Very courteous staff, nice clean room with a comfortable bed, quiet and convenient, and the breakfast was wonderful. I had a pleasant stay and I would definitely recommend the Radisson Blu. Additionally, the restaurant is very nice and open late. Wonderful atmosphere and the food is beautifully presented. The chef takes great pride in showcasing his artistic talent. I had arrived late the first night and the charcuterie board was the perfect meal.

The heat didn’t work in the first room I was issued on 1st floor. And it didn’t work in the 2nd room issued on the 6th floor. Finally, the 3rd room, also on the 6th floor, worked. The front desk did everything they could to help, so I appreciate that. It was okay to stay in for a brief stay. Close to trains and to get to city center.

1- early check in approved but room was not ready until 2 hours later. Then hotel tried to charge me for the early check in anyways.

The room was not cleaned properly despite me mentioning it on the second day. There were stains on the window sill, the toilet had limescale, and the rooms had a lot of dust. I emailed in advance to inform the hotel of my dust allergy yet only the bedding was changed but no extra care in cleaning despite mentioning at reception on the 2nd day. The room also wasn’t cleaned on the 3rd day for some reason.

Lovely room, very clean and spacious. The staff in the lobby were really friendly and helpful, was also impressed by their English! They helped us to book an early morning shuttle for the airport. We didn't use wider amenities as no time but would absolutely stay again..
Only downfall was no toilet paper and there was no milk! Tea and coffee provided by no milk.

The property was perfectly located to restaurants, shopping, and local sites. The tram literally picked up within feet of the front entrance. The single room was the perfect size for one. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The staff were professional and helpful. They spoke English and German. I would definitely stay here again.

Disappointing stay for a Radisson. Tiny, cramped room with barely enough room between bed and wall to open my suitcase. Very dimly lit with no overhead ceiling light and no light on one side of the bed. Room hadn’t been cleaned properly with papers and water bottle left in the desk. Very basic furnishings and interior that felt like a budget hotel.

Staff at reception and restaurant were very good and meal there was okay.

I am currently staying at this hotel, but my experience has been very disappointing. The room is not very clean, and the front desk staff are not very friendly. In addition, I had to pay $30 per night for parking, but the parking gate would not open even after I inserted the paid ticket. This caused a lot of inconvenience, as I had to wait for the staff to come and assist us, which took quite a long time.

We had a very nice sleep at the hotel, it was central enough for us to walk around the old town.

We did not have a good experience with some of the restaurant staff, one morning, completely empty restaurant we were ignored by a waitress as she cleared a table.
Even when I asked for two cappuccino and two croissants, she reply yes and continued to clean the table. Odd

Central location. Free local transport with the Basel card and the tram just opposite. The hotel is within walking distance to shops,
restaurants, local museums and attractions. Room spacious and clean with usual amenities. Good variety at breakfast. Will stay there again if back in Basel.

Everything was great, it has a unique style for a chain, very comfortable. Loved that the windows properly opened. Free apples and candy a nice touch!
Only thing that was a bit annoying is that the pool and sauna was closed on Sundays.

Disappointed with Bathroom Comfort

My wife and I stayed for 7 days in a Superior Room at the Radisson Blu Basel. While the room itself is fine, the bathroom is extremely small and uncomfortable — barely functional for a proper shower. It’s not what we expected from a Radisson Blu, especially considering the price we paid and our status as Radisson Rewards members.

The cramped bathroom setup has made our stay far less pleasant than it should be. We hope the hotel takes this kind of feedback seriously, because it’s hard to relax when basic comfort is compromised. We will not come back to this Radisson in Basel, although we are Radisson Rewards members.

Very central hotel. The dining options are limited but there are numerous restaurants nearby. The hotel is slightly dated but perfectly comfortable. My standard room had the world’s smallest bathroom- think airplane toilet. The parking is limited and you may have trouble parking as larger SUVs tend to take up more than one space. There is however a parking garage nearby.

DIdn't feel that the staff were really interested. We were in a family room with 3 of us staying in it, it wasn't very big for 3 people and the 'air-conditioning' was very old fashioned and ineffective, all noise and no cool air coming into the room. Our daughter was unwell which I had mentioned and they didn't really care. She only really wanted to lie down as she had so little energy and maybe watch a bit of TV, but surprisingly for an international chain, with family rooms, there were only 2 English speaking channels on the TV (CNN and Bloomburg), I know that we wouldn't normally be staying in the room to watch TV when in Basel but these were our circumstances with a poorly daughter. We couldn't get the Netflix streaming to work either which was frustrating.
We ended up eating at the hotel, it was OK, very expensive, but probably on a par with other restaurants in the area. We didn't enjoy our stay I think mainly because we didn't feel welcomed or valued in any way as guests.

Not helped by the initial impression at check in, which was my worst check in experience of any hotel I’ve stayed at. Amazing service - we arrived early for check in but they treated us royally, with discounts on museums and public transit, and access to the lounge and other amenities. They were super busy but still kind and attentive. Our room was modern, large and super clean, and the location was perfect.

Check-in was easy and friendly. We had a superior room which was quiet, facing out to a courtyard rather than the road. The bed was very comfortable and the facilities good. It was great to have a pool as well as the gym. The breakfasts were plentiful, setting us up for the day.

We were initially unsure about the hotel's location as the route took us sideways away from the recognisable routes to the old town, past a park and down a steep, secluded slope. However once there the hotel is on a wide road served by trams and with the theatre area only about 10 minutes walk away. There is also a parallel street full of bars and restaurants so there is plenty of choice nearby.

Overall, we were very happy with our choice of hotel and recommend it highly.

I wanted to confirm a few points before arrival - that my child had been added to the booking and that parking was available. Very disappointing that despite emailing twice to both the hotel and HQ, and phoning, there was no response. On arrival there was no apology when mentioning this at reception, just confirmation that they’d seen the email that morning, but no reason as to why no response was sent. It was also disappointing that the marketing photos for the Suite show there to be a small balcony area only to be told on arrival that no rooms have balconies. Not the service I would expect from a Radisson hotel at all. Plenty of other, similar priced hotels in Basel which are much better.

Beautiful updated hotel, convenient for our performance at the Stadtcasino.

Our only qualm was a mixup with the rooms. I was informed our room category had adjoining rooms available. The request for adjoining rooms was confirmed both via email and verbally.

At check-in, however, we were informed that adjoining rooms didn’t exist in the room category we booked, and because the hotel was fully booked, there was no availability to switch.

This was not ideal for our large family with young kids.

It was only one night but it was clean and comfortable and convenient. There was a ton of public transportation right out the front door as well. I wish the hotel had an airport shuttle because we were really ripped off by the cab we took which we found out later was a 7-9 minute trip took 35 minutes and they charged double what other cabs quoted but waited until we reached our destination to charge us (no meter).

I had a very disappointing experience with this hotel. I made my reservation through Expedia and paid in full prior to my arrival. However, upon check-in, I was asked to provide a card for incidentals. When I checked out, I noticed an unexpected charge of over £500. I initially assumed this was a temporary hold that would be refunded in a few days, but after multiple calls and no clear resolution, I’m still left with no answers. Unfortunately, the hotel has been unresponsive, simply redirecting me to Expedia. I would advise caution when booking here and would not recommend staying at this hotel.

Really nice hotel in a great location

It's in great location, walkable from the main train station and also walkable to the main touristy/restaurant area of the city.

The room we had was huge, more like a small apartment. Everything was in great condition and checkin was super easy.

Having the free bus pass was very handy, as it meant we could make our way back to the airport at no extra charge (you need bus 50 to get to the airport, it stops just on the left hand side (as you are walking out) of the main entrance to the SBB station. The only slight negative is the room felt quite warm, which was the case for all of the hotels we stayed in in Switzerland. We had air con but turning that down didn't make too much of a difference. But I would say this is a great place to stay if visiting Basel or even if you are just transiting through e.g. making your way to or from the mountains.

I had cleaners entering my room everyday despite putting the do not clean sign. Complaining to the front desk did nothing. At the end when I got my bill, it said I was from Palestine. I am an Israeli citizen, with an Israeli passport. And the face they tries pushing there political agenda on me is the reason I would never stay at this hotel again.

The only negative was that other guest’s dog lefy 2 piles of geces in the corridet. Someone tried to remove it but left 2 significant feces smears on the carpet. We immediately notified front desk receptionist. Then next morning we told the housekeeper who was aware. The smears remained for our entire visit until our last morning when we submitted complaints to reception director again, it was finally cleaned at the time of our departure. We completed guest surveys & complaint forms.
Since dogs are welcome almost everywhere in European countries then the hotels must be more responsible & respectful to other guests!
We hope our next hotel reservation has a MORE SIZEABLE discount from Expedia.

we stayed at this hotel a couple of weeks back on the 4th floor and were very happy with the rooms - however this time we got the 6th floor rooms via expedia and are disappointed- rooms were much smaller to the point of being unusable, bathrooms were old and in need of renovation (shower fixtures falling off), access to the rooms are through what looks like a back office service area…

shame for an otherwise nice hotel - avoid 6th and 5th floor rooms - the others are much better

The Radisson Blu was our first and last stop for tour of 3 cities. The staff was very friendly and accommodating during our stay. The location of the hotel was an added plus. The Christmas markets and train station were 10 minutes from its location. If visiting Basel it’s a good choice.
