Great hotel. Terrible customer service.

Website error forced me to pay for my booking twice. I was not able to cancel the reservation and hotels.com would not own up to their mistake and the hotel refused to refund me. Great hotel. Terrible customer service.

Lovely and convenient.

We stayed at Madanis for 3 nights and in particular appreciated the location of the hotel, it is a few minutes walk from the metro and has plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The hotel is clean and relatively modern. Would stay here again.

Unpleasantly Hot Stay at Madanis lacking service

Hotel check in was easy, and upon entering the room, it was quite hot, and attempting to turn on the Air Conditioning, but it did not function at all. I called down to the front desk to resolve this, and they shortly sent someone up, he checked it and stated he would have to fix it the next day.

The room was horribly hot all night, and as I was only on the 2nd floor opening the window was also very loud during certain hours due to car and foot traffic.

The next day the AC was NOT fixed and stayed in non-functional condition.

The room is small, and mine had stains on the carpet, and the shower only had half a barrier, and you must be very careful not to flood your bathroom. I asked a housekeeper for 4 towels, but she seemed reluctant to give me more than 2.

The breakfast buffet is pretty good. Although I did have an experience where I was going to take empty coffee cups to drink my medicinal teas before leaving for work. The attendant of the buffet told me I in no way allowed to bring the cups out of the room, although there was over 70 cups unused stacked at the coffee machine in a eating hall which seats less than 20 people. His solution was to have themes bring me a cup, although I did not have time for this and did not see my solution as problematic in any way.

The location is good with nearby supermarkets, restaurants and cafes and great for Barcelona fan as the stadium is near too. I am staying in room 605 and the water supply for the shower head at times become very small near impossible to bathe. That is the only thing I dislike.

the hotel is perfect form cleanliness, spacious rooms and connectivity perspective . 5 mins to Collblanc metro means direct connection to airport (l9) + city center through l5 and others.

rooms are bit on the noisy side with paper walls letting in sounds og things like water , neighbouring rooms a bit too easily.

Ok if you have to stay near Collblanc metro st

We stayed for two nights. Staff were friendly and wifi was okay. However, we were disappointed with the hotel. When entered the room, it had a very strange smell and we had to leave the balcony door open for a while. The room was too dark and not enough lights so we had to leave the bathroom door open to let the lights in. Carpet looked tired so it might explain why. For breakfast, I wished that I had not prepaid for breakfast.

Nice hotel, however parking is not included and no mention of the cost is stated on their website. They claim to have reserved parking for hotel guests. Technically correct but what they don’t tell you is it’s €22 a day. Pretty annoying this isn’t clearly stated. Otherwise a reasonable hotel, shame about the misleading advertising

Good place - I would recommend it to anyone staying int hat area around Camp Nou. Food was good too - the breakfast buffet had quite a few options and a couple of nights a really enjoyed their dinner menu. All in all, a very positive experience.

All about location!

Our family of 4 (children 5 & 7) stayed at Medanis in Nov during Thanksgiving break for 1 night at the end of our trip. We had traveled from Madrid, and are back to Barcelona for 1 night before headed back home.

1. Location was awesome. It was short walk from Metro station, including the L9 line to the airport. It was 2 or 3 stops away from the Sans train station that we came from, and the next day we take L9 to airport. 30 mins metro ride to airport.
2. When booking the room, it states maximum 2 adult and 2 children, can stayed in the same room so I booked it. But at check-in was told the room I booked cannot have more than 3 people?? Anyway, staff was nice and gave us a room at their Medanis apartment rental next door. Didn't try to charge us extra which was nice. But the place, even though it is an apartment is SMALL. 1 room, kitchennette counter, and a sofa bed. There's no room to lay your luggage anywhere.
3. Bed was OK comfortable. Clean.
4. Bathroom was small very small. You have to walk aside to the corner in order to close/open the bathroom door.
5. Cable tv with some English cartoon to entertain kids was nice.
6. Large balcony which is nice. When you look out from the balcony, one can feel like I'm totally immersed with the locals.
7. Safe and convenient area; and it's nice to be away from the touristy area.

Lovely hotel close to Camp Nou

The staff made us feel really welcomed and were helpul with directions and excusions, was able to give us discounts also. Our hotel room overlooked Camp Nou (saw the top tier of the stadium). The hop on and hop off bus was really good for visiting the city and managed to get to the Zoo and Stade de Famillia.
Would defintely stay there again when we go back to Barcelona.

Our stay at the Hotel Madanis was pleasant. The staff was helpful, friendly and professional. The hotel itself was well kept and the rooms clean. The metro was nearby providing easy access to the major tourist attractions. Excellent location if your a futbol fan attending matches just one block away. Overall I would definitely stay at the Hotel Madanis again.

This hotel is in a good location. It is across the road from Camp Nou, a five minute walk. The Metro is also a five minute walk making it easy to get into the centre of Barcelona which takes around 15 minutes. Also very easy to get to from airport. Just take Line 9S (orange line), from terminal to Collblanc. Takes 30 minutes and costs 4.5 Euros. All the staff are friendly and welcoming and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The twin bedded room was spacious with a double size shower. The decor was a little tired and the carpet was stained, however, the bed was very comfortable and overall it was a good experience.

We had a fantastic stay. Access to the Metro is very close to the hotel or local bus stop just outside the hotel. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Barcelona is a city of many faces and is wonderful to explore.

They provided me a broom to sweep my room

My girlfriend and I stayed one week in a tiny room in an out of the way hotel. However, neighborhood was safe and there was a close metro station to hop on a train and be in the center within 30 minutes. Friendly staff but room was dirty. Finally, I asked the front desk if someone could visit my room to sweep it. No one showed up so the next day I asked the front desk for a broom which they surprisingly provided. (Room is half carpeted) I swept out my own room and it was clean for the rest of my stay. Didn't seem like a four star hotel to us.

The BREAKFAST wasn't very good, microwaved or raw everything (bacon was raw everyday of 3) Scrambled eggs were floating in liquid, enough to turn your stomach every morning.

Its a great hotel for a couple or if you are traveling for business like I was. breakfast is good, overall condition and comfort of the hotel it self is great. I have also ate dinner at the hotel and I must say that it is great food. If you are staying at his hotel try the dinner at least once, you will not regret it.

Nice 3 star hotel close to Camp Nou

Though advertised on Expedia to be 4 star, it's a 3 star hotel. A nice 3 star, with especially excellent reception staff who were very helpful. The room we booked for 3 people was rather cramped but the staff were very accommodating and soon transferred us to one of the Madanis apartments at no extra charge, as we were staying there for over a week. We did appreciate that and wanted to thank the staff especially Anais at Reception. Very good breakfast. Close to the Metro, and east access to different parts of the city.

I love the balcony over looking the city. I can walk out to the balcony from inside the room and really experience \"living\" in beautiful Barcelona. I can see people rushing to work, taking their kids to school, hanging their clothes to dry over their balconies, drinking coffee and eating meals, etc. Just a wonderful experience.
The room is a little small but adequately sized with all necessary amenities. The bathroom and furniture are modern and very clean. Location is only a bus hop away from all attractions. Staff is so nice and wonderful and very helpful. Would definitely come back again.

The hotel staff are extremely nice and helpful with scheduling activities directions when navigating the city. The hotel accommodations are average. I would agree with previous reviews that this is NOT a 4-star hotel, maybe 3. I stayed in hotel for 2 weeks during the summer and it was hot. The first room I was placed in had mold in the shower and the air conditioning didn't work well. I was changed to a second room which was much cleaner but still the air conditioning system did not keep the room cool. I was moved to a 3rd room which was clean and the air conditioner worked well. If you plan to visit in the summer time I would make a request for a room where the air conditioner is cooler. After my issues were addressed, overall a nice stay. Good location. The breakfast buffet was good but not worth 11 Euro. There is also the express breakfast for 4 Euro that includes coffee, juice, croussaint.

Hidden gem!

We stayed 3 nights here. The staff are all helpful!! The nearest tube station is a few minutes walk to the central Barcelona. There are local restaurants nearby too. (*We went to the centre of the tourist area and the food wasn't good but cost a lot..)

The room is small but enough to enjoy the facilities. (Ex cleaners come to the room every day change the towels. The shower is powerful and there is a bathtub.)
Every staff is really helpful and showed us where to go. If you are a massive football fan, there is the BFC stadium a few minutes walk too!

All in all, this is a lovely small hotel just outside of Barcelona and we loved it!

Hotel is only a few minutes walk to the nou camp in one direction as well as the metro system, line 5 in the other direction. Hotel staff are warm and friendly and will assist you with any information.
The bedroom was spacious with a large, comfy bed. Lots of complimentary toiletries left everyday which was nice.
Stayed for 5 nights and will definitely return.

Nice hotel located conveniently

Madanis is located very close to Camp Nou - the FC Barcelona home. It's also conveniently close to metro station and bus routes. So it's quite close to the exhibition and trade fair locations as well as convenient to go to all main tourist attractions like La Rambla and Parc Guell. And its accessible by the Airport Metro - easy walking distance from the nearest metro station.
The room is comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the main road. Standard fittings. Well maintained and cleaned daily.
Service is polite and efficient with all queries being promptly attended to. Wi-fi speed also good and well connected in the room as well as all over the hotel and closeby.
Breakfast was the only meal I had and the buffet was well stocked with full range that one can expect.
Thus overall a very satisfying experience and I recommend this to any budget traveller without any inhibitions.

Had a lovely 3 nights here, had a few minor problems which were not dealt with by staff . Kettle not working properly in room. Only one bath towel on two days. Also had problem with no milk tea bags in room but this was rectified . Room was quite small and the carpet very worn with a few stains but the room was spotlessly clean. Balcony very small we were in room 605, it would also be very dangerous for children as there was a gap on the balcony that a young child could fit through. I would stay here again as the location was excellent for camp nou, tour buses and metro, a bit on the expensive side,

My Multi-tasking Barcelona Hotel

This hotel is a wondeful alternative for Barcelona. Besides being close to Camp Nou, it is very accessible and near the L5 Collblanc Metro Station and the L9. If you're tired and want to stay near the hotel, it has several great value options within walking distance.
More importantly, the staff is superb.

The Hotel location is perfect if you are staying just one night after watching Barcelona play.
The rooms are not soundproof so, the noise from the main road is very loud. Not so good if you are staying any longer.
With the exception of one Bar waiter and one receptionist, the rest of the staff had attitude problems verging on
being rude.Specifically one waitress in particular in the Breakfast dining room.
Comments heard were oh dear the Spanish are not very friendly are they.

Would of been nice if the receptionist would of told us of their breakfast offer at check-in rather than finding out the next morning that we could of gotten it cheaper at check-in. Other than that l, I can't complain. It's a 15 minute walk to plaza mayor not bad if you're planning on walking anyway.

We came for a short break with our 9 month old son. The staff very helpful and accommodating. The room was clean and the hotel was able to provide a cot and kettle. It was a little cramped for the 3 of us and the cot in the room but otherwise the room would be a comfortable size. The hotel is close to the metro and main bus lines making it really easy to get around the city. Overall it was a really nice stay.

The hotel was great, the staff was excellent. The only exception is that I called my second day there (I stayed 4 days) to ask if the refreshments in the fridge were complimentary and they said yes. I asked again to assure and again they said yes. Well come checkout time they charged me the drinks. I told them that I had called to ask and that they told me they were complementary and they nicely said no that's not the case. I was in disbelief that they charged me. Other than that the stay was great.

Nice hotel, accessible by transit from airport

The room was large and bed was very comfortable. I traveled from the airport to the hotel entirely by shuttle and metro/subway in a little under an hour, but you can also take a cab for 30-40 euros depending on the time of day. The hotel is in a part of Barcelona that is not super touristy, which I really liked, and they make some delicious coffee with their breakfast. I was in the second building, which meant the hotel restaurant was actually around the corner from me, but I think you can request which building you want to stay in...it might be something to look into if you don't want to go outside before having your morning coffee ;)

Great location to FCB and the Metro. When we checked in early on Nov 6th, the front desk person was very friendly and helpful. We were on the executive 6th floor and coffee and tea were never replenished until we ask. We even had to empty the common coffee machine on two occasions.

We arrived quite late in the night but were made to feel welcome by the hotel reception staff and were given a full an in depth brief on all the vital info required. The biggest bonus we found was that all the reflection staff spoke fluent English and were very helpful at all times. Our apartment was cozy and had all the amenties required and they all worked. We were very close to the Camp Nou FC Barcelona stadium((approx 500m) and within 2 min walking distance of the nearest Metro Station Collblanc. I would definitely reccomend this hotel/apartments as they tick all the boxes and more.

Perfect for Nu Camp

Booked barca v athletico and booked this hotel really in a rush. Very reasonable price but the location was fantastic. 2 minute walk to the ground. Rooms were lovely. Ask for the 6th floor as they are the executive rooms. Local bars were heaving as you would expect for the game. Great!. Taxi or metro needed though to get to La Rambla as it's a few miles away but no issue! Will go here again for another game.

Upon arrival we were instantly greeted by the friendly receptionist who spoke very good English. She informed us of everything we needed to know and was very helpful. Upon entering the room we were very pleased with it. It was extremely clean and tidy and had a large walk in shower which included towels, shampoo and shower gel. Anything else we needed to know was written clearly in a booklet left on the table. Every night I had a good night sleep as the bed was very comfortable.

We only had two issues with the stay and one of them could have been disastrous. Firstly the air con was not working the first night. We were told it would be fixed and it was working by the next day. The second issue was that on the second full day in Barcelona the door to our room had been left on the latch. I can only guess that this was the cleaner and the door could have potentiallybeen left open about 9 hours. Thankfully nothing had been stolen and nobody appeared to have entered the room.

Checking out was by noon which was later than other places I have stayed but meant no rush for us and they kindly looked after our luggage for the rest of the afternoon free of charge.

Overall a very good stay and I would happily stay again.

Great Location & Friendly Service

The Hotel Madanis is a great hotel for those looking to stay a little outside of the main areas such as Las Ramblas. The reception is a little small, however the staff were very friendly and spoke very good English. I stayed in a double room which had two single beds pushed together - not an issue as I was staying in the room by myself. The room was clean and the bathroom was big. I went for the weekend to watch Barcelona FC play at the Camp Nou and this hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the stadium - perfect location. What I liked most about it is that after the match, you have a short walk back to the hotel, where you can take time to freshen up before heading out again once the football crowd on the metro has subsided. Metro in Barcelona is so easy to use. All the self service ticket machines have numerous languages which was a big help! A two day metro pass cost 14 euros and that allows unlimited travel from the moment the metro opens at 5am to the time it closes at midnight. Las Ramblas is the main 'strip' in Barcelona with a lot of atmosphere, bars, restaurants, shops, etc. It is about a 10 minute metro jouney. There are numerous metro stops all around the city. Once you have your bearings then you'll be able to travel anywhere with ease and without worry. Barcelona is a beautiful city and i would definetly return to the Hotel Madanis. The rates, staff and location were excellent - I couldn't have asked for anything else.

Good hotel for Convention Center

Originally we were put in a TINY room, but we were moved into their apartments (with an up charge). European hotels are just different than US size hotels I am used to. However, I ALWAYS book with Hotels.com because they have amazing customer service no matter what any hotels service is.

Hotel near to the Nou Camp.

Had booked a twin room at the last minute. On checking in were given an apartment with a balcony. Three doors down from the main buildings.
Overall it was good, had more space to relax but missed change of towels etc. The concierge was very good.
Cannot comment on the facilities in the hotel as did not use them. but the apartment was clean and had more than we needed.

Modern hotel near soccer stadium

This was a clean, modern hotel next to the Collblanc metro station for convenient access to the rest of Barcelona. Our room had a balcony with a nice view of the Camp Nou (the FC Barcelona soccer stadium). The hotel met expectations for a 4-star (european) hotel, and the staff were friendly and spoke English well.

Wonderful hotel

We had a wonderful stay here. The room was plenty big enough, the bed was extremely comfortable and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. So close to the football stadium we were glad we weren't there when FC Barcelona were playing at home as we felt it could get quite noisy but overall a lovely hotel close to the metro and all the sights

I stayed here on business, so I needed to be in the location. I got a great deal and was really surprised by the quality of the hotel for the money I paid. Really comfortable room, free wifi, reasonably priced breakfast. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

Not a good customer service

I had a Very bad experience with my futbol tickets delivery. As per the agency the tickets were delivered at the Hotel but they were lost, misplaced or delivered to the wrong person. The truth is that I could not get to the game and the acttitude of the front desk personnel was not Very cooperative and empathic about the problem, althought they might be responsible for the loss of the tickets. After this experience I doubt that I will book this hotel again.

Fantastic hotel for nue camp Barcelona football

Fantastic location for new camp Barcelona football.stayed her with my son for the Real Madrid game in October 2012, Stadium is minutes walk away.
Hotel very clean and staff very helpful, would definitely stay again.
It is a 20 euro taxi ride from the beach and bars but it has easy access to
Metro and buses that cost much less.

Modern and great value for money

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Mandanis. Its a little out from the main plaza but the buses are just out the front with the metro being a two minute walk to the station and very easy to use. The hotel rooms are large and very modern and fantastic value for money. We initially booked the Mandanis for a big Barcelona football match and found it exceptionally located, just a two minute walk to the Camp Nou gate!! We would definitely come back again. The only negative was that the rooms could be better sound proofed internally. You couldn't hear any external noise such as vehicle traffic or foot traffic but you could here internal noises such as people talking and toilets flushing in the room next door. Other than that we loved the hotel!

Nice hotel, but nothing special

The Hotel itself was clean and the staff (although we didn't see many) were friendly. The hotel is a good location for visiting Camp Nou, but not a great location for the main tourist areas (although the tubes are very straightforward to use). Remember the tubes stop running at midnight, we didn't know this and had to get a taxi home one night.
