is very lively.
Our room was a bit tired…wobbly toilet, pin holes in the curtains, no safe for valuables. The floors outside our room, that led to the steps was extremely slippery…needs some treading to keep us safe from falling…this is a very humid environment!

Since the hotel only has ten rooms and a couple of bungalows it felt like we had the place to ourselves. The staff knew our names and room number which made it a more personable experience. The view was amazing, the grounds were perfectly landscaped rooms were clean and the food was absolutely delicious. The price of the rooms and food were great. Oh and the location was right in the middle of two of the most popular watches in the area.

Hidden Gem, don’t hesitate to book

Found this Gem last minute and wish we would have stayed longer. Amazing staff, rooms were stylish and comfortable, and excellent breakfast in the morning. Monkeys in the mango trees were fun to observe. Highly recommend!!

Macaw's, monkeys, great service and a view.

We had an amazing stay. The staff was very friendly, including the owner Aamit, who is passionate about service. The pool bar was a fun place to start. The restaurant and food was terrific. If possible try to stay on Friday for the soulful band. The view was great and the rooms were peaceful. The beds were very comfortable. We saw Macaws from the balcony of our very large room, and monkeys every day at about 4 pm. Enjoy. We would definately go back.

Beautiful, modern hotel. We loved the views, the bed was so comfortable, the pool and poolside bar was great. We loved the restaurant and felt the prices were fair. The best part, though, was the staff! Scarlet made the best drinks! Tracy and Bryan were fantastic servers. The food was fantastic!

Large room, nice restaurant if u can get a table.

They need to accomodate all their guests in the dining room with a few more smaller tables, especially if their is a band. Arrived for dinner to see several empty tables that said \"reserved\" and tables for ten with three people.

Pleasantly Surprised

We saw the resort on our way south. It looked interesting so we checked it out online. We drove back to the and booked one of the last available room. The whole resort has been expanded and renovated. It has an infinity pool overlooking the ocean with a full-service poolside bar. The restaurant serves a wide variety of food with an excellent selection of seafood. Dinner is served inside with excellent views or on an elevated deck designed to take full advantage of the sunset. Service was enthusiastic and professional. We couldn't be happier with our choice.

Hotel Staff was particularly nice. Ashley at the front desk was very accommodating. Restaurant food was good. Bedroom was comfortable. Ocean view spectacular. A little noise issue the 1st night because our room was close to the live entertainment. Overall happy stay.

What a wonderful hotel. People are extremely nice and will make sure you are happy. Food is great and bar has everything you may need. It was so nice that we did not leave the hotel for three days.
