A very expensive breakfast at $28, though it is possible to order individual things for less. Shower head at about a meter high and didn't really work. Dated, but not terrible.

A dresser in the room that has a broken handle tore my £390.00 Charles Tyrwhitt suit trouser. I then discussed very politely with Amanda(one of their senior staff) that someone will get cut by that same drawer handle if they do not attend to it. I also showed Amanda that they were coackroaches in the room which she saw. In addition, i showed her that the shower was full of mold and gnats, which she also saw. She then escalated the matter to her superior, a heavily built man who was courteous and apologetic. He promised to relay the matter to the hotel manager who was away on the morning i checked out. They promised to get back to me on Monday 4 November 2024 but they never did.

The overall is outstanding, howeever the building is very old and outdated. The heater did not work and I was force to sleep with my sweater and long johns on to stay warm. The bed was not comfortable. The hotel is close to the city center, and throughout my stay I didn't have any problems besides the condition of the hotel. For the cost to book at this hotel, I was expecting for better.

What did I like about the place, absolutely nothing. The images they use for advertising don't show the actual state of the place. It's run down and the images which influenced my decision to book a room may have been true 30 years ago but imagine what the place would look like after many years of next to zero maintenance. They shouldn't use the images they're using now to advertise themselves because it shows a different hotel, they should get new images taken now and I wonder how many people would actually book with them when they see how it is now.

I am sorry if I sound harsh but the New Ambassador hotel that I knew before is no longer there? I know things are a bit hard at home lately but we expected better..cockroaches..dirty toilet basin and the general cleanliness was not up to standard. Only 1 container of bottled water for a couple with a baby? No calls to confirm if all was fine in our room..no room service?? Perhaps I expected much but I genuinely believe we can do better..My wife took photos but we decided against pasting these to protect your image.

Stayed in one of the double rooms, has very shiny floor tiles in the bath room. In the morning after shower I tried to walk out of shower I stepped on these floor tiles and they are very slippery and I slip and fell badly resulting in an injured elbow. There was not enough towels in the bathroom.

Location is great - everything is close by: the president' office (Munhumutapa Building) right behind the hotel; Defense house adjacent to hotel, gas / service station right across from hotel, Church (catholic) across from hotel, parliament of Zimbabwe just a block over.
Living environment: Due to vicinity to the above, place is busy with absolutely nightmare for parking, no pull in area to get out of car/taxi and move luggage out into lobby. In fact, pull in area in front of hotel will have entry and exit blocked by parked cars and two or three cars literally parked in the pull in driveway.
If you want to work - the internet connectivity is great on both iPhone and Apple Mac Book (i should just say on mobile phone and laptop).. but not sure how android works with this WiFi because i an iPhone person

One have to set this hotel in the frames of Zimbabwe. If this hotel would be in any other country I would be more harsh, but knowing the situation in Zimbabwe, I take that into account.

Harare is not a tourist city but charges tourist prices.. This hotel has high prices for drinks and even higher for food. The standard of food is poor and service very slow. Having said that the hotel is ok and rooms reasonably priced compared with the rest of the city..

The New Ambassador Hotel boasts fantastic, speedy service that will suit all your needs - from solid wifi to connecting you to excellent car service and beyond. Please be aware, however, that dining options in and near the hotel are limited; I often would eat at a place near my meetings and come back to New Ambassador to work at night, shower, and rest. Overall, this was a great stay that exceeded my minimal requirements for this business trip.
