The property is right on the beach which is very nice. But they have a dog and cat that live on the property and I found dog feces on the balcony. It was cleaned up quickly but I don't think that's a great look. Also, I sat on water that delayed me leaving because I had to dry my outfit. I requested to my room cleaned when I didn't put my towel container outside my door as requested by management but it didn't happen. The room smelled very musty . Very minimal continental breakfast ( only coffee)

Alberto greeted us almost immediately upon arrival. When you get there, there is a number to call him on the front gate because there is no office or lobby to check in to. Coco, the dog, is the hotels mascot. She rules the roost during the day. You’ll often see her sunning herself in the atrium. She is super friendly. The restaurant on site is only open Thursday to Sunday. They run on island time so don’t expect them to quickly serve you. They are nice, however. Very limited menu. They are open from 2-9 I think. There is no ice machine on the property but there is a microwave under the stairs in the atrium. Fridge in room. The lack of ice bummed me out because I like to take cold water to the beach with me because it is so warm there. Beach is right next to the hotel so access was next to perfect. A three minute walk up the beach you can find chairs and umbrellas to rent.
The drive from the airport is under 10 minutes but the route can be tricky so make sure you pay close attention to your GPS. It’s settled back in. There are only a couple of parking spots and street parking is virtually impossible to find. Alberto mentioned he would help us find a spot somewhere if when we came back, there wasn’t a spot available. Beds are not comfy but the room was quaint. Just like any other island room. Property was beautiful. We saw lizards and crabs in the atrium. Tons of cats all around the outside of the property. They don’t come to you but they also don’t bother you.

Very friendly and attentive staff. We had a beautiful relaxed time. The view from the restaurant and the breeze was awesome in the mornings and the evenings. The mojito de acerola was very good.

You just had to walk across the street, but it was at a dead end so it was very easy. I didn’t drive there.

This little hotel was steps away from the beach. The property and rooms need a lot of updating. I stayed in 107 and although clean it was very run down. Also, the parking is horrendous. Property is at a dead end street and narrow. My husband and I have mobility issues and the walk to the restaurants were quite far for us. Getting a taxi is pretty simple and the best way around the island.

This is a great hotel, I am very satisfied with my stay. I wanted to stay close to the airport and have food options and this hotel provided just that. I enjoyed the continental breakfast of coffee, sandwiches and fruit. Ito was very welcoming when I arrived later than I initially planned. This hotel has beautiful plants and orchids in the lobby area. I also enjoyed the restaurant at the rear of the hotel and has ocean front seating. My only disappointment is that the restaurant is only open Thurs- Sun and they close at 9pm. Parking can be rough in this area I’m very glad I was Ubering and being picked up by a friend.

When I got to the hotel and entered the room, the toilet was full of fecal matter ( to say it nicely).
The receptionist (the person who called me before) saw the toilet, flushed it, and she graciously said, \"Don't worry, everything else is cleaned, it was just the maid who cleaned the bedroom and used the bathroom and forgot to flush it\".
She then started pointing out all the dirty spots in the bedroom and started cleaning them (including making sure I understood that the spots on the comforter were a result of something greasy and not \"something else\"....).
Come to find out SHE WAS ALSO THE MAID!!
The sight of the waste left in the toilet and the smell inside the very small, ugly, and windowless bedroom made me gag for a couple of minutes. I lost interest and requested a refund immediately, and I had to spend an additional $600 to find another hotel. I hope Expedia helps me get some of my money back for doing them a favor and reporting this.

We arrived at hotel super late, however the manager was available to assist us. The room was clean and tidy and the air conditioning made the room very comfortable. The hotel advertised breakfast however we were disappointed with the set up. It was very basic. There was coffee, cereal, a few pieces of fruit. We opted to go to a nearby restaurant for breakfast. The property was very accessible to the beach and there was a great patio to sit and take in the ocean. It was affordable compared to other properties we searched We would stay again.

The rooms were clean, and the beach view was beautiful. However, having the microwave on the second floor was inconvenient at times. The outlets in the room also barely worked, which was frustrating. Overall, my husband and I still had a great stay because we planned our days ahead, but I don’t think I would choose to stay here again on my next visit to Puerto Rico. I hardly seen hotel staff for the 4 days we stayed.

La Playita is a charming old hotel right on the water. The staff are warm, helpful, and make you feel welcome. Our.room was large and comfortable, looking directly over the water. The central courtyard is full of beautiful plants and has its own coquí. Would definitely recommend.

Rooms need a lot of updating. Nothing cozy about the rooms, especially the bed. Staff had to be tracked down often for towels etc. However, it was nice to have the beach right across from us. We didn’t rent a car so parking was a non issue.

This was a nice, minimalist hotel for our stay. More of a boutique hotel. Just steps from the beach, with some cute pups and kitties on the grounds. The restaurant was ok, not our favorite of the trip, but not bad. Relatively quiet, but if you're sensitive to the sounds of other guests outside your window, then bring earplugs.

If you are looking for a no frills but beautiful stay near the beach look no further. The property abuts two gorgeous beaches literally steps away from the hotel. Breakfast is simple and included. Staff are accommodating and kind. Daily housekeeping! The owner, Alberto, was knowledgeable and welcoming.
The hotel also has a great restaurant open on the weekends that is wonderful! Overall, I’d give a 10/10.

Do Not Recommend. If you’re just looking for a place to sleep, this is fine. I did request an ocean view, and I got it! However, the windows were shut closed completely, the room was humid, and don’t forget the mosquitoes. Also, please note that you can’t sit outside by the restaurant on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday—it’s only for restaurant customers.

We loved staying at the playita. Great quiet place very clean and close to a lot of restaurants and 2 steps down to the beach. The cafecito in the morning was my favorite thing every morning. We love chatting with Mary and playing with coco and arena, the 2 dogs in the hotel. We will be back!

I am so happy I chose this hotel! It was perfect!! You are literally steps away from the beach! I mean steps! They set you up with free breakfast every morning ! There are 2 dogs on property soo friendly and cute and well taken care of. Many restaurants walking distance. Powerful AC I loved. The staff stood out the most during my stay. The ladies who clean the rooms are super nice and accommodating. The welcoming when we arrived was great and easy as well. The hotel only has 5 parking spots and 15 rooms so parking can be a problem if you want to stay out late. The beach is directly across the street which is nice. The restaurant which is opened only during the weekend has good food and the ambiance was nice. The rooms however need major improvements. My son and I had an amazing check in experience! The host walked us to our door and turned on our AC! We ate at the restaurant right on our floor and it was amazing from the piña colada to the mojito de parcha to the alcapurrias. They even had hamburger and fries for my kiddo. The best band was playing and live performing pleneros gave the place a holiday vibe. We found peace and cheer!

I stayed at this hotel for five days . While the reception staff was friendly at first, there was no reception or someone to go to when you needed help after 5 PM. The room was very small, with a tiny fridge, and the shower had a very low water pressure. The internet password didn’t work, and when I asked for a late checkout, no one ever followed up, which ended with someone knocking on the door at 10AM. The bed sheets were not comfortable, with a very thin blankets and the TV was placed high on the wall, blocked partially by the curtain. Overall this hotel is not for a long stay maybe a day or two. . I hope the hotel can address these issues for future guests.

I booked this last minute as a median priced hotel. I based it off just a couple pictures that made it look great. I needed early access or an area to keep baggage at 9-10 in the morning. The staff was great, the facility was very clean. I rated it lower due to the room I was placed in. The room had portions of the ceiling stained and had patches that had fallen. The bed did not have a skirt on the mattress pad and some material falling from beneath it. The door was tricky to lock and unlock. I was disappointed in the room and area, but stalk and cleanliness made up for it. The restaurant was nice and the beer was cold. Continental breakfast consisted of small ham and cheese rolls, cereal, bananas, biscotti and some fruit.
