The hotel was right beside the old town where we walked everywhere easily and good restaurants and stores were around.
The main problem was extreme small room which was barely enough space for one person, we’re 2 people in the room! We couldn’t move in our bed at night and tried to spend almost all the day time outside the hotel. If we open our luggage, we couldn’t pass the door! Another big problem was no cold water or ice in the hotel! It’s very inconvenient not to have access to cold water and/or fridge during the summer time for a tourist!

The place right when you walk in smells like an old cigar. Very small rooms. I asked for 3 single beds on floor and gave me bunk beds. Not convenient for 3 older women. No space for suitcases. We felt like in college dorm. They tried blaming the confusion on Expedia. Mold in bathroom and it was very small. Breakfast was the worst I’ve ever had. Cereal, bread and coffee was all they had. However, very close to food restaurants and old town but wouldn’t recommend.

This is a basic hotel but was fine for our stay. Bunk beds and no kettle/coffee-maker or mini-fridge. Front desk staff are friendly and the breakfast (additional cost) is good. The location turned out to be good, as it's walkable into old Colmar.

Was ok. Typically budget hotel. Pay for parking over the road in the cinema car park. Mildly disturbing to discover they gave my room key to 2 Chinese blokes. Then my key didn’t work later … but I don’t think I got robbed… not that I know of yet. Time will tell.
Thankfully I didn’t bother with what they call breakfast.

Hotel is right in the centre and next to a big parking lot, where you can pay with an app in the morning. But the pillows are round and fat so you can only sleep in one position. I had to create a self-made pillow out of towels. Also no sound insulation whatsoever.

Our room for 4 people had 4 twin size beds and basically no other room to put bags, etc. WiFi didn’t work at all and the TV remote barely worked. We thought it would be ok considering the price but if you plan to spend any amount of time in your room, I’d look elsewhere. The front desk staff was so kind!

We liked the location of Hotel Primo to the Gare and the Christmas markets. The staff was hospitable and warm. The beds and linens were clean. The breakfast was okay. The downside was the toilet, it was dirty and smelly and definitely needed a good scrubbing, streaks and marks were quite visible which was a total turnoff.

Bad experience. No cold water at all in shower and hot water was boiling hot. Couldn’t take a shower. Beds were flimsy and mattress literally fell down on the side to the floor when I approached the edge to get up. I fell twice. Unbelievable!!! I’ve stayed in small hotel rooms and this one beat them all. BTW staff didn’t seem to be surprised or care when I told them about all this. 😰

The worst hotel I have ever been. Window was broken and the bed was so small and so uncomfortable. We stayed with our 8 mo baby and we asked a room change bc of broken and typed window however we were told the hotel is fully booked until we asked a refund. Then they remembered another room. The price was the cheapest during Christmas time but still not worthy

The hotel is currently being renovated and there were workmen there.
The breakfast was poor and the yogurt had run out one day. Another day the cheese was not replaced until almost too late. The brown bread had run out and was replaced after breakfast was finished. The rooms were tiny although very good value for money. It was mostly service 'without a smile' which was not very welcoming. I am sure it will improve though and the location was fantastic.

Great reception service. The two gentlemen we dealt with (Alexandra was one of them) were so helpful with directions and suggestions of places to visit. We asked so many questions and they answered all with a smile. The area is about 5 minutes walk to the old Town and about 20 minutes walk to little Venice. The bus station is around the corner from the hotel. It's really convenient and I was able to visit Freiburg during a day trip and one of the quaint villages (Kaysersberg) on another day trip. Reception will gladly print out the bus schedules for you. We didn't have a kettle in the room but the hotel reception was happy to boil us water in a kettle whenever we needed it. There is a subway food outlet and a burger outlet right next to the hotel as well as an Italian restaurant opposite the hotel. The room size is perfect for one person but two people can manage fairly well. Towels are changed on a daily basis. It is not possible to walk with your luggage from the train station as it's about a good 20 to 30 minutes walk. However, if you arrive early enough, the bus takes about 5 minutes. It costs around 7 to 8 euros with Uber, however, you may need to wait a good fifteen minutes for Uber otherwise taxis are available. One can walk comfortably to the train station without luggage. The only concern we had was with hot water not being available in the evenings. The water was luke warm. Other than that, it's a decent stay that is clean and affordable with a warm reception.

The greatest asset of this hotel is its staff. I met 4 or 5 of them, and without exception they were most caring, helpful and dedicated to guests. Location is also excellent, at the edge of the old town. Good breakfast buffet.

Perfect for a solo traveler

It was perfect for what I was looking for: somewhere reasonable in Colmar for a night. The room was comfortable, clean, and had a decent tv. The hairdryer cut out when I tried to turn it on, and the elevator was out of service the morning I left, but otherwise everything else was great. Not the cute, romantic hotel some might want in Colmar, but it's perfect for someone who wants to see the town. There are restaurants and a cinema (new releases, but in French) very close.

Most pictures is not correct actually all rooms is 10 times smaller. My son college room which was very small is like 5 star hotel comparing to this hotel. And there are no AC in the hotel. Furniture from Akea kids section. Stay a way and you will do your self a big favor.

A short weekend away in Colmar and the surrounding area. The hotel was an easy 10-15 minute walk from the train station, on the far side of the old town, but very handy to the sights of the town, tourist information, buses to neighbouring villages. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Very close to Unterlinden Museum (under renovation, however) and Dominican Church which is a real gem. Easy to walk to older "cute" part of Colmar. Staff friendly in sort of casual way. Very tiny room, but enough for our purpose (one night and intense touring).
