I've noted that ratings for properties pretty much follow how much you spend. This hotel is no exception, but for the (relatively low) price we paid, we got a quiet, clean room, not much more. Though a large room, the only chair it had was a rather uncomfortable wood, desk chair. The shower was one of the strangest things I've ever seen, but it served its purpose.

We came to the area to shop for cars. The hotel was in the perfect location for our needs. There is a restaurant within walking distance, although it was closed on Sunday when we were there. The breakfast in the morning was perfect with many choices, including a hot breakfast. The staff was plentiful and very nice. I would stay here again!

Disregard the surroundings... it's a nice hotel.

Very nice hotel. First impressions were a bit off putting from the outside as the area looked like quite a dump, i.e. building work started and left unfinished ..... But the hotel can't be held responsible for that and once you step inside it's smart and clean. Very nice friendly staff checked us in. The room was quite large and clean. Unfortunately there was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room neither was there a fridge or microwave which is always quite useful if spending a few days at the same place. The air-conditioning ran quietly which made a nice change to the usual noisy ones we have had to suffer on previous occasions....and windows which could be opened! Breakfast in the morning consisted of a variety of cereals, juices, cold meat, cheese, scrambled eggs, bacon, rolls, croissants, yoghurt, coffee, tea, and as it was a help yourself buffet every one did! Very convenient for Porto airport as well as access to the coast and the very many places of interest Portugal has.

A decent hotel for businessmen and tourists

9 day stay so we had time to judge the hotel fully. It is best to come by car. It is about 15 kms from Valongo to Porto and there is no train. There is a bus service, which runs regularly, even at night (about 40 minutes from Porto), however. The hotel was clean and the personnel very friendly and helpful and the beds the most comfortable we have slept in in any hotel for ages. Our main complaints are minor: the breakfast and drinks billing system: these have to be paid daily, which is a real hassle. Breakfast should be included in the price even when reserving though a third party company rather than directly with the hotel. Another one is the musak: there is only one recording (admittedly relaxing), but when one stays for 9 days, it can drive one mad; there should be at least three recordings. A third is the coffee, which is awful. All in all, though, we were pleased with our stay.

Budget hotel near motorway, right outside of Porto

Staff was very friendly and together with the low price this was the single most remarkable thing about this otherwise unremarkable hotel. This hotel (one of three that this chain operates in and around Porto) compares well to Ibis. While the rooms are spacious, the bathroom is tiny. The mattress is not very comfortable but together with the rest of the hotel it strikes you as \"just enough\" for crashing one night. I recommend this hotel for those who want a budget accommodation outside of Porto, or who are traveling on the Motorway to/from the North of the country. You need a car to access this hotel as it is not well served by public transport or indeed close to any restaurants or bars.

Good hotel, but quite far from Porto itself

We found the hotel to be very good, and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. However, it is in a rather remote area with not very much in the immediate vicinity. We did go exploring and found a large shopping centre behind a garage. This includes a very large supermarket. It wasn't too easy to locate as it is tucked away off the main road, but we asked directions. There is a good cafe bar at the bottom of the hill which the hotel is situated on - this is open until late at night, and serves very good food at reasonable prices.
The hotel receptionist gave us details of the local buses which go into the centre of Porto, which we used each day during our stay. The buses are frequent, and the bus stop is a few minutes' walk from the hotel.
We didn't go into Valongo town centre as it seemed a little too far to walk along a very busy main road with limited pavements. On the way to the hotel by taxi, there didn't look to be very much of interest in Valongo town, but we could be wrong about that.

It was easy to find and an easy 10 minute drive into the tourist area of the city.

There are places to eat within walking distance at night.

Out of the way, but worth the money.

We chose this hotel because of the price + customer reviews. While it wasn't in the center of things the price we paid per night was well worth it for the included continental breakfast, which ran from 0630 to Noon! The breakfast was really awesome, with plenty of options we always left for the day with full stomachs. The room was very bare, a bed and a desk and only one outlet in the bedroom and another in the bathroom. The shower, however, was very nice...the shower head was one of the most comfortable i've ever used. They cleaned/tidied our room each day. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they let us check in early when our flight landed well before check-in time.

Let me start by saying the staff was great, rooms were basic but very clean. The price was very reasonable. The only bad thing about this Hotel is the location. There is no restaurant/cafe in the hotel (they even ran out of beer in the lobby) so you are forced to wander out to find anything to eat. There is 1 expensive (for Portugal) restaurant within walking distance and 1 cafe. Otherwise you have to drive to find somewhere to eat and I mean drive. The city bus took us 45 min to an hour to get to the heart of Porto and was very regular. The locals on the bus were very helpful with us finding our needed stops.

No hand towels are provided.
No service room nor fridge in the rooms. Only two machines for coffee and drinks and snacks in the hall reception.
The breakfast was very poor and was not included in the price so we had breakfast in the only bar close to the hotel.

The service I received was insulting. When I checked in I was told that breakfast was included in the price. However, after breakfast, the receptionist informed us that we owed 13 Euros and insisted that we pay immediately. I noted that we had been advised the previous evening that breakfast was included and that if she had advised us that breakfast was not included, we would not have eaten there. She then advised that the payment for the accommodation was not successful and insisted that we pay that immeditately as well. She would not listen to anything we had to say and continued to stress that we pay immediately.

When we returned to the hotel in the afternoon we were informed by another very apologetic receptionist that there had been some confusion over breakfast and the room. She refunded the money and said that the hotel would like us to receive a complimentary breakfast the following morning as compensation. When we arrived for breakfast the following morning, the first receptionist was again on duty and adamantly stated that the breakfast would have to be paid for despite what had been said the previous evening. I tried to explain but again, she refused to listen.

As you can understand, my wife and I are extremely upset at our experience. We felt that we were being treated as criminals. My experience at the Park Hotel has left us with a bad feeling for this hotel chain.

Le personnel très accueillant.. Mais il manque de place pour ranger les vêtements dans la chambre et rien pour accrocher ou déposer les vêtements ou autre dans la salle de bain.. Propre mais pas nette la planche servant de petite table collante avec une épaisseur assez importantes de saleté.. Pour reste impeccable.. Le petit déjeuner est très cher.. 9euros 50..

O hotel é bom. Quarto grande,banheiro pequeno., a banheira é metade de uma banheira tamanho normal.Poderiam tirar e colocar logo um box.Café da manhã simples porém satisfatório e o necessário.Não tem frigobar, ar condicionado funcionando bem.O único inconveniente desse hotel é ser afastado de tudo,não tem um comércio próximo à ele.Pelo preço,encontraríamos hotéis melhores.

Je trouve que ce n'est pas un hôtel pour les touristes, vue pas très sympathique ! sur des bâtiments à l'abandon et salle de bain avec baignoire sabot, pas pratique, mais du linge de toilette propre ! J'ai un peu déprimé en arrivant. Heureusement le personnel est agréable .
