I was very pleased with the welcome I received when checking in and was pleased with the very good cleanliness of my single room upon entering. The beds in this hotel are very comfortable and the bathrooms are very modern (for example, my bathroom had a large shower and even a bidet. The best part of this hotel is the value as I only paid 77 euros for 1 night for room.

it’s a very average and small hotel. the elevator is super slow and holds only 3 people. it’s a very old hotel and you can tell it’s been refurbished to look more modernized. there were mosquitoes in my room. the safe in the room wasn’t attached to anything, so you can literally just walk out with the safe, which defeats the purpose of a safe. the guy at the front desk is very helpful and nice. there’s a supermarket near by, and it seems like a safe location to stay at

Great little hotel. Superbly placed for exploring Matosinhos or the tram goes past the hotel for easily exploring further afield. Easy transfer from the airport. Friendly and helpful staff, decent buffet breakfast with a good selection, comfy and quiet room with working aircon. Little fridge in room was useful and there is a Pingo Doce supermarket 180metres away open 0800 to 2100 everyday. Lovely beaches. Lots of great places to eat (particularly recommend Sushisia). Will come back.

Hotel has beautiful spiral staircase. Also has an elevator so you dont have to carry luggage up the stairs. Parking is at garage down the street at a discounted price. Also had a limited breakfast for a fee.

Hotel perfect for the Metro and seafood restaurants. Nice leisurely pace if wanted or jump on the Metro to get to the action in Porto.
Will stay again if in Porto and recommend to other visiting - especially if you want to be out of town. The beach is walkable. I would spend more time here if I was ever to return.

We stopped here on our first night after leaving Porto on the Portuguese Camino Way. It was very convenient and I loved being close to the municipal farmers market. The room was small, but it was clean. It was right next to the city train, but the noise didn’t bother us. Very economical.

We enjoyed our brief stay at Hotel Porto Mar. Although the room was a bit small for two people, it was perfectly located. Near the airport, many restaurants and a beautiful stretch of beach. A nice Hotel in Good Location. Hotel main areas have been newly renovated and look very nice, but not the Guest Rooms which were quite small and needed upgrading. The breakfast was very basic and was same food choices every day.

Was a 3 day stay but extended for a Night. The Hotel is magnificent in appearance with the Main Reception, Bar, Reading Room & First Room Floor so alluring & presentable with a lovely retro feel. The Staff on Reception were accessible at all times including very late & Cleaning carried out a thorough tidy when required. Hotel is at the starting point of Matosinhos & a wonderful place to head out from each day.

Worst hotel stay ever
The room aircon unit broke and left a huge puddle of water any of us could have fell over on by the front door. Instead of giving us a new room we were told to wait for an hour for 3 electricians to turn up, who all stood in our room for an hour with no apologies, room changes or compensation. After an hour of arguing we got given individual rooms with air cons which did not work, and looked like prison cells. Stay away at all costs.

Went with three friends for the Euro Nations League Finals. The Hotel is conveniently placed for link to Porto and Airport. Within a two minute walk of nearest metro station. Also very well placed for Matosinhos itself with beach and restaurants in easy reach. Staff were helpful and friendly. Would recommend this as an ideal base rather than Porto City itself as you can easily get in and out of the city but have the advantage of a fairly quiet, friendly town and the excellent restaurants and beach. Football was a waste of space

This property had some beautiful lounge rooms around the regular rooms. They were decorated beautifully and comfortably. One had a large screen tv and would be like watching a movie in an elegant living room. Another spot, by the beautiful spiral stairway had bookshelves, sofa chairs and a kids table and chairs along with kids’ toys. It would be a great spot to unwind. Their dining room is the most beautiful I’ve been in! Tall ceilings, immaculate, like you’re in s fancy restaurant. There was just about every option of food you’d want for breakfast. We just wish we’d had longer to stay here!

Our flight from OPO airport was cancelled and we had to stay until the next day. Since we had no plans of staying in this city, we were kind of scared and worried because we haven’t researched the area. Someone at the airport recommended us this place. I’m not going to lie. When we got to the area (Sunday night), it seemed like a ghost town. As soon as we entered the hotel, the concierge was very friendly and pointed us to the room which was very clean. Hotel is super quiet, our room (suite) was very nice and staff is very helpful.

The Porto Mar is a lovely renovated Art Deco Hotel, right on the Metro rote from Porto and close to the Camino trail, which was the purpose of our trip.
The staff, though quite thin on the ground are wonderful. very friendly and obliging, even though we arrived a little earlier than planned.
The rooms were of a good standard and very clean. Plenty of hot water at good pressure was much appreciated after walking from Porto City.

Stayed here for the Porto Marathon which starts and finishes nearby. This hotel was better than I expected for the price. It's in between 2 metro stations so getting into downtown Porto is only a 30 minute ride away and also convenient on metro for the airport. The beaches are 15 minutes walk away. Lots of cafes nearby. Room had an extremely small portable TV but wifi was good. Beds were a bit hard for my liking and if you are a light sleeper be aware the metro trams pass directly outside. Good service, they let me check in early. I would stay here again.

Habia reformas en la recepcion del hotel y el olor a pintura era un poco desagradable, pero lo peor fue la habitacion, se veia con mucha falta de mantenimiento, portarollos roto, no funcionaba el enchufe del lavabo y lo peor, una enorme mancha de humedad en el techo de la habitación.
Lo mejor el personal, siempre atento a ayudar, pero el hotel necesita muchos cuidados.
