We stayed at the grand Hyatt for a total of 4 nights. We were extremely impressed with the cleanliness and modern decor of the hotel. The staff at reception were extremely friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. They acknowledged multiple special occasions we were celebrating aswell as giving us a complementary late checkout and our room was ready promptly upon arrival. The spa was amazing, however it was slightly pricey considering we were hotel residents ( 40 euros pp for one hr and a half ). We would not recommend the rooftop bar, which we visited on two occasions during our stay. The first night we arrived they told us last orders had already passed and the staff were laughing amongst themselves whilst telling us this even though the opening hrs stated otherwise. On the second visit we were extremely disappointed as we were seated and waited 15 mins whilst watching staff socialise and smoke with guests at the table next to us. We made eye contact multiple times to ensure they knew we were there and ready to order, they proceeded to ignore that we were there and when we left to walk out after being ignored for so long the staff once again just watched us leave and laugh amongst themselves. We were incredibly disappointed and would not recommend the rooftop bar for future guests.

Our stay at Grand Hyatt Barcelona was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful , considerate and extremely professional. The room was spotless, modern,comfortable, and beautifully maintained. We were especially impressed by the attention to detail and the calm, welcoming atmosphere throughout the hotel. Everything felt well-organized and thoughtfully designed for guests. Roof Bar and restaurant is very impressive- shame we didn’t have enough time!

Overall, Star Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, great service, and an enjoyable stay. We will definitely be coming back!

One criticism I have is that except for daytime when curtains are fully open, the room itself is dark even with all the lights on. The main light in bathroom is not bright enough either. Other than that it is a beautiful hotel.

Nice hotel, comfortable room and kind staff but it came with issues from checking into a room that was occupied , door keys consistently not working and when don’t disturb sign was on still knocking on door by housekeeping and maintenance checking if room refrigerators were still cooling. Even after asking front desk to alert staff to be sensitive when sign is on. But all in all a pleasant stay , perhaps not a 5 star stay but a strong 4.5 stay

Was a family vacation with my daughter. Property better set up for couples or business travel. Mostly 1 bed rooms. We did get one with a kind and a twin. Bath room set up is shower stall, toilet stall and double sink all side by side on place to change privately after shower. Selected property in part as it said in door pool. Turned out that’s is part of the spa and not just available for use free with renting a room.

I love this place! Everyone was so courteous and friendly. Ate at all their restaurants during my stay, food was amazing and so delicious! The spa was amazing as well, the massage was great but I feel awful cause I can remember her name, she is from Morocco, what a great service!! Paola checked me in and out, she was so kind, very sweet and helped me so much! Would definitely stay here again.

Omg!! I stayed just one night and found myself wishing i was staying longer. From the moment I was checked into this beautiful spotless hotel, i understood why its the Grand Hyatt.
The facilities were spotless and although I was too tired to use the club/roof bar on my one night stay, i knew it would have been great.
My room was styled chic and modern with everything to make you comfortable and when i checked out at 12 noon, i was able to store my luggage to go out and explore the city.
Now the staff!! You all should be proud of yourselves because the standard of courtesy was first class, i felt like a princess lol.
When next I come into town, i'm definitely heading back here and this time for much longer. Thank you for a wonderful night stay.

Overall we loved our time in Barcelona and at the Grand Hyatt. Minor niggles let things down. Firstly, it’s nicely located - we took the metro from the airport and walked the 15 mins from the end of the line to the hotel. Getting a taxi for that bit would also have been easy as it’s a major route. We were very early but no issues doing the check in process and leaving bags and they called when then room was ready. It’s an easy journey from Maria Cristina into the city centre on L3 green metro line, as well as by taxi which queue outside. We also got the open top tour bus on one day which was great and stopped round the corner. There’s a lovely collection of cafes 2 mins walk away as well as Cort Inglés department store with lovely rooftop cafe 10 mins walk away. It’s really well located for FC Barcelonas Camp Nou, though that’s currently being refurbished so only the museum is there, not matches.

The Sofia tapas bar is lovely - great selection of drinks and wonderful tapas, though a limited range. Staff were all really friendly - concierges and bar staff. We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment. One note - the indoor spa pool cannot be used by children which isn’t obvious, and the outdoor pool was closed for winter which while we expected was a bit crazy given the weather was still lovely.

My minor gripes: Our TV was stuck on and couldn’t be used or even turned off. There’s also a bit of trim in the corridor held on by tape - not a 5* look.

The hotel was super modern and the rooms were really well planned-out and clean. Very comfy pillows! The reviews said it was in a great, central, location. But we really enjoyed the Gothic Quarter the most which was a taxi ride away (about 20 mins), so that's more down to our preference really. There aren't a tonne of things to do right near the hotel so most things involved a taxi. Overall a really good stay though, and if you're looking for somewhere plush a little out of the hustle and bustle, I would recommend this hotel without a doubt.

We stayed for 4 nights at this hotel. Its out of the centre and close to the underground station. This means it is quiet and peaceful at night but easy enough to travel to the city centre. It was about a 5 minute walk, we got the 5 day unlimited travel card that enabled up to get around result. The rooms are well equipped and the bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds we've ever slept in.
Staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was decent and there was lots of choice for all people.
The pool area was nice and the loungers were comfortable, it wasn't busy as it's not a sit around the pool kind of hotel.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would use it again.

Very misleading description around this property's facilities.

They tell you about the outdoor swimming pool closed from October onwards but my biggest issue is they don't tell you all the indoor pool facilities falls under the spa part.

This is a chargeable cost at 40 Euros for 90 mins per person if I had of known this I would not of chosen this hotel.

I get that spas are a upchargable item but the indoor pool should be separate like any other hotel.

A beautiful hotel with stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. The rooftop restaurant and bar, Maymanta, is a must-visit. The only downside was that the outdoor pool wasn’t heated, so my 8-year-old couldn’t enjoy it, and the indoor pool was reserved for the spa, with no access for children. It was not a kid-friendly facility.

The rooms were stark and high tech. Lights controlled by motion at night and when either of us got out of bed the room was lit up.
The restaurant hostess for the breakfast buffet did not explain that the majority of food was in another section.
We sat forever until we finally asked a waitress to wait on us. The bellman at the front door completely ignored my wife who was standing there to ask for a taxi to go to the airport.
Will not use Grand Hyatt again.

It was within walking distance to public transport which was extremely convenient for us and the spa in the hotel was unbelievable, making the trip memorable. The room exceeded all expectations, a large comfortable bed, a small seating area, a desk, his and hers sinks, a huge shower and separate toilet.

The hotel staff were friendly, accomodating and helpful in all interactions with them offering us a slightly later checkout FOC due to our flight being later.

The swimming pool was picturesque, and provided a relaxing area to enjoy the sun away from the hustle of the city and the gym had plenty of equipment to get a good workout.

The only minor negative was that the location was slightly further away from the areas we wanted to spend time in. That's on us though, and did not takeaway from the hotel itself.

Overall an excellent experience.

Such a nice property. I want to come back only because of that. A guys name that starts with Mama that had been there for 8 years gave me great advise of the property and answered all my questions however they sent me the wrong room service order and claimed that the pizza I wanted wasnt on the menu even though it was clearly printed online. They did not give me a bottle opener leaving me to open a glass bottle with a knife. That itself made it feel like a 3 or 4 star property at most. I gave them euro cash for the order and told them I would be paying cash euro. I can only assume they took it as a perseived \"tip\". When checking out they told me my room service order was never paid. I was upset and this makes me weary to book here again as I love barcelona and went to Ibiza, Ushuaia as an amazing experience during my trip. Arguably #1 club in the world for house music. So long story short I double paid for room service at a 5 star hotel. I've worked for Marriott many years ago at a JW and this kind of service is unheard of. I did not feel any extra touch that was typical for a 5 star property besides the baggage handlers which were helpful and checking in was smoothe.

The property puts employees in a tricky situation where despite their intention to make things better they can’t. GR Florencia was outstanding and made it a better experience. I do feel bad for her having to fix managements oversights.

What doesn’t work: they charge £40+ to use the spa which is baffling especially when it rains, rooms are dated with wet area wood bubbling up and taps running a bit wild. In the room instead of water they offer water coolers/taps but they don’t work, dispensing warm water instead of cold and making noise, rooms have a stale smell - I stayed in room 614 maybe it was just my room. Shower water really smelled of chlorine as well.

On my last day when waiting by the pool to go to the airport, they gave us 10 minutes to get out because of an event without an apology or a fair warning at 4ish pm instead of 8 - and the employee kicking us all out was quite rude. The bar wasn’t open and the €17 glass of cava (!!! Not champagne or anything) I ordered was initially served flat by room service attendant and I had to ask for a new glass. This was a really negative end of my experience and I can confidently say I’ll never be back to this hotel. There are much nicer hotels at a similar price point that have much nicer service.

What worked:
Beds were comfy, the upstairs bar was nice, and the pool bar employees were lovely, as were guest service teams including concierge.

It’s a shame for the team who clearly try hard to make up for management mistakes.

Located a 5min walk from Maria Christina metro station allowing you access to all parts of Barcelona via a very clean and efficient subway system. Across the street from the hotel there are at least 5 different cafes where you will have a choice of sandwiches and excellent pastries at a very reasonable price.
