Checking in was quick and fast.
The hotel was going through a face-lift at the time of my stay (Painting of the exterior).
The room that was allocated to me had an extremely strong paint smell, aircon was noisy, aircon switch was hanging off the wall and the bedside lamp had a nasty stain.
I queried this with the front desk and I was moved to another room on a different floor (after 45 minutes). The gentleman who assisted me ensured that rest of my stay was a pleasant one.

It was adequate and not terrible. No ice machine or bucket, (had to go to the bar for ice), and no fridge. The elevator has a strange system that does not allow you to go to any floor but the one your room is on. I was there with a relative who stayed on a different floor. Therefore the only way to get to him was to walk down the hall and use the stairs. Could not even take the elevator from his floor back to mine. Had to go to the lobby first then use my key to get to my floor. Also the rooms do not have wash cloths, only hand towels. We booked Kingsize rooms but was told when we got there, there are no kingsize standard rooms, only deluxe. They said the problem was with Expedia who falsely advertised. The rate was inexpensive but I’ve decided when I go back to Johannesburg, I’d rather try another hotel and pay a little more for better quality.

Unhygienic and unclean rooms

We stayed at the hotel for one night and it was a disappointing stay. The towels were dirty and had marks on it so had to use our own beach towels. The pillows were also unclean as was the bathroom, felt unhygienic.

I requested new pillow cases for the night from reception (in person) and they never came. Would not stay again and would not recommend considering the price.

Location is great! Gym is under CONSTRACTION and has only two (2) machines. The room is getting old and the curtains with a carpet are getting stained. If you pay $50-60 dollars it is fine, but no more than that. Easy walk 15-20 minutes from Sandton train station. A driver Isic available to take anyone. I went to Nelson Mandela house for 20€ one way. Spars Supermarket is around the corner! Breakfast was so so. Croissants were suggy from the last night. Breakfast is 3 out of 10. All staff/personal was nice (Oriel, John, Jones).

The male staff in the dining area are the worst; unprofessional and they do not understand customer service. Who hired them and why? The property also charges guests for parking and their advertised gym was closed. I'm never coming back to this hotel. Mildred the cook, however, was excellent; thanks Mildred.

Theft of $ 600

My $ 600 were stolen from my room during my stay for 1 week in Park Inn Sandton, Joburg in October 2019. I left for a business meeting in the morning and on my return, found that $ 600 is stolen from my bag. The hotel did the lock analysis & concluded that housekeeping has been coming for cleaning though the hotel never allowed me to meet that housekeeping member stating that it's against their hotel policy and neither I was allowed to see the video footage. Hotel management suggested conducting a polygraph test on housekeeping which was done confidentially by them along with the internally hired agency by the hotel. The result declared that the housekeeping staff is not guilty. The report seems fabricated so as the hotel can safeguard their interests & maintain the brand image of the hotel. To my surprise, I was informed that earlier also plenty of theft cases/breakage of safe as well as parked cars are stolen from Park Inn. The hotel seems to turn a blind eye to such incidents & its very hurting for the guests who are paying a decent amount to the hotel hoping that their belongings will be very safe in the hotel. I met GM of Hotel (Herman Brits), Housekeeping Manager (Tanya) & relationship manager (Siyaanda), they paid their condolence on this incident but the truth remains money is stolen from my room in the hotel. I would have appreciated if the hotel would have acted reimbursing this amount considering the fact that money is stolen from my room only.

A truly awful experience. First night was fire alarm non-stop from about 1am through to 10am when we had to leave for meetings. This was the final straw which made us notice all the stuff we'd generally gloss over, such as bad breakfast service, dirty rooms (we had 3 rooms, all had numerous cleanliness / service issues), non-working airconditioning and generally lacklustre experience. I stood in this hotel a year ago swearing to never return, and not sure why I did. Literally we got no sleep on the first night.

I dont often take pics or call Head Office to complain, but this trip made me do all the above. As one can see on Hotels.com we book in excess of 500 nights a year, so we have context when we have complaints.

Pathetically bad check in and stay experience

Worst experience ever. We had booking for 2 nights 2 rooms for 2 individuals and while we entered the hotel, reception guy Sulamani asked us that there are no rooms available. After us showing the prepaid booking voucher from hotels.com and insisting on room he gave us one room after waiting half hour at 2.30am which was not ready and left over room. Used bedsheets and cups were only available. He was not sure of the refund policy and asked us to wait till the morning on the same. Never experienced such pathetically bad service in my entire life. Hotels.com was not reachable at this time saying 8am to 12am!!!
It's not even a 1 star treatment from a hotel chain of Radisson!

Expect complete refund of prepaid booking and 2 rooms for tomorrow.

Last stay room service was out of 75% on menu, a few time before someone had urinated in the kettle and this was not sorted before I occupied room. Sunday night I had to wait 2 hours for a room....I spend 5 to 8 nights here a month.........and this is not the way to retain clients. I was told the hotel was over booked.............one needs to pay in advance and when you can not make it, it is a fight to get a refund..........this is seriously flawed...............

It took more than an hour to get checked in. Literally! Staff were friendly but too slow a service.
Hotel room was old, rundown carpet that hadn't been vacuumed. Even the teaspoons were both used. It was obvious that they had not been washed. Lucky I was too exhausted to complain.

Bad room, poor housekeeping & restaurant service

Room: barn/manure smell would hit you in the face when opening the shower door. It would go away after a few minutes of running water. The sink would take several minutes to drain because of clogging. The air conditioner would not work but would make a lot of noise to the point where I would have to use ear plugs to sleep. A bug was in the room that I squashed with my shoe (half the size of a cockroach). The ironing board that I requested had the welding from the legs broken meaning it could not stay up. The iron would leak water as if a hole had been drilled in the bottom. The iron was stained black underneath and ended up staining my white dress shirt. After requesting an ironing board from the front desk, I had to call an hour later and housekeeping woman appeared to be watching a movie on her mobile phone while delivering the items to me which makes me wonder if that's why she didn't deliver it when the initial call was placed. The two technicians, Sam and Adolph, were very helpful and friendly in setting up the conference room. The lady who checked me in was also friendly and helpful. The same lady had to come over when I was trying to check out because the male employee didn't seem to know that he was working in a hotel and couldn't do the job. It took the waiter in the restaurant about 45 minutes to bring us our Bill's after asking 3 times and there were only a handful of people in the restaurant. The food was not good either.

Don't reserve a business room - no view

Reserved a business room but discovered that they all face a very close office building and so have no view and little sunlight. The standard rooms are the same size as business but face the other way and so have a great view of Sandton City from the higher floors. However, floor seven has terrible wifi which disappears for long periods. A large Spar five minutes away for essential supplies.

Some food was good but sausages had gone bad and undercooked
They had canvas ridicoulous for a curtain no lace curtains for privacy
Took 5 people to get requests or I needed a face towel which I believed to be standard
Went to reception to ask they promised to get me one never happened
Informed 4 house maids at different times they promised but again never brought
Only when I phoned the manager did I get the towel

Asked for and was promised a packed breakfast as I was leaving early Again I was promised but when I went to get at time promised I was informed the chef had not been in but anyone can make a sandwich
No attempt was made to provide the minimum ie. a couple of slices of bread butter and marmalade from the kitchen
Am sure chef does not work alone

Hi - there was only one towel instead of 2 in bathroom; there was no teaspoon for making tea/coffee; there was only enough milk for one cup of coffee each; there was no creamer; the one bulb on lampshade fused; the blind not closing neatly; there was an extra charge for parking which is NOT in advert. Other than these, we were in room for very short time and did enjoy economical and green environment - would go back if need. Thanx

Hotel and rooms are very nice. Would definitely come back. However, s couple if things. Buffet breakfast very limited, around 09:30 we came down and not much left. Bread was finished. Sausages were over cooked.
Room service was closed, no answer for atleast an hour, reception also unavailable for atleast 25 minutes. Finally walked down to find out, they closed due to spraying.
Room booked for a couple, only one big shower towel. Asked the ladies on the floor around 9am, till I checked out at 12 still waiting. We shared a towel.
If you dont know, how will you change. Just general feedback.

This was my forth stay at the Park Inn Sandton and without a doubt my FINAL/LAST stay. Every single time I stay at this hotel I find myself regretting my decision. My first stay: Torn Bedding. Second Stay: Aircon didnt work and also not in the room they moved me to. Third stay: Bathroom was still dirty. This was all just over a year ago, so I decided to give them another try. I booked 7 rooms for myself and my colleagues. I have spent SO much money at this place with previous bookings as well.

Checkin was SLOW. I got to my room and the room was allocated as a \"day-room\". The bed was slept in and dirty towels were still on the floor. I was then moved into a bigger room - the actual room wasn't bad. BUT, the hotel is DIRTY. People are sleeping on the couches in the breakfast area. The carpets are DIRTY. Service/Management is non-existent. BUT to top it all off - in the evenings the bar is FULL of \"ladies of the night\". They are dressed in nothing more than stripper heels and a skirt that should be banned from a \"4 star\" hotel. These ladies sit there and \"wait for work\". Where is the hotel management???? Why is nothing being done about this?

The City Lodge down the road is 5 stars compared to this dump of a place. Please don't expect any corporate booking from either myself or my company ever again.

I normally wait 2 days before I complain because I think sometimes it could just be me, so I wait to calm down.Firstly no one answers the phone there. They told me it was because they only had 1 line. You have to pay for parking. Never heard of that before. The water pressure was almost non existent and would not get warm. There was no fridge either. For the price you would expect breakfast to be included ( which was way below average anyway.) The WiFi is the slowest ( dial up modem slow) that it's a waste of time even trying. When I did complain, the manager said he wanted to see me. After waiting half an hour I just gave up on waiting for him. Even if they offered me a free stay I would not accept it. Trust me do not stay here. I left and went and stayed at Capital One Hotel what a difference

Great hotel but it could be even better. Attention to detail and arrival experience / welcome experience not memorable. A bit sloppy at reception as this is the second time I have booked the property only to be allocated the wrong room type to the one I would have booked. No personal letter to inform guests of the noise related to on-going works in the pool area although there is a notice at reception.

Perfect for a short stay

Great hotel for us. Staff all very friendly if a little slow some times! Room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was excellent, bar was well stocked and we were well looked after. The hotel is a business hotel rather than leisure but I'd be very happy to stay there again
