Very lovely hotel. We enjoyed the relaxing pool / spa area. The tunnels underneath the residences were great to not have to go out into the cold to get to the main building and spa.

The Falkenstein Grand is one of the best locations I have ever stayed at (we have traveled extensively all over Europe). Family friendly and the property has one of the best views overlooking Frankfurt. We felt we were entering a fairy tale of how beautiful the surroundings and hotel is. The food is great and if your family (ours was a family of 5) is into relaxing, hiking and exploring then this is the place to stay! The staff is the best and very accommodating including the management. Car is a must as this is a pretty remote area. We will be back for long stay at this location in the future and explore more of the wood trails and castles and forts behind the hotel. I give it 5 diamonds!

Great hotel, not handicap friendly

The hotel is beautiful. The surrounding areas does not have much to do except hiking. The bad thing about this hotel is that it’s not handicap accessible. It seems that throughout Europe accessibility is not a main priority too many stairs not enough elevators.

We stayed for two nights recently. The rooms were a little tired (but was clean) and unfortunately there was no air con in our room. The staff however were excellent and the food for dinner and breakfast was very good. The views over Frankfurt are stunning.

Beautiful and relaxing.

Simply the most courteous staff and professional hospitality I have received at any hotel. The room was clean, modern, and very welcoming. The view of nearby Falkenstein Castle is stunning and the town that surrounds this location is beautiful and peacefully quiet. My wife and I were truly impressed by each detail and every effort made by the staff to make us feel at home. I will absolutely be staying here again!

Very good Hotel with a laid back luxury flair. Partly dated when staying in one of the smaller single bed rooms but extremely spacious when staying in one of the apartment suits. Great breakfast and great premises. Spa is ok-ish but mich better than anything to be found around north of Frankfurt and more than sufficient for a business and weekend trip

Nice place to stay

This is a lovely hotel, with enormous rooms, a nice pool, and fabulous terrace. Most of the staff was very gracious and eager to help— while a couple of the younger employees had a bit to learn... We enjoyed a lovely dinner on the terrace, and an afternoon swim. We were upgraded to a giant room! Only drawbacks were very slow Wi-Fi, and outdated electrical in the rooms— would have been nice to have a charger station and a iPhone speaker. But overall a wonderful stay.

Wonderful place to stay. My family spent 3 nights here after a busy two week trip through Italy then Germany. Very relaxing way to end our vacation. My kids thought the included buffet breakfast was the best of all the places we stayed. From the excellent views from our balcony, to the pool, to the evening turn down service, we all felt very spoiled here. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying in this area.

Nice hotel and wonderful location, allowing you to walk in the Taunus hills pretty much right from when you exit the hotel.
Good service overall, except for breakfast. (Breakfast service was quite slow and on our final day, the tea water only lukewarm. Presumably, the reason was that throughout the weekend we stayed there, they had more visitors than expected. Staff tried hard to make up for it.)
The spa area is nice, if a touch small. (There is one, quite small, Finish sauna and one 60-65 degree bio sauna few people used, leading to the Finish sauna to get fairly crowded at times; a steam room would have been nice.)
The gym is in a different building, accessible through a fairly long, underground pathway. For a hotel in this category, the cardio equipment is a little limited and well-worn.
The bar and the hotel park are very nice indeed.

Sorry its been 3 months since we stayed there but I have been busy!
It was our 40th anniversary and the staff was OUTSTANDING!
While it does cost a bit more but the service and ambiance are worth it!
The concierge was GREAT as I had some car rental issues that were resolved with their kind assistance. Its a GREAT little town away from the hustle and bustle!
HIGHLY recommend this hotel and ask for room 4209

Fantastic place to stay

Great hotel in a gorgeous location. Staff is very courteous and it’s a short drive to Frankfurt for business meetings. Only issues are that the breakfast buffet is pricey at 32 euros, my king size bed only came with twin comforters (I asked), and the WiFi is glacial in speed. Those reasons prevented me from giving a lower score on comfort.

My reservation was for 3 superior rooms. Upon arrival, they told me that they upgraded me to apartment rooms. After seeing the rooms which were in a separate building, I refused their upgrades as the apt's were smelly and too big for me. I demanded that they give me my reservation rooms. They said that these are the superior rooms. I showed them a pic from my Orbitz reservation. They said that they don't post pictures and the pic was for a deluxe room with a view and they will give it an extra €50/room/night. After talking to the duty manager, I had to accept as I was tired driving 5 hours from Amsterdam. They made me an extra €100/night for the 3 rooms.

Very nice but could use a couple of updates

This is a historic hotel that was originally a psychiatric hospital. It is beautifully decorated inside and it has lovely gardens with view of Frankfurt. The staff is helpful and the onsite restaurants are nice. The conference facilities are well tended with coffee and snacks throughout your business meetings. The only thing I didn’t like is the interior of the room which could use some updates. The beds are small and have only one pillow and only one comforter (no sheets!). The comforter is tiny and it doesn’t feel like you are covered the same way you would be in a typical bed. The power outlets could be better organized. Overall it is too “vintage”.

The spa seems pretty good. The restaurant is very good and excellent cuisine. But the service was slow!

Got the hotel using points from Expedia's VIP coupon and stayed a couple nights in a suite with the full intention of hanging out and relaxing. Staff was great. Room was comfortable. Pool was a little on the small side, but didn't get much use so we were ok. Sauna was nice. The Jacuzzi was nice, but it was inside, would have been better outside or in the sauna area.

Saw reviews about a lack of A/C, but we definitely had A/C, just needed to turn it on which was easy just like a normal A/C thermostat.

View of Frankfurt was surprisingly great.

The dinner was delicious.

The Breakfast had a pretty decent spread, and it is worth getting if included. If not included, I don't think it would be worth €32.

TVs had over 200 channels and an available HDMI port we hooked our laptop up to for movies (bluray/Netflix).

PROS: Beautiful hotel with lots of history. Location is breathtaking. Sits up on a hill overlooking Frankfurt. The Frankfurt skyline is to die for at night. Hotel sits on lots of property, tucked out of the hussle and bussle of Frankfurt. Very peaceful and relaxing. Pool & hot tub overlooking the Frankfurt skyline as well. Room service exceeded expectations. Upon check in, was given the chance to upgrade room to a skyline view room, worth it for €100 more. Large room with A/C that made it seem like it wasn't 100 degrees outside! Bathroom had double sinks with a bathtub/shower combination. Control of all lights in room was in each night stand. Multilingual staff. AMAZING stay, no complaints on my end.

Quirky hotel with below average service

Overall we had an enjoyable stay but that was largely to do with good weather. The hotel was nice but not what I would consider to be 5 star in terms of the level of service provided. There was non-one to help with bags on arrival and the restaurant staff were slow and some were surly. We won't be returning but if you don't mind a quirky level of service it's a nice location if overpriced for what you get.

Thoroughly enjoyed staying here. After arriving very early at the Kempinski we were told that our room wasn't ready. They did however upgrade us to a suite which was fantastic. The only downside to this was the room did not come with tea/ coffee making facilities. Might seem like a small thing, but after a long day it would have been nice to have a cup of something. They did supply us with a kettle, but no cups, tea or coffee was available. Would definitely recommend this hotel. The setting up in the hill over looking Frankfurt and the surrounds combined with the friendliness of the staff made it a most enjoyable short break! I would also highly recommend the local Italian restaurant Fiorento! Best Italian I've had in ages!

The hotel was beautiful, a quiet place with attentive staff and lovely walks through the town and through the woods to see castle ruins and views of Frankfurt city in the distance. It was an excellent stay. They were renovating the restaurant, so we ate on the terrace, which was very good.

Wir haben ein Superior Kingsize Zimmer mit Blick auf die Anlage gebucht. Stattdessen haben wir ein kleineres Zimmer mit Blick nach hinten bekommen. Bei dem Preis Unterschied problematisch. Zudem war die Dusche. Kaputt und hat das Bad unter Wasser gesetzt. Rezeption war nicht bereit die Situation zu klären

Tolles Hotel mit Hund

Wir haben Freunde im Taunus besucht, hatten unseren Hund dabei und bekamen ein tolles grosses Appartment.Ideal für uns und den Hund. Allerdings war der Preis fuer den Hund aufgrund des moderaten Preises fuer den Hund Ok.60 Eur ist schon happig fuer eine Nacht..

Peinture vetuste décoration horrible literie mauvaise qualité et draps ancien.

Aucun charme dans cette vieille demeure.

Pas de valet pour vous accueillir personne pour les bagages ni pour le parking.

Thermostat de la chambre non fonctionnelle et plastique jauni ainsi que le téléphone qui devait dater de plus de 10 ans.

Wifi catastrophique.

Wir haben bzgl. dieser Bewertung lange überlegt, aber wir können diese nicht positiver schreiben.

Wir waren ingesamt schon drei mal im Falkenstein Grand. Zu letzt in 2017. Leider passen Anspruch (Preis) und Realität nicht mehr zusammen. Die Anlage ist in die Jahre gekommen und auch sonst stimmt einiges nicht mehr. Vielleicht als illustratives Beispiel: Als wir in 2017 dort waren haben wir ein Bild unserer Kinder im Spielplatz mit einem neuen Spielzeugbagger gemacht. Der Bagger ist immer noch aber mit nur noch drei Rädern, abgebrochner Schaufel, und verblassten Farben. Andere (und vielleicht relevantere Beispiele): Käse und Wurst beim Buffet haben bereits um 9:00 mächtig geschwitzt und sahen nicht mehr frisch aus, Teppiche in den Fluren sind schmutzig, Zimmerwände fleckig, Küche ohne Besteck/Teller, im Spa um 12:00 vergessen die Sauna anzumachen, etc. Peronal war immer freundlich bemüht (außer vielleicht der Notwendigkeit darauf hinzuweisen, dass wenn man über Expedia bucht man keine Bonvoy Vorteile hat). In der Zusammenfassung, es gibt einfach in der Zwischenzeit bessere Angebote in der Umgebung wo Preis und Leistung zusammenpasst.

Den femte stjerne er falmet en del

Der er ingen tvivl om at dette engang har været et velrenommeret fem stjerners hotel, men en del af dette er med tiden forsvundet. Vi kunne eksempelvis ikke på vores ankomst dag få eg bord til 5 i hotellets restaurant, kun efter tjeneren hastigt skubbede et par borde sammen og klemte en stol ind fir bordenden lykkedes det alligevel. Personalet virkede hektiske, til tider som om de skyndede på én. Da vi kom til morgenmad 2 time før den annoncerede sidste tid, var der flere ting der ikke længere noget tilbage af i buffeten - skuffende til den ekstra pris man betaler for det.

Insgesamt ein schönes Hotel aber leider wurde beim auschecken entdeckt, dass noch eine Socke vom Vorgänger unter dem Bett lag. Zudem war auch der Pool nicht beheizt wie angekündigt. Als das beim auschecken erwähnt wurde, wurde beides abgetan und nicht ernst genommen. Schade das ein eigentlich netter Aufenthalt in den letzten 30 Minuten auf einer so negativen Note enden musste.

Prachtig gelegen hotel. Mooie en luxe kamers. Perfecte kok voor het avondeten. Niet alle personeel even gastvrij. Gelukkig hadden we een top ober in de avond waardoor we erg tevreden zijn, anders hadden we gezegd jammer van de robots.
Hond meenemen kost 60 euro per verblijf.

Leider nicht im Haupthaus, im Nebengebäude im hohen 2ten Stock ohne Aufzug!
dafür große Suite !! mit Küche,
aber zb Tassen passten nicht unter die kleine Kaffemaschine, Zucker aber keine Rühr-Löffel.
kein Frühstück möglich-auch nicht auf dem Zimmer!
stattdessen Tasche mit Apfel und Joghurt. Tasche war wertvoller als der Inhalt,
In anderen Hotels gabs in dieser Zeit Listen mit Restaurants die ins Hotel liefern.
Kein Silver-R. Begrüßung: Wasser, Sekt oä.
Hilfsbereites und gut informiertes Personal..
Ansonsten tolle Lage, tolle Gegend , tolle Aussicht.

Sehr schön gelegenes Hotel. Für ein Luxushotel ziemlich kleiner Wellnessbereich.
Gastronomie sehr mäßig, für das was geboten wird viel zu teuer (sehr kleines, trockenes Schnitzel zu 29 €, Flasche Wasser 10,50 €) überforderte hektische Kellner.
