A bus load of locals arrived on our only day at the hotel and the hotel common areas were taken over by them with a disco, in the dining room and all around the pool. As it was raining, we managed to find a little communal shelter and had nowhere else we were able to go while they were there for at least 5 hours. I complained to the manager who said they're also guests. Yes - but you should make your overnight guests aware that the day spent with you will be overrun by day visitors. It's like having construction going on - we would have booked somewhere else.

The hotel's location is relatively ideal, but the facilities are outdated. The air conditioner has no cooling or dehumidifying effect at all, the bathroom floor drain is clogged, and the swimming pool water is visibly murky.

I have stayed at many star-rated hotels around the world, and among hotels in the same price range, this one offers the worst experience. Most staff members have a poor attitude—some even wear unfriendly expressions—and are unwilling to assist you. When checking in, the staff who help with luggage only pick the easiest ones to carry. After checking out, I booked a taxi with the front desk, but no one informed me when the taxi arrived; the driver waited at the car door for an unknown amount of time. The bellboy saw us about to leave, left his post in advance, and showed no intention of helping.

The hotel is in a great location on the beach. The food is pretty good. Our room (one of the cheapest options) was a bit scruffy and not the best design (smelt a bit musty, hardly any leg room if you sit on the toilet!) but overall fine. Lots of food options nearby. Entertainment could be loud in the evening. Pool & beach areas are nice.

For us not bad at all…food was great and some of the bar staff was very nice but some of them think they own the place and that is not good!!!!
Very busy next door on the park but that is what it is.
Our first time in blue bay and it was a choice?
Most of the staff in the dining area was great specially the young man from India…very friendly and helpful well done Phianso !!!!
Anastasia was very rud and have a lot to learn about customer service? Though in our opinion a good girl with a lot to offer.

The property was a good 3 star hotel. Not fancy at all. We only stayed for one night. There was a lively bar across the street (The Spot). There was also live cultural entertainment at the hotel, which was awesome. The rooms are low average, but the location is conveniently located close to the airport (expect the occasional plane noise from close above). The breakfast is average, with the saving grace being the fresh omeletts.

This property has so much potential given it's location, though failed to deliver - With consideration to only being 3*, with their rates maybe expectation is greater what's on offer. In brief we only stayed one week of a two week booking, the staff on check out didn't even consider asking if everything was ok with our stay, making us feel that this is the norm.

The only thing that stands out is credit to the attentive catering staff and poolside entertainment that was enjoyable and not over the top.

Bad points starting from check in, we were just directed to our room, a little tour of the facility given all inclusive would of been more welcoming. Our room(10) was basic and tired to say the least, the smell of drain/damp was awful, something we thought we could bear and didn't want to make a fuss.

What followed was average food, accompanied by vermin i.e. Pigeon's on the tables and rats throughout in broad daylight. I would question the cleanliness of the pool water for algae to be growing, the plant room looked un operational. All inclusive isn't inclusive to all the drinks on offer, only local spirit and i wouldn't consider the other brands premium

A complaint at the time wasn't necessary, we knew nothing could change during our stay and a refund wasn't an option, therefore we chose to move so we had a memorable holiday, though costing us twice for our second week

Prior to my arrival I reached out to the property concerning transportation to the resort as well as options to celebrate a birthday. No response. Upon arrival I was greeted appropriately with a meal due to the late arrival. During the stay I sustained a hairline fracture to my right foot. I did not inconvenience any of the staff or patrons however during a nightly event I was inappropriately addressed and directed to move from my location while watching the event for over an hour as I was told the spot was reserved. I requested to speak with manager but nothing. While small these types of things matter to sustain one’s reputation. I left feeling discriminated against. I plan to return to the country however not this location. Shame as its gem spot

It's lovely here, nice food, nice people, but we won't come again as the parking is not only crowded , but also the two free availabilities are apparently for the hotel owner. It doesn't matter if you have a baby, you have to park somewhere else. I noticed another car just parking, I was told it's someone of boos or boss friend? As a hotel owner I would offer my spot to a customer and I would park somewhere else! Or ask an employee to park it! Initially I booked only 3 nights then another 4, now I regret it!

Great beach resort with pool! Confusing because some guests are all inclusive and others like me were just breakfast included and gad to purchase buffet at lunch or dinner (set times)- so when they offered afternoon snacks (crepes) to all it appeared it was for all. I took one small crepe and staff asked to bill me $350 rupees! Also arrived tired and exhausted from travelling and was looking forward to early sleep! But no- loud music permeated the resort between 9;30 and 11:30…… so not possible to sleep!

All inclusive included buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food was nice and a selection of local drinks. It also included water sports in the marine park and use of most hotel facilities. We paid extra for some spa treatments.
This hotel is advertised as 5 star and maybe when it was first built it may have been, however it is in need of some maintenance. Our room had the phone cable sticking out the wall and the shower screen door was not the original, meaning the bathroom got soaked. There were also no complimentary toiletries. I would class this as 3 star at best.

You're welcomed with a drink. They even offered a room service for our first night made of a bottle of sparkling wine (we don't drink alcohol) and a fruits platter.

The all inclusive package was the best choice we could have made. Extensive culinary options, the chefs went above and beyond to represent the different cultures on the island. Drinks selection was a bit limited for non alcohol people but the few available were great (the \"mambo\" is a must try).

When it comes to amenities, the pool was clean and welcoming but it pales when compared to the Indian ocean just few feet away. The access to the ocean is free and the hotel offer snorkeling and kayaking equipment for free. For even greater experiences, scuba diving is available for $100ish each.

The room is daily cleaned and the staff was happy to help. Overall beautiful experience for a first time on the island. I would go back.

Glad we only stayed for 1 night after we arrived. On arrival there was no parking available, had to wait till someone leaves.
We got very dark, tired room. Bathroom smelled like someone did pee in the shower. Shower drain had lots of hairs. Second bedroom had no door and 2 tiny windows close to the ceiling, basically like in prison. At night they have VERY LOUD entertainment and it was impossible to rest after our flight till 11 pm. I definitely don’t recommend this place for families with children.
Staff was friendly enough but slow. Took 20 mins to return the towel as they did it at the bar area, was one guy changing towels and serving drinks. Same with breakfast queues to get omelet.
The only positive is a hotel Blue Bay location.

I must say that I was pleasantly surprised with my stay at Le Peninsula after reading some of the comments that were very negative. Persons cannot expect to have lobster and caviar with a low budget . This hotel is not on the fancy end but you pay for what you get and that worked out just fine for me. The staff made up for this anyway…they were very polite and tended to your every needs. I would like to say a special Eivan at the bar who remembered all our names every day.

Our getaway March 2020 to Le Peninsula Resort

Our stay, with half board, 7 - 14 March 2020, room 67, 1st floor, overlooked the sea on one side, & swimming pool the other. Nice hotel, with plenty of choice from the buffets. We chose Le Peninsula for peace & quiet, so just HATED their nightly after dinner 'entertainment' - FAR too LOUD! No rest or sleep was possible until it was over for the night (2 hours?)! Wednesday's 'entertainment' during dinner was disgusting! - Some woman wailing songs, out of tune, with the amplifier turned up full. It was EXTREMELY irritating whilst trying to enjoy your meal and have a conversation with your spouse!! I remarked to a server to \"tell the woman to shut up, as she was far too loud\". Four songs later, she DID shut up, but our evening meal had already been ruined. If Le Peninsula paid for her services, they wasted their money! A gentle strumming of tunes from someone playing a guitar, or a varied CD collection of popular songs, played at low levels would have been enjoyable. Le Peninsula - WHY IS THE ACCESS GATE LEADING TO THE BEACH PATH NAILED SHUT? Either climb over, or take an unnecessarily long walk around on the sea side - dangerous across rocks at high tide, or walk down the road. The weather - extremely humid (96% most days, 100% on one day!!!), but swimming in Blue Bay Marine Park was DIVINE, rain or shine!! Don't waste money paying for a boat ride to go snorkeling, as lovely corals & bright fish can be seen while snorkeling off the beach right outside the hotel.

It was a business trip and I chose the hotel for the beach proximity which is the best thing.

The room i had had ants and other creatures especiallly mosquitoes around, the room was old but basic. It was fairly clean as you can expect for a 3*. The wifi was poor in the room I had, i had to move and it was still very patchy- meaning sitting around reception.

I took all inclusive although the food was not of great quality or choice, I only had breakfast once which was good, the dinner options were not so many.

There are a few feww watersports activity, although I got screwed up by the staff. I was told the glass bottom ride was 30 mins, (once a day!) At 11am, so i booked and turned up at 10,55 as i was told. I had to leave for the airport at 11:45 so had ample time. At 11:05 i asked the guy where the voat is, he said its on its way?! Anyway i asked him how long it would be as I had to keave, he said minimum 1 hour but could do it in 30 mins for me- despite there being 3 ladies waiting. when the boat finally turned up it was 11:20 so I said forget it and walked back to the hotel and left foe the airport.

I would say it wasnt worth the price I had paid and I was better off staying at the holiday inn which was significantly cheaper and had acceas to the blue bay beach.

Old, badly maintained, didn't look like the pictures, expensive room for its old and broken state. Staff doesn't understand service.. Check in at 14 and by 16 not possible to get beach towels, bad cocktails, dirty pool, broken beach furniture. Not a single staff seems to care for guests comfort or satisfaction. Ac was broken all the bed was wet they took them 2 hrs to fix that.. we were on our hoony monn and it was terrible. In the sea there is not enogh beds. The reception prople are very not nice

We were exhausted and desperately needed sleep. Unfortunately we had the major noise problem as our hotel room was located directly beneath the hotel entertainment and we didn’t get much sleep due to the noise.

I tried to resolve this with the duty manager for almost an hour. However he did not ensure that the entertainer turn down the music. Instead they allowed the music to be turned it up. Neither could we be moved to a room further away. We were therefore unrested and I woke up with a headache.

We also saw birds flying into the eating area and eating guest’s breakfast, a cat in the restaurant at dinner time and we smelled a lot of cigarette smoke coming through into the rooms. This also disturbed us and made us uncomfortable. A number of other guests have already complained about these things.

The website says “relaxed”. We came to the hotel for peace, relaxation and solitude, it is fair to partially refund us. Please be aware, there is no warning on the website saying that there would be loud music until 11pm.

I have been in contact with both the General Manager and Hotels.com regarding this. So far the General Manager, Ansley Nellacootee, has not resolved anything in 6 days. He said he was waiting for a full report from his staff. There are lots of security cameras and lots of guest feedback on these issues. Clearly this happens regularly and they are not willing to change. We are still waiting for the refund as discussed with them.

Poorest Experience of Mauritius.

This hotels wants to cater for the mass market. Very unkept. Superior room booked but full of leaks in the ceiling. Corridors dirty and flooded. Very dangerous slip hazard. Food was poor quality. Not prepared to cater for special dietary requests. It was a matter of choosing from what was there.
Reception service very poor and disinterested.
Very loud night “entertainment” all night. Could not sleep due the noise. Seemed like a holiday on the “costa del” ....
Overall a very poor reflection of a very beautiful Island. Hope this isn’t the way Mauritius tourism is going to be headed.
Steer away if you want quality and service.

Bad service, bad food,very little variety to choose from restaurant was bad pigeon flying in side restaurant eating quests food It’s unhygienic and unhealthy, it is a family run hotel and staff don’t care. I would never stay there again and even if they payed me I would never stay there. It’s a 2 star hotel and not 4 as they portray. It is also close to the Airport and it is an extension to the Airport. Many flights go over the hotel and the noise is annoying. Staff are poorly trained and can hardly communicate with the guests....they are arrogant.no services on the beach , you would have to go and get your refreshments yourself from the bar , this is not a place to have a holiday it’s a nightmare

The hotel is close to the airport and right on the beach. Very friendly staff and relax environment. They need more shade around the pool and on the beach. The lounge chairs on the beach were not very comfortable. They should replace them with the same chairs that they have around the pool.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I booked it on the basis it looked good in the photos and was close to the airport for an early flight the next day. BEWARE do not be taken in by the flattering photos, the hotel is like an old prison cell block that has been badly refurbished. We were in room 45 which was right on the end of the hotel next to the public beach. Our entire stay was blighted by noise from every direction all night. The toilet in the room was actually in the bedroom and only separated from the bed by a small louvered door. The food was mediocre at best and we could not wait for the morning to come so we could leave.

Location great. Free watersports great (use of kayaks, paddleboards, snorkelling equipment and free boat trip). But hotel not what we expected...f9r the high price! We paid for a deluxe suite with ocean view. On arrival, this didn't look like that and in fact, the room was overlooking the pool, not the ocean or beach. We could almist just glimpse the ocean so no doubt the stafd would have argued it was the right room and we had already been told they wwre at full capacity so a change would not have been possible. Clean though but some real design flaws in that bathroom and bedroom were open plan with NO privacy! Stupid swing door for loo that wouldn't shut and allowed us to hear everything going on in the loo! How embarassing for each other! Also, nowhere obvious to hang towels or put toothbrushes. That's not all. Wifi was utterly woeful. Could barely get it at aĺl most of time. Totally infuriating. Worse was the supposed air con unit in our room which blew out warm air. Not great when it's 28C at night! Really madr sleeping very unpleasant and honestly, air con should be a basic necessity in a hotel like this. Food was good but dining area packed like sardines, giving an almost Butlins feel to the place. At night, sitting either ij tje bar or on our balcony for a bit of peace, there was no chance of that at all thanks to the noisy \"entertainment\" which involved the same diabolical music every night alongside some cheesy quizzes. Only a handful of people seemed to enjoy this!

The rooms are pretty run down, the WiFi is horrible, and you'll need earplugs because the hotel is located directly at the end of the runway (departures from MRU roar right over the hotel). I would not stay here again.

Nice hotel with loads included in all inclusive

We loved staying at the hotel, a lot of people were complaining about the food, we thought it was alright, there wasn't that much choice, and there isn't many vegetarian options, but we thought it was alright. We were impressed with the amount of stuff included in all inclusive, like kayaks and pedal boats, which was a nice surprise, also every single cocktail, shots, beer, everything that you can think of. The only thing I would say is, there were ants in our room, and it was maybe a little bit annoying, but I'm sure the staff tried their best to get rid of them. Overall nothing to complain about really, we had a good time.
They also aren't selling any excursions at all, we had to ask about it a few times to get somewhere, but I suppose that is their loss.

Quite a terrible hotel, basic cleaning conditions and bad service. There were pigeons at the eating tables, with their poi everywhere and nobody caring about it. You an stay there if you have to travel and need a one night stay, and they haven’t open another hotel next the hotel yet. The area has nothing to offer

Not much to do in the area. Hotel is near the airport so early mornings you get woken by planes flying over you. Service was slow. If you looking for a transit hotel it is ok. The beach is beautiful though

This hotel is a lovely hotel, having read some of the reviews by others, you cant odds the fact its built next to a park, where they play music.

Reality is, thats their culture and aa a family go to the beach in the park and all get together and enjoy FAMILY time. Yeah the play their drum and sing. But to be fair, it was actually nice to see and here. Made us think we dont do anything like it. Where as we go to organised events and have to pay.

The Rooms:
We had deluxe room, beatiful view of the bay and kept clean daily. Fresh towels and sheets daily too. Cant faullt it one bit.

The Staff:
All polite very helpful nothing was any bother. The waiters and waitresses were helpful, chef's were helpful too.

Food:
Always something to choose and very nice too.One day there wss fish every dish for dinner. Not being a great fish eater, a waiter saw our look on our faces and approached snd requested a steak and chips for us. Very nice too. None of which was any bother.

Entertainment:
We were there during the Chinese New Year. An amazing show. Other nights had Mauritian Dancing. Again a good evening. The owner of the hotel spoke in french and english well, even if in the quiz night didnt quite ask the question he wanted the answer for, he accepted when it was commented on.

Additional Entertainment
All id say is they were very french based & orientated, they did offer other entertainment but little was said in English in comparison.

Trips:
Loads to do. Hire a car is good too

Good resort great ocean access

Hotel is typical package deal hotel. A little old but great access to the beach and ocean for activities. Awesome snorkelling available and good pool.

Service wasn’t that great and had a waiter give me quite a bit of attitude cause they wanted to interact with me on an App and I didn’t want them to. But generally a good resort. Had an awesome massage and pedicure at the spa

Photos dazzle but experience disappoints

I would recommend the hotel for its location but it does not warrant a 4-Star status in my opinion. The state of the facilities such as water sports and non-working WiFi bring down the standard and affect one’s overall Impression. I find it strange that after hours there is no one from housekeeping available to provide a bath plug that was missing from my room.
We enjoyed dinner but we’re disappointed that 2 or 3 of the hot food items on the buffet were no longer available (had run out) only an hour into the dining sitting.
The staff were very friendly.

You were only able to get Wi-Fi in the reception. Very noisy. Lots of screaming kids in the swimming pool and parties in the park behind.
The beach area was nice.
