A Magical Stay at Kronberg Schlosshotel

Staying at Kronberg Schlosshotel was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I’d stepped into a fairy tale. The castle itself is breathtaking — impeccably preserved, rich with history, and filled with elegant details that make every corner feel special.

The staff were exceptional: warm, professional, and genuinely eager to make the stay perfect. Every request was handled with grace and attention to detail. My room was stunning, beautifully furnished with a blend of historic charm and modern comfort, and the grounds were an absolute dream to explore.

Breakfast and dining were a highlight — delicious, beautifully presented, and served in unforgettable surroundings. Whether relaxing in the gardens, enjoying a quiet moment in the library, or simply soaking in the atmosphere, the entire experience felt luxurious and serene.

Kronberg Schlosshotel is more than a hotel — it’s an experience. I can’t recommend it highly enough and can’t wait to return. An easy five stars! 🌟

Hotel is just as beautiful as it was 50 years ago! Beds are hard and hot water was a little difficult to keep hot. The bar menu and sitting fireside in the lobby are better options than the formal restaurant (closed Mondays). Breakfast is also much better than the formal restaurant. Perfect for golfers or anyone who wants the feeling of being a guest at someone's home with old world charm. Pet friendly as well.

I had the kind of experience here that you remember for years. My room was spacious and elegant, with just the right blend of historic charm and modern comfort. The staff was extremely welcoming and kind. Breakfast was outstanding, served in a dining hall that made me feel like royalty. If you’re looking for something more memorable than a typical hotel, this place delivers. Peaceful, atmospheric, and absolutely magical!! Already planning my trip back!

This historic palace of empress Victoria is beyond exceptional. The grounds were pristine with trees from all over the world. The palace is full of oil paintings, stained glass and exquisitely carved furniture.
The rooms were spacious with very comfortable beds, a two person bathtub and music in the bathroom.
The staff were so kind... they recognized it was my birthday based on my passport and sent a fruit tray and wine to my room.

My husband and I stayed here for a night about three weeks ago for our honeymoon. The staff was very friendly and we did not expect to have a bellhop helped deliver our luggage to our room, which was amazing! The castle itself of course is beautiful, feels like a museum almost if you walk and explore each level. Our only complaint was that we thought there was a free shuttle bus that took us to the airport, instead we had to order a taxi which was a bit pricey. However, we appreciate the great service from the staff, and look forward to staying here again sometime in the future!

This is one of my favorite places to stay in Germany. It's a beautiful palace, built for an actual queen. The rooms are all unique and well furnished. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are large. Each room I've stayed in has a delightful large bathtub. Breakfast is delicious and served in an elegant dining room. Dinner in the restaurant is marvelous and also served in an elegant dining room or on the beautiful back terrace. The staff are efficient and friendly and knowledgeable and kind. The entire experience was joyful. My girlfriend felt like a princess. I plan to return to this hotel, and I highly recommend it to others. They have a Porsche available to rent, a very cool experience if you enjoy driving. The gardens around the hotel, especially the rose garden, are magnificent. The golf course that surrounds the hotel isn't run by the hotel and is highly exclusive. If you're not an accredited golfer, they won't let you play, or even use the driving range, even if you're a hotel guest. Not being able to golf was the only negative aspect of our time at this hotel. Next time I'll call the golf course in advance to avoid any unexpected problems. Overall, this hotel is amazing and I give it my highest recommendation.

Although it is far from the old city, it is a perfect accommodation for a night. It felt like I was in an old castle, and it was an anniversary, and I was grateful for the congratulatory drinks and fruit gifts. The staff is kind and car parking is convenient.

Loved our stay and the room was amazing! Loved the interior design and the castle interior itself was a delight to admire. If only we didn’t have a tight schedule we would’ve definitely stayed 2 more nights. Complementary drinks were very good and speakers in the bathroom was amazing. The bed was so comfortable we slept so well. The only thing is the wifi isn’t strong so it wasn’t convenient to contact reception you had to keep going down. Also please update your hotel entrance on google because it was completely incorrect pointing us to the back entrance of the property which was locked and had no idea how to access it until a local saw us with luggages and offered to drop us off. The next day when we left the uber driver had the same issue not knowing how to access the property because google pointed him where we were initially dropped off at the back of the property so the bell man had to direct him. Otherwise our stay was fantastic!

Unacceptable and Humiliating Experience

We had an extremely upsetting and humiliating experience during our recent stay. After arriving and seeing a dessert cart unattended in the hallway (with other guests were enjoying the desserts) our children took a few cakes, thinking it was self-service. Suddenly, a man—later identified as the bar manager—rushed over, aggressively took the cakes from us, and threw them in the trash. He spoke rudely and ignored my husband’s question about how we could pay. He just gave us a harsh warning this was not self service.There was no signage on the cart, and we had no way to know the setup wasn’t self-service.
While this individual later came to apologize, his tone was condescending and dismissive after we reported it to front desk. He insisted that we broke the rules by pointing to signage at the hotel entrance. The sign through our translation app only says generic welcome message. When i asked for his manager, he said he is the manager and no one else above him we could talk to. He also said he only talked to my husband not me which directly put me into panic attack.
Two other managers later came to our room to offer complimentary drinks and dinner, which we appreciated—but unfortunately it didn’t undo the damage. Later on in the evening i felt heart pain.
To make matters worse, we believe our treatment may have been racially biased. As an Asian family, we felt singled out and humiliated in a way that seemed rooted in more than just a misunderstanding.

Staying in the castle hotel was amazing. Staff were all professional and showed an interest in our comfort and making our stay as good as possible. The castle/hotel grounds were lovely. Only thing I would say was a little challenging was the AC. We ended up sleeping with the window open to cool the room effectively. No biggie!! Thank you for an amazing stay!! Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

It’s a nice hotel but the service at the outdoor cafe was lacking, I had to hunt for waiters as none stayed there full time. Also I was given a small room even though I had paid for a larger room on Expedia though I’m not sure if that was Expedia’s misleading marketing or a mistake of the front desk. I never bothered to question it as I was staying for only one night. Overall, a nice and pleasant hotel though.

Had a great time exploring the castle and the grounds. The lobby is amazing and the outdoor patio is great for getting a drink. The transportation to the gym was my favorite, just tell the front desk you want to go and they’ll call a taxi to take you. Get the card for the taxi service from the hotel that way the gym can call a taxi for you back to the hotel

My dreams of staying in a castle shattered. All the way from Australia to stay in this 5 star hotel was shocking. Firstly i have found bookings from these sites you get the worse rooms. Aircon didnt work and our room was excessively hot and bathroom was like a sauna. We went to liunge to have a coffee, we asked twice to get service which never came. After an hour we drove into town to get coffee and dinner, didnt want to risk having dinner there since we couldnt get a coffee. Wifi didnt work nor did the tv have any channels working that were non German. First fan delivered didnt work, blades inserted back the front. 2nd fan didnt work and third fan finally worked. Finall had our room and fan to ourselves at 10.30 pm! There was a wedding and music was thumping through to late into the evening. Not the relaxing, luxurious i was expecting. I was absolutely heart broken, sleep deprived and could not wait to get out of there.

Simply the BEST. So far this property is the best one I ever stayed in Europe. Very clean, elegant and luxurious. Hotel staffs were great. You can get millions of pictures in this hotel. It is like you are a time traveller. As for breakfast, it was unbelievably great. There were all the options you can name it. Everything was very fresh and top notch quality. The hotel is well decorated, staff very attentive and resolutive. Rooms are good size. Big bathroom with bathtub and shower. Bed and pillows comfortables. We have an issue with the air conditioning that did not work and the days have been very hot outside so was difficult to sleep at night. We 2 only 2 night but the problem wasn’t resolved. We had dinner at the main restaurant and was delicious and well served. Overall it’s a beautiful place to spend a couple of days far away from the noisy city.

Very disorganized overall and frankly disappointing. The entire castle was booked for a wedding and another entire event - however, none of this was communicated when we reserved the room. As a result, they only had one tiny terrace that could fit a max of 25-30 people for the entire castle guests. This was a surprise \"gift\" discovered at check-in when we booked the room 4 MONTHS in advance. No communication whatsoever to guests of the hotel beforehand that probably would have chosen another hotel to avoid the drama and lack of services.

The entire day was filled with miscommunication between oh no the terrace is closed, actually it is open, the bar is closed, no it's open, actually it's definitely closed... but you have the lobby, though. Guests were confused and waiting for menus for 30 min with no communication from anyone. Some kept asking for a table to eat their food. Strangers sat together in the same seating because there was no room anywhere...

They had all their staff focus on the wedding and event and only had one waitress on the terrace for everyone else. So basically, paying hotel guests were left wandering, confused, stuck, and overall with subpar service for a 5-star.

Overall, we've been to many 5 star hotels, and this was definitely the worst experience we've had. You will be paying almost $400 a night for NO. No restaurant, no bar, no full hotel access, no communication, no pretzel at 7:15 pm, no coffee in room, no turn down service, and no library.

I love castle hotels and at Schlosshotel Kronberg I felt like in heaven. The place is full of history, filled with marvellous antiques and gorgeous decorative items and the park with the rose garden are a delight. Breakfast is served in one of their beautiful dining rooms and it was very good.

We started our day 1 trip in this hotel, it was a pleasant stay. Should’ve stayed more days to explore the rose garden and do the hiking. The room is beautiful and big, with the atmosphere of castle, this price is worth to experience staying in a castle. We had dinner at bar and breakfast at the restaurant. Great food and service. The reception is nice and professional. Highly recommend! I’ll definitely go back again!

The rooms are perhaps a little dated, however that doesn't detract from the overall experience. The grounds are stunning - make sure you take a long walk and see things like the rose garden.

Oh my! This was by far the best time my son (7years) and I had in Germany. Staying at this castle will live on in our memories forever. There is so much history to this place that any of the staff can tell you about. The staff were amazing and treated us like royals. So many halls and stairs to explore and corners to read books. We read some Harry Potter and felt like we were at Hogwarts waiting for our dark arts lesson to begin.

It was a lovely. Staying in a historic castle was a genuinely unique experience. The front desk staff was excellent. We loved the main drawing room with the fireplace where you could have drinks, however seating was limited and we were only able to get a seat once in 3 days on our last evening. The other bar/ lounge called Jimmy’s had very limited hours and was being utilized the day we arrived for a private function. Breakfast was very expensive and so we ate out each morning.
We had dinner the first evening in the main dining room and the service was exemplary but the prices are ridiculously expensive and portions very tiny. I think it would be nice if they could offer an alternative dining option. We did find a couple of good restaurants in nearby towns.

It was just different, the experience, staying in a palace. But, was was really noticeable was the friendliness and willingness to help from all the staff we encountered. It was a pleasurable experience.

The Staff were wonderful. The ladies at the reception did beyond their duty.
The waitting staff at the lobby food service were excellent.
The downside of my 3 night trip was restaurant was closed all three nights . Sunday had a pre booked bbq. Monday and Tuesday's the restaurant is closed so i found the food choice was limited.
It would have been nice to have tea and coffee service in the rooms.
Lastly my room was beautiful but the bathroom was outdated and needed repair as my licked.
