Lively hotel, room was quite warm so we had the window open. There was some noise from the bar around the corner but that wasn’t too much of an issue. However at 4am two very loud and slightly drunk people started a conversation under our open window. I did shout out for them to “go away” and they disposer the volume and got into a car and drove off, I say car but sounded like a tractor.

Short one night stay before travelling on, we arrived very late but the reception staff was extremely friendly and understanding. We had a family room which was very spacious, clean and well equipped. The beds were very comfortable, a welcome treat after a long journey! The continental breakfast was also generous and delicious. Would definitely recommend a stay here, and no doubt we'll be returning!

Lied to by hotels.com/the hotel- no parking.

Awful and disappointing. Drove 30min out of Calais after our ferry at 3am only because this hotel offered parking- stated by hotels.com/the hotel, only to find no parking available! And the parking advertised was on street parking but because there was a circus in town there was no parking and the reception told us to find somewhere on street- took us 15min to find and cost €6- of which the hotel did not compensate. Pretty ticked off with this because the only reason we drove so far in the middle of the night was to make sure our luggage in the car was safe. Should’ve just stayed in Calais!
Actual accommodation was not worth it- got old, outdated rooms with no AC. The receptionist on Night Shift helped us out with a fan but still not a comfortable sleep.

The room was spacious and clean, it looked a bit tired and a \"central main light\" is missing, making the room sparsely light. It was warm and the single window was a bit small for the 3 of us to provide cooling fresh air. The shower is in the bath but one is standing at the narrow end.
Reception was kind & helpful. We had breakfast outside what was fantastic! It did exactly meet our purpose on our trip.

A rip-off

It pretends to be a 3-star hotel room and you pay for that but then you soon realize it is a 2-star lodging.
A jumble of outdated and non-functional furniture (the coat rack niche is occupied by a chest of drawers; single bedsteads added without bedside table or lamp; curtain too small to darken the room; dreary lights of the abat-jour, etc.)

Very good hotel

This is a lovely hotel situated rightbis the main square of Gravelines. We used it as a transit stop before catching the Eurotunnel home. A great location. Nice restaurant closeby too (Le Citadel). Good breakfast in the hotel. The corridors could do with a coqt if paint in pkaces but the room was very clean and comfortable. We will definately return again.

This hotel served our family need for an overnight rest before catching an early morning ferry in Calais but also “off motorway” and with a bit of character . It’s on the historic main square, quality bistro restaurant but - be warned - def not “pub grub” and kids menu limited . Rooms and decor dark and worn but mattress /bedding/bathroom/strong shower / kettle all just fine. Staff friendly and efficient . Allow 30 mins drive to Calais dock check in.

Family stay for one night prior to getting the shuttle home. Efficient check in. Condition of room 215 very tired. 4 single beds, thin pillow, bed by the window had debris scattered over it. Was very stong winds that night. No tea or coffee facilities. TV small for the size of the room. Bathroom was clean but shower head bracket was broken and had to hold to shower. Large internal hole in the wall where extractor fan should be. Asked for extra pillows and they were delivered.
In general, downstairs bar area is nice and modern, but rooms and corridors very tired. No changes made since 2016. Have stayed each year for stopover.

Strange reception bad cots/beds, unsafe shower/tub

We arrived after hours and was welcomed by the night receptionist.He had an unusual method of welcoming and he was cordial to me but was rude to one of the others in our party Saying he thought it was improper for a guest to walk around to try and find the restroom instead of asking. He seems uptight & defensive altho' I doubt he meant to be.The rooms were really like a hostel. The beds are essentially cots.my bed leaned, did not have a mattress cover on it and was worn out. The room does not have A/C and it was hot making us keep the window open on a street that gets loud early in the morning. We barely had enough towels & the toilet tissue was the tiny sheets left that come in a package not on a roll.Difficult to use. The bathtub was so narrow that my husband's feet did not fit properly and he almost fell out of the tub when he turned around. It would have been a bad fall since the tub is a bit high and and he would have hit something hard and porcelain.Bad wifi

Stayed for two nights, good central location and parking (free at the week-end) directly opposite the hotel. Room a little tired and carpet dirty, but acceptable. Our room was at the end of the building top floor so the roof sloped over the bed and the adjacent toilet, the latter making things a little difficult for a man to utilise (use your imagination!). A little noisy at night from the usual idiots outside on underpowered motorbikes which is fairly standard for France, and equally noisy neighbours in the next room, but at least being at the end room - just the one side! No tea / coffee making facilities, although the staff did kindly leave tea bags and coffee sachets when they saw we had brought a travel kettle. All towels etc taken daily which was environmentally unnecessary.

Our stay here was fine in the event, although they were in the throes of renovating the ground floor so there was associated mess. The lift being out of action was a mild inconvenience. Could be worth checking before booking if this is likely to cause you major problems.

Pleasant hotel in town centre

We used the hotel as an overnight stay before travelling on south. The reception was pleasant with helpful advice. The hotel does have a lift. The hotel was very quiet, clean and the room was pleasant, all be it a bit crowded. Shower facilities were basic. Breakfast was good with a fair selection.

We entered a cold room, after turning on the only heater it smelled of dust for a long time. The third bed was still very cold so we had to share the small double bed with our son. The bath water cranes are loose and there is no ventilation in the bathroom. A facility to prepare tea would have been nice to compensate the cold. Overall we slept good and the breakfast was good too.

Nice staff and tranquil location , ...but photos are very misleading ..modern exterior but interior ..especially rooms are very poor ,had a family room on way back from Euro Disney for the night and to say we were dissapointed is an understatement, we even changed our ferry departure time the following day as we couldn't stay there longer than necessary , room was very small for a family of four , broom cupboard toilet was awful to use with no ventilation, beds were just camp beds,nowhere to put anything really, strange smell in room too,..staff were nice and bar was pleasant but compared to the hotel we had stayed in at Euro Disney it was really poor value for money

Nice location, perfect for the Dunkirk ferry

This was a hotel in a great location. Grave lines is a lovely little town within 15 mins easy drive of the Dunkirk ferry terminal- the square had plenty to do and a nice castle to explore (maybe if we'd had more time). We used the hotel for an overnight stay after a long drive up from southern France. The staff were friendly, room comfortable. The whole hotel felt a bit dated, and the evening food could have been better, however for an overnight stay close to the ferry port, it was absolutely fine.

Pleasant hotel on main square of ancient town.

Le Beffroi is a hotel/restaurant mainly designed for business visitors, but fine for couples and families spending a few days visiting this old fortified town and the nearby harbour, beach and fish restaurants. Rooms are very reasonable and, although a tad more expensive, breakfasts are varied and copious. Gravelines also makes a good overnight stop arriving from or returning to England on the Dover-Dunkirk ferry. Breakfasts are served 7/7 but evening meals only Monday to Thursday. There are several decent restaurants in Gravelines but, in season, Petit Fort Phillippe some 3 miles away is a good bet for eating. The Motorway is about 3 miles away and the Belgian frontier about 20 minutes. A couple of pleasant bars on the square. All in all a good introduction to French Flanders and a chance to meet the very friendly locals.

Lovely hotel close to Calais

We (family of 4) stayed here before getting the morning ferry from Calais to Dover. The hotel is in a beautiful, small town overlooking the town square. There are a few cafes/restaurants nearby serving good food. The hotel was clean and tidy with friendly staff, I would certainly stay again.

1 night stopover from Calais, less than 30 minutes from eurotunnel. Nice little hotel right in the village square with free overnight parking. We had a quad room (double and 2 singles) perfect for the family. We skipped breakfast though was only 9€. Room was decent, clean and comfortable.

The decor was in battleship grey and quite depressing
There was no tea making facility in the room and the pillows were uncomfortable (seemed to be lumpy and worse for wear)

A good place for a weekend overnight stay

We went away with one set of elderly parents for the weekend, one of whom is not very mobile. Very pleased there was a lift, because of the mobility problem we ate in the Hotel Restaurant and had an excellent value for money meal. Parking including disabled bays are very handy in the square, although we believe ther is a market on Friday mornings whic may affect this. Highly recommended.

My room didn't have a nice view, but never mind for a night.
My son was very disappointed to find, that televisions in France only have French channels :-D

Very nice to sleep here after arriving from England - very close to Dunkerque.

Kind of free parking on the square and in the streets around. I didn't really understand that, because there are parking automats saying differently, but never mind, it's really free between 18pm-9am (April 2014) .

If you arrive on Thursday, believe the staff if they suggest you where to park. There is market on Friday, not only on the square, but in the streets as well, really nice. You need to move your car if you are on the way. They start packing out at 7am. They ring you in the morning if you forgot about it.

A very conveniently located hotel for sightseeing or overnighting before a channel crossing. We rated it as OK, but no more, in view of the unappealing decoration of the room and a none too friendly reception. Prospective visitors should note that Friday mornings are noisy because of the adjacent market that sets up from 7.00am onwards. Additionally, despite it being a very cold night, there was no heating whatsoever in the dining room, which caused us to eat elsewhere, despite a promising menu.

Good Location for Eurotunnel but basic

We were after somewhere for an overnight stay before getting a really early Eurotunnel crossing. The hotel is only about 20 minutes from Calais so was a very good location. The village it is in was lovely; very well maintained, nice restaurants and on a river so lots of boats etc. Parking outside was very convenient. There was a nice courtyard in the hotel (although we had to push the guy on reception to volunteer this information). The rooms were clean, but basic as you'd expect from the star rating, but it was cheap. The door wouldn't lock very well and was quite fiddly which was a bit of a pain. I wouldn't go to this hotel for a holiday but as a quick pit stop it was fine.

the hidden jewel between Calais and Dunkirk

Gravelines is a great 'hidden jewel' in an otherwise industrial stretch of coast; perfect to unwind after a long journey. Hotel Beffroi is perfectly situated in the little town, is quiet clean and comfortable. Slightly pricey but plentiful breakfast; the only criticism a noisy refrigerator unit.

We stayed for one night on our stay on the way through to do aid work in Estonia. The we was myself, my wife and my two children (12 & 14). The journey of over two thousand kilometres requires occasional breaks and this was one of two on the outward leg. The hotel was generally attractive in a quiet but beautiful French Town. The restaurant was not open even though we arrived just after 7pm. The price for the room was hugely different from that quoted on the interned and the room although comfortable was not as clean as it could have been. The pillows were unhelpful, extremely hot and and quite skimpy. Management sought to remedy unhelpful 1st impression.

Charming hotel in a quiet town

We visited this hotel on a relaxing weekend break while we shopped for wine. The hotel is more than adequate, right in the main square of this lovely little town. The staff were very helpful, pleasant and polite. Not a great deal of English spoken, my fault for not brushing up more on my French. Our evening meal was lovely, we didn't stay for breakfast as we were not hungry but I have no doubt, it would have been fine. Only down side is the town is very quiet with not much going on. Very clean hotel.

Bien, typique mais à rafraîchir.

Chambre propre mais besoin d'un léger rafraîchissement (besoin de peinture, retrait moquette vieillotte). Personnel sympathique (repas du soir un peu cher pour la quantité). Qualité au rendez-vous. Petit déjeuner très léger. Manque diversité au niveau salé.

Bon séjour

Un hôtel très bien situé dans le centre de Gravelinnes.
Très pratique pour découvrir la région.
Chambre propre pour laquelle un petit frigo serait sympa.
L'accueil est très bien, personnel très sympathique et attentionné.
Nous avons également testé le restaurant, la cuisine y est goûteuse avec des prix convenables.
Une bonne adresse à retenir.

Geht so…..

Zentral gelegen, öffentliche (keine hoteleigenen) Parkplätze zwar vorhanden aber nicht freitags wenn Markt ist.
Zimmer sauber aber nicht sehr gemütlich.
Die Rezeption nur ausreichend freundlich
Frühstück ist OK, aber das Rührei eine Katastrophe. Die Tische wurden fast alle eine lange Zeit nicht gereinigt und für neue Gäste verfügbar gemacht.
Die Dame an der Rezeption beschäftigte sich lieber. It ihrem Handy.
