Clean room, great facilities. Excellent value for money and in a great location to explore the surrounding areas. Staff are friendly. We would stay again 100% The only downside was needing a kettle but not a deal-breaker. They do have a coffee maker but no coffee pods

This place is defined due a refurb. The furniture is dated, the carpet stained and the rooms are not soundproofed at all so it is very noisy at night from people in other rooms. Cheap and convenient parking and friendly, helpful staff stopped this from being a total write off.

Only thing to improve was towels. Had 1 large one ( they consider it large but not really very big) and one small one each for a 3 night stay so didn’t use the pool! Room not cleaned - fair enough but change of towels or at least one extra for swimming pool would have been nice.

Also a coffee machine provided but no pods to use - no tea bag’s or anything like that.

Did get offered a twin room but had a horrible smell so stayed with double bed.

Easy to access tram links into Basel. Much more cost effective and personable than staying in the city. Try Wok 68 and the bistro too if you are staying.

Rooms are squalid. The beds were very low standard, low profile, and hard. The apartment was not the same as shown in the pictures. No ventilation and exhaust fan in the kitchen and washroom. Very bad smell in the entire apartment because of poor ventilation. Never book again.

really good value for money accommodation, for the price & proximity to Basel city centre it was the best I could find.

From arriving the staff were all very friendly & professional.

The room was clean with all electrical appliances working.

The only downside was a little noise from the traffic outside, with the room facing the road.

We didn’t use the breakfast facilities or the pool, this was our own choice.

If visiting Basel again we would definitely consider staying at the hotel.

I absolutely loved my stay here. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. It's in a great location, you are able to get to the city center of Basel in just ten minutes by bus 604 or tram 11 just from across the border.
The room is a lovely size with everything you need. The bed was so comfortable and it is in a generally quiet area.
I was able to pay for a later check out which was great, and was able to leave my suitcase with the staff until I was ready to head for the airport, which gives me a couple hours to explore before I have to leave, which I'm sad about.
Without a doubt I will visit again very soon. Highly recommended for an amazing price.

The hotel is fine, the apartments are a bit dated. Our room was quite dusty and there was a bit of a smell on our floor in general, but probably because of other apartments cooking.

Staff were lovely in all interactions and the location of the hotel is perfect for getting into Basel central and the airport.

However, I was searching on Expedia for a hotel in Basel, Switzerland, so listing a property in a different country (France), no matter how close to Basel, should have been clearly indicated. I chose this hotel because it seemed like good value for money and only realized it was in France when preparing my maps for the trip weeks later. As a result, I had to pay additional fees for the car rental permit to cross the border, so the value was not as good as it first appeared. This is not the hotel’s fault but rather an issue with the Expedia system. I am still giving the hotel a good review, but I want to warn future travelers about this potential problem.

Fantastic Stay – Spacious, Comfortable, and Great Location

I absolutely loved my stay at Aparthotel Adagio Access Saint Louis Bâle! The room was surprisingly spacious and very comfortable for three people — we never felt cramped at all. The beds (including the sofa bed) were cozy, and we all slept really well throughout our stay.

One of the highlights was the fully equipped kitchen. It had everything we needed to cook simple meals, which was both convenient and budget-friendly. The entire room, including the bathroom, was very clean and well-maintained — it felt fresh and welcoming from the moment we arrived.

The location is excellent. The tram station is just a short walk away, making it super easy to reach Basel and explore the area. There are also shops, bakeries, and restaurants nearby, which made everything even more convenient.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in was quick, and they provided us with all the info we needed for the local transport system. The hotel is in a peaceful neighborhood, so we enjoyed a quiet and relaxing atmosphere at night.

Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which was important for us. Overall, this place really felt like a home away from home. It's perfect for families, couples, or small groups looking for comfort, space, and good value near the Swiss border. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others!

Small but satisfactory in St-Louis

The room was very basic, but clean enough. We had to wash the cups and glasses before we used them as they felt grimey, but no big deal. The quilt on the bed was far too thick for the time of year, but we just stripped it straight off and slept with the window open and the fan on. The pool is small but perfect for a late-afternoon refresher! Caution though - there are male and female changing areas, but the signage is tiny and everyone just used the male area (on the left as you enter). Not a big deal for us, but if you have kids...

Another word of caution: we booked this as a more economic option rather than Basel itself, but stays in Basel feature the 'Basel card' which gets you 50% off a variety of tourist attractions - depending on your plans, that could be a big saving and is worth factoring in to your budget.

Staff were very welcoming and friendly, were always available if you needed help with anything. The hotel was about a 2 min walk from the closest train station which for us was perfect to go into the centre of Basel, and it was only about a 12/15 minute journey!!

The hotel did state there was an outside pool but was only able to find the inside. Whether this is a seasonal thing for the outside I’m not sure or it could’ve been stated elsewhere why it wasn’t open, so could be my fault for not looking and reading properly🙈

Room was dirty, carpet was covered in dirt/nails/mess. Bathroom was small. Hotel doesn’t offer cleaning unless there for 7+ days. Get what you pay for. Only saving grace is how close it is to trams

Apartment was clean. Kitchen are was small. We only used the fridge. Location good for the tram ti Basel. Approx 3 minute walk and a 15 minute tram ride.

Staff were friendly and helpful. There is no air-conditioning so beware in the summer. We did have 2 x fans though so we slept ok.

Pool also a relief in the got weather.

Beds were very comfortable.

This is a budget hotel, so you must bare that in mind.

I would happily stay there again.

The property is a little tired. There were signs saying that the levels of PFAS chemicals in the tap water were above permitted levels and that it wasn’t recommended for drinking for certain groups. You could use the dispenser in the foyer which was fitted with a filter, however this was a little inconvenient. Be aware there is no air conditioning in the rooms and the room was very hot while we were there (June).
The area does however feel quite safe and the hotel is a short walk to the number 11 tram stop that takes you directly into the centre of Basel.
For us, the lack of air conditioning (should have paid more attention when booking) meant that we wouldn’t stay here again.

There is no air conditioning available. We stayed for one night and it was extremely hot. Overall, the room was dusty. We didn’t feel safe walking around outside the area. The fans provided were small and dusty. Not good stay if u have small children. Better to save your money.

Manage your expectations. The property is old and needs a full update. The bathrooms are quite outdated and cramped. The couch/sofa bed is not comfortable for sitting nor sleeping. That being said, the employees at the property are awesome. They do the absolute best with what they have to work with. The breakfast is a bit pricey for what it offers. There are places nearby to get food. Haley was outstanding. He worked the desk and was very accommodating to me and other travelers. Excellent employee. All the employees I interacted with were great.

We love our stay at the hotel within the French border (travel with friends and family). t is few minutes walk to the tram stop that enable us to discover different parts of Switzerland. We love that there's a kitchen that we can cook food (with cutleries,plates,pots and pan) to help us save money (prices of food and everything are so high). The room is large for the party of 4. The shower is nice (with bath),enough space for storage. The bed is comfortable enough. The kids love the swimming pool (the highlight of the stay) and the vending machine (when you have little kids,you will understand the joy it gives).Thank you so much for an excellent stay and will surely recommend to our friends that wanted to explore Switzerland and France).

I booked this hotel because they offered parking. Despite writing and trying to book, they never answered me. When I arrived, they told me that they had no more space and that I had to park on the street. The blue spaces are only available for a limited time. They offered to give me a pass so I wouldn't have to pay, but can you imagine having to put in a new pass every two hours? Ridiculous. There is no private parking in the area. After driving around for more than half an hour, I found a place to leave it. The area is quite ugly, not unsafe but not pretty and there are no restaurant options in the area. It is less than 100 meters from the border. The rooms are basic, the beds uncomfortable and small.

We stayed for 3 nights in December, the breakfast was good and never busy, staff checking us in wet friendly and polite and spoke multiple languages.
The areas itself is ok, it's near a tram stop into the centre of Basel and within close enough proximity to local amenities such as the Co-op to stock up on some essentials for cooking.

The apartment was a good size with hob, microwave and fridge / freezer included which was handy. A bit disappointed with the pool area, it could use a refresh to make it look less clinical also the pool temperature was freezing so couldn't use it which was a shame. Think it was heated to 28oc during our stay however 34 would have been comfortable to relax.

Also the WIFI was down for the entire time we were there which was a shame.

Nice enough, but wouldn't rush back.

Beautiful bakery across the road, and small shop for essentials. Less than 5 minutes to the tram stop which takes you into the centre of Basel in roughly 15 minutes. Bed was slightly hard but the hotel is perfect for a weekend break and very clean. Lovely shower too!

A good place to stay with easy access to Basel city and friendly staff but the bathroom in our apartment was not cleaned to good standards and it wasn’t made clear that housekeeping was only done once a week and bins have to be emptied ourselves. Breakfast was very basic for €12pp per day, going to the local boulangerie is better. There isn’t much to do in the area but wold recommend for anyone visiting Basel as it’s only a 10 min tram ride to the city centre.

Conveniently located within walking distance to Basel's tram 11. Quiet spacious room equipped with fridges, microwaves and stove tops (also cutleries and cookwares), which mean you could really save a lot of money by cooking your own food. Moreover, the price for the rooms are half of that in Switzerland side. Front desk speaks fluent English and is very helpful in giving advices about where to find affordable, good value for money food. They also offer free carbonated water, lemonade and coffee on the ground floor. Finally they have in-site laundry and swimming pool, although I didn't really need it knowing I have these options available is nice.

Wonderful stay. The property is 20m inside the French border, it’s a surreal experiment just to walk between the countries.
The tram to Basel (or 25min walk along the river) is about 100m away, and Weil Am Rhine in Germany is a easy 25 min walk.

The staff are lovely, property is clean and well maintained.

The apartment is spacious with functional kitchen. The sofa bed is quite comfortable.
Fans provided for those warm summer days. Indoor pool and laundry is a added bonus.

Booked the larger room and it was very spacious. Nice to have the kitchen facilities also.
The room looked a litter tired compared to others rooms we had during pre-covid visits. The room had a slight smell, think it was due to the lack of use. But other than that we had a plenent stay. Staff, as always, are friendly, helpful and polite. We will be back.

1. 7 days and have only 2 small toilet paper rolls
2. The bed was too soft and make back pain
3. The temperature was too hot, we did not sleep well as we had to keep the windows opened all the time
4. The room was spacious, and good brightness
5. The location is perfect at just 50m walking distance to the border and the bus stop just in front of the hotel

I suggest the hotel service to improve their interaction with their customers in-house, for example just make some calls (first at the arrival and eventually after few days), to get to know : “how is your stay with us?”, it will help.

Great location, easy to take public transport. Free transport from the aeroport to the hotel. They gave us a bag with treats because we check in december 24th. Free tea in the lobby. The only down side is the smoking smell. We left the window open while we were out and it helped with the bad smell. Overall great cheap hotel to visit Basel.

Typical mud price apart hotel. It was clean and staff were friendly but as we were in it for about 11 hours before flying home we hardly used any facilities

It is at walking distance from where I work. It offers a god breakfast. On the cons side, each room has a ventilation system centrally controlled. It can’t be switched off if you wished. Who has a light sleep, like me, that is a bit annoying. Additionally rooms are not cleaned daily if you stay few days (less than 7, if I well recall). This service, like extra towels , has a price.
