Even with late-night arrival, staff was very accommodating. Breakfast, included in price, was perfect to begin our day of continued travel by car.
We forgot a small expensive item in our room, but did not realize until hundreds of miles away on our journey; the friendly receptionist confirmed that the item was found and we are awaiting instructions on how to make payment for arrangement to send/return the item to us.

This hotel is fine for a short stopover if flying through BSL. It’s quite basic, but does the job. I would have given higher ratings but for 1 thing. The hotel info says they operate a shuttle bus to/from the airport. And so they do …. but there’s a catch! In fact said bus only operates from 4am to 6:30am!! So, if/when you land at BSL anytime after 6:30am, don’t waste your time standing by the pick up stand. You have no choice but to get a taxi or Uber. Nothing on my reservation, or Emails from the hotel explained this. My wife and I waited for quite some time at the pick up stand before I called the hotel and a very nice young lady explained that we must get a taxi. The very limited timespan for shuttle service is something that really should be made clear on the details. The cost of the taxi + tip was ~€20. This is a bit steep considering how close the hotel is to the airport, but it’s not a deal breaker. My main irritation was waiting around at the airport for a shuttle that was never coming. Otherwise, this is a reasonable if basic airport hotel.

First of all, the staff are absolutely amazing and hospitable. Its an airport hotel but quite a distance from the airport. The hotel provide free shuttle service to airport, not from airport. Has parking.

We used an uber from airport to hotel, about 7 min away as there were no taxis on French side of airport around midnight- we were charged 48CHF- total rip off (not a review of the hotel but something to keep in mind).

Breakfast is ok, selection of breads, croissants, meat, cereals, jams, fruits, boiled eggs, juices, coffee machine. Hardly any hot food.

Room was a let down for the price we paid. Shower cubicle does not have any raised area to stop water from going on to the floor, the whole bathroom floor was wet after showering. No hair dryer, no kettle in room. 1 handwash and 1 shower gel/wash. 2 hangers out of which 1 was broken. AC and soundproofing were good. EUR 3.80 for a bottle of water! No water or glasses provided in room.

Ok for a night but not good value for money.

On the www it said that the Hotel offers free Airport Shuttlebus, which is not available. We choose this hotel over all the others because of the Airport Shuttlebus. At the end, we had to ask for a private taxi.

Was late night check in and early check out so was only there a few hours but convenient location 5 mins from motorway and airport. The staff are really helpful. The room is basic but absolutely perfect for a quick stopover. I even slept with the window open and it was so quiet to say how close to the airport it is.
Because if covid there is no shuttle bus but not a problem for the staff here, if they can drop you off and collect you they will! First class service

Excellent overnight stay, whilst travelling from Amsterdam to Cyprus. Courtesy car drove us from and to the airport which is only 10 mins away. Basic hotel, but had everything we needed for our stay: Very friendly/helpful staff, restaurant on site (with choice of a la carte or set menu), decent/clean rooms and free WiFi. Would definitely stay again.

Super Convenient to Basel Airport

Easily found in Blotzheim. Very reasonable rate (through Expedia). Much enjoyed dinner; called back by staff as we nearly forgot dessert while saying good-bye to friends. Wake-up call at 4:00 AM and shuttle to Airport at 5:00 AM were no problem. Multi-lingual and friendly staff.

Ok hotel for a couple of nights.

I have stayed there for 1 night before my early morning flight from Basel.
The room was simple, but clean and adequate. The hollway was very dark and reminded me of some military barracks. I think that it would look better with some nice lightning and with some change of the wall colours and flooring. That blue color looked a bit severe and depressing.

The airport shuttle was great and the restaurant was decent. This hotel is about 3 KM from the French part of the Euro Airport, but 26 KM from the Swiss side of the airport, as then you have to go all over town and thru a real border. Both airports share the same building, which is about 300 meters long. If you going to this hotel and renting a car, it would be easier to rent it on the French side. The driving out of the Swiss side to this hotel was very confussing and we wasted a lot of time as the GPS in our rented Hertz car kept sending us around the loop at the airport. Something was set wrong, or they just changed some road near the airport and the GPS did not have the new map programmed. The Swiss and the French at this airport do not seem to care for each other and have a very little info (of pretend that they do) about the tourist services at the oposite sides of the border. It was a good learning experience.

We had to call the hotel and we did not have a phone. The airport staff refused to help call the hotel. In the end someone kindly called for us. you get what you paid for. Besides problem in commute which has to relied on hotel shuttle , no other public transport nearby, WiFi is another problem ie after sometime after connection, you need to get connected again, pretty annoying.
This hotel may be for someone who is on budget or in transitional one night stay awaiting for airflight. Definitely not for vacation.

Stayed for one night and found the staff very helpful. They ferried us between Basel Airport on a number of occasions so that we could arrange a car hire and do some sight seeing in Basel City. This we feel was above and beyond their normal service but it really helped use make our holiday a success. The Hotel itself was top notch with a great breakfast. Would recommend the Captain to anyone.

Convenient for stop over if visiting Basel

Spent 2 nights as a start to a driving holiday through Switzerland. First night used to crash from the drive from the UK, had a nice meal in the hotel on arrival. The following day used the free hotel transfer to the airport, caught the No 50 bus to the main Basel train station (20 mins, about 5 stops) cost 3.8 CHF. From the main station it is only a 10 minute walk into the historic Altstadt, where there are plenty of sights to fill a day. Only tricky bit was to move from the French side of the airport to the Swiss side before catching the bus. You can do this by staying on level 3 (depatures) and walk from one end to the other and then go to level 1 on the Swiss side.(The hotel will drop you off at departures on the French side and pick you up from arrivals, just phone the hotel when you are ready to be picked up.) We drove into Switzerland the following day and at the Swiss border as you enter Basel you are met by the border officials, just pull over into a lane where a nice uniformed lady will apply a 40CHF sticker to your windscreen to allow use of the Swiss motorways, there are no tolls.

All in all the hotel served its purpose, the continental breakfast was good and the staff very helpful and spoke good English.

This was a one night stay before cruise leaving from Basel. It was much cheaper than staying in Switzerland and very close to airport. There is a grocery store and Chinese buffet walking distance from the hotel. Can't see this being a destination but it was very close to the airport and they had a shuttle.

Very satisfied. The one problem I had was that nobody answered the phone when I called form the airport. The driver of the bus also runs the front office. While the drive from the hotel to the airport is really short (maybe 3 min), there is nobody at the front desk when he is out---at least not at night. If you have the same trouble, it might help to just wait a few minutes and call again. If you are in a hurry, be prepared to be turned down by a taxi driver---not sure if that is legal, though.

PROS: The shuttle service couldn't be better - they start at 4am if needed! The staff go out of their way to welcome and help. The breakfast is great and plentiful. CONS: The location requires a car if you are not here for the airport. I walked around town. This is a small, older French town that has some interesting half-timber structures but that was about all that I found. There are a couple of museums in other towns - but a car would be best for that.

A fairly average hotel but it is conveniently situated near to Basle Airport. Difficult to find car park space as it appeared much fuller than there were guests staying. Dinner was okay but we were disappointed to find (later) they had charged us for breakfasts when we hadn't had any and this was not mentioned when we settled the bill.

it is impossible to get out of the hotel

1. the night we arrived we SPECIFICALLY asked the driver of the shuttle whether it will be possible to get back with the shuttle first thing it the morning. the answer was \"sure no problem\".
the morning came - no shuttle - it was fully booked (booking? no one mentioned booking required) and taxi? \"no sir - all taxis in the area are bookes as well.
so - we started our trip late and another lady that was in the hotel missed her morning meetings (we met outside and heard her story too).

2. we both woke up the morning with bad backaches. (very bad beds)

Fine for one night if you are leaving early for the airport - they do have a shuttle which is unusual for hotels in the area. The rooms are quite small and the bathroom even smaller - my room has a disgustingly dirty wall with mold. As with most hotels in France you won't find any English language stations on the TV. Food was o.k. but to charge for the breakfast seems a bit out of line considering the rooms. Free wi-fi which is nice. Low on the atmosphere scale but parking is free.

Keeping down the cost on visiting Basel

I travel regularly and internationally for work, and stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. The room, and importantly the bathroom too, was clean and tidy and quiet and had all that I needed. The wifi internet access worked. The free shuttle bus to the airport was great - just 5 minutes from the airport - and it allowed me to connect with the bus into Basel, taking 35 minutes from the door of the hotel to the central railway station in Basel without a panic. I spent a morning wandering around Basel and then went by train in the afternoon to Mulhouse and went to see the French National Automobile Museum (amazing!). In my opinion this hotel is good value for money, and significantly cheaper than staying in a hotel in Basel.

Interhotel Captain - close to EuroAirport

The hotel was conveniently situated close to the EuroAirport and the free transport service offered by the hotel to and from the airport made travelling into Basel for the day very straightforward. The food at the hotel was fantastic, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. The rates were also very affordable. We would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again and would certainly recommend it to others.

It seems that reservation I made via Expedia didn't arrived to the hotel with full details. There was a little misunderstanding regarding type of room and the price. But at the end everything solved.
The bath in the room is big advantage.
If you travel by car, It takes ~13 min to get to Basel, where you can park the and walk.

Better than we thought it would be

We wanted a hotel in Basel but all were fully booked so we chose The Captain hotel instead and were very pleasantly surprised. The rooms are not large but for 2 nights were adequate. The air-conditioning worked very well. Breakfast was a good buffet selection of cold meats and cheese with cereals and bread. We ate in their restuarant both nights and enjoyed the food. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we used their free airportshuttle to and from Basel airport as a means of getting ourselves to Basel itself (number 50 bus from the airport).

When we arrived, the hotel elevator was not working. The people working at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. They quickly carried all our luggage up the stairs to the room. The hotel was very conveniently located by the Basel-Mulhouse airport and the free shuttle was very helpful. The food in the restaurant was reasonably priced and quite good. Overall, the hotel was very convenient for an overnight stay for an early morning flight and was reasonably priced, but in need of some major remodeling. The people were very nice and very helpful..

Great value for accomodation near Basel

Great place to stay overnight if you need to fly out of EuroAirport. The lowest rate excludes breakfast, but for a hotel just outside of Basel it is convincing even if decide to pay a few euros extra for a buffet with a nice selection.

Your stay at the hotel includes free parking at the hotel and shuttle van transfer to and from the airport. This is especially convenient if you fly out of Basel and return at a later date, as parking at the airport can be costly.

€20 in a cab from the airport no information on the shuttlebus anywhere.
Looks like an old Formule 1 hotel that Ibis haven't renovated at all.
Very very basic room, but priced more as a mid-range hotel so not great value for money.
Bar closed. Restaurant closed. This wasn't late at night.
Ended up with a delivery pizza in the room.
Wouldn't use this hotel again.

Déjeuner excellent , pratique , 1 épicerie Leclerc et 3 resto proches, 6 minutes de l’aéroport , air climatisé dans notre période caniculaire bien apprécié
