I feel this place is overpriced. It is dated at a poor condition. Not very clean. Very loud. You can hear your neighbors using their bathrooms, for example. This place rates high for a convenience, but otherwise I would pass. I think you can get better value for your money elsewhere.

Easy self check-in. Simple rooms with ample amenities that is most importantly clean. Location was great as it is near to the train station and yet not noisy or unsafe. There is a small convenience store just next to it.

The only inconvenience was there was no kettle in the room so you have to go downstairs' to dispense hot water. Since there are no staff in operation - be prepared to store your luggage at the train station if you arrive too early

No contact information in room if you had any questions. The QR code didnt work.
Baselcard (free public transport) which ALL Basel hotel rooms are entitled to, were not issued until 8 hours after we had to email and ask for them.
Only 1 Euro power socket in the entire room.
Property was clean and had free tea and coffee.

For the amount of money to stay for a night, I was greatly disappointed. The bathroom hadn’t seen a proper deep clean in I don’t even know how long (you can tell with all the mildew buildup). And the pillows were not pillows. I had to grab the towels in the bathroom and use those as pillows. Considering I decided to stay the night in Basel to get some rest before another day of traveling, this was extremely upsetting

Love the convenience of the location. The floor plan was unexpected but great; charming. Loved having the two bathrooms (one full, one half). Wish it had air conditioning. It was warm and stuffy when we arrived.

I liked how convenient it was to parking. It seemed like a free parking pass was provided, however, there were no instructions and ultimately it did not work. The Basel pass was a nice touch, however, I was only there for an overnight and was not able to use it. I was unaware that there would be no reception desk. This is a huge drawback.

Such a noisy place, and had requested a quietly sited room! The hotel is just about on the road, just a narrow pavement. Also can hear the trams all through the night. Bin men early in the morning, oh and the bins have an unpleasant smell.

There was no one to help. Pushing the button outside only made a person open the outside door. But no one to talk to in order to figure out registration machine. The email they were supposed to send the day before was in German. No air. Bad lock on door. No safety whatever. Bathroom was nice!

Situation: Arrived at Basel airport to late to get train home.
Website said a person would be there to great me, no person- it’s was a machine check in. The room number (A2) doesn’t match the lift & door labels (OG2)… and 1 am I was not very patient for this system. Room was clean, bed was very narrow but comfortable, breakfast was good, but odd system. Very noisy building. You can hear everyones voice in hall way, and cleaners start hovering at 8:45am.

Perfect location and very clean. Room was a bit too warm at night but opening the window meant noise from outside made sleeping difficult.

Whilst the check-in was relatively straightforward, I'm not sure having no staff present is a good option. Breakfast was nice although the room that the food and drink is kept in can get a little crowded (i.e. if more than one person is in)

Overall, great value for money and would stay again.

It is really centrally located right next to the main station. It is a great location if you intend to travel on from there. The motel is a not all to well soundproofed from noise inside and outside the motel. The rooms are decently spaced. Overall it is a motel I see myself recommending to others.

Fine for overnight but for longer it’s a bit impersonal having no reception staff. Good to have easy checkout - just need to leave the door-key in the return box. They should advise beforehand that you need your passport number for check-in.

Beautiful room and very convenient location to everything. We had the quadruple bedroom that is almost similar to an apartment. A second bedroom upstairs, skylight that opens, so fresh breeze can get in. Very few human contact with the staff. Nobody was there to help us get a quick tour of the hotel. Except the maintenance lady who spoke very little English. She seems to do all the work. Breakfast is great!

Small well-placed comfortable, unremarkable hotel

Pleasant if unremarkable. Automated check-in and I didn't meet any of the staff who do the cleaning of prepare the breakfast which is also a mixture of self-service and automation. Good place to be as bus to and from the airport stops in front of the Basel SBB main station. Plenty of trams, buses and taxis to get into Basel, although its a 20 minute easy downhill walk to the river. People here seem to go to bed early and get up early. Plumbing gurgles in the morning, so I awoke before my alarm clock went off. Although well signposted, its easy to walk past the front door without noticing it. Breakfast is self-catering and some items are in the cupboards below the preparation surfaces.

A decent hotel for a good price. The location is perfect for a sightseeing holiday or any business in the city centre. The bus to/from the airport stops round the corner, the train station is also very near, and it's only a 15 minutes walk from the main tourist attractions.
I was a bit worried about the check-in at the machine but it worked just fine. The room was well equipped and clean. The only thing I missed was an air conditioner - but these are generally rare in Basel, so be prepared for some unpleasantly high temperatures. I should mention that the 'toiletries provided' means a dispenser with all-in-one detergent serving as soap, shower gel and shampoo. It worked fine for me, even for the hair, but if you feel like your hair needs real shampoo, better bring your own.
The breakfast was filling and tasted good. However, bear in mind that this is a Swiss style breakfast which differs from what one usually gets in UK hotels. There is fresh German style bread, rolls and croissants, but there is no toast, and no toaster for that matter. There isn't any warm food, just cereals, salami, cheese and chilled boiled eggs. The hotel has a Nespresso machine, so the coffee is decent. There is milk and cream to go with the coffee, but it cannot be heated or frothed. I haven't tried the tea, but it's generally not so good in German speaking lands because they all drink herbal teas. The breakfast is completely self-service, so it takes a while to figure out where what food is kept.

Ok hotel for a couple of nights, but there were no towels in my room when I arrived, with no reception (self-check-in) I had to improvise with the bedsheets! Towels were provided later after I left a note for the cleaners. Don't expect too much from this hotel, it's just a place to rest for the night.

Good stay, as long as you don't need services

The hotel was perfect for what we needed. Good location and very comfortable room for a family. Not having a front desk was a little odd, but we did not have issues checking in, including arriving pretty early on our day. If you just need it as a home base and not need much in terms of service, this is the property for you.

Easy self check in (though a little time consuming inputting our personal details at the kiosk), clean room, decent sleep, very simple. Close to Basel SBB, free grab and go breakfast included with a small but decent selection . Exactly what you should expect of a motel at this price, no frills.

The hotel advertises itself as 24 hour concierge but it does not make clear that there is actually no front desk at all. It is entirely reliant on a computer screen and if one tries to key in the booking details, it will not allow a check in and will ask the guest to come back after 3pm. There is also no clear way of leaving luggage at the hotel even though there must be housekeeping in the morning. The hotline at the buzzer is also unreliable - it can ring but there is no answer or it will just drop off. It was therefore difficult to reach anyone other than to make expensive overseas calls and even then the machine that generates the access card is very unreliable. Even after 3pm, it didn’t work and the lady at the bar had to call the person in charge to resolve. Leaving luggage at the hotel was equally problematic. There was no one to answer the door even though housekeeping was there. Again the hotline at the buzzer doesn’t and one had to make an overseas call just to get an access card which again didn’t work because the machine hung but luckily housekeeping came out. A very poorly run and inefficient process

It is hard to rate the hotel staff when there aren't any! The non-human check-in takes a bit of time. Maybe you could get a scanner for the ID? You should have already had the info from my reservation, so you just needed to confirm who I was. Non-human breakfast is O.K., but it means there are no hot options like scrambled eggs, so it is somewhat lacking. The arrangement of the shower in the upstairs suite is not ideal. I want to stand and take a proper shower.

A very interesting stay

The smart hotel is great or mediocre depending on your needs. Our experience was excellent, the hotel saved us money and providing an impressive breakfast. The automated system worked nicely with no problems. If you are disabled, slow elderly or in need of comfort, the hotel is not for you. I would not stay here in very hot weather, there is no air conditioning. An open window allows the outside noise in and the third world never sleeps! However, for many travelers the negatives are out weighed by the positives.

We enjoyed our stay in Basel!

The room is small but well organized with closet and shelves space. Fresh water carafe in the room. Good lighting. Bathroom ok. The best was the free and abundant breakfast, cold but varied, high quality products, all delicious served on nice tableware. Everything efficient and environment friendly. Less than ten minutes walk to the Altstadt.

Sehr praktisch gelegen, direkt beim Bahnhof SBB. Jedoch laut von den Trams und vom Treppenhaus hört man alles. Das empfand ich als störend. Auch die Seitengasse, in der das Hotel gelegen ist, empfand ich als unangenehm. In der Nacht mit den zwielichten Personen, die dort herum lungerten, fühlte ich mich unwohl bei der Anreise.

Nicht zu empfehlen.

Altes und runtergekommenem Zustand. Wirkt nicht nur dreckig sondern ist es auch.
Der Aufenthalt war katastrophal. Direkt auf der Hauptstrasse haben die Bauarbeiten die ganze Nacht angehalten. Dort wurden die Schienen ausgetauscht und der Asphalt neu gemacht. Keine Nacht geschlafen.

Een goed en schone kamer lekker centraal en dichtbij openbaar vervoer. Koffie automaat beneden bij de ingang, goede bedden en verder heel rustig. Het inchecken vond ik wat lastig in dat kleine bloedhete halletje. Voor herhaling vatbaar, dat is zeker.

A localização é perfeita, na frente da estação Basel SBB. Tudo funcionou bem no check in e check out. O café da manhã estava gostoso, o pão estava sempre fresquinho. O quarto era bom, mas a cama de casal tinha 2 colchões de solteiro separados. O box do banheiro não cobria a parte da frente do chuveiro, o que deixava muita água respingar. Ótima relação custo X benefício.

Rooms are very noisy. If someone closes a door, you can hear it in your room. Rooms itself are okay, nothing special. Bathroom looked nice at first, but if you look closely you see its a little old.
Location is very near to the station and not too far from the city, but its not the best location.
There is no reception. When you enter the hotel, there is no one there.

ngenehmer Aufenthalt in Basel

Das Hotel liegt in angenehm fussläufiger Entfernung zur Stadtmitte und fast gegenüber vom Bahnhof SBB.Unser Zimmer hatte eine angenehme Größe, war zweckmäßig eingerichtet und Zimmer und Bad waren sehr sauber.
Das Frühstück war vollkommen ausreichend mit verschiedenen Brot- und Aufschnittsorten.
Alles war gut durchorganisiert und auch ohne Rezeption konnten wir uns mit Prospektmaterial und Stadtplan versorgen. Der Selfcheckin war unproblematisch und schnell.
Ich würde jederzeit wieder in diesem Hotel wohnen und es auch weiter empfehlen.

Für Geschäftsreisen nur bedingt geeignet

Gute Lage nahe des SBB. Zentral, aber trotzdem ruhig. Bequemes Bett. Aufenthalt selbst daher gut. Automatischer Check In leider ungeeignet für Geschäftsreisen, da am Terminal keine Firmendaten eingegeben werden können. Ich muss jetzt nachträglich per E-Mail eine Rechnung auf die Firma ausstellen lassen (die dann hoffentlich auch kommt).

Hotel muito honesto para o q se propõe, quarto é pequeno porém colchão e travesseiros muito bons. Café da manhã razoável com um pouco de tudo sem opções de pratos quentes. Localização perfeita ao lado da estação de trem e dos bondes ao qual a hospedagem te da direito de usar o transporte público também do lado mercado municipal com comida de várias partes do mundo!

Hotel mit \"self check in\", der Automat ist einfach zu bedienen und generiert den Zimmerschlüssel. Toplage am Bahnhof Basel SBB, trotzdem ruhig. Schönes und umfangreiches Frühstücksbüffet. Kein Personal, ausser eine freundliche Person, ich nehme an, sie macht die Zimmer und kümmert sich um das Frühstücksbüffet, die einem alles erklärt.

Praktisch, zentral und Preis-Leistung völlig okay.

Für Zwischenübernachtung vor frühem Abflug ideal, nur wenige Schritte vom Bahnhof Basel SBB und dem Airportbus. Check in via Automat, Check out nur Schlüssel einwerfen - das wars. Frühes Frühstück schon vor der offiziellen Zeit möglich. Steht fast alles zum selbst nehmen bereit. Positiv: Als Upgrade lag auf dem Zimmer eine Basel-Card bereit (u. a. für den ÖPNV und paar Rabatte). Fahrstuhl vorhanden.
