The room was large but just contained a bed and small closet. Large bathtub and sink in one room and toilet in another. The view out the window was of a lovely small garden and shed. There is a common area in the halls, a patio connected to the restaurant, and an outdoor seating area in the back near the parking lot.

GREAT EXCEPT FOR THE NOISE

the hotel and the room were spotless and the breakfast was fabulous. My bed was comfortable and the room warm.
The problem was with the seeming lack of any sound proofing or insulation- it was incredibly noisy to all hours with people returning to or leaving their rooms' talking in their rooms or showering or flushing the toilets.

A great location for exploring the village of Eguisheim and friendly staff. Food was great - we enjoyed dinner both nights of our stay in the hotel's restaurant. Only negatives - constantly dripping shower head that also would not stay in the upright position and some mould at the bottom of the shower.

The property is within walking distance of center of Eguisheim. The representation of the property and the rooms on Expedia was not accurate. The real rooms are very basic and they do not have Air Conditioning. The shower basically flooded the entire bathroom when used. The building was dark and dingy and they were undergoing electrical work with cables in the hallways.

There is free parking, and it is on the outskirts of the beautiful old city. The staff are friendly and helpful and rooms have full facilities - safe, fridge, good beds. The only thing missing was shampoo in the bathroom - the dispenser soap didn't work that well. Restaurant breakfast is a good buffet.

Everything was really good, including the availability of ample parking space in back of the hotel (you park in front first to register and they give you a code for the parking-lot gate). Plenty of space; new, large bathroom. Only real issue was that the stairs to the upper floor may be problematic for some, as they are narrow and winding.

Right in the city. The restaurant is good and you need to reserve to ensure you have space. Parking in the back after you get the gate code from the office. You can walk this nice little village and enjoy this paradise. Nice outside seating Area to relax after the wine tasting.

I understand there are restrictions on historic buildings but the compromise in the bedroom was too much. Having to search in the night for the pole to open the above head height attic window in order to breath or have the wire of an air con unit doesn’t make for a great night’s sleep. My partner (not tall) banged his head twice on the cut down door entrance to the shower room. Putting in a bath and using the shower area for a proper door would have been a much better treatment. Do not accept Romm 233. There is nowhere to sit and read a book in public area inside. She was asked to bring a menu so I knew what I might want to order to drink but after half an hour I gave up. Restaurant stank of cheese.

Large room, particularly for Europe. Though spare furnishing in the room, the room was spacious and the bed was comfortable with modern look and good linens. Unlike the photos, it looks like they've done a modern update of the rooms. Bathroom was new and modern with a good shower. There was a tiny desk and a decent size if old and worn wardrobe. The staff at the hotel and restaurant were young. The reception person was helpful and spoke some English. We dined at the restaurant at the hotel which was okay but service was not particularly attentive. You may be better off finding another place for dinner. We were there on a Tuesday night and some of the favorite restaurants that we heard were better were closed. They have on-site parking but you have to get a code from the front desk and drive around to the hard to find entrance. There's no elevator so plan to carry your bags up to your room. Overall, a good stay in a very quaint medieval village. The hotel is on the \"Grand Rue\" and close to the center of town so you can walk around to see the shops. Note, the streets are narrow so it's better and easier to walk than drive. Plus there are plenty of wineries that have tasting rooms in town which are a easy walk.

Fantastic hotel but know they have hard beds.

Loved it!! This was a beautiful, charming hotel in a gorgeous town. We loved everything about our stay, other than the bed. It was so hard so that made it difficult to sleep. Very nice experience. For someone who has faced language issues throughout my trip, English speaking staff was a pleasant change. The room was clean and spacious. Food was good although vegetarian options are quite limited.

Be cautious when you are asking for a taxi service from them. The taxi that they hired for me to go to Colmar costed me more than twice the money compared to the one I hired from Colmar to the hotel.

We had such a lovely visit to this quaint, perfect village. We were there for the opening of the Christmas Markets and enjoyed the shopping, food, and mostly the wine! There is a lovely self guided walk to the north of the town through the vineyards that provided great exercize and views! The hotel restaurant had an excellent menu and the private parking was much appreciated. The room was a typical european experience in that it was small with an all in one liquid soap in the bathroom. The location was great and the bed was comfy and the room was regionally decorated and very cute.

Beautiful village of Enguishiem

There are no words to discribe the beauty of the village of Enguisheim. Our hotel was very centrally located within walking distance of restaurants, wine tasting and shopping and had private parking. It had a lovely restaurant but we did not eat there so can't speak for the food. Our room was very nice, just off the outdoor bar but we didn't have any problems with noise. The one drawback was the window was glass block and did not open, but there was a fan in the room.

Good place for a stopover

The village is just stunning. Christmas market a little on the disappointing side as was very small but it made a great stopover for an afternoon. The restaurant at the hotel was the most appealing from comparing menus from other restaurants around the village and it wasn't disappointing. Food was very good and the service was attentive. Would recommend this place as a good stop over if you're those driving through on a long journey. The rooms have baths, perfect for relaxing after a long drive!!

We were only there for one night as we were passing close to Eguisheim on our journey to Italy. My wife had shown me a photograph of the town on the internet, which piqued my interest. Wow! We were not disappointed in either the town or the hotel. Eguisheim itself is absolutely stunning. You need your camera at every corner! La Ferme du Pape Hostellerie reflects everything that the town is; charming, picturesque, with great attention to detail. The hotel parking is totally secure and the staff were most courteous.We want to return in spring or summer. Highly recommended.

We really wanted to stay in town in Eguisheim and this place delivered. It is in a great location and had very affordable rates. The room was large and acceptable. It's tough for this American to get used to the shower being a hand held faucet in the tub but that's my fault. It was a bit odd that the tub was filled with water upon our arrival and the bath mat was wet but that was a minor hiccup overall. We went down for breakfast one morning and even though we were past their serving time the staff brought out a nice assortment of pastries and coffee and juice for us - great service. We would stay here again.

The Hotel is more 2 star rather than 3 .

Incredibly noisy , the ground floor room we had was next to the lift , which didn't help .

However , irrespective of the lift , the walls are paper thin and everything can be heared from above and at the side of your room . The flush of a toilet to the filling of a sink . The hard floors of the Hotel also carry noise into the room .

The rooms are clean but very dated , very tired in respect of the bathroom and its fittings .

Would certainly not stay again .

The hotel is situated at the edge of the old village (which is very quaint and beautiful) and next to the Wolfberger wine shop! We stayed two nights but did not use the restaurant, choosing to try some of the many within walking distance. The room was small but as we had requested one with a shower cubical we were more than happy with it. The hotel was very clean, the staff very helpful and spoke good English. The buffet breakfast was very extensive and very good value for money.

THIS WAS AN OVERNIGHT STAY ON OUR WAY TO A SKIING HOLIDAY IN AUSTRIA. WE STAYED HERE LAST YEAR AT THE SAME TIME AND WERE IMPRESSED BY THE QUALITY OF THE ROOM (ON THE TOP FLOOR WITH A PROPER SHOWER CUBICLE) THIS YEAR WE WERE ON THE SECOND FLOOR THE ROOM WAS CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE BUT THERE WAS ONLY A BATH WITH A HAND HELD SHOWER SPRAY WITH NO HOOK TO HANG IT ON AND NO SHOWER CURTAIN. THIS MEANT THAT THE FLOOR GOT VERY WET. WE DID NOT USE THE RESTAURANT BUT THE BREAKFAST WAS GOOD.

Best location and some lie

Every year, I stay in this hotel for Eguisheim wine festival and I stayed in 2011 and they were so nice and best location so I booked for this year 2012. Since I'm Asian, before I book the hotel, I call the hotel to gurantee the bath tub and one of the lady guranteed the bath tub so I booked and when I arrived, I double checked and the man in the front desk said, \"Yes, it is bath tub in you room\"and I got into the room, NO BATH TUB. I talked to the one of the person and he told me there is no bath tub room available for this night and I just told him to refund me and I don't want to stay and he gave me the different key where has bath tub. There was lie. I was disappointerd with this. For 2013, I'm not sure if I stay this or not because last year was good....

Comfortable hotel once the room was cleaned

We arrived late in the afternoon, registered, and went to our room. It had not not been cleaned or made up since previous guests left. When we returned to reception, the management knew about the state of the room, said one off the housekeepers was ill, and that it would be ready in an hour or so. We were annoyed that he hadn't bothered to mention this in the first place. Apart from that, the hotel is comfortable and well situated for making trips to outlying villages and to Colmar. Worth the visit.

Not that great of a hotel

We stayed here in November 2011 so were not able to make use of the patio area. The room was OK, nothing special but the hotel is considered one of the most expensive in town. The bed was not that comfortable and the toilet kept making a noise all night long. The entire hotel area just seemed a little dumpy, and not the charming kind of dumpy. We ate in the restaurant the first night and while the food and service were good, the atmosphere was sterile especially considering that there are other restauants in the village which have better atmosphere. The village is great and we will return in the summer time to visit, but we will not stay at this hotel.

We had the most wonderful 6 night stay at this Alsatian Hotel and Village . Hotel superbly situated in the centre of the Village. Extremely quiet. Very courteous and helpful staff. Dinner at the hotel was exceptional - approaching Michellin standard. Another Alsatian food restaurant that was also excellent was the Auberge des Trois Chateaux. Wonderful wine cellars in the village, all very welcoming. Would certainly recommend and would dearly love to return.

There's a restaurant right in front of the hotel. Outside and inside tables, with reasonable prices. We walked through the village and noted the other restaurants were either too casual or too fancy. It was perfect knowing that after we ate, we didn't have too far to go to get to our room!
Our room was right off the main courtyard, in the corner. It was sooooo cozy! Only thing that didn't seem right, was having a shower wand in the tub, without sufficient guards to stop water from going every where.

Lovely, comfortable hotel, with the feel of a big log cabin. We had a quiet room at the back and there was a chilled-out terrace at the side. The location was fantastic, in the stunning medieval village of Eguisheim, close to 'Colmar, packed with local wine-makers selling delicious Muscat... We will definitely be back.

This is a really nice hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Food excellent. Eguisheim is a hidden gem - really old and quaint.
Whilst restaurant service staff are nice the service is laughably (on reflection we did find it very funny and will always remember this hotel) inefficient to the point of being clueless. Lets hope this changes as it lets down what would otherwise be a great experience.

El personal magnífico así como su ubicación. Habitación amplia y cómoda, no así la ducha. El baño es amplio pero la ducha incómoda ya que no tiene duchero desde el techo.
L desayuno muy bien y la cena que también la hicimos allí, muy bien

Personnel tres agreable. Hotel exterieur superbe, paré aux couleurs de Noël. Tres bien situé ainsi que le prking privé. Chambre dans une ambiance alsacienne.
Peut être insonoritée des chambres a revoir un peu.
Restaurant tres bon rapport qualité/prix.
Je recommande cette adresse.

Limpieza de la habitación, había telas de araña en los laterales de la cama, y en las esquinas del suelo mucho polvo. Y las indicaciones para el parking, que supuestamente está incluido pero en la reserva no aparecía y al llegar las indicaciones para encontrarlo eran muy confusas.

Goede parking en hotel ligt in het centrum. Goed ontbijt. Goede keuken en vriendelijk personeel. Vlot bereikbaar. Hotel en de kamers zijn verouderd. Restaurant is zeer rumoerig en druk.
