Nice stay w/ a shaking elevator

Stay was clean and nice. Location is convenient since it is close to the subway. The one downside is that the elevator shakes a lot when I used it. I used it twice and it shakes heavily both times. After the second time, I just walk up and down the stairs since I didn’t feel safe. Besides that, everything was good.

I loved the stay. Morning buffet was worth and perfect with lot of options. Transportation was quite close to the hotel. I loved my big room with a separate dining area but unfortunately I couldn't use it as I always get late to the room and it was too cold by the evening.

Lovely area but the hotel was chopped up around the neighborhood and the phones didn't work so we had to walk around a whole city block to get to the front desk for help. The receptionists were EXCELLENT. Wish the rooms were more conveniently situated. No coffee maker in the room.

I lked the breakfast,the fact that the Metro was just a 2 minutes away and also the Charter supermaket, and Mcdonalds.
I did not like the fact that there was no kettle for me to boil water to drink tea, I was told the coffee machine was somewhere but it was not convenient.

Having the restaurant at from and access to the rooms behind is a bit confusing (especially when tired). But would stay again! It is a little out the way of the \"tourist\" area though!

Hotel Madanis

Our four days at hotel Madanis was nothing,however,comfortable and pleasant as our room 312 was nice,clean room although it would have been better if we had mini fridge or tea/coffee making facility which was in the hallway of second floor which we found out later on. Hotel staffs were nice,and helpful as checked in was smooth and their offer of 50% off for breakfast during the stay was definitely bonus.
Location of hotel was great also as it's was literary outside the metro and there are plenty of restaurants,shops nearby which was very convenient.Only takes 20 mimutes or so to get to center by metro also.
I would definitely stay there again especially if they will be offering 50% off breakfast as I thought 11 euro would be bit too much in my opinion.

Windows were did not have proper curtains; people could see you through. Not big at all, even the lobby is not what they show you on website only two parking and pay 22$ a night car park. But like 2-4mnt from Camp Nou. But I will recomend if you are not in a hurry rent close las Ramblas in the center! Then taxis are available 24 hours even the metro and buses are not available. But walking away from the camp you may find taxis faster .

I really liked how polite the staff was and the condition of the room. We were able to check in right away after arrival from our flight. The location was great as the purpose of my visit was to visit camp nou. One thing that could improve are amenities. They say breakfast but there was no breakfast at the time.

I stayed for 5 nights in Sep 2019.

Pros:
Great location, right outside Collblanc metro station. This station can get you quickly to either the airport (L9S) or central Barcelona (L5).
Note that the check-in area and restaurant is at the opposite corner of the block.
The restaurant (La Medusa) is excellent.
The room decor was very new and clean. There was a safe, which was nice.

Cons:
My room was too dark near the desk, making it difficult to read/write there. I would suggest adding either a portable or ceiling lamp there.
No fridge was available in the room.
No spare blanket was available in the room - the A/C was a bit too strong and it aimed directly at the bed.
The shower design is strange - it is hard to prevent water from splashing out onto the washroom floor.
There is a bit of black stuff accumulating on the shower walls - not sure if it was dust or mould (there was not that much and I did not want to touch it).
The sound proofing is poor - it is easy to hear sounds from both the hallway and the street outside.

Lovely beautiful and comfortable. Friendly helpful staff. Matteo has been very helpful. Even though we have shared bathroom even than it was much better than other Ibis hotels we have stayed. Only thing need improving is shower area has little mould. Other than that neat clean comfortable. Very nice filling breakfast. Its only 8 to 10 minutes away from metro stop for Venice. Definitely would recommend.

Split site Hotel

Ended up in an annex around the corner from the main hotel which while not the end of the world for only 2 nights it certainly wasn't clear when booking that this would be the case. Room was basic but clean as was the bathroom. Breakfast was in the other hotel building around the corner and was fine. The staff I met were polite and helpful. The hotel is right next to the metro with a direct 30 minute journey to the airport - Line L9. Convenient for Barcelona's stadium as well - 10 minutes.

I would never go back to this hotel again. The rooms look dingy, have bad lighting and the bed sheets look old and dirty. The bathrooms are very outdated and unequipped with normal fixtures like something as simple as a soap dish in the shower. The blow dryers are very antiquated and didn’t work properly. Luckily we spent very little time in the room because we were busy out in the town.

The Hotel AC is very terrible, it barely can make the air cold. Its more a fan than an AC, I had a bad sleep quality because of the humid weather there, and the AC was not able to cope with that. And btw, we had to shut off the lights, as they were generating heat!! so the room was almost dark.

Room is very small than what is shown in pics, also the room has no view at all.

They do not replenish the coffee compared to all the hotels that I've been in before. and room house keeping is not professional.

The review they had on expedia do not match the reality. Hotel general condition is old and not well maintained, I seen many visitors complaining and arguing with the receptionists there because of the bad facility condition.

Asked to pay extra money for no reason

Experiance was great room was very clean and tidy but the issue i have is with staff not knowing how to deal with the guest. I booked the double bed room for two peole and in the notes i specially mentioned that i will be having another person with me. But when i get to the hotel I was told i have to pay extra money as i have extra guest i told them about it that its in my notes as well that i would have 2nd person why didnt you reply my email and say that i have to pay extra. My guest had to stay somewhere else as we were harraesed for the money. Even on the day of checkout I had an argument with the girl on reception regarding second guest and pay 20 euro extra but I explained them the situation but she was not listening to me at all. After all i told them the second guest had to stay somewhere else then they knock off the 20 euros.
Disgusting service and put me off of this hotel in the future.

Stayed 2 nights here, was convenient to the metro so easy to travel anywhere in the city and getting to the airport was so simple , had a early morning flight left at 5 am and at airport 25 mins later.Hotel staff were very friendly and check in and out was fast . Room was comfortable all you need for a trip to the city , I’d definitely Stay here any time in Barcelona . It’s just a short walk to the nou camp

Fab location, perfect access to metro and city

Great location, 100 metres from L9sud (airport) and L3 metro. Just a wonderful double
bed, a desk, closet and top quality shower. Everything you could wish for to enjoy
barcelona. Easy walk to university and the football stadium. Great Peru ceviche tapas
restaurant on the block. Simple, clean, friendly, helpful. Highly recommended for simple
travelers. There are two locations of it, a block apart.

The hotel was easy to find as it is right next to the metro which you can get from the airport. Check in was quick, informative and welcoming. I recieved loads of information about where to go in the city.
My room was in a seperate part of the the block which was a 2 min walk around the corner, which wasint an issue. The room has a phone, so if i needed anything i was ok. In my experience, being in a hotel with a bar entices people to be noisy.
The room was clean, well presented and had all toiletries, towels etc. A kettle is not provided so that would be nice to have in the room.
I only had one evening meal at the hotel, but the food was wonderfully cooked and nicely presented. The barman was friendly, talkative (even with limited english) and approachable. Rooms could be cleaned every day if you wanted to, i had my \"do not disturb\" sign on the door. The cleaners put a note under the door letting me know they acknowledged it and i needed anything to call the cleaning staff which was a nice touch.
The metro takes you straight into the city centre which takes about 15 mins. 5/10 min walk up to Barcelona FC stadium and you have a santander bank, mcdonalds, small supermarket and a few places to eat within minutes of the hotel.
I had a lovely stay from comfortable bed, good shower and friendly staff. I would reccomend the hotel.

Great location for Camp Nou

Decent enough hotel and perfect if you want to visit the Camp Nou football stadium. The rooms are a bit on the small side but fine for a short stay. The metro station is just a minute away, with just a 15 min journey into central. The stadium is 5 mins walk away, just around the corner. There are lots of local shops where you can buy drinks, fruit and snacks very cheaply before you head out for the day. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was okay, though you had to frequently prompt for dishes in the buffet to be topped up.

Spend a week here with a friend, really close to Collblanc metro station so can get everywhere super cheap and easily. It also is next to a bus stop which takes you right to the beach. The hotel itself was very clean - fresh bedsheets every day and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. There are plenty of super markets and fresh fruit stalls around so don't have to eat out every day and it is quite nice to live somewhere not in the tourist central - could not have chosen a better hotel! Seriously recommend.

Great Hotel near Camp Nou

Stayed 3 nights. Staff were very helpful. It's a 1min walk from a Metro station so you can get around the city easily.

The metro station is on the main line from the Airport so getting to and from the airport is easy. It's also walking distance from Camp Nou so if you're in Barcelona to see a game this is a great hotel to stay at.

Hotel of Discomfort!

Arrived late due to flight delay. Address took us to a back alley where we had to speak through an intercom only to be told we still had to go completely around the block with all of our large luggage over cobblestones to be able to check-in at the main lobby. To get to our room...we had to take our luggage back around the block, climb a flight of stairs to get to our room. The hotel employees did help us with this. Tired and needing a hot shower, we only had luke-warm water. We had ordered through the main desk a taxi for 6:45 am but when we pushed our luggage back down the stairs and around the block, we found it hadn't been ordered and would take another 10 min. to arrive. We were told by hotel staff that a taxi to/from airport was 25 uros, but really was 35 euros. Glad to be gone for a better day!!

Steps away from the subway

The staff were so friendly and helpful! They made sure we were all set up and good to go. The room was a good size, and we had a nice view of the street outside (we enjoy that sort of view). The entrance to the Collblanc subway station was literally 10 seconds outside of the door as well, which was incredibly helpful.

The bathroom was all redone and nicely modern, and the decor was inviting too. Overall we had a fantastic time at this hotel and it was a wonderful stay.

Very good hotel a stones throw away from Metro

Brilliant hotel in my opinion. Staff were friendly and accommodating (except one guy) They all spoke English and helped me with getting around Barcelona and booking tickets for various tours. Breakfast had a good selection and was always topped up. Rooms were cleaned everyday and new towels brought if they were requested. If you stay in the hotel the exit literally comes out onto the Metro. From here you can go anywhere in Barcelona.

Rooms were comfortable and a decent size with all the necessities. Staff were friendly and helpful. One issue is the Wifi. Wasn't powerful enough and it kept cutting out.

Look for a good area, is the most important thing

The real hotel is nice, good area, but this part of the hotel, liceo is call, Is 2 blocks away, it's right across the metro station, but this is a bad neighborhood, dirty, graffiti, people look bad, also the tower liceo has no receptionist, you open the outside locked door and then you go to your room, mine was on the 2nd floor, nothing bad really happened but I wouldn't come back or recommend, the real hotel is good, for the same price or a couple more dollars you can find something better, the girl at the gas station told us that it was bad and there's always people saying their bags were stolen

I was very impressed with this Hotel. Great location for transport, Camp Nou and city tour bus. Staff were so helpful and very courteous. Everything I needed was all within walking distance. 100% service. Room was spotless very spacious/comfortable. if you wish to travel to the city, I fully recommend buying a two day pass on the city tour bus. It takes you to all points of Barcelona. Bus stop at Nou camp. Don't waste your money on city transport. This bus has it all..... Certainly made my visit so much easier.

People smoking in the rooms

A night before my depart my room was full of smoke, someone was smoking and the air conditioning tubes spreaded the smell. A clerk realized that. But when I went to talk with the manager director she refused to give any compensation. I'm going to put a claim, besides do not recommend this place.
They don't care about their guest, not only the bad smell, but the security of the place.
Now I'm in Barcelona in another hotel.

Ideal For Our Purpose

We went to Barcelona mainly to take a 9 year old to see Barcelona play a game and to take the Camp Nou tour. The hotel is ideally located for anyone doing that as it is only a pleasant 5 minute walk to the Camp Nou. There is also a Metro station (Collblanc) a few metres away. In the immediate vicinity there are numerous restaurants. We visited some of them during our stay and found all of them highly satisfactory.

Everything was good, in a nice quiet area of the city, not many attractions near it. Close to a subway station, making it easy to get around. Staff was good with english, which is a big challenge in spain if you need help.

Nice hotel but...

Nice, clean hotel but a few gripes:
- you wouldn't swing a cat in the rooms
- the walls are paper thin so you can hear all of your neighbours
- the wifi was appalling - terrible signal strength and too slow, avoid if you're hoping to get some work done

right across the street is the metro station

very conveniently located because it is cheaper than staying in downtown and across the street is the metro station. you do not have to walk far. the hotel room is small but decent. the bathroom in the room i stayed in had a poor seal on the shower door. so every time you shower you flood the whole bathroom. the internet inside the rooms are almost nonexistent, so you have to go to the lobby to use the free internet.

excellent staff, right at FC Brcelonabike Camp Nou stadium, bike rental on site to tour the city, right on the bus routes, would highly recommend especially for those travelers who prefer less touristy surroundings and want a feel for life in Barcelona

Nothing good to say

Calling this a 4Star hotel is an extreme exaggeration.
We started with complaint about clogged drain in shower and sink. 3 approaches to staff did not yield results.
The biggest challenge to overcome was on 2 occasions being surprised by staff opening our door without even knocking once. On a side note, Front desk told us that all the stores are closed on Sunday - which luckily we didn't listen to because in the tourist areas (near the Barcelona Cathedral) many stores were open with lots of action and people.
Couldn't get connection to Wi-Fi from our room the first night. Then, it was complicated to reactivate it each time we returned to the room.
Frondesk was unpleasant and provided incorrect information regarding airport transportation.
Server at breakfast was the only staff member that seemed to have had the correct attitude towards those people who are called guests.
As we booked through Expedia, cashier at hotel claimed she could not give us a receipt.
I realize this review is not good, but I decided to share my thoughts anyways as I learned to trust public reviews, and a review such as this one can be a wake up call for the hotel to make changes and improvements. By the way, the other 3 hotels which we stayed at during our 3 week vacation in Spain all received perfect reviews!

Close to Camp Nou

Very enjoyable hotel in a good location. We walked everywhere from this hotel. Or if you prefer, the metro stop is right near by. Comfortable room at a very reasonable rate. Restaurants are nearby. I would stay here again.

Brilliant!

I booked this hotel as a surprise for my partners 30th Birthday - Arrived and I will admit, expected it to be the Hotel Madanis and not the Liceo; however, our room was nice and big enough for the two of us, we had lovely breakfast's at the Hotel Madanis which was a 1 minute walk around the corner from the Hotel Madanis Liceo. The metro is accross the road which is easy access to most places!
The tour of camp nou was amazing and the staff at the hotel we extreamly helpful and friendly.
We would stay there again.

No nonsense comfortable stay

Staff were not particularly welcoming and we felt that they only reluctantly helped us with directions for example. The room decor was nice and was very clean, which is all we wanted.

Great hotel

There are two sides of this hotel. We stayed in the second side that has an entrance on the opposite side of the building of the concierge. It was nice. We came here for a soccer game and it was a 5 minute walk to camp nou. Everything was clean. The hotel staff were friendly. It was a good little hotel for a few days.
