Room was spacious and clean. Front desk crew so helpful as our luggage was delayed and arrived next day. Hotel delivered to our door and allowed a delayed checkout so we could get a shower and change of clothes in before departing! Also the adjoining restaurant was wonderful. We had just finished up a river cruise and, since we had never been to Basel, we decided to spend a few days there. I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews and Hotel Restaurant Resslirytti seemed like a great choice. Boy, do I love it when I'm right. The gentleman working the front desk ( Unfortunately I lost his name ) was beyond helpful. Before we even went to our room, he spread out a map and circled points of interest, tram and bus stops and good local restaurants. The room itself was very clean, modern and well supplied with everything you might need. The location is great too. You walk across the street and take the #2 tram that goes over the bridge right into historical Basel. Going back is just as easy. A transit pass is provided for each guest that's good for the length of your stay, although no one ever asked to see it. If you miss one tram, don't worry, another one will show up in a few minutes! The Italian restaurant, not affiliated with the hotel, is very good. I highly recommend the pizza. They use a brick oven that's wood fired. You can enter the restaurant just before the hotel lobby. I would absolutely stay at the Hotel Restaurant Resslirytti if we ever visit Basel again!

This is a small property with about 45 rooms. The room was clean a comfortable.
Luca, the young manager, was very nice and and had absolutely the most delicious croissants in the morning! And the cappuccino was phenomenal! Overall a wonderful experience.
Also, the restaurant on site was warm and welcoming! The have a wonderful stone pizza oven and the pissa's we had were wonderful.

A panicky arrival night
I called up the day before the of my arrival date for a late night check in and the guy who answered me promised to send the door code because the hotel Reception will be closed by then, but he didn’t. So when I arrived the hotel the door was already locked so I end up knocking the door but nobody answered. I was about to panic but my colleague who was also booked at the same hotel looked for the telephone no of the hotel and called up. Luckily there was one staff left at the restaurant who answered the call and opened the door for us. Otherwise we’ll end up on the street in a very cold evening just because the receptionist forgot to email me the door code.
The rest of the stay ended well although the bed of a single occupancy room is too small that when you moved to change position you might end up on the floor.

The hotel was good. You got a free Basel Card with public transport and 50% off museums on check in. Location was on a tram and bus stop and just a 5-10 minute walk from the centre and museums over the bridge. The breakfast was simple but good (coffee machine, juice, cereal, bread, meat, etc). Bed was ok, but no aircon so a bit warm. The bathroom was modern with shower. TV had lots of international stations.

Fabulous hotel in a quiet area of Basel. We arrived late and our room card and info was waiting for us by the elevator as arranged. Lovely, helpful staff, great location (30 second walk from the nearest tram stop), spacious, clean room with street view and an ample choice at breakfast. The hotel really has it all. Really comfy room, really comfy bed & great staff. It has a restaurant attached (pizza place), tram and bus connections just across the road (that were not noisy & I had a room facing out onto the main road). Only a 10 minute walk to all the main attractions in Basel centre & old town.
The No 2 tram is your friend if you prefer, it's a short ride into town & less than 15 min to directly outside the main SBB train station. If going from the euroairport, catch the No 50 bus - directly outside the terminal, to the main SBB train station, then from the station is tram No 2 on platform line F.

The lady at the front desk was very helpful and friendly with our check in. The hotel has basic things, but it is very comfortable. When the coffee area is closed at night, the lady at the front desk even lended me their own kettle to boil water for my tea.

Little gem - a short walk to the Altstadt
This little boutique hotel has it all - great value for money, perfect location and friendly efficient service. We stayed three nights and enjoyed the spacious room with super comfy bedding and great breakfast. The in-house restaurant/pizzeria serves amazingly good food at reasonable prices; the service was great too. This hotel is especially ideal if you’re arriving by train, as the no.2 tram from the station is free and stops right outside the hotel. From here it’s a 10 min walk across the Rhine river to the heart of the old city.

Excellent location near the banking district, luxury watch boutiques, Basel Art Museum, and the Basel Congress Center. The room was clean, well-appointed and comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel as it appears to be among the very best in Basel in terms of sheer value for money. The restaurant downstairs also had very solid Italian/Swiss traditional cuisine. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. An unexpected plus was the free Basel public transport card!

We stayed three nights at the start of our 8 day adventure thru Switzerland and France. The hotel was very nice. The breakfast was very good, compared to other places we stayed. It was worth the upgrade to include it. It was a full breakfast and well done. Location was good except for a bit of road construction in the area. Once we figured our way around it we were fine. No air conditioning and it was warm. Fan provided some relief, but that was our only negative.

Small, inexpensive and clean
This is a small hotel with a very small reception area. There is a modest but free breakfast. The shower was quite nice and room quite clean but I was on the fourth floor and I had an incredibly small room. The arches of the roof forced me to stay low in some parts of the room. I couldn't get the AC going so I had to try and open the window to cool the room down but it was still hot. The pillow was way to thin and soft.

Nice hotel near city centre
Hotel is right next to tram 2 so very convenient to get to city centre. Do expect noise as there are bus and tram stops outside hotel but did not bothered us. We got a spacious room on top floor. Friendly staffs and good continental breakfast. Very reasonable hotel price as everything is so expensive in Switzerland.

We enjoyed our stay. Staff was excellent and helpful. Street noises were a factor late at night and after football matches but not the hotels fault. No AC as most European hotels so need to open windows and run a fan.

Pleasant hotel with lovely staff and a short walk to the old town across the bridge. It was let down because there were no tea or coffee making facilities and no tissues in room. Breakfast was adequate; no more than that! Basel has the best Xmas market I have been to. All good quality - no tat or tackiness like most of them.

The location is a quick transit ride to Old Town or a 15-20 minute walk. It is very easy to get to and parking on the side streets is plentiful. The Italian restaurant is very good and we enjoyed our meals immensely. The hotel staff were very friendly and went above an beyond to help with whatever we needed or asked for.

No tea or coffee facilaties in the room and breakfast is sparse.
Take my advice, stay somewhere else. A little further out, even in Germany and catch the train into Switzerland. It only takes 15 minutes and costs 3 Euros each way.
But the difference in the cost of hotels is vast. 80Euros for a hotel in Germany that has better facilaties against 140CHF for Hotel Resslirytti that has nothing.

I thoroughly enjoyed staying here! Would recommend this hotel to everyone. It is reasonably priced and at a great location. There is a tram stop right across the street and it is very easy to get around the city as well as easy to get to & from the airport. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and wifi was included. The breakfast pastries were delicious! The room was a bit small, but it was perfect for what I needed and worth the price paid.

Was hard to review as hotel is fine but nothing terribly special...was going to send a bad review due to spotty internet that came in and out and then I tried the restaurant...which frankly was amazing...It needs a bit of a refresh but wow food is some of the best in Basel...made we want to go back despite internet problems

The hotel was very convenient to our meeting. The staff was extremely helpful, even gave an umbrella to use during the day. But the hotel has certain issues which need to be fixed - elevator is there but then you still need to take some steps. Good coffee and breakfast.

This is a good hotel located at a busy transport intersection. The hotel has a bar and restaurant which looked busy though I did not have the opportunity to use them. The breakfast was a standard continental and was good, The room was very spacious, with a sofa, table with two chairs and double bed. Reception was efficient and welcoming. The only downside was the traffic is a little noisy,but nothing that kept me awake. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Ideal hotel, but only for short stay
This is a great little hotel, clean, comfy and 8 channels of UK TV. The rooms are pretty small, the bathroom even smaller and tiny bath towels but an easy walk to the conference venue is Basel. There is a very nice Italian restaurant on the ground floor.

Modern hotel in good location
I stayed for one night. I walked from the train station, which takes about 20 minutes, but tram 1 or 2 goes from outside the train station and stops just outside the hotel. It is a short walk along the river to get to the town centre. The room had been recently refurbished, and was clean, modern and comfortable. The continental buffet breakfast is very good. The pizzeria attached to the hotel is also very good, and was busy with a good atmosphere when I was in.

2 of us booked to stay at hotel Resslirytti for a business trip. The room was filthy with the sheets being so thin you could see the stains on the matress. We had booked a non smoking room and were put in a smoking room that smelt horribly and had an ash tray. Upon informing them that we were unhappy with the room they took us to another room which smelt the same, still had an ash tray while telling us that it was a non-smoking room. We couldn't stay the night here and had unfortuntely booked a non refundable rate, which they would not return. We left and booked into another hotel for the night. Terrible.

A fair value for the price paid, but troubled WiFi
The hotel is nicely situated, right over a bridge from the city center, 5 minutes by tram from Bahnhof SBB. The room is average-sized for a 3*** hotel, the environment is a bit cheap and dated but very, very clean. The bed was comfy. There was no aircon so the only way to get some air in the night was to open the window. Since the only window in the room was directly facing the street, it would get quite noisy in the early moring with trams and trucks passing. A big disappointment was the quality of WiFi on my floor: the laptop wouldn't connect to it at all and the connection from the Android phone was dropping every 5 minutes. The only option to work on the internet was to go downstairs.

Mein (Budget-)Einzelzimmer war zwar recht klein. Winzig, um genau zu sein. Aber trotzdem habe ich mich hier sehr, sehr wohlgefühlt. Der Empfang war bereits mega freundlich. Spontan wurde mir mit einem Stromadapter ausgeholfen. Kaffee, Obst und Croissants gibt es gratis in der Lobby. Die Lage des Hotels ist ebenfalls großartig. 10 Minuten zu Fuß bis in die Altstadt. Perfekt! Jederzeit wieder!
