Shower was not working. And when I brought it up to the reception, there was no reaction at all - No apologies, no action to fix it. It is the bare minimum we expect of a hotel to have a working shower and for some reason it is not working, then to get it fixed.

A very disappointing visit in a very shabby hotel. Room was at the far end of a very shabby building and through untidy corridors. Water cooler with no cups and coffee machines without coffee or cups. The room was clean but shabby. Flush on toilet hanging off the wall. QR code for hotel information not working. Restaurant has a very limited menu and many flies around it. My husband was ill the day after we stayed here. Can’t believe it has a 4 star rating. Staff were good.

This hotel is very convenient to Fontainebleu. It's a straight shot and only about 10 miles away. It's also a nice little rural location with an adjacent farm with goats. There were horses nearby as well. The hotel staff was friendly and welcoming and the rooms were nice and clean.

It’s a very nice location. Breakfast was super nice and staff was friendly. I was a bit disapointed by the spa and the fitness. There was no more running machine as described in the picture. Ok one could also run in the forest but I did not have much time. As for the room it was nice and big. Still had nighmares though but i dont know if it’s cause Im sensitive or because there was actually something wrong.

Nice hotel a few km away from Fontainebleau. Good amenities for kids (pool, billiards, foosball). Helpful to have a car to get around. They have a set of Tesla charging stations.

Nicely located hotel with good outdoors space and swimming pool. We spent a nice family holiday in it. Overall very pleasant.

Some comments:

The rooms and carpets probably need an update soon.

Also some of the pictures are a bit misleading. Apparently, there is only one suite in the whole hotel, but several pics are taken at it. The actual rooms are smaller.

Disappointing experience

The sink was blocked after we checked in and unfortuantely no one was there to fix it. We were given access to the bathroom of another room around the corner. I asked for Gluten and Dairy free options due to my wifes allergies but no notes apparently made their way to them. Probably wont stay there again.

Pleasant helpful staff comfortable room and bed with fridge and tea-making facilities. Great heated outdoor pool with sunbeds and indoor Sundeck. Bar open until midnight. Very nice meal in restaurant.

Well located near motorway on route from South of France to UK. Big car park - funny old 60s/80s mash-up building. Small but comfortable, clean room. Very peaceful - slept with window open - no noise. Short drive from Fontainebleau - good selection of restaurants for evening meal. Played ping pong.

Worn out property with minimum service

I was in this hotel with my partner to visit the palace in Fontainebleau. The location seemed appropriate although only if you have a car and GPS as can be difficult to find. Furniture in the rooms was obsolete and worn. It felt like the hotel has not been refreshed for decades.
We took breakfast included and they have a policy of DIY, they advertise it as something fun or quaint in poster across the hotel but there nothing romantic about frying your own eggs in sticky micro frying pants or making your own orange juice in a regular juice squeezer.
To end with my critique to the place, they took more than a week to release the security deposit made on my credit card. They only did it after I contacted them by email which they didn't bother to reply which I think it is impolite and bad customer service.

Exactly what we needed, a comfy stopover on a trip through France. Not far from Fontainebleau which was fantastic to visit and close to the A6 Route de soleil. Staff were very helpful and spoke English very well.

Previously been. Not so good this time. Cheap price and good staff but niggles. Main one was restaurant which was very poor this time. Wife's salmon undercooked and no mash despite on menu. Daughter's Red Label chicken turned into a third of a breast overdone considerably . In room wifi was 200kb speed and loo door didn't close properly. Breakfast not able to be included in price and at nearly £45 for 3 was beyond our attempt to justify price. A bit sad as previously good stay.

We stayed two nights and found the sleeping conditions excellent. The fridge in the room was very helpful, my son had a free sauna, and we would have used the pool and other facilities had the weather been better.
The staff were very helpful. The location is very quiet, in the countryside, close to the forest of Fontainebleau.

Nice Hotel - no elevator

The hotel was nice and had an onsite restaurant. It also had an outdoor pool and was about 10 minutes from Fountainebleau. The room was a good size. We had 3 people in a room and the sofa bed was comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel has 2 floors but doesn't have an elevator. The staff helped carry some of our luggage up the stairs. The parking lot was very convenient. The town of Ury doesn't have any restaurants so if you want to eat outside of the hotel, you will need to drive about 10 minutes to Fountainebleau. The hotel is close to the freeway, which is convenient for traveling to Paris.

Don't park under the trees

This hotel is a modern type hotel that specialises in conferences and is base outside the town.
It is 8 kilometres from the palace but is ideal for keeping out of the tourist area.
If you do stay do not park under any of the trees as your car will be covered by sticky sap which is hard to remove, there are plenty of car park spaces around the hotel so drop your luggage off and enjoy the short walk rather then park under the trees.
If you go to see the palace there is an underground car park in town but make sure you take your car park ticket with you to get back into the carpark as you will need it to swipe the lock on the entry door.

Good location for Chateau visit

Reasonable, quiet, safe, medium sized hotel about 5 miles from the center of town. Only real down side is the smell of \"dog\" around the entrance and perimeter of the building, but I guess that is the downside to a hotel that allows dogs and has no marked exercise areas (i.e. dogs go where they will and owners don't care). Pool needs a little more attention, but usable. The bikes that are available would be better if they had air in the tires (three adult bikes, one had no air in the front tire, another broken spokes), so don't rely on them for transport. We stayed here for one night on the way to Paris. It is very close to Fontainbleau, which alone gives this place extra value. Everything was clean and new, though a bit boxy. Hotel bar and restaurant were adequate and clean, and the outdoor pool was heated to 30°C, which is about 86°F. Large screen TV. Plenty of free parking. Would use again at this location

Very nice for youngish families visiting Fontainbleau. Went in Euro school holidays so every seat around the pool was taken but otherwise the facilities were good.

Should have a car as it is a KM (short walk) out of Ury but Ury has limited facilities. Fontainbleau is a good 10 min drive away. Plenty of free parking.

Newly renovated! Great location and value!

Perfect for what we wanted. Close to Fontainbleau (5 minute drive). Very comfortable and clean and quiet. Beautiful, peaceful setting away from it all in the country right next to the forest!!! Close to the freeway, but not so close that you can hear it. Newly renovated. Restaurant & pool on site. Friendly staff. Amazing deal for the price!!

The smell of paint and construction was terrible. I had to keep my window open at all times. There was no mention of this when I made the reservation. Also, just like our visit to this hotel last year, there was a party on the Weekend. The doors were open and the loud music awoke me at 3:00 am and kept going for an hour. Ridiculous disregard for the hotel guests who have to get up early to attend local functions and competitions. Also, the wifi keeps bumping you off every 15 minutes or so. You have to go back and log on frequently.

Failure in communication!

We made this booking ten months ahead to ensure that we would get the one disabled access room described in the hotel's profile. When we arrived we we offered a first floor room and the receptionist said that our requirements had not been passed on in the on line booking made with Expedia. He was, however, very sympathetic and quickly changed this to a ground floor room. However, he told us that the hotel has no rooms with shower only, so we felt that we were misled. Our son could not access the bath. The room was spacious enough, but the third bed very small and really only suitable for a child.

Hotel needs to do much better job cleaning rooms and keeping A/C units functioning properly. Carpets need a thorough shampoo in each room and in all hallways. Breakfast buffets is uninspired, and the better items are grazed over very fast with no replenishing. Bed linens are cheap and probably 100% polyester. Mattresses are hard and uncomfortable. Would not stay there again. Price/value ratio is not really that good. Euro 110 for that hotel room (breakfast is additional Euro 15 per person, kids are free)

Great family hotel.

We stayed 2 nights here before returning to the UK following a 2 week holiday. It's in a good location, just over an hour from Charles De Gaulle airport. You can get a train into Paris with unlimited travel from 14 euro for the day so it's also a great place to stay if you want to head for the city.

The rooms are pretty standard for this type of hotel, with a good level of in room facilities. I'm writing this using the free wifi which was easily accessible with a good download speed. We had a room for a family of 4 which had 2 pop up beds leaving little extra floor space but it's all you need for the time you spend in the room. Very clean and comfortable.

Breakfast was a good mix of continental and english.

The pool was a good size and, while outdoor, was heated.

I would happily stay here again and recommend it to couples and families alike.

We stopped here for 2 nights while travelling to the south of France, perfect for families, lovely pool. Restaurant was ok, but nothing special. There was a fridge and kettle in the room which was great for me sorting out bottles. Just 10mibs drive to the town where we spent the whole day, very beautiful and worth finding time for.

This does not feel like a 4-star hotel; refurbishment is overdue (though this did appear to be taking place along one corridor). The carpet of the room was old and had a huge stain by the entrance of the room, the furniture was dated, but we believe they were already changing carpets on other rooms. Besides one waitress in the restaurant who wasn't very pleasant, all the staff was extremely friendly and competent.It is a great hotel and the surrounding is beautiful, in the middle of the overpowering forest .

Staff wasn't tremendously efficient--it took them around 10 minutes to figure out what room to give each person in line and couldn't give an estimate on how long it would take to drive to the airport with morning traffic. Room was clean. Bed wasn't very comfortable. Two big wolf spiders in the room--although from living in that area in the past, they are hard to avoid.

A really good find

After a twelve hour journey on a hot summer's day, it was a delight to arrive at this welcoming hotel. A friendly chat (in French and English) pointed us to our room and the swimming pool. A refreshing dip cooled us down and eased the aches of travel. Later, we relaxed over a very good a la carte meal in the restaurant, which had a choice of indoor and outdoor seating. Our room was comfortable, and had all the facilities we needed for our overnight stay, including well-functioning air conditioning. The only downside was that our neighbours had their television volume turned rather high!
The petit dejeuner in the bar area suited us well, though breakfast in the restaurant was also available.
We plan to return when next we need to break our journey in France.

Wonderful location near Paris

This is a well run Novotel, nothing to complain about. Its near Paris which is obviously THE big location plus. But having said that Paris is still a train ride or drive away so one has to consider other pluses. The rooms are bigger than the notoriously small rooms for the same price or more in Paris. Also you are next to a national park wonder, the vast Fontainebleau forest and only a few kilometres from the historic town of Fontainebleau itself. The hotel is on the outskirts of the sleepy but classy small village of Ury and a short drive away from an excellent ATAC supermarket. The location makes it ideal for corporate conferences and I use it for business trips.

On the way home

A useful stopping off point on the way back from the South of France - or on the way for that matter. A good modern Hotel with good facilities. We made use of the free cycles and the surrounding forest preserve which extends all the way to Fountainbleu. The gym and the swimming pool are good also. What was not so good is their restaurant - OK for breakfast if included in your package - but the meals otherwise are overpriced and just very very poor. New Chef required methinks. Nip into Fountainbleu for food - its only ten minutes down the road. The restaurant was not cleaned properly either - cobwebs on the light fixtures, a lot of flies (where is the fly killer in the cooking area ?) and generally not looked after well. A simple thing to remedy for the management.

Very family friendly environment

The Novotel at Ury is only a 5-10 minute drive from Fontainebleau. It is set out in the countryside on the edge of the forest, has excellent gym, swimming and children's facilities. Children were delighted to find Xbox in lobby and toys, plus slides and space to run around outside. Our standard room was very cramped but did hold the double bed and two twins and because the poolside area was pleasant, we spent what little free time we had there.

Service was good, the food was reasonable and we felt we got much more value for our money than equivalent family rooms in hotels closer to the centre of Fontainebleau. The pool and gym facilities were especially good - new, clean and quiet. Breakfast service was a bit confusing, although again the quality of food was good.

If you have a car and are staying in the Fontainebleau area, this is an excellent choice - very reasonable room rates, and the extra facilities plus free wifi were a definite draw. We are definitely thinking of returning to the area as it is very pretty and has great walks in the forest to discover, and would certainly stay at the Novotel again.

Very pleasant hotel.I will recommend it to anybody but we only paid half of their normal rate!
Difficult to find it,sat nav sent us to a wrong place.

Nice, relaxing hotel and groundsw

The rooms were nice and a variety of activities were available on the grounds - bicycle, badminton, table tennis in addition to the pool.

Hotel d'une qualité très médiocre, vieillot, n'est pas digne de la chaine NOVOTEL, et nécessite une rénovation complète de l'ensemble des chambres: chasse d'eau défectueuse, moquette sale, baignoire avec taches et éclats, crépis marron désuet...Extérieurs sympas, mais peu entretenus.
nous n'avons pas utilisé la piscine ni le spas car mauvais temps. Pour nous : mauvais rapport qualité/ prix
