The hotel staff was excellent. The location of the hotel is perfectly placed in the old city easy to find and very close to the SBB train station. The rooms are beautifully updated. Have a very Swiss modern feel. I suggest getting a room on the front side of the hotel, preferably a higher floor.

We were upgraded, which was quite a nice surprise. Check in was very easy, reception was very friendly. Room was large, clean and the bed was very comfortable. Location was also very convenient to the train station but also shopping areas.

Breakfast was the only criticism- the food was fresh but for the price, I would have appreciated a few more warm options.

Picked the Hotel for closeness to the station a 10 minute walk.
Stylish hotel in the heart of Basel in walking distance to all the major attractions.
Lots of dining choices nearby.
Reception staff excellent,room superbly large by European standards,breakfast good variety.

We enjoyed our stay here very much, the location is very central to the train station and trams, as well as easily walkable to main tourist attractions. The hotel is on a bustling street with late night bars. The breakfast buffet is provided with fee, but it was very delicious.

Great hotel; very odd location

The interiors and room quality is excellent. However the hotel is in a shopping and restaurant centre so it feels very odd and there is a great deal of external noise. Our very large window looks out on to a service yard...
That said the location in town is good, so fine for a one night stopover.

Lovely hotel in centre of Basel. Nice staff, nice breakfast (extra) and free mini bar (not re stocked during stay which was a shame). Only irritation - very noisy of a weekend as hotel is right on Main Street on top of bars. Woke on Saturday night / Sunday morning by a brawl outside window. To be fair hotel make you aware of risk of noise - but only after you have booked it. Nice place tho and very pleasant rooms and very comfortable with pleasant open plan design.

Large beautiful and comfortable room, only diwnside is a pet peeve, not enough places to hang towels, and they dont provide a bag for taking dirty laundry home. Really good location, in the middle of everything.

When I booked this property, it was classified as a 4star hotel. This place is less than 3. The pictures in the website with the terraces are very deceiving. There’s only one in the top bar. This Place is extremely loud and I was not able to sleep. The reception area is smaller than my living room and guests’ rooms are right off this area (lack of privacy when entering/ leaving the room). They state on the website that they have laundry facilities. They do NOT. They have a laundry service which charges per piece. They should clarify that in the website. Laundry service is very different than laundry “facility.” We had prepaid over $300 per night for two days; however, the place was so disappointing that we decided to leave after only one night, forgoing the $300 for the second night and leaving town early to find a true 4star hotel. I would never stay in this place again.

Very nice hotel-clean, close to train station (walked it both ways), would stay here again. Only issue, which is part of the hotel design, is that the area of the bathroom is not walled off-instead, there are sliding doors that are covered in a heavy paper, which does not make them soundproof. Too easy to hear what is going on in the bathroom if there are two people in the room. But I would still return to this hotel.

Great small hotel

The hotel was very nice. Accessible to Old Basel, the room was clean and the staff was more than helpful, they were, in a word, delightful. The only drawback (which is not their fault) was that there is no air conditioning, due to regulations for new buildings in the city built after 2021. It was quite hot the first night we were there, so a bit uncomfortable. We were given a fan for the second night which made all the difference. You have to ask for one, they don't automatically make one available. Overall, though, I would give this hotel very high marks.

Great hotel! Location is surrounded by good food options. Close to tram stops. The only negative is the open plan bathroom (Club Suite) which is shared by all the occupants of the suite ( up to 4 people).
The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Exceeded my expectations!

The hotel was very creatively designed and decorated. A lot of attention was paid to artistic detail.

The location is very convenient but the area is also a center for club activity so the music and yelling by club patrons goes on until after 3 AM on weekends. Earplugs are definitely needed to get a good night's rest on these nights.

Great location & calm neutral interior

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel & room. Our check in was very smooth and we loved the small coffee breakout area where we could wait while they sorted out an upgrade of our room. The team kindly offered us an upgrade to a ‘quieter’ room given we were staying over the busy weekend nights. The hotel is situated in a street that gets packed late at night with lots of yelling and music so if that’s something that would annoy you, then this isn’t the spot for you. We appreciated the soundproof doors & aircon though as it really helped when it got loud (even in our ‘quieter’ room it was still busy/loud outside).
But the room itself makes up for the loud exterior, it’s a calm haven of soft and neutral tones with a Japandi aesthetic. We first thought the bed would be uncomfortable as it a quite a thin mattress slat style bed but it was surprisingly comfortable once lying on it and it turned out to be one of my favourite beds from our whole trip (4 hotels).
I loved that there was a bluetooth sound system in the room - it’s something I wish more hotels have as being able to play your own music totally transforms a space.
The service was really friendly and helpful - we had a friend visiting from Zurich one evening for dinner and she forgot her USB charger and the reception team kindly offered to charge her device while we were at dinner. I loved the proximity to the ‘old town’ and the water, as Basel is so small you can walk it all. I would stay here again

This is a new style hotel, with a serious reference to ryokans in Japan. Loved that. The shower was on a smaller size, especially given the category of the room. Amazing sheets of highest quality. The hotel is located on a very busy pedestrian street so opening windows was not an option. The hotel sent me an advance notice about that. With closed windows the room is super quiet. Overall location is great - close to everything and lots of great bars and restaurants just a stonethrow away. Breakfast was not opulent, but the staff at the bar was excellent. Same can be said about the reception. Overall impression - great place, with adequate money for value ratio.

Don't recommend for families

This hotel should note in huge bold signs the following: it is located on a pedestrian street so you will NOT be able to pull up with your luggage; and it's located just above several bars so it will be VERY LOUD at night. If you are traveling with children, I would strongly recommend you look elsewhere as they will not be able to sleep with the noise, and you'll have to deal with how to get your luggage and children to the hotel in the first place.

We are a family of four people with two young children (aged 4) who traveled from Zurich. Getting to the hotel with our luggage and children in tow was the first challenge. Second challenge was the partying downstairs that made it impossible for our kids to sleep, even though we were on the top floor. Third challenge was that there are no sofas/seating areas, even in their biggest suite, so our kids had to sit on the floor to play or color. (There is one desk chair only). Fourth challenge was that our room was not quite clean - we found random hairs and dustballs in the bathroom and shower, and the floor was dusty, which was extra annoying since our kids had no choice but to sit on the floors to play since there are no sofas/seating. Overall, would say this is a place for adults only, no families or kids. Also, for the price they were charging (over $600/night), the lack of amenities (breakfast wasn't even included) was pretty atrocious when every other hotel in town will offer breakfast with the rate for half the price.

Great stay and would definitely return. Very central location, within 10 mins walk of the station and close to lots of shops, bars and restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful. We’d also recommend the cocktails at the bar and the Sicilian pop up restaurant, very delicious.

Disappointing neighborhood. When I saw the complimentary earplugs, I knew I had made a mistake. Nice room, lovely staff, copious amenities, but a dismal area of low end restaurants/bars (burgers/pizza) and noise, often loud drunks. Views were ugly and early mornings were the clang of delivery and garbage trucks. Also, the A/C ventilation system didn't seem to work. We were told it takes 20 minutes to turn on, which is ridiculous, and it never did, so nights were stuffy. I wish I had stayed at an older hotel up the hill in Altstadt. However, if you are a drinker/alcoholic, the free minibar will make your day. The street honestly reminded me an aspect of America I wish to leave far behind when I come to Europe.

Based on previous reviews, I actually expected a lot more. Based on the pictures of the hotel, I expected a much bigger room. The room was tiny. There is no air condition and you cannot leave the windows open because of the very busy street. It was a cold day/night, but we could not get the room cool enough. Be aware of this when booking.
The bathroom was wonderful, the interior design is very nice. Amenities are functional. We did not take breakfast because of the price.
