Being low season it was very quiet, there were some lovely walks, the beach was raked daily, the people were very pleasant and it was easy to get around by taxi. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were great and when the restaurant was open it was very good. We heartily recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay in our very spacious two bed/two bath! We didn’t have a view of the ocean but it was a short walk around the building in front to the coastline. The area is pretty busy, several dining options available.

The hotel is an older style, but exceptionally clean and the beds were so comfortable. We were in D block by the road and yes there is some road noise but this gets less late eve. Still had best sleep in a long time. Saw many staff throughout our stay checking and cleaning all areas, all seemed happy in their work and were friendly.
Pool area had plenty of beds and umbrellas and beach is 2 min walk. Thanks for a lovely break.

Property is at an excellent location 🙂 The beach is really good. We had an excellent time this summer. The property also has multiple swimming pools both outdoor and indoor. Indoor ones are warm and also has a Jacuzzi. Hotel staff was also very helpful. We truly enjoyed our 4 nights stay at Jardim de Vau.

Cons:

I had booked this property through Expedia but one small concern from my end was that our room didn't have washing machine. Rest all room seem to have it. Otherwise, everything was good 👍

Hotel is in an ideal location. It is quiet but there are several nice bar/restaurants within 2mins walk. Beautiful pool which is spotless clean. Pool bar is excellent with reasonable prices.The whole property is very clean, inside and out. Gorgeous beach is a few steps away with 3 bar/restaurants on or overlooking beach. About a 20 mins lovely walk along the prom with stunning views, into centre of very lively portimao.

We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment which was very nice and quiet. Some room service every day was nice but not necessary. It was a bit strange that we were told that we had to buy our own dish soap to wash our dishes. Now we have a large amount left over. Otherwise it was very lovely. Beautiful pool.

Amazing for a family, immaculate outside pool, great inside pool, everything well taken care of, and friendly staff always eager to help.
just 1 step from the beach, with a cat colony outside the gate eager to be pet'd - could not ask for better place.
will definitely return.

Only thing that needs urgent uplift and improvement is the wi-fi - it is impossible to work from this location with the wi-fi provided.

Easy access to the seafront. Lovely walks around. Very comfortable beds. Every single person working there was very polite and helpful. We love swimming and indoor pool was fantastic, apart of opening times 9-7, . And also when we booked, it was including steam and sauna, but you have to pay for it and pre-book it now:-{ so not very happy about that.

Great hotel, great location

This hotel has everything you need, well equipped large apartments, great pool with lots of sun loungers, right next door to long sandy beach and even a mini supermarket. The area is quiet (no bad thing), and you can walk to Praia da Rocha and Alvor. We had a airport pick up later in the day and were offered storage of our luggage and a courtesy room and towels free of charge.

Wonderful holiday

It was a great clean hotel right near the beach with a fully equipped kitchen. The bedroom was spacious and quiet.There was a nice balcony off the lounge and dining area. There is a restaurant and shop where you can get groceries on site Laundry was quite expensive for a small bag of clothes. I would definitely stay there again great value for money.

We loved the location, that it was close to the beautiful beach and coastline. The room was spacious and comfortable. The facilities were in good condition.
We didn't like that you need to bring or buy a swim cap for 4 euros at the pool.

Spacious room, clean, very good kitchen facilities, heating worked very well (was a little bit cold during our stay), on site shop was small and expensive but had pretty much most of what you need for a self catering holiday (bread, milk, eggs, snacks, cereal, cheeses, 5lt bottles of water etc.), if you don't mind a 30 min walk there is an Aldi and Lidl you could go to get things for cheaper. There is also a restaurant on site but we didn't eat in there so cannot comment on it.

The water was too cold to go in the outdoor pool but it was very big so during summer this would be an advantage, the indoor pool again is quite big and there is also a jacuzzi which is nice but you have to wear a swimming cap while in the water. Gym consisted of 2 treadmills, 2 spin cycles, one multi machine which wasn't very good and no free weights, but being on holiday this was no issue at all.

The beach is very nice and is only 2 minutes walk from the room, if you are going out late, after 19:00 I think, the gates at the back of the hotel that get direct access will be locked so you will have to walk round to get to the beach, but this is still less than 5 minutes.

There is also quite a few English and American channels on the TVs, as well as French and German.

Wonderful stay at an excellent facility

The spouse and I enjoyed I nice autumn vacation in October/November at Jardin do Vau. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a two bedroom apartment, likely because they were renovating a block of one bedroom units during the quiet season. The two bedroom unit was excellent, with two full bathrooms a large sitting room, a dining room, kitchen and a patio that was about 15 feet by 25 feet. The kitchen was fully equipped with stove/oven, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and a washing machine for clothes.

The location of Jardin do Vau IS outstanding as it is about 100 feet from the Vau beach. There's no need to drive to the beach, and it's quite handy to pop back in to your apartment to get a beer, have a snack, or just to grab some item that you may have forgotten.

I would not have liked to stay at that location without having rented a car. It is possible to walk to the strip of restaurants that line Praia de Rocha, but it's a dark, lonely walk home after dinner. However, with a car, there are numerous restaurants and shops within a 5 minute drive.

For a future trip to the Algarve, I would definitely return to Jardin do Vau.

We liked location, close to a beautiful beach, walking to shops and restaurants. Room with kitchen was spacious, nice deck to sit out on and flowers planted on the deck was a nice touch. Housekeepers friendly, front desk helpful, quiet and beds comfortable. I would recommend to our family and friends.

Perfect Spot! Needs updating

This hotel ia a gem in a beautiful location! However, we visited about 16 years ago and apartments are not much different than they were then. Staff were helpful during check in and check out and when we had questions/concerns. Sorely in need of a refresh...but would go back

Not a 4 star apartment.

Upon checkin we found the reception to be rather uninterested and not terribly helpful. Housekeeping left a lot to be desired as both bathrooms had left over soaps in the holders, from previous guests. Although the apartment had kitchen facilities, reception informed us to buy our own detergent for our dishes from a supermarket - we would have considered this a basic provision. On the plus side the bar and restaurant staff were great and the outside area, although we didn't use it, looked lovely.
We did not bring children, but would recommend families to request a lower level apartment. The single beds were underneath a fully openable window. We were also unimpressed with the lack of security lighting outside the apartments.
I would not be selecting this apartment again.

Excellent value for the money

Okay, at Jardin do Vau what you get is a basic one bedroom apartment that is steps away (50 meters) from a fabulous beach. The apartments are large enough to be comfortable and have a serviceable kitchen. My stay was during November, so I didn't make use of air conditioning, but it was available. The neighbourhood is quiet at night, which I appreciate, but a 1 km walk takes you to a street with bars and pubs (if you are a walker, you can easily go out without worrying about drunk driving).

The apartment complex has parking for free, indoor and outdoor pools, and a bar/restaurant, all of which I used.

While there are laundry facilities on site which you can use for 5€ per load, it would have been nice to have a washing machine in the apartment.

Overall, it's a great location and represents excellent value for money.

What a gorgeous Beach

This was just a one night stay but the bed was very comfortable. They had some kind of metal blind to cover the bedroom window and keep out street noise but I did not need it. Even though we did not buy the restaurant breakfast their coffee Americano and Galao was fantastic and totalled 3 euro . I would definitely stay there again .
