Nice, big hotel with swimming pool. Very busy during our stay with various events taking place. Rooms are nice size however the finish in the bathroom needs improvement for a 5 star hotel. Breakfast is good with lots of choice. All the staff are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay but do not feel overall that the 5 star rating is accurate. Also we were issued two keys - one works the elevators and the other the room. Unfortunately at check in we were not informed of this, thus ensued some delay in lift until another resident explained how the keys work.

Stay was ok but I wouldn’t come back.

No safe in the room, air con/heating didn’t turn on, ironing board but no iron and no hairdryer.

Ordered room service one evening which seemed to a game as to what I might get. Two people hung up on me while trying to order
It wasn’t even possible to leave a card at reception so needed to pay for every single thing as you went which is just an unnecessary hassle in a hotel for a business trip

GOOD BUT NOT GREAT

Upon walking in to the foyer it is very evident that this hotel used to be grand and glamorous. The foyer area is dated but well maintained.
We had to change bedrooms three times until we found a room with an air con that worked well enough. However, the renovated room was very pleasant and the mattress comfortable.
All of the staff were friendly and helpful—no fault there at all! However, the prices of things is outrageous. A buffet breakfast is $32.00 and buffet dinner is $37.00. If you need things done in the business center I suggest you try to have all that work done before you arrive. Just to copy one page is $1.00.
Other areas such as the gym, sauna, and pool area left a bad taste in our mouths so much so that we didn’t use these facilities. They were outdated and run down and need serious updates and repair.
The food was excellent, just a bit pricey.
Will we return to Rainbow Towers? Mmm, I’m not sure, it depends on whether they up their game and give you the product you pay for.

The staff was friendly, and many of them I assume, tried their best, still, my 5 days in this hotel have been one of the least pleasant experiences in any hotel.
1. Air conditioning didn’t work. Notified the staff on day 1, then on day 2, and so on. Day 5 came and it was never fixed. Harare was about 30• C, nights were hot and uncomfortable, we could barely sleep.
2. Internet was terrible. In the rooms, in the lobby, in the mezzanine. Couldn’t even open my email. Bought a local SIM card and even then, signal in the hotel was poor, I missed crucial work meetings because my phone was unable to connect to zoom.
3. Breakfast is very expensive for what you get. The first breakfast buffet I see where you get a ticket and it is taken away on your first pass. So you can’t eat more- not that I wanted but for $32 per person you would expect better. Internet worked better in the morning so I worked in my room until 10am, missing breakfast time. The main restaurant was packed so ordered room service. My food arrived 90 minutes later.
4. Housekeeping isn’t done efficiently. Every morning I came to my room after working out to find no towels to shower or dry my hands. Twice had to call reception for someone to bring me towels so I could shower. After an hour or so someone would come to empty the trash, then to make the bed, and so on. I opened the door to housekeeping 4-5 times every morning.

I wish I could give a better review because staff was friendly but I am glad I checked out.

The room is very nicely laid out and comfortable and there are a few different restaurants, bars and a cafe in the hotel. It's comfortable (and warm!), but not very well maintained - my room didn't have a safe, the toilet seat was falling off, the sink was blocked, no tea bags in the room, and there were cockroaches running around at night. The breakfast was definitely not worth US$33. It was pretty much a standard hotel buffet, but didn't even offer anything beyond tea and filter coffee, even though the hotel has an espresso machine (and sells cappuccinos for $4 each), the eggs never arrived...I will not repeat this experience.

There is a big problem with currency specifically usd1. There are far too many times they did not have change.
The waiters at the cafe are slow and most times you have to beg for thier attention.

There are 4 staff members who are awesome and deserve merit: Max - Aviator Bartender, Cynthia - Cafe Alvin and Loraine - reception.

Easy of parking, but my check in experience was horrible as I was put in a room with a fixed 28 degrees celsus, complained and made to wait long hours then changed into another room with a key that did not work and took 2 days to fix. The room had a broken toilet seat and the shower soap holder with left over soap from the previous occupant with is obviously leftover germs. PLEASE DO BETTER!!!!

The Food was not good and very high. They shot the price up for me. I always bring microwavable snacks on trips...the resturant would not allow me to use theirs...no microwave in room. Service at resturants was terrible. I ate there the first couple of days and then caught a taxi and went to outside restaurants. Better and cheaper including taxi fee. Overall, it is good.

I ended my stay 3 days early. When i checked in the room was actually dirty. there were food stains on the desk. There were complimentary toiletries missing. Almost as if all they really did was remake the bed and do a quick cleanup before i checked in later that day. Finding roaches in the bathroom every day of m stay was not pleasant either. Room service never got my orders right, the a/c ddnt really work and all it did was dry up the air in the room... between the sweating at night and the nosebleed from the dry air i was miserable. I get we are in COVID-19 times but most of the things i wanted were out, such as orange juice, cranberry juice etc.. there were a few other things i was displeased about but ill stop there. The food i did get was not half bad at all. the burger was really juicy and cooked right. I will not be staying there anytime soon. For the price i would rather check out Meikles.

-The business center is only available for people having upgraded room!!!
- Most of the time there is only one elevator working for 17 floor!! i had to wait more than 20 minutes sometimes to move to 2 different floor!!!
- Room service guy super rude and not always have what ordered!!
- Shower is so small and so old you cannot take shower properly. At least there was a bathtab
- The cleaning lady took out towels although I had not done check out..

+ Spatious and clean room although the bathroom clearly need a refreshment
+ Recpetionnists and most of staffs were very kind and helpful

Although the rating shows 5-star, It isn’t.

We were told that it is a 5-star resort. It certainly is not! Although they tried to make things work, it just wasn’t possible because the air conditioning did not work in any of the 3 rooms they put us in for starters. Maybe some day it will be, it is currently under construction (which we were not told by your reservation agent). The carpet in the hall and rooms are severely stained and it in no way lived up to our expectations of a 5-star property. Waldorf-Astoria, Ritz-Carlton, Four Season’s, Mandarin Oriental... those are 5-star resorts. This was not that. If they are comparing it to other properties close by, then say so. Don’t compare it to the best resorts in the world, it’s just not not an accurate depiction.

Tired rooms but excellent service!

The hotel is in need of some renovation in the rooms - as they are screaming late 80's. The rooms are tired, not to mention the brown bathrooms. The staff at this hotel are amazing though - they go out of their way to help, and are ALL exceptionally friendly - this ALMOST makes up for the old rooms. Breakfast was very good, with a wide selection of fresh fruit, hot breakfast items etc. Had dinner at the hotel every night - and again, the chefs offer incredible hospitality, and do what they can to accommodate you. It's worth mentioning that the wifi was VERY reliable and fast. Well done to the staff!

The standards at Rainbow Towers have plummeted. Without much attention Wear & tear has taken a toll on the structure. The TV was not working properly, it had a lot of showers. Some gadgets had no plugs and some plugs were not working

Hotel is situated in uniquely beautiful scenic area with rare varied topographical surroundings. Quiet and non-intrusive internal and external rooms and lounging areas. The gym is modest but well equipped for a good workout.
The staff are cheerful, professional and courteous.
We found our room fresh, clean, pleasant and smartly furnished.
Breakfast is an unforgettable and rare experience which I can recommend to anyone who values etiquette and finesse that gives comfort and perfection as a dining experience.
Other meals offered Rare fresh food from Starters to Main meal and dessert. Staff and service in dining area is perfect.
This Hotel offers the best at all levels of experience and we have had a unique and rare experience from the moment we arrived to our last minute of departure. Thank you very much.

My son booked this hotel as a birthday surprise. The room as advertised on your website stated that it was a luxury room with a lounge. That is what we paid for. We were then informed that the details on Experdia are for an executive room and not a luxury room and therefore they had no obligations to offer a part refund to meet the lower standard room. To top it of we had been placed in a standard room and had to complain before being moved to what they called a luxury room. Quite disappointed on both fronts - false advertising by expedia and poor service by Rainbow towers as the itinerary as focumented on the confirmation documents was not honored.

Unfortunately Harare is rather run-down, especially compared with when I was last ther at teh same hotel in 2000. Both US$ and local currency are in short supply, so paying for things outside the hotel in places that do not take international credit cards is difficult. However, the hotel was busy and they are doing a great job with what they have.

Arrive at night it look nice. Front desk staff not very friendly or welcoming no info given about the hotel.
Room looked smart but went straight to bed.
In the morning the dirt in the room was apparent, dust on furniture and skirtings, chipped furniture, sliding doors of cupboard badly scratched etc.
The vanity area and bath had all been spray painted an ochre colour yuck!
Had to get somewhere and asked directions which were given by a porter - wrong direction.
The chairs in the lobby and particularly breakfast area look like been gnawed by a dog. The lift doors very dirty with spill stains
As an ex hotel inspector this hotel would fail all inspections overseas. Def should not be advertised as a 5 star hotel - somewhere around 2 star

We stayed two nights at Rainbow Towers Hotel in August 2018.Hotel is close to the city, only few minutes walk. Accommodation is very nice but they could do more upgrades and make it modern.
There is no access for a wheel chair to the swimming pool by ramps.
However, I was pleased with the stay and service, comfortable room. Staff provided me with a great service,wonderful staff at Rainbow Towers Hotel.

Was on a 2 day business trip. Cafe was great. The room had a pungent smell arising from moist carpets causing a headache. Bathroom shower wasn't working.
Other than that the staff were wonderful and the coffee was among the best at the cafe.

Hotel should be downgraded to 3 star. Reception service, amenities and state of the hotel are a sad joke. Waiting times for lift up to 30 minutes unacceptable. Interrupted WiFi and slow reactions to any requests make a business stay almost impossible.

This hotel had its “hay day” is dated, it’s almost endearing how they try to make it “a nice place”
We considered to have dinner at their buffet but decided not to have dinner. Empty trays sitting there, kids sticking their hands, nothing looked appealing.
