After almost 13 hours long drive on a warm and sunny day needed a good rest, which was not deemed to happen at the premises of this hotel. My family and I got a room just above the main entrance to the hotel, which appeared to be very noisy area until 1 - 2 a.m with drunk people yelling at each other.

Within the space of 10 minutes from entering the room I found two massive spiders, one sitting just above my bed, and which I removed to the hallway of the hotel.
While having shower it appeared that drainange system in the bathroom seemed partially blocked, which considering time of the day (almost midnight) was pointless to report.

The hotel room we occupied looked very much worn out. I cannot recollect to stay in a hotel with so many stains on the carpet and furniture being so worn out. The positive side of this hotel is it's location, especially in the context of catching ferrry to Dover. I would not stop at this hotel again. Not recommended.

Service was great at reception. Our room however was not. It was on the ground floor.. the window was basically a door to the outside opposite the restaurant. The room and bathroom smelled damp and mouldy. The bathroom wall was black with mould as well as the skirt boards in the bedroom. We didn’t want to touch the carpet with our bare feet as it looked and smelled like it hadn’t been cleaned in decades. The skirting boards near the bathroom on the outside (near the bed) were also black and mouldy. We were far too tired to bother swapping all of our stuff out of the room to move to another but we woke up and felt clammy and clothes were damp that had been hung up. Cheap overnight stay ready for our ferry the next morning.

Nice Hotel, But???

Been to this hotel twice in July , whilst it is clean, and staff are very pleasant to deal with, but the beds were too soft, both time woke up with a sore lower back, and a stiff neck, could do with firmer mattresses. Had dinner at hotel on second stay, just wanted water with dinner, served straight from tap, very warm day, water just as warm, they should chill some in fridge prior to opening the restaurant.

Shabby bedrooms, poorly designed bathroom meant shower screen made access to the bath difficult. Poor soundproofing to adjacent rooms and corridor. Area around was like a ghost town ( hotel next door boarded up) possibly due to a refugee camp being only 2-3 miles away? I would not stay again.

Very convenient for car ferry. Ample parking. Felt very sorry for the manager who was receptionist/barman/chef and waiter all in one as he was only member of staff on. Only pizzas available in the restaurant as it was a Sunday. A billing issue did occur, probably as the manager was doing too many things at once so can't be blamed for that.

Close to Dunkerque but still quiet.

Delighted to find we'd been allocated a ground floor room with mobility access even though it had not been put on booking form it was deffinitely very much appreciated!
The only real negative commemt would be that only 1 teabag was included in the tea making facilities- this seems to be rather too common now.
The hotel was close to the ferry port but still quiet. It then gave us easy access to the motorway to continue our journey.

The hotel is quite tired, rooms were comfortable but worn sanitary ware showed that it’s time for a refresh.

The advertised restaurant is not currently open due to a fire, and apparently hasn’t been open for some time, so a 10 minute drive to a commercial area for dinner.

Great location for the ferry port, so still worth considering.

Great hotel - easy to find from Calais ferry

We decided on a last minute break and booked the week before.
We arrived very late at night (ferry) and this was an overnight stay en route to our main holiday destination. We were really pleasantly surprised by the hotel, (we had cut short our stay in a Campanile in another area on a previous holiday). This hotel was modern, very clean and easily accessible from the ferries at Calais (and probably Dunkirk too). The receptionist was great. He helped us to find parking, as all the spaces were taken and checked us in quickly. The hotel is a little out of the main town and felt very safe. The room was comfortable with a private en-suite bathroom. We didn't stay for breakfast, so can't comment on that.

It is under a refurbishment plan so no comment to be made beyond the room facilities. Could do with having more milk provided and the coffee and tea checked better as there wasn’t enough tea for both of us and we would not have been able to have a cup both in the afternoon and the morning.

Room had a stale smell. Latch on wc door missing mould in grout of shower and all over wc ceiling.

Linen was clean. Tv remote carpet an bed cushions not so clean.

Spend a few euros replacing the extract fans please. It will stop all the mould re growing.

Is close to port I didn’t try any food.

I’m fine with a small room and low spec, but facilities needs to be clean without Black mould.

Not the normal standard I had expected from a Campanile. While I expected basic facilities, I did not expect the Hotel to be in need of freshening up. Also some of the repairs previously carried out within the bathroom area were poor. Overall I found the Hotel clean but tired and in need of internal redecoration, not particularly cheap. Perhaps the timing of my visit was wrong.
On another note I found the staff to be very helpfully and polite.

Booked a table for right. Hotel had a large party in. No problem with that BUT they could only offer us two choices as has run out of rest of menu. We complained and the hotel booked us s table at the red pepper restaurant over the road. Excellent menu and good there. Breakfast was good though. Need to rethink its catering for guests and parties. Should not run out of food

Nice comfortable hotel ideal for catching car ferry to Dover. The receptionist was a bit unwelcoming however checked us in without any problems. Our room was fine, spotlessly clean and comfortable. I needed another pillow and asked the receptionist for one to be told that they only provided three per double room (!). However after I pointed out that sharing half a pillow with my partner was less than acceptable, he duly managed to find one from an unoccupied room.

Room air-conditioning didn't work. My room was right outside the front door so couldn't open window due to smoke coming in from outside and I had asked for a ground floor room for my disabled dad which we didn't get so he had to struggle up steps with luggage and severe arthritis.

OK stay for the one night we were there but avoid if you are like me and sensitive to noise as there were people running around the hotel until around four am with doors slamming all night.

I use this hotel regularly when I travel from Milan to London with the car and catch the Dunkerque ferry. This hotel is literally 5 mins from the ferry terminal. Clean, modern, simple, attentive staff, decent restaurant and better than usual continental breakfast. Good value.

Visit was a quick 8 hour stay. As with this brand and pricing bracket. You get what you would expect. Clean room and bathroom and basic bedroom. Bed was hard and pillows small which is not my preference.

It seems with all hotels in this chain, walls are rather thin so you hear more than you wish too.

Overall for the price I paid. It was very good value and did the job.

we booked just one night prior to taking a ferry back home.Our room was on the loft with two small windows \"overlooking\" a parking lot, so despite the air conditioning working on full power it was quite difficult to lower the room's temperature. The room itself was really nice and clean, and the hotel's location is just excellent for the ferry crossing.The only huge downfall was the very limited parking spaces for the guests so once the parking got completely full the remaining guests had nowhere to leave their cars so they got quite annoyed and parked their vehicles anywhere including the grass areas and the areas designated for the walking only!
