Only stopped in so I did not have a long ride to the tunnel back to the UK in the morning. They let me check in at noon, room was dated but pleasant. Comfy sleep, nice shower and the bike was safe and sound in the car park. No complaints here.

I love this old hotel but it needs some work. It has huge potential with the right investment. Sadly my room was hot as I couldn’t turn off the towel rail, even closing the door.

The room was however clean with tea and coffee. The bed was a four poster.

Classed as a two star hotel this place should at least be a three star.
Clean, good quality friendly staff. We stayed before and didn't have the best of sleep but this time upgraded the bedroom and it was clean comfortable and a great stay for your money.

We were just there for one night leaving for the euro tunnel the next morning. We had a comfortable bed. The hotel was a 10 minute walk to the beach and Dunkirk 1940 museum. We went to a lovely bar close by in the evening. There was no air conditioning but we could open the window. We had a lovely view of the harbour from our room.

We loved staying there. A nice spacious room with a view of the harbor. The decor is a bit outdated, however, it was very fitting for the area. The room had kettle and tea plus breakfast was inexpensive and lovely with traditional French style.

Parking is free and plentiful, and the location provides easy, walkable access to most attractions. The room had a lot of ware and was very hot when I entered due to afternoon sun beaming in with window closed, drapes wide open, and no air conditioning.

Comfortable bed, big shower, great location!

Lovely staff, a little date decor which we LOVE because lots of the new hotels are so bland and stark, most importantly the beds are super comfortable and I'm a big guy (23 stone, 6'5\" tall) so I am used to cheaper hotels having terrible mattresses. Not this place! Nice big showers too! Not the style of breakfast we're used to so we passed on that. Very good value for money! We look forward to staying there again!

A great find. Slightly difficult to find.we initially stopped at the side of the hotel and could not see it. We then drove round another kilometer and it was the furst hotel we had stopped at, but there was no name sign at the side of the hotel. That needs to be improved. The room was great with views over the river. The facilities were good especially the disabled room we had. The staff were excellent and very helpful we will stay again

We have stayed in this hotel before & it is good value for money. The hotel is well situated in Dunkerque. They have managed the Covid-19 situation well breakfast was served to us socially distanced. Rooms are good size & comfortable however there are some small points they could improve on. Ventilation was poor in room as no aircon and the room was very hot & stuffy.
In common with most hotels not enough power points for our tablets phones etc.
No cups in bathrooms for teeth cleaning/tablet taking.
No stand alone showers we had to clamber over bath edge not good for older residents.
On saying all the above we will stay again next time we are in Dunkerque

After following the zip code the hotel was not in sight and following several phone calls to the hotel I was told to ask someone in the street as no one was available who could speak English well enough. An hour later we found the hotel. The room looked good at first sight, however, the room was roasting hot, the beds were rock hard, there was mound in the bath tub where the shower was leaking, there were only one pillow per bed so they had to be folded in two for support. The rooms were very noisy with doors slamming and waking us up several times, along with noisy neighbors and street noise (window open due to the heat). None of us had a shower (which was straight from the 1970’s) due to the green staining around the plug hole, deciding to wait until our next hotel -which was much better.

No hot water in room. Plunge-style toilet flush came straight out of top of cistern into my hand - so couldn’t flush the toilet. Airless room. Generally grubby.
Yes, I know,,you get what you pay for - but this should be basic requirements.
Hassle to change our room - receptionist most unhelpful. we did change in the end, but, although we had hot water and a workable toilet, the room itself was sadly neglected.
Would never stay there again.

Main criticism was room design. Bathroom too big which cut into size of bedroom which had nowhere put two cases as there was too much furniture which we did not need. Shower could have been cleaner with black mould evident

We had a lovely two night stay, the location was perfect and the bed was comfortable. The hotel staff are fab too. I think the hotel needs renovating to improve general standards eg the bathrooms are dated with old tiling and rusty pipes. The hotel itself looks a bit run down, but on the whole it’s a hidden gem that just needs a bit of tlc.

We turned up at the hotel after Expedia had found us another hotel while on the phone, as we was inside the hotel \"RELAIS FASTHOTELin Dunkerque\" that we was meant to be staying in thanks to people letting us in the gate and reception, but there was no staff around to get are keys, but to be honest I'm glad they did after the noise we was listening to while trying to sort are problems out. Les Gens De Mer has 24 hour reception friendly staff, quite facilities and very comfortable rooms with spacious bathroom, we will be back

We have stayed here on a few previous occasions. Hotel is a little tired and could do with spruce up in places, i.e. good shower but the shower head sprayed the wall due to water pressure. Only one towel between the two of us and one (small) pillow. On saying that the hotel is clean and comfortable has great views over the harbour and is centrally located in Dunkirk, for the £46 we paid hotel represents good value for money.

Arriving in France in the early hours this place does not look that nice where it is located, and its not fancy inside! But if all you need is a bed and shower with a location near the centre of town and the port, this is perfect. Doubt it will win awards as a hotel but great for a stop over.
Personally I think this is pricey for what you get, but beggars cannot be choosers at 1am

The hotel offer not one English speaking tv Chanel or even the option of having English subtitles this spoiled the holiday as anyone who has children knows this would of been very adventageous
