As an International hotel, the front desk is difficult to communicate in English. The shower holder is high not good for Asia. The tile below the shower glass door is accident prone as per photo. Inconvenient to supermarket or fast food restaurants

I’ve stayed at this Hotel since last year and in each visit the consistency in quality of service and the staff’s willingness to help me in any way possible has broken my expectations.

The hotel is located close to all major locations and outlets,

Rooms are clean and spacious for the price,
The breakfast could use some variety but overall filling and delicious,

The staffs are great, they’ve helped me on many occasions such as Steve and Oji helped me with recommending and helping me with making reservations at great local restaurant, once again Oji has helped me with rearranging my flight ticket when it was suddenly cancelled and arranging a taxi to the airport on a short notice, He was a life savior.

I would highly recommend this hotel who’s looking for excellent service for decent price.

Think twice before book

1)Room Air conditioner blower noisy and no wind upon checkin. Maintenance guy confirmed but unable to repair, only the next day. Front desk called and informed me that aircon is unserviceable and hotel will provide FAN for the time being. Manage to change room after argued with him. 2) book hotel shuttle service with front desk. Upon checkout, there is no record of my booking. The reason is that the guy I inform is NEW! She had no choice but book a street taxi which is run down but cost MNT100, 000!

The hotel is correct although the rooms are bit outdated and would need to be refreshed. The bathroom has been refurbished recently and is good. The staff speaks excellent English and is being very helpful.
The gym facility is well equiped; no swimming pool available.
The restaurant at the 5th floor is good; the breakfast is OK if you like asian type breakfast. You'll be disappointed if you'after a continental breakfast.
The bar/restaurant at the 17th floor is very nice and offers a nice view on the city. Their list of cocktails is however limited and they don't serve what's not on the menu...
No airconditioning in the room. I was there beginning of June, which is a hot period, and the room temperature was really high (25-26deg).

Convenient with comfortable room.

I had stay at this hotel for many times. As I am arriving on weekend I am not bothering our company agent to pick me up and he had arrange with the hotel shuttle (chargeable). Due to the hotel INTERNAL communication, nobody pick me up. After calling hotel and take a taxi to hotel, the hotel front desk willing to pay for my taxi fare and billed into the room that save my trouble to change local currency. Since it is the hotel mistake and live up to their reputation, They apologise and provide the free airport shuttle during departure. The breakfast menu had not much changes since I stay here years ago. Also the breakfast choices of food depends who is the chef of the day. The food not completely ready at breakfast time so do not be the first to go.

The reception team were excellent. My suitcase went to China instead of Mongolia. The lady at reception ( Erica) contacted the airports in China and Mongolia to track it. Furthermore, as the airport did not deliver my suitcase to the hotel, the lady, very kindly, went to the airport to pick up my suitcase, and delivered it to me on her day off. It was amazing, as I could get on with all my meetings.

Mixed Bag

The Ramada Ulaanbaatar was a mixed bag. The room was clean and modern, and the shower was very good. Massages are really affordable ($25/60 minutes).

However, although we requested a non-smoking room we were given a smoking room (as evidenced by the ashtray). This meant we were on a smoking floor, which, in turn, meant that smoke would come into our room via the air vents. We had to turn off the ac and open the windows to dilute the smoke, which was problematic because it was so noisy outside (even though we were on the 9th floor) all night long. When we mentioned the smoking problem to the front desk, they didn't appear to understand what we were saying, or at any rate, they didn't suggest any solutions or even apologize.

The breakfast buffet was extensive, but the staff put all the food out as soon as the buffet opened and didn't replenish it. When we went at the tail end of the breakfast window, the food was cold, dry, or gone.

All in all, I'd recommend this hotel but with a couple of serious reservations.

Albeit this hotel was more then adequate and for sure I would recommend it to anyone... the truth is, on that day, myself and my travel mates had just been out on the Mongolian grasslands for a week... and we were all ill and suffering from mild heat stroke... So at that point, pretty much anything with a shower and clean bed would have sufficed. But, all that aside, it was fine, and the location is good... not far from many nice places to eat.

I stayed from Nov.5-15th. I've been staying at Ramada Ulaanbaatar for the last 3 years now. I always liked it. They maintain the good service. rooms looking to north have bathtubs. I wish I knew this beforehand. This year I found out that the rooms looking out to the street have showers whereas the 2 years ago the breakfast was disappointing. Last year they improved the food. This year it was different but okay. The dinner was a different story. They've changed the menu. It looked good but the food was horrible. I've ordered Tsuivan (Mongolian dish) it was really greasy that I had a stomachache later that evening. Ulaanbaatar has so many good restaurants that I would recommend you to go elsewhere for dinner.

Ramada Ulaanbaatar's greatest asset is its staff. Without exception, staff members were friendly and helpful. The location is good, about 15 to 20 mins walk to Sukhbaatar Square. Rooms are well heated and insulated. Internet service is okay to good in the rooms. The breakfast buffet offered a great variety of foods for all tastes.

A very nice hotel in a decent location in UB. As part of my job I have to travel a lot so will definitely stay here again.
The top floor bar was great with a nice atmosphere although the food was nice the restaurant lacked ambience and personality.
Besides this it was a very nice hotel and the customer service could not be faulted

The hotel was OK, bed wasn't too comfy a few broken tiles in the bathroom and the room was ridiculously hot with the a/c being quite poor. That being said it was ok, great buffet breakfast and walking distance to some of the main attractions. I was there for my birthday and they gave me a complimentary fruit basket which was nice.

Location is alright.

Stayed for three days. Hotel is very good for a Ramada Franchise. Extra charge for sauna and steam room areas even though expedia does not mention it. Check the expedia website often as they offer flash sales on this property in UB. Breakfast is a nice touch and hotel seems to be safe.

A great base for a great week in Ulaanbaatar

I spent a week at the Ramada Citycentre while in Ulaanbaatar for a business trip. Rooms are clean and well-furnished and the hotel has a good range of quality facilities (Café JOT, Edge Bar on the rooftop with great views, spa/massage centre).

The hotel is about 1 km along Peace Avenue from Sukhbaatar Square and the Government Palace at the centre of Ulaanbaatar. This was a pleasant walk back to the hotel in the evening and a short MNT 5,000 (~AUD$3) cab ride to Sukhbaatar Square in the morning.

Very good - But hot in winter

The hotel is a typical business-type hotel with good breakfast, nice rooms, and a satisfactory breakfast. I've stayed in several places in UB, and this is my favorite. But it's not perfect. My main complaint is that during winter, they turn on central heating and the room gets too hot. It seems strange that it could be -30 outside, yet I have to open the window to avoid sleeping in a pool of my own sweat (and also let in the foul, smoky smells of UB in winter). To be fair, this is a common problem in UB, but you'd hope they'd solve it at the Ramada. Of the 6 rooms I've had there, only one wasn't too warm. If you're thinking of upgrading to the deluxe or executive rooms, save your money. It's the same room, but with better shampoos and a couple extra coffee packets. The executive room also has one of those fancy butt-cleaning toilets, which I have to admit was pretty nice. Internet works very well, when it's working, pretty good speeds for developing world. It did go out for several hours on my last day in UB, but still worked in the lobby. Location is about 2km from the center, but there are tons of malls and good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Service all around is friendly and efficient and I'll be back.

The hotel was clean and comfortable because it was fairly new. It was a great place to conduct a 2 day business trip. However, the price was on the pricey side considering there are other hotels just as clean and comfortable that business could have been conducted fine as well, but cheaper. All in all I may stay again as its location was more central.

Previously stayed in other hotels as Ramada was one of the more expensive hotels to stay in. The prices came down (only recently?) and immediately booked a room. The hotel is clean with attentive staff. Level 17 pub is great with a beautiful view of UB. Will stay here again for my next visit.

The Ramada UB was clean and well-appointed, with nice rooms, excellent breakfast buffet included, and a great restaurant/bar on the top floor. The best part of the stay was the staff - they were extremely friendly at both reception and the restaurants - even helping out by calling museums to check hours for us, telling taxi drivers where to take up, and writing down a pharmacy request in Mongolian. The only downside is that it's not quite in the city center - it's about a 30 minute walk to Sukhbaatar Square (and not much shorter than that by taxi or bus in UB traffic). Despite that, I'd definitely recommend the Ramada for anyone visiting UB!

Big Corporate attitude in Ulan Bator

After arriving on a very early overnight train in Mongolia, we made our way to the Ramada to drop off our bags and see the city. We were told that a room was available if we'd like to check in ....for half a day's rate. I know it is policy for most American chain hotels to do this but I found it really annoying on the other side of the world where attitudes tend to be a little different. Many hotels in Europe and Asia (even 4 and 5* hotels) allow free early check-in if the room is available. After discussing it we decided to check-in so we could freshen up a little before hitting the sights. I was then told I would have to pay the additional charge up front before checking in! This is despite the fact that I had already paid for the original reservation in advance. To top it all off they even tried to charge me for the early check-in again upon check-out! Breakfast is okay. AC is good. Net is okay. Location is a bit far from tourist attractions

Great UB Oasis

We stayed five nights at the Ramada on two occasions. The staff were excellent, especially in helping with pre-arrival logistics for our trip to Khatgal. There is excellent airport car service. The breakfast buffet and Cafe JOT dining was very good. We enjoyed the Edge lounge on the rooftop for drinks and dining as well. Overall, a great welcoming experience for our first (and not last) visit to Mongolia.

I thought it was an excellent hotel and the staff were friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that it was advertised as being in the heart of the city but was really at one end of the city. It was a good 25 min walk to Sukhabaatar Square, The National Museum Of Mongolia and other main attractions.

Hotel staff is excellent. Breaksfast buffet is very good. However, this hotel is not in what I would consider to be city center. Taxis are not expensive. However, traffic is so bad that you generally have to wait to get a taxi and then it can take forever to get where you are going. Traffic is a problem 7 days a week.

There are some very good things about this hotel. The service was exceptionally good. Minor problems in the room like a blown light bulb were attended to in no more than a minute. The housekeeping was first class, the cleaning in the room was the best I've seen and the bed was very comfortable. Laundry was collected and delivered promptly at a reasonable price for a hotel. (MNT5000 to clean and iron a shirt). Free wifi in the room worked well. On the downside, the fridge in the room was tiny and packed with mini-bar stuff for sale, with no room to put my own things in. This tells me the hotel is more focussed on making money than providing value for money service for the customer.
Service in the vast restaurant and the roof bar was very good. The roof bar (open from 6pm-midnight) was surprisingly well patronised and gives outstanding views across the city. Breakfast was very good with an excellent choice, including omelettes prepared by the chef to order.
Like most places in UB in winter, it was very hot in the room, even with both radiators turned off. Opening the window let in a lot of noise from the \"crazy cross-roads\" below, even on the 11th floor, and opening the window at night let in the UB smoke.
There are some quirks as mentioned in other reviews e.g. the two lifts are uncoordinated and only the right hand lift goes to the bar on the 17th floor. And the room safe wasn't bolted down. Painting round the door frames was quite slap dash and the finish on the doorframes was already becoming delaminated. The bedroom (deluxe) didn't have a wardrobe, something I expect at this price.
I asked reception for a taxi with a meter to go to Sukhbaatar Square. The taxi did not have a meter and the driver wanted MNT10,000. On the way back the same journey in a metered taxi was MNT3,800. I found it disappointing that an international chain hotel fed me into this rip-off. Also when I came to register my Wyndham/Ramada loyalty number, the receptionist told me the hotel isn't part of Ramada yet, even though it's on the Ramada website and the building is plastered with Ramada insignia. The free courtesy airport transfer described in the room documentation didn't exist, it can cost up to USD80.
Overall, despite a few silly niggles, a good hotel - I'd stay again.

Nice Stay Despite Small Problems

The temperatures were low outside. So, we couldn't keep the windows closed at night. With the windows closed it got pretty warm. However, we couldn't turn the AC on. The concierge couldn't help us either. Although the maid cleaned the rooms well, she did not restock toilet paper. We ran out. I am certain we would have received additional rolls of toilet paper, if we had requested it. For instance, we got a lot of extra coffee sachets.

Despite all the above (negative) comments, it was a great place to stay. The breakfast was great, the staff were helpful, and the place was clean. The bar upstairs was nice.

Make sure of the details with travel confirmation

-Pre-paid room charge was not recorded at the hotel ,and a big porblem and wasted about 30 mini.for the arguments on my check out( although I showed the pre-paid confirmations to them.)
-The room was with shower, In case of no bathtub, should be specified on the confirmation sheet.
-A lightning on bed didn't work, informed to the hotel but in vain.
-Operation of TV set was complicated and the quality was not great.

front desk helpful with taxis and lost items. Assistant manager arranged for our 7 day tour arround Mongolia within 48 hours; tickets to Mongolian symphony orchestra and taxis. Would rate it a 5 except that they charged us for getting into the room early (although it was already made up) and tacked on $20. per day for breakfasts, because we had 2 as opposed to 1 person using the room. No notice of this novelty was given when we booked the room (for 2 people).

Staff were very helpful and I would recommend the hotel to any family/friends visiting Ulaanbaatar.

Best service in Ulaan Baatar

We were a family of 3, mom and 2 older kids doing a bit of exotic travel. prior to. Our stay we did not reserve any driver or ger camps because they were priced too high. The hotel receptionists were very helpful to us. They called around and arranged a driver with some English to take us on our two day travel to the area around Ulaan Baatar. The price was much less than on the internet. All the staff provided quality service. Upon arrival our taxi wanted to charge us 50.00 and the bell captain convinced him to give us back our money. We only paid 30.00. They did not want to see others take advantage ofs us. (we did take an official taxi from the airport...I just couldn't make him use the meter). The rooms were modern and had all of the technical amenities, such as wide scene TV, music and Internet. In fact, they even came up to our room when we couldn't figure out the WiFi on our new iPad. The 2 drawbacks for us were: 1). We wanted a rollaway and they do not have those. Although for most travelers this may not be a problem. 2). The first room we had smelled strongly of smoke even though it was non-smoking floor. The hotel did offer to change rooms for us,so the problem was addressed and solved. Overall, the staff at this hotel was so friendly and helpful that they are part of the good memories of the friendly Mongolian people.

this is one of the best hotel in the city, another one is kempinski, according to local guide, kempinski is better. location is ok but kempinski is closer to the downtown.

this small tiny hotel is clean and staff are friendly and helpful, but never expect any taxi in front of the hotel. I hired a car with driver for usd100/day, this may be the best way in mongolia

Ramada City Centre - Ulan Baataar

Whilst the 'City Centre' in the name is not strictly correct (it's a 10-15 minute drive to Sukhbaatar Square depending on traffic), the hotel is still close to all that there is to do in the city and some of the attractions, like the State Department Store are easily in walking distance. To be fair, even Sukhbaatar Square would be a pleasant walk in temperatures other than -15C.

The staff are friendly and efficient and from check-in to check-out, the service was excellent.

The room that I chose was a little small, only having one chair (or the bed) to sit on, so I would upgrade myself to a suite next time. Wi-fi internet was complimentary and the speed was more than acceptable.

The bed was extremely comfortable, the room warm and in-room amenities were everything that one would expect.

For me, one of the great reliefs was that any time I picked up the 'phone to ask a question or place an order, there was an English speaking voice on the other end - very comforting and frustration free.

That being said, one thing I would urge is to clearly say what time you want in-room breakfast so that you don't get (a) a 'phone call at 0700 to ask what time you want breakfast - even after having ticked the box on the order form and (b) have breakfast delivered at 0850 when you ordered it for 1000. This was one small glitch in an otherwise pleasant stay.

The Edge Bar on the 17th Floor is worth a visit. The staff were pleasant and there is a wide range of choice.

We took taxis on a few occasions and the staff were very helpful in ordering one for us and ensuring that it was there on time.

Overall, a good experience, helping me to ease into my first trip to 'UB' and I would certainly stay again.

Nice stay

* Bedroom : nice, small but cosy. A bit too warm without the possibility of setting up the temperature (other than opening the window).
* Bed : ok
* Bathroom : shower, no bathtube, well decorated, pleasant, very nice & soft towels
* Reception staff : speaks perfect English
* Restaurant on 5th floor : not good and too expensive. Prefer some other place.
* Breakfast : average
* Place : about 15 min' walk to Sukbataar place
Overall a very nice stay

Dreadful hotel

breakfast virtually inedible
sky bar not open
air conditioning blows air, but not cold air.
windows don't open, if they did the fumes woudl kill you,
heating on 24 hoursa day, cannot be switched off.
result was i had to sleep on the floor under the aird coming from the aircon vent, this was not cool air but it provided a breeze at least.hotel tried to charge us for early check in $50, room was ready and vacant but thought they could charge this as check in is not until 2pm.
Poor location of hotel too.
nowhere to get a coffee after dinner as lobby lounge closed.
Room TV system very complicated to work out.

Buona struttura, migliore rispetto ad altre prenotate da familiari. Buona pulizia delle camere e nel contesto le stesse di buona qualità. Addetti alla reception molto disponibili per il ceck-in anticipato e nel cambio della camera per aggiunta di un nuovo ospite. Buona anche la colazione, sebbene pagata per tre notti ma usufruite tutte.
