Air Conditioner was broke.

The hotel was clean however the air conditioning did not work in the room. My wife was sweating hard after five minutes in the room. I reported the air conditioner to the front desk and they said they would take a look. I’m sure they knew the air conditioner did not work. It probably was reported broken by prior guest. We left and went to another hotel. This hotel was a waste of money for us because we want a room with air conditioning. Another issue, the hotel was more than twenty minutes drive to the boat terminal. Be careful when selecting a hotel especially if you have never visited Italy before.

You have to drive more than 20 minutes at Cinque Terre but you can see the beautiful scenery of the mountain. Breakfast was also good and staff were very kind. However, the mattress of the bed was not comfortable because it was old.

Albergo Serena is located up in the mountains with ~10 minutes of curvy roads, but the views are spectacular! Their facilities are somewhat new, it's looks like it used to be a house and they added some rooms but well planned. Their staff are friendly and attentive. Breakfast buffet was delicious with pastries, jams, cereals, salami, cheese, and even a make your own waffles machine!!! There's a local restaurant (Giova) located about 300 meters from them that it was awesome! Everything we had was very tasty with local beer.

beautiful comfort paired with a great breakfast

So very amazing. Bed was comfortable, room was spacious, bathroom was mind blowing! The shower had a rainfall shower head as well as a muscle massager. The whole place was amazing, but the breakfast was the show stopper. There was such a fantastic variety of foods, and it was all locally sourced. After a few weeks of the traditional French and Italian breakfasts of breads and espresso, the hotel provided a cornucopia of delicious fresh foods. I would continue to recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Pros:
- Nice views, olive trees.
- Short drive to train station for Cinque Terre visit.
- Good enough breakfast
- Free parking

Cons:
- Hard to find front desk. They were only there when we were check-in. Afterwards, we couldn't find them. You need to have a phone to reach out them.
- AC is paid ($5). Rooms has AC but you need to give 5 dolars to have the remote controller, and leave $50 deposits. We have slept with open windows. Hotel is at high altitude so without AC it was OK.
- Linens and towels were clean but not same for bathroom.Only shampoo was provided, no soap; especially shower was not clean.Bathroom needs some maintanence.
- They donot have enough power sockets - you would need them to charge your phone/tablet, camera/camcorder bateries.

Tip:
- Just a few meters ahead of this hotel there is a family restraurant. They cannot speak English but they have nice local food and very warm family environment.
- They didn't have Cinque Terre passes as it was mentioned in another review. So you would order online or purchase at the station.

No where but nice

Found it without any problems. Signage to reception is difficult to see as the arrow on the sign is literally 2cm looking like a left over sticker I was knocking on the front door ringing the buzzer etc and about to leave when I walked down the steep drive to the other parking area and found reception. They gave no reason why they didn't answer the buzzer. That done they booked me in ignoring request for ground floor and put me upstairs. I honestly don't think many ever read our special requests as this happens often. The room was very hot and needed AC or at least a fan. Window opened but onto noisy road and allowed bugs in. It was over 30oC everyday so room was difficult to remain in until late at night.
Breakfast was a highlight but the first morning we weren't allowed to use the pancake machine if you turned it on they turned it off. Working other days so not sure why they didn't explain instead of just turning off.
Rooms clean and comfortable but bathroom small.
Staying here a vehicle is a must as its nowhere but accessible by vehicle to eating facilities about 5kms away so if arriving around dinner time either have it in a nearby town first or bring something with you. Neighbours all park on the road outside the rooms and canbe a little noisy with the window open when they leave for work. The hotel also asks you to rate them on a slip in the room not on booking sites which I don't think is correct procedure as when we book on hotels.com we first read the reviews

Great for Family and Budget Travelers

Overall a very nice place to stay. Management was very accommodating when we arrived after the 11 pm check-in time due to train troubles. The room had some mold on the bathroom walls but was clean other than that. The location was also a little out of the way but very quiet.

Beautiful location in the hills

Beautiful location in the hills, although quite tricky to find. It has sort of a hostel feel & look but does have booked rooms like a hotel. We were a family of 4 driving through Italy so needed a stop before Rome. Perfectly adequate services, good wifi, good breakfast and very friendly staff. Free parking and a beautiful picturesque views in the morning. We had a double room with a double bed & two single beds for the teenagers. Lerici beach & township is stunning - well worth a drive & explore (10 minute drive) A great stopover when doing a roady through Italy.

Too noisy

For the price, this hotel is a good deal if you are looking for a basic place to stay with breakfast and parking. Unfortunately, it was a little to far from everything and even finding a place for dinner was a chore. Also, the building is very echoey and with noise from other guests all hours of the night, I couldn't sleep. If the hotel could enforce a quiet time of say 1am-6am, I might recommend it.

Nice scenery but a little lacking

As this hotel was on a hillside there was no traffic noise but you needed a car or taxi to reach it. The views across the valley and towards the mountains were superb. The breakfast had a good and varied selection of buffet food. Ensuite was very modern. Three things for improvement:
1) Parking was tight when the car park was full
2) Tv was limited to just six channels
3) There was no air conditioning in the room
A lift would also have been a help..

Tricky to find, and not a lot of parking.

Just outside of Lerici in an area called Cerri. It's up on a hillside with some pretty nice views from your balcony. Clean and comfortable with walkin access to the second floor. Small breakfast area and not a lot to choose from. We selected it based on price, parking and breakfast. We were there for two nights in late October 2013, primarily to do Cinque Terrre. La Spezia is 15 or 20 minutes away by car depending on the traffic.

Excellent hotel. Great size rooms and amazing breakfast. So much variety. Stayed here to go to Cinque Terre. Only 10km to La Spezia train station and you can buy tickets from hotel. It is over 1 km up a windy road from main road so best if you have a car. No restaurants in immediate area. Highly recommend

Lovely views of the Apuan Alps and a valley planted with olive trees and vineyards above the distant Mediterranean. Quiet but rather far from the sea and the town of Lerici along winding roads.

Great accommodation for those who look for low cost and good quality. I was impressed when I arrived at the hotel. Friendly staff and the room was bigger than I thought. Breakfast is not their best service but it is ok as it is offered free of charge and in overall, it is excellent. If you are not renting a car, I would suggest you to get information on how to get there, especially if you are arriving late in the evening and depending on public transportation.

Località in collina. Raggiungibile da una stretta strada a curve. Il neo più grosso è il parcheggio, devi avere fortuna a trovarlo (almeno di Sabato). Per il resto, silenzioso, pulito, stanza a tema mare molto bella. Personale disponibile e accogliente.
In pochi minuti di raggiunge Lerici. Davvero molto bello e caratteristico

Distanza dal posto dove sarei dovuto andare indicata in chilometri in linea d'aria... in realtà sono risultati molti di più e, inoltre, la strada per raggiungere l'albergo (nell'ultimo tratto di un paio di chilometri) è stretta, in salita e poco illuminata. Anche le indicazioni per raggiungere l'albergo sono poco visibili, specialmente di notte e con la pioggia, così come è capitato a me. Forse un'indicazione più chiara sul tragitto da percorrere potrebbe aiutare i clienti. Comunque per quanto riguarda l'albergo non ho nulla da eccepire. Tranquillo, pulito e con personale gentile e disponibile.

Esperienza in bilico tra negativa e abbastanza positiva, nulla da dire sul servizio colazioni, il personale davvero squisito e disponibile, così come x la pulizia camere. Lascia a desiderare il fatto di non aver un bar attivo e non trovare una reception presente. Alle 23.30 il personale non si trova, pur essendoci l' ingresso principale aperto, suonare il campanello del front desk non sortisce effetti. Da utente Gold mi aspetto piu attenzione da parte di Hotels.com .....

Très bon séjour, arrivé en fin de journée pour 2 jours afin de visiter les cinque terre, sur les conseils du jeune homme de l'accueil nous nous sommes rendu à Sarzana, joli village médiéval .
Très bon petit-déjeuner, mon fils s'est régalé avec les gaufres. Très jolie chambre décoré à l'air marin (amusant ,venue avec mon fils qui est dans la marine nationale ) .chambre suffisamment grande,propre et wifi nickel.

Convivial petit hôtel bien situé si vous y allez en voiture mais sans transport je déconseille.

Rapport qualité/prix au top.

Buffet du petit déjeuner sympathique, il y a ce qu'il faut.

Bon hôtel en général seul point négatif l'isolation, nous entendions tous les bruits dans le couloir (gens qui passent, valises, dialogues, enfants) un peu gênant le matin..

Situato in zona tranquilla, buona la colazione, ma per quanto mi riguarda noi eravamo nella camera situata all'ultimo piano sempre fredda. Era più caldo il corridoio che la camera. Il termosifone veniva accesso solo il tarda serata, e a Gennaio non basta. Problema anche per il WC che perdeva acqua sul pavimento.

L'albergo qui prend de la hauteur

Si vous êtes dans le coin, et que vous voulez passer un séjour agréable sans vous ruiner, voici un hébergement à retenir : l'auberge Serena.
Une chambre tout confort, un lieu tranquille, avec une belle vue surplombant des restanques d'oliviers et la gentillesse du personnel sans oublier un très bon petit déjeuner très varié.
Bref, avec son rapport qualité prix imbattable, quand nous repasserons dans le secteur, nous ne manquerons pas d'y retourner.

Che dire. Siamo rimasti molto colpiti dalla pulizia e dalla professionalità. Non è sicuramente gestito da dilettanti.camere carine e bagni pulitissimi. Colazione abbondante sul serio. Accoglienza molto gentile e professionale.

Ottima base tra i monti con sguardo sul mare

Albergo a pochi passi dal mare, immerso in un paesaggio collinare, dalla finestra si vede il mare tra le colline. Abbiamo notato subito lo stile self made che caratterizza l'albergo, molto curato nei dettagli, molto giovane come stile, ci ha dato quel senso di freschezza che di solito manca in questi posti, ci siamo sentiti a casa. Avremmo voluto prolungare, peccato che era tutto pieno. Torneremo di certo.

Camera carina, senza aria condizionata, ma sufficientemente fresca. Pulizia ottima. Buona anche la colazione. Vicino a Lerici, ma collocato su strada un pochino tortuosa.

Hôtel au calme pas très éloigné de la Spezia

Premier jour voyage en voiture , prise de possession de la chambre et promenade dans les alentours, découverte de Lerici
Deuxième jour voiture laissée au parking de la gare nous avons pris le train jusqu'à Monterosso d'où nous avons rejoint par le sentier côtier Vernazza , ensuite étape dans chaque village Corniglia et ses 374 marches , Manarola et Riomaggiore , retour sur la Spezia
Troisième jour Portofino et sa côte repas sur le port et retour vers la France vers 15h

Rustig wat afgelegen hotel

Hotel met alleen ontbijtmogelijkheden, nette kamers, recentelijk gerenoveerd, wel wat gehorig, Van de bedden voel je de veren, maar sliepen desondanks wel goed. Geen mogelijkheid voor lunch, diner of een drankje.
Ontbijt in weekend top, doordeweeks is het een slag minder, geen vleeswaren meer, geen luxe broodjes, geen meerdere kazen meer, alleen nog Brie.
Ruim voldoende eigen parkeergelegenheid. Vanuit de meeste kamers kan je nog net de zee zien.
Goede plek voor bezoek aan Cinque Terre, in directe omgeving van hotel geen vertier of restaurants, heb je echt vervoer nodig.

Un super endroit, une belle chambre avec vue superbe, du personnel attentionné et sympa.
Un buffet de petit déjeuner au top !
Aussi bien salé que sucré
2 petits parkings +1 grand à 200M
À proximité des 5 terres, de Lerici, des carrières de Carrara ; (mais voiture indispensable par contre)
Je recommande +++++++ cet endroit

Petit hôtel au calme en hauteur personnel accueillant à disposition très propre super petit déjeuner possibilités de déjeuner à toute heure le jour du départ nous se parti à 4 heures du matin nous le recommandons fortement à coter de lerici golfe dès poète formidable excellent sejours

L'hotel si trova relativamente vicino ad importanti località turistiche della Liguria e della Toscana, quindi in una pratica posizione centrale da cui partire per tante belle escursioni.

hôtel et personnel très acceuillants

Nous avons choisi cet hôtel pour visiter les Cinque Terre. Un petit séjour de 4 jours, dans cet hôtel qualité/prix très correct. Seulement à 20min de La Spezia. Nous avons apprécié être au calme; le personnel est très accueillant et en particulier la gentillesse d'un des femmes d'entretien. Les petits déjeunés sont très copieux et très variés. Dommage que nous n'avons pas eu très beau temps. Nous avons adoré les Cinque Terre. Magnifique! Malheureusement nous n'avons pas pu profiter du bateau longeant les côtes ne fonctionnant pas en hiver. Les italiens sont gentils et accueillants mais impatiens au volant, et les panneaux indicateurs pas toujours présents, difficile quand vous ne trouvez pas votre chemin. séjour court mais très agréable
