The staff were helpful and friendly during my one night stay. All areas were clean and tidy. The breakfast choices were broad and healthy. The hotel is a short walk form the main Basel train station and very close to tram stops. I enjoyed my stay.

Nearby to train station.

We were allowed to store our luggages in a locked room before check in. We didn’t have the correct adapter for charging phones and the receptionist lend us an adapter. In the end we purchased it from the hotel. She was very helpful and cheerful all the time. The hotel is nearby to train station. Breakfast was excellent.

Excellent Budget Hotel Choice in Great Location

Very efficient check-in with Basel Card issued. Basic, clean room with all needed amenities for a short stay. Very well located near the main train station and the tram is just outside. Breakfast had a very good selection of both hot and cold choices. A good choice, thank you.

Position of the shower head points towards the door. After taking a shower water was all over the floor outside meaning there must be a leak or that the door is not well insulated to prevent water from flowing out. Mat towel was wet and had to wipe dry the floor. What an inconvenience.

Great hotel near the SBB station. Staff super friendly and helpful. We stayed there one night before getting to the airport the next morning. They also offer a city : free access to public transportation. So you don't have to pay for the bus to the airport.

Basel respite

Check in was straightforward. We were there earlier than we thought we'd be, and exhausted after our flight. I asked if we could check in early. The answer was yes, for Sfr. 30. I said yes because we were so tired. I feel that was a lot, as the room was not that cheap. But in the long run, what price can you put on a nap? The two ladies at the desk in the evening were super friendly and helpful. The room was compact but very clean.

Efficient hotel room in a charming city

We checked in at the front desk and took an elevator to our room. We enjoyed seeing Basal the next day using free public transportation. It is a very nice town. We chose not to have breakfast, but I didn’t see where you could grab a cup of coffee. There was no coffee or tea in our room.

We picked this hotel based on location and the many mentions of the helpful staff. The staff is amazing and Danielle at the front desk helped us arrange our lodging in Lucerne, provided detailed info about the train options to Colmar, Lucerne, and then Paris.

The location proved as a great “home base” for our day trips. The 16 tram is right outside the front door, the “local” side of the train station is walking distance. For our trip to Paris we took a different tram to the front side of the train station where trains to Paris left from. You could walk through the back/local side but we had large luggage.

The rooms were clean and bright, left luggage was easy to arrange, there are lots of dining options nearby, the TV had English options, there is a hairdryer supplied, and the beds were comfortable.

The hotel is fine but it is the knowledgeable, kind staff that makes this hotel shine!

We look forward to returning!

First time in an Ibis and would definitely try one again based on our experience in Basel. The staff was eager to help with directions to things we wanted to get to.
Location was very close to trams to get to anywhere. The train station and bus station were very close.
Don't plan on doing your laundry in this city. There is only one laundromat and we couldn't get it to work, nor was there anyone to ask.
This is a great city to visit. The river and the things around it were amazing. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

A Few Days Away

This hotel is really convenient for the main railway station (SBB and SNCF). After a day exploring the city and surrounding area the bar offers a selection of drinks and snacks before ascending to your room. This was most welcome during this particular stay as there was an unexpected mini heatwave!

Good location within walking distance of the riverside area. Hotel does have parking but there are two issues to beware of. Firstly there are no directions to the entrance or instructions about how to enter. Also the entrance is very very steep and cars with limited ground clearance will not safely exit without grounding !!!

An enjoyable stay enhaced by a friendly reception

We arrived early hoping to check in our bags. Instead the reception manager arranged an early check in, provided tourist information and a Basel Card which gave us free transport and a 50% reduction at tourist attractions. In all this saved us a great deal and assisted us enjoying the tourist sites. The room was very comfortable and located close to the station. I regret that I did not catch the reception manager name so I coud thank him properly but will describe him as a sports lover.

Excellent location for a stay in Basel

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the buffet breakfast delicious. The hotel is walkable to the main sites, but with the Basel card issued free to those staying in city hotels, use of the trams and buses is free.
Being right next to the station day trips out to other locations, eg lausanne are easily possible, or onward travel by train.

It was a little old. The water in the shower kept going hot and cold. The reception lady during checkin was a little rude.
Our room was facing the main street so it was extremely loud. We could hear the trams and people shouting on the streets. Other than that it was alright.

Right so the hotel per se was brilliant. Clean,safe and secure. Room very comfy and spacious enough for 2 people. Nice clean bathroom and shower was brilliant. Friendly and helpful staff. Well located and to our surprise it included a basel cars for each of us, to use all transport and get 50% off of various attractions and places of interest. Has got tram stations within 15 meters of its entrance that take you straight into old town. 6 mins walk to basel banhof sbb and still very quiet. So nicely located for whatever you may need. Why 4 instead of 5 stars? Drawbacks... plug sockets to charge mobiles were too far away from the bed and does not have usb sockets to charge ... it would have been nice if the tv had been a smart tv to be able to use netflix or so. and as well does not have coffee or tea facilities within the room, so rather frustrating. although yes it has a restaurant/ cafe downstairs but still
Has got good internet service and the little terrace and cafe/restaurant was good.
If we were to come back to basel defo would use again and would recommend for others to use this hotel. Very pleased with our choice for a holiday in one of the most beautiful but expensive cities we have been.
