Lotsa was very very helpful. It was our 47th anniversary and Lutaa and Ogda were very helpful in making it a pleasant occasion.

Also miss Bambi in the dining room was very pleasant and helpful. The food was okay but could use some improvement to be up to the kempinski intl five star standard.

Excellent service, and communication.We asked for transportation for our late flight into UB and were promptly serviced with a friendly driver from the hotel who was waiting for us. Very friendly and professional staff, always ready to assist and provide info on places. The spa is great with a wonderful masseuse and we used it twice, would have used it more if we had time, great price and service. Breakfast is also good and convenient, and the small coffee shop also has a breakfast option. Location wise, it's about 20-30 min walking to the center, museums, etc. Excellent service overall and would definitely stay again.

Easy check in. Friendly and welcoming reception staff. Spacious twin room, tea/coffee in the room with extras supplied when requested. Bath and shower in bathroom and a loo that did everything but cook the dinner! Good quality bed linen and great comfy pillows.

Negative - flex not long enough for the hair dryer to see into a mirror. Needs addressing.

Did not eat there but had a take away breakfast from the coffee shop. Presented in a box and was lovely.

Near plenty of shops and restaurants. Walkable to key sights. Easy for guides to pick up from.

A home away from home in Ulanbaatar. First, kudos to the wonderful staff. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I was welcomed warmly (and by name) often. The front desk set me up with a great driver and guide for a day outside the city at a very reasonable price. Service at breakfast was incredible. Even though it is a buffet, they still check on you frequently and bring you special juice blends and other treats. Food at the restaurants is very good overall. My room was large and comfortable. I had to do some work while I was there, and WiFi worked fast and well. Great bathroom. Loved the Japanese toilet. I probably should give five stars, but I didn't love the pillows. Also, the location, on the eastern edge of the rectangle that defines the City Center means the hotel is a little bit far from some of the attractions. UB is a very walkable city, but the hotel's location adds about 30 (mostly easy) minutes each way to every exploration. Overall, though, I was super happy with the Kempinski. They work hard to make you happy, and I was happy.

Signature Mongolian hospitality. On all my trips to UB, I’ve never thought of staying any place else. This hotel has everything I need…location, friendliness, comfort, and the staff even remembers my name. Unparalleled Mongolian hospitality

This is my third stay at the Kempinski! Beyond excellent service will keep me coming back. Comfortable, quiet, and friendly. Three little details stick out: 1) remembering my name (even the doorman!), 2) Having a to-go coffee and breakfast waiting at our 6:00am departure, and 3) three individuals helping me for 25 minutes with an eSIM glitch on my phone. Room size was nice. Hotel Staff and Restaurant needs training. Definitely not 5-stars...closer to 3 stars with the quality of restaurant and Waiters/Waitresses often getting wrong orders. Very disappointing. Room cleaning staff was very good. This is at best 3 stars and thus the rates is correct...but do not say it's 5 stars with great rates.

Great location in UB, close enough to shopping, restaurants. We ate at the restaurant for dinner and it was quite good. Breakfast was excellent at the hotel. Rooms are comfortable and spacious although by today’s standards a bit dated. That did not concern us in the least … but bathroom are updated. We would recommend staying at the Kempinski.

When we checked in I asked if breakfast was included. The clerk at the front desk said it was. Next morning we went down to breakfast and only after we had got our food (buffet) did they tell me it was not included which was an additional $25 a person.

Great Service, Breakfast is fantastic and the various amenities and mix of restaurants helps with variety. The Lundry service is phenomenal. There was nothing I can think of that lacked in this experience. I was there for 8 days, and it was delightful.

The Kempinski Hotel Khan Palace is a solid place to stay. It is one of two five star hotels in Ulaanbaatar, the other being the ShangriLa whose room rates are more than double the price. The Kempinski rooms are old fashioned, but they are large, clean, very functional and the king size bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was also nice and included a Japanese washlet type toilet. The breakfast in the lobby restaurant was outstanding with lots of food choices. Front desk was super helpful and accomodating. Finally, the Japanese sushi restaurant on the second floor was very good! I highly recommend this hotel.

to be honest. I expected more about this stay. maybe the problem is the season. not many guests there so the service was just so so. not many choices for breakfast and at dinner the waitress was not so active. but room is ok. big and comfortable.

First rate hotel in not a great neighborhood.

This hotel is really a class act. The room is designed for comfort, the restaurants are great, breakfast is very nice, staff is friendly and requests for wake up calls, taxis, take-away meals, etc. will be satisfied in meticulous detail. Just don't hang around the neighborhood streets late at night, and avoid the local pubs after hours. Take a taxi to the restaurants and bars around Sukhbaatar Square or the State Department Store instead.

A Kempinski is Always a Guarantee of a Good Stay

I just want to thank all of the staff at the Kempinski for THE BEST stay in Mongolia, everyone was so professional and friendly! I especially want to mention Guillaume Galvez who is doing an EXCELLENT job in the Restaurant and all his staff - The Breakfasts are exceptional! and he is very nice to the guests!
The Staff of the KK Lounge - The Manager and Deputy Manager ( Scottish? and Turkish?) are very friendly and made us feel so welcome. The atmosphere in there is relaxed yet elegant and again the Staff are above and beyond helpful - Special mention to Belit? who is an excellent waiter, very helpful , polite and professional. Honestly having this lovely place to stay for our Trip/ Holiday just made it for us...everyone there was so obliging , right down to the Concierge boys who are also very professional!
We cannot fault anything.....Thank you so much for a wonderful , trouble free stay!

Located at very busy noisy intersection of several streets. Needed to clean clothes but no dry cleaning on weekends. Room ok but not 5 star. Would not recommend for the price.

The Deluxe room was large, but the carpet was not clean enough. There was a constant smell in the room, didn't feel fresh. The concierge gave us wrong information on two occasions. Breakfast is so-so. All in all, an average hotel at a high price for the place. I guess there are limited options in Ulaanbataar, so this may be better than most hotels. The location is a little away from city center, so that is not great either.

Best Choice in Ulaan-Baatar!

There are many choices of hotels in Ulaan-Baatar. I have standardized on using Kempinski because of their locale (near two excellent coffee shops and a great bakery), their spectacular breakfast (can't beat the quality and cost) and the comfort of their rooms. But the clincher for me is their incredible training to be customer focused. When my luggage was lost in Beijing, they relentlessly pursued the airline to deliver my luggage. Being fully engaged in business and not able to spend the hours on the phone (let alone finding a ready Mongolian speaker to assist) - the concierge was able to resolve the issue and get my luggage to the hotel. That for me is priceless and a practical example of what customer-focused service is about. For these reasons, I strongly recommend not looking at all the other choices and choose Kempinski.

A true Five Star Rating

The hotel is centrally located, with plenty of coffee shops, restaraunts and curious shops nearby. It has easy access to the airport as well. But what sets this hotel apart is it's extraordinary service and excellent breakfast. I travel globally and this hotel truly deserves a five star rating.

Local Quality, Slightly Inconvenient Location

The hotel is a fifteen minute walk from the center of town so is a little bit out of the way.
Apart from the desk staff checking five times whether the double bed was correct when I checked in with my partner, the service was warm and friendly.
The décor is a little dated, especially in the common areas and the hotel tends to look a bit 1980s but was very clean and comfortable.
I would certainly stay at this hotel again

Great service; affordable price

This hotel is a bit further down Peace Avenue than Blue Sky or Shangrila and is a bit dated. However, the staff was exceedingly helpful. I asked for water and they put an entire case in my room; they were very attentive and willing to help. Breakfast was also a perfect spread. For any dancers out there, it is also directly across the street from \"Heels & Ties Ballroom\" which has great ballroom/ Latin Dance events. Since this was considerably less than other hotels including breakfast, I would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous staff

Not only is the hotel clean and comfortable but the staff is outstanding! Every one of them go about and beyond for their guests. The staff deserve 5+ stars! If we are in Ulan Bator again, we will definitely stay at the Kempinski Hotel Khan Palace.

Totally unimpressed in Ulaanbaatar

This so-called five-star property failed to impress in any way. It is more two- or three-star at best. It is out of the way [2 km from the center; a 20+ minute walk or slow taxi ride in UB traffic]. My room condition was worn and no more comfortable than any mid-range hotel. The shower stall leaked water all over the bathroom floor even with the door closed. The windows did not block the sound of the partying nearby [after midnight on a weeknight]. The included breakfast was basic; I suspect some of the food was reheated. Staff are officious. I was told that there are no non-smoking rooms above the third floor. Housekeeping tried to open my room despite the \"Do Not Disturb\" sign, and the front desk called me a minute later to ask if I were extending my stay. I confirmed with them that it was not yet checkout time and that I would leave on-time. I switched hotels after one night. After checking out, there was no bellman waiting to help me or get me a taxi. I have stayed at all types of hotels all over the world--over 100 countries now--and I have rarely been so happy to leave.

Fantastic staff

Staff were very nice and considerate. From the front desk to folks in dining room and breakfast buffet my name was always used. Every request was responded to with courtesy and promptness. If they saw something they thought I might need they asked how they could help. Highly recommend this hotel. Room is well stocked and the amenities for the bathroom were the best I had ever seen - and I travel a lot each year.
