Happy Dogs.

we stay here twice a year, once on our way down to South of France and then on our return. We take our dogs with us, there is a lake with a path leading around it, couple of laps and doggies happy. Swimming pool, son is happy. Parking, bar and restaurant Mum and Dad happy!! We try to get there early, have an early supper, food good, even with a fussy 11 year old. Breakfast also good, best to have either early pre 8 am or later 9.30 ish. Great hotel.

Good for a stop over

The service from staff was fantastic, efficient and friendly. Bed was comfortable and room clean with nice bathroom products.
Negatives: swimming pool opening times, I wish they would be advertised when booking. It was a reason we chose to stay there but the pool didn’t open until 10am and when you have to check out at 11.
The English TV channels didn’t work, yes we’re in France and that’s fine, but don’t advertise having any for them not to work.
The USB port didn’t work on the side of the bed either

Location next to the lake was really nice, we had a lake view room which looked over the pool and lake which was great. Clean and comfortable hotel. Looks a bit dated from the outside. It’s a couple of mile into Limoges centre and not much to see in the immediate area other than the lake and a kids play park.
I found the hotels restaurant a bit disappointing, menu was very limited on an evening and found it overpriced. The breakfast was pretty good although at 19.50 euros per head I’m not sure it was good value for money. I have to say we thought the housekeeping staff were wonderful, always said hello and checked we had everything we needed!

The hotel was very comfortable, clean and in good condition. However, the restaurant is another matter - breakfast items ran out very quickly and were not replaced as soon as they should have been One morning they ran out of baguettes - in France???? Evening meals were very limited, four starters, four mains, four puddings, the same menu for two months Service was unbelievably slow, it took us 1.5hrs to get a main course. Very nice swimming pool and area and near to lake, very pleasant.

The hotel is clean and there being some modernisation to the bar/ restaurant area.

This was a great property for a four-person family. The room was perfect for our purposes, the area and hotel was quiet, and the breakfasts were great. The kids loved the pool, and there are great kids' parks around. There are also a wide variety of restaurants within short driving distance.

Good overnight stop on the way to Dordogne. Efficient reception, excellent parking. Ideal for travel with a dog: ground floor room, woodland and lake.
Breakfast was cleared away with military zeal at 9.25 which seemed remarkably early for an hotel catering to people on vacation.

Staff very polite and helpful. Cooling system an absolute joke during scorching temperature. In the main area barely noticeable, in the room very low! Food average, breakfast not worth it for the money paid. By 8:45 was very little left and food not stocked up. Hotel very well located close to the motorways and with wonderful surroundings. Worth it regardless and with room for improvements ( no pun intended ).

Decent Hotel but Unhelpful Staff & Awful Breakfast

Hotel is fine. Check in was smooth and welcoming, but there the helpfulness ended. Bar staff took sullenness to a new level, surpassed only by the team at Breakfast. Couldn't run a bath that lot. Shambolic, rude and wilfully obstructive to the most simple of tasks. Breakfast itself was a farce with no food available at 9am on a Saturday despite it being open until 10am.

Perfect overnight stay for a family

We stayed here to break our journey to our holiday destination. The staff at reception were welcoming and helpful (for example, they were happy to freeze our cool blocks from our cool box). The room was clean and we had a view of the lake. The swimming pool was an enormous bonus. Our children are young and there is a brilliant playground less than 5 minutes from the hotel.

The property was very modern, clean and tidy. It is perfect for a short stay. The bar and restaurant served limited, but high quality fresh food. We stayed with our 2 children and must admit we didn’t really feel welcome as a family. The staff were not the most friendly and seemed very indifferent to us. Think this may be more of a business style hotel rather than for families. That said, the hotel was modern, clean and the price was good.

Perfect stop over.

This hotel was the perfect stop over of our way to the South of France. The pool was great for the kids, the breakfast and dinner was excellent and reasonably well priced, the room was very comfortable and clean plus there is free car parking on site. The staff are well versed in English if you are unable to speak French.

Room was nice, clean and the bed was extremely comfortable.
Unfortunately the hotel was let down by the staff in the restaurant/bar. We went down for dinner and were shown to our table by a surly waiter. We then sat there for 15 minutes and despite making eye contact, and trying to get numerous staff members attention we still hadn't had even a drinks order taken. We gave up and went somewhere else.
The following morning we went down to breakfast at 9am, and went to the hot counter for bacon only to find it empty. Upon asking for some more we were curtly informed that there was no more, despite breakfast running till 11am.
Also, don't pay extra for a lake view room as the lake has been drained and looks terrible, but they will still charge a premium for this it would seem!

My parents non smoking room stank of smoke.

There was nothing vegetarian on the menu so I told the surly older waiter he told me I could have a plate of vegetables. What I actually got was over cooked green beans, over cooked pasta and about five leaves!

The younger staff members were polite.

I told reception about our issues and she did take our meals off the bill ... I was left starving however!

Breakfast was okay but there were several empty containers that hadn't been replenished.

I cannot recommend this hotel and certainly won't be back!

My mother ordered hake tempura but when her plate arrived there was no fish! I told the waiter and in his own self righteous, dismissive way he said it's coming ... about 5 minutes later two tiny goujons arrived!

We have stayed at this hotel on three occasions now and find it an ideal point to break the journey from Zeebrugge to the South of France, staff have always been very pleasant and helpful and it is to the usual good standard you would expect from a Novotel. Added benefit is that it is next to a small lake that allows you to take a pleasant stroll and stretch your legs after a long journey.

Excellent hotel and staff. Made an overnight stay very enjoyable. Only complaint is that there is a claim of a mini bar, it is stocked with the a single bottle of mineral water and 2 milk portions for coffee, so don't expect a midnight snack!

Local amenities are scarce. A E'Leclerc is right next door which is very handy if you need to quickly refuel your car.

We deliberately chose Limoges as it was half way down to a trip to Barcelona. This hotel is very nice, good swimming pool and if you want, there is a lake where you can walk off your dinner. Kids love the pool. The food though, was ok and not excellent. Drinks are a little on the expensive side, when you consider we were paying a lot less the further south you go.

All in all... a good pit stop.

Restaurant staff and buildings were very pleasant. Breakfast was good although a little pricey for 2 people for a week. My only complaint is that the in-room tea/coffee facilities were not topped up everyday. However, the room was kept beautifully clean as were all of the facilities.

Stopover at Limoges from Bezier to Calais

Fab hotel just right to relax in after a long drive.
The pool kept the kids happy after being trapped in the car. The lake is wonderful to walk around.
The hotel itself is lovely and Sophie on the reception desk was great trying to find me another Novatel for the following night stop over on my way back to Calais.

The whole experience was wonderful and I would definitely stop here again.

What can I say...?

I had a bad nights sleep. Both duvet and pillow looked worryingly inexpensive and my body heat just steadily increased lying completely still. It was terrible. Coupled with perhaps not setting the air conditioning properly (I regret not turning it off and opening the window.. which you can)I got up looking and feeling terrible. Room service good. Great burger.
Easy to park and find. I wont stay there again for a while at least.

Halfway holiday stopover

Good old reliable Novotel. A stones throw from the motorway, Clean rooms, comfy beds, not much more you could ask for really as far as the room is concerned. The lake is more like a large pond but makes a pleasant enough circuit for a evening's stroll. I would really not bother with eating in if you can, dinner menu is very limited, small portions and ridiculously over priced, wine list is totally uninspiring and eye wateringly expensive. Take yourself off into town and eat out or there is a Leclerc's just up the road for re fueling the car and the coolbox.

We loved the location but too cold to use the pool (not heated) we were a bit dissapointed with the cooked breakfast, as it was cold in both occasions. We also had 5 people in 2 rooms but not enough towels were supplied on arrival. the sofa beds were ok for small children. Very clean and not many complementary items such as toothbrushes for instance. Children were only given complementary toys the second time, they forgot to give them those the first time ...

The hotel is situated between a hyper-market and a very pleasant landscaped lake on the edge of town. You wouldn't want to walk anywhere from the hotel, but it's great for a stop-over. The staff were all friendly and helpful, with the facilities being Novotel's usual functional comfort. The outdoor pool was welcome after a long drive, as was the air conditioned room. Unfortunately the restaurant was over-priced, and stopping there twice in a week stretched the menu options, especially for vegetarians (but it is France, after all). The number of flies in the restaurant was disturbing, and something the management might address.

The staff was very pleasant and the food and service service providers were wonderful! We moved from the superior room to the standard room, which was the same size, with the same about of beds because all superior rooms face the parking lot and all standard rooms face the pool and lake. Seemed odd to do it that way, but the front desk was more than happy to make the change. The town was a disappointment...more industrial than we thought. It was easy to find and parking was free. Everything was very clean and wifi in the rooms was not a problem at all....good reception, which hasn't been our experience everywhere we've stayed. I would recommend the hotel, but not the town.

a bit hard to find, but lovely once we arrived. very friendly staff, rooms were quite nice, especially for the price. Clean, comfortable, and nice firm mattresses! Large supermarket very close by.

Nice hotel at a comfort location

Staff was helpfull. Location is good - a small mall 5 minutes away.The hotel is located on a lake - a nice view.

Very much a business hotel

Modern clean hotel with mainly business customers. Food good but slow service in restaurant. Breakfast expensive. Bed comfortable for one but too close to wall to allow sleeper on that side to get up in the night easily. Have met this in another Novotel, too.
